Hosting is wonderful, but only ever temporary.We're looking for an experienced, knowledgeable person to support our hosted guests to move on from their hosting placements. 

You'll combine your compassion, organisational skills and expertise to work with our guests as they take their next steps in finding a safe home and rebuilding their lives after exploitation. 

Hope at Home operates a hosting scheme for survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK.  We train and support hosts to welcome a survivor facing homelessness into their homes for an agreed time period.

We believe no survivor of slavery should ever have to sleep on the streets. 

We are looking for a highly organised, self-motivated person with demonstrable experience of helping people find accommodation to join our team and assist our guests directly to move on from hosting.  This is a brand new, but vital role as we are only able to continue hosting if guests are provided with ways to move on from their temporary hosting placements.  As advice services, housing and support providers are increasingly overwhelmed, we plan to offer our own support for our guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·Build a relationship via phone, email and online calls with hosted guests to help them progress their move on options.You will sometimes use an interpreter for these calls.

·Advising guests of their rights to statutory or private rented accommodation.

·Working with guests to apply to housing providers, asylum or MSVCC accommodation when entitled.

·Signposting to other sources of support for guests.

·Ensure Hosting Coordinators and external guest support workers are fully informed of interactions and plans.

· Collaborative Working with housing providers, external support providers, guests and the Hope at Home hosting team.

We are looking for an EDI Committee Chair who will ensure that EDI-BIIDE runs through all that we do, in a way that aligns with our strategic objectives and our resources.

About the Role

We are looking for an EDI Committee Chair to provide direction to the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE Work and to lead the EDI-BIIDE Committee, ensuring alignment between the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE Action Plan and the organisation’s three-year strategy and resources.

You will ensure EDI-BIIDE is consolidated into all aspects of our work – for our members, our staff and, crucially, for the public with whom we and our members interact professionally. The EDI Committee Chair will lead with confidence and collaborate effectively across the organisation to champion the work of the Committee and be accountable to the Board of Trustees for delivery.

• In liaison with the EDI-BIIDE Committee, to review the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE work to date, and to devise a revised EDI-BIIDE Action Plan that aligns with the organisation’s three-year strategy and resources.
• Lead the EDI-BIIDE Committee and ensure the Committee’s business is conducted collaboratively and methodically and that the Committee takes decisions within its authorised powers (as delegated by the Board of Trustees).
• Liaise with the organisation’s Board of Trustees, staff, and other committee chairs on the Committee’s work.
• Ensure decisions taken by the Committee are clear and unambiguous, and that responsibility for taking forward action points is properly allocated.
• Attend events and other external events as required, acting as an ambassador for the organisation’s work on EDI-BIIDE.
• Report to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis on the Committee’s activities, highlighting achievements, and escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
• Draft briefing notes and communications pieces for internal and external audiences as required.
• In collaboration with staff, recruit and induct members onto the Committee as required.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• An extensive understanding of legal and social EDI-BIIDE matters (including the contextual, political, climatic and social changing landscapes, to advance equity for stakeholders, the public and UKCP). 
• Well-developed communication skills with attention to language meanings across different populations and audiences that promote equity, further collaboration, and uphold respect and dignity for all.
• Experience in embedding EDI-BIIDE principles and practices in an organisational context, understanding how to align EDI-BIIDE with wider business objectives, and working within resource constraints
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with experience working in an influential role and driving cultural changes for individuals, groups, communities, boards, training and teams.
• Proven success in leading and chairing a committee in similar environments

Young people from lower income families are 40% less likely to go to University than wealthier peers (Dept for Education, 2020) which can have a lifelong impact on earning potential. Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions. THE ROLE

Purpose: To manage the effective implementation of programme delivery and development of Merseyside, Tyne and Wear, and Tees Valley Regions. This role will work with staff, schools and corporate partners to ensure that we deliver impact for the girls and young women we serve.

Manage The Girls’ Network mentoring (and other) programmes in your region:

Partnership development:

• Develop effective partnerships with new schools, recruiting them into The Girls’ Network’s programme to enable your team to meet regional targets. Maintaining relationships for successful renewals.
• Collaborate with fundraising colleagues during the engagement process of new corporate partners, to ensure regional targets and needs are met e.g. income, mentor numbers, programme content.
• Oversee delivery of mentor opportunities for the region’s corporate partnerships, ensuring Memorandum of Understanding are met, referring any issues of concern to the Fundraising team for support and guidance.
• Provide relevant information to fundraising and Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning colleagues on any Tier 1 partners in the region, to enable production of evaluation reports
• Lead on delivery of the region’s awareness events, acting as the key contact person.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising & Communications team on key campaigns, e.g. International Womens’ Day, to reach key audiences and help build awareness and support income generation.

Mentor Community Development:

About the Role

This role will be responsible for developing the vision and direction of the Communication and Marketing Strategy but will fundamentally be an operational management delivery role. Responsible for developing and rolling out a multi‐channel communication and marketing strategy that will:

• raise the profile of the charity by communicating news about projects, programmes, and partnerships on social channels, on online and print media outlets, TV networks,
• deliver communications to generate sales to secure a pipeline of farm residential visit bookings from beneficiary groups (being children from schools in disadvantaged communities, youth groups, young carers, children in care, etc) across England and Wales.
• secure income from fundraising by communicating the charity’s mission, vision, and values to donors, funders, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners.

The successful applicant will have considerable experience of developing and delivering a communication and marketing strategy as well as experience of designing and delivering multi-channel sales and marketing campaigns. Excellent people skills are key, as you will need to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Raising the profile of the Charity by devising and implementing a beneficiary‐focused communications strategy that supports both the sales and fundraising function, including print, social, and online communications that target teachers and other adults who are key decision makers for our beneficiaries.
• Developing and embedding an integrated communications and marketing strategy to deliver the ambitions of the Business plan, to reach new markets and successfully translate connections into bookings (‘sales’) or generate income from funders to support fundraising.
