We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant and Administrator to support our team and ensure the smooth operation of our office. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated, experienced executive assistant with administration experience to join our warm and friendly mental health charity. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase of growth as we continue to receive greater funding to expand our reach. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, who can manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. You will assist with incoming calls and enquiries from our clients and volunteers whilst supporting our team members with recurring daily tasks and stand-alone projects with minimal direction and supervision. 

The successful candidate will be a key player in facilitating our mission by providing exceptional administrative support and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organisation. We offer candidates hybrid working arrangements with the opportunity to work on-site in our nature reserve at Pensford Field, near Kew Gardens, 1-2 days per week.

The nature of the role may require occasional flexible hours such as occasional evenings to cover quarterly Board meetings and other events as necessitated by the needs of the charity. 

The TSA is seeking a highly experienced, confident and capable Head of Fundraising to provide leadership and direction on all aspects of income generation. The charity has gone from strength to strength over the last 24 months, including income generation, and we are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to continue this amazing work.  

Working closely with the TSA’s Joint Chief Executives, you’ll join the Senior Management Team and will be expected to successfully implement our new three-year fundraising strategy, which aims to diversify and raise income in a sensible yet ambitious way.

The chosen candidate will have experience of developing multiple income streams, building and maintaining meaningful relationships with existing and new supporters and demonstrable exceptional communication skills.

Head of Fundraising responsibilities 

Strategic, leadership and management 

• Provide leadership for fundraising and income generation across the TSA team. Attend regular strategy meetings and be a leading voice in shaping the TSA’s income generation activities 

• Lead in the development, implementation and review of fundraising polices and strategy ensuring they are in line with the overall organisation business plan 

• Provide line management for the Fundraising Manager and Grants and Trusts Manager, including regular meetings and ensuring that the fundraising team are fulfilling all areas of their roles, meeting agreed KPI’s and achieving set income targets 

• Lead on the annual business planning and budget cycle for the income generation 

• Effectively collect and analyse data to demonstrate income trends, the impact of fundraising and income generation. Use this data to inform quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees, determine the impact of the team’s work and drive continual improvements in policy and practice 

• Attend and actively contribute to weekly TSA team meetings 

Income Generation and partnership 

• Lead on all income generation activities, with a focus on developing new fundraising initiatives for corporate giving, major donor fundraising, legacy giving and TSA appeals 

• Develop and deliver short and long-term fundraising and partnership strategy for the TSA. Ensure that the TSA has a balanced portfolio, and the fundraising team successfully delivers income across multiple streams

• Working closely with the Joint Chief Executives and Grants and Trusts Manager, expand the TSA’s range of research funding sources to include public, academic, commercial and innovation funding alongside investment from the TSA itself 

• Accurately forecast and monitor against income generation targets 

• Identify opportunities to work with partners on areas of common interest where the TSA can achieve more through joint funding, gifts in kind (such as time or services) or delivering joint projects than the charity could do by working alone 

• Ensure the TSA’s fundraising policies, procedures are up to date and that all fundraising activities comply with law and the Fundraising Regulator guidelines 

• Continue to maintain established, and develop new relationships with potential fundraising supporters and partners across all sectors 

Marketing and communications responsibilities 

• Work closely with the communications team to develop inspiring fundraising campaigns, appeals, cases for support and content for distribution across all digital platforms,including social media, e-newsletters and Scan magazine, website and fundraising platforms 

• Continue to strengthen our supporter engagement plans to identify and build excellent working relationships that leads to increase income 

General responsibilities 

• Adhere to all TSA policies, procedures, values and behaviours 

• Comply with all internal and external Health and Safety requirements and complete Risk Assessments as appropriate 

• Work as part of a small fundraising team, you will enjoy taking on new challenges and happy to work flexibly as the TSA continues to develop and grow

The post holder must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation. This may entail occasional evening and weekend work. Occasional travel within the UK may be required for team meetings and events.

Exams Assistant

As Exams Assistant you will support the day to day running of the examinations with a particular focus on question bank management. You will be working with the Examinations Team and examiners across all specialties. This will include supporting examiner panels to organise and run question writing sessions and ensuring that question banks remain up to date.

You will also have a number of other examination-related duties, including – but not limited to – processing applications, invigilating at examination and collating examination results.

About the role 

As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.

Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. At Crisis we always champion the voices and experiences of the people who we support. You’ll help create bold and hard-hitting news stories to engage our audiences and bring to life some of our biggest organisational campaigns, like our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists. 

About you 

You will have: 

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist. 

• Experience of supporting with or delivering impactful media campaigns or stories that have helped secure quality coverage in national and regional news outlets, as well as softer consumer features.

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy for a range of audiences, including political, consumer, tabloid, trade and everything in between. 

• Experience of working with case studies, identifying and preparing stories for the media and empowering people to share their experiences.

• Strong news sense, with a good working knowledge of the UK media, including digital media production, with experience of creating digital first coverage and amplifying campaign messages creatively in the digital sphere.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role overview

The Communications Executive will co-ordinate and contribute to the planning, implementation, and optimisation of all internal and external communications. This will range from attraction campaigns, public relations, and the internal engagement calendar and events.

The role will co-ordinate production of communications for target audiences from beginning to end – from planning, writing, and editing of copy to measuring effectiveness of communications. In addition, the role will have responsibility for the Now Teach website.

Role Description

• Manage and create content for community management, including social media and internal communication channels

• Create and maintain an annual content plan to applicants and career changers in our Network.

• Write and produce interesting and engaging articles, social media content, monthly newsletters, marketing emails and webpages that help people consider career change to teaching.

• Oversee the functionality of the website, evaluate, and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management, and develop, maintain, and update website content.

• Creatively drive our social media channels and blogs, increasing engagement and followers.

• Research topics and conduct interviews to write blog articles and create other content.

• Make sure content planning is informed by audience insight, finding out what topics resonate for applicants and career changers in our Network.

• Build relationships with Now Teach’s career-changers and the Programme team that supports them, enabling you to understand the experience of career-changers, identify remarkable stories and find the right person to tell them.

• Take responsibility for organising and promoting our attraction/public affairs events to meet sign-up and attendance targets.

Role Requirements

The role holder will assist in maintaining high standards of professional competence and integrity in the finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Finance in running the overall finance department.

Oversight of the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger

Responsibility for internal controls; prompt reconciliations of control accounts, separation of duties, and compliance with proscribed systems of authorisation

Assist in the preparation of annual accounts, in compliance with the SORP and relevant GAAP.  Liaison with external and internal auditors

Lead in preparation of the annual cash flow forecast, and preparation of monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual

Bank reconciliations and posting of transactions

Month end processes and journals

Manage the purchase ledger function, ensuring the ledger is kept clean and at an acceptable level.  Ensure the Purchase Ledger Manager is maintaining the sub ledgers within purchase ledger

Assist with the credit control function, in liaison with relevant service leads. This will be supported by KPIs

Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance

About the role

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing The Passage's Community Fundraising strategy, designed to inspire and engage both existing and new supporters, ultimately building a stable and sustainable income pipeline.

Main duties

• Help deliver the teams’ existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.

IPD operates in 17 African and Asian countries. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world's poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Water Security Lead, the Senior Advisor Water Security co-leads the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the thematic areas of water and other closely associated topics. Applying a people-centered, systems strengthening approach to WASH, they provide high-quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, they co-lead the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-leads the development of relevant standards and guidance.

The Water Security Senior Advisor will:

Provide and coordinate targeted technical support to Wateraid programming (approximately 50% of time)

• Provide in-depth strategic and technical advisory support on water security, water resources and environment, catchment and watershed protection, hydrogeology, water supply, water quality, services delivery and management models, engineering and procurement, assets management, resilience, sustainability, and/or other inter-related topics for high quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, including households, schools, health care facilities and/or other relevant public places, incorporating WaterAid's and the sector's leading practices, innovations and methods.
• Coordinate with other technical colleagues for coherent embedding of cross-cutting topics such as gender, climate, systems strengthening, finance, and partnerships.
• Provide high quality, detailed technical analysis and advisory support to project design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments.
• Co-lead the facilitation of thought leadership on these technical topics across the organisation. Act as a subject-matter authority.

Support programme learning and knowledge management (approx. 15% time)

• Co-lead capturing of organisational programme knowledge and experience on water-related topics.
• Co-lead facilitation of effective learning and knowledge management on these topics across the organisation. Guide and support country and regional colleagues to do the same.
• Identify knowledge and implementation gaps on these topics. Coordinate with relevant teams to develop and carry out practical research plans.

Support development of programme guidance and standards (approx. 5% time)

• Co-lead the development of water-related normative frameworks, standards and guidance materials for both internal and external audiences in collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues.
• Support country, regional and global colleagues to develop a consistent understanding and application of water-related technical considerations into WaterAid's core programme work, and in applying relevant guidance, standards and considerations to their specific context.

Support fundraising, external engagement, and communications (approx. 20% time)

• Support donor engagement, intelligence gathering, and preparation of funding proposals.
• Provide strategic technical input into specific strategic initiatives and positioning alongside the other advisors.
• Coordinate with other teams in jointly engaging the WASH sector at all levels. Foster, promote and support global WASH related networks to enhance WaterAid's ability to share its experience and to learn from others.

• Be an integral part of the PSK team, helping to ensure the integration of our support work and a joined-up articulation of our core framing materials.

About You:

• Strong technical experience in water supply engineering, groundwater development, water resource and environmental management, catchment and watershed protection, hydrogeology, water quality, service delivery and management models, procurement, asset management, resilience building, sustainability, and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong experience in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting the needs of diverse audiences.

Do you have helpline or call centre experience?  Are you good at communicating on the telephone?  Do you enjoy helping people to find information and solutions to challenges?  Are you approachable and a good communicator? We need you to join our high volume, friendly helpline team of staff and volunteers, answering calls and providing information and support to older people in Croydon.

Our helpline is a first point of contact for many older people and their families and carers as they tackle a variety of issues around finance, social engagement, housing and council tax, travel concessions such as Blue Badge and Taxi card.  You will play a crucial role in answering our busy Information & Advice Helpline phone: listening carefully and sympathetically to callers, finding solutions to their queries or issues and. The role is varied and very rewarding, and no two days are the same.

• Providing information and signposting to callers to our Helpline and to people enquiring by email
• Entering new client referrals on our database and recording each new enquiry on our systems
• Supporting and supervising volunteers within the I&A Team

Global Fishing Watch (GFW) is an international, nonprofit organization committed to advancing ocean governance through increased transparency. We create and publicly share knowledge about human activity at sea to enable fair and sustainable use of our ocean. Founded in 2015 through a collaboration between Oceana, SkyTruth, and Google, Global Fishing Watch became an independent nonprofit organization in June 2017. Using cutting-edge technology, we create and publicly share map visualizations, data and analysis tools to enable scientific research and drive a transformation in how we manage our ocean. Our major focus is on commercial fishing because it is the most widespread human activity at sea, the most impactful on ocean health, and the most crucial for global livelihoods and food security. By 2030, we aim to monitor and visualize the impact of ocean-going vessels, both industrial and small-scale, that are responsible for the vast majority of the global seafood catch. We believe human activity at sea should be common knowledge in order to safeguard the global ocean commons for the common good of all. 

About the Role:
We are hiring a Fundraising Grants and Reporting Manager at an exciting time for the organization. In April 2023, Global Fishing Watch secured a five-year, US$60 million commitment through The Audacious Project to leverage our data and technology to revolutionize ocean management. This new role will play a foundational part in establishing the grant management process at Global Fishing Watch and shaping its future. You will play a key role in developing and implementing the grant management system and processes, ensuring our fundraising team can deliver first class stewardship and relationship management. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, the prime responsibilities of this position are to support fundraising and consequently program teams in ensuring compliant, timely and high-quality donor reporting and grant management and knowledge management. Qualified candidates will bring proven experience coordinating with team members to gather necessary information and translate it into reports that effectively engage and inspire funders. They will need to meticulously review reports to identify gaps and follow up for clarifications as needed. The role requires strong written and oral communications skills, the ability to build and maintain new relationships, and a talent for enhancing existing partnerships.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Grant management:

• Manage the tracking, preparation and submission of funder reports, including working with the project and finance teams to produce timely and accurate narrative and financial reports.
• Improve processes and support coordination of grant opening, review  and closing meetings, working with teams in the UK and globally to ensure clear assignment and understanding of responsibilities in relation to compliance, management and deadlines.
• Work with finance, compliance and program teams to ensure that all grant-funded projects comply with the terms and conditions set by funders.
• Work with program and finance teams to ensure effective systems and processes are in place for grant management and compliance, such as for tracking grant timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with colleagues and partners to gather necessary insights and information for donor reports, translating program activities and learning into clear funding reports that effectively communicate our impact to our funders and supporters.
• Contribute to Global Fishing Watch’s annual report as needed, and provide updates to the communications team on relevant website copy, specifically the donor information on the financials web page.
• Ensure all grant documentation is stored and updated in relevant systems.
• Conduct regular meetings with program and finance teams to review grant performance and expenditure.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with grant compliance, such as underperformance, budget overspend/underspend, or missed deadlines.
• Work with finance and program teams to develop contingency plans for addressing challenges that may arise during the grant lifecycle.
• Share ideas, information and learning to contribute to grant management systems and processes, and to support broader learning with partners and donors.
• Support, advise and coach the Global Fishing Watch team to successfully contribute to grant management efforts.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of four years of progressively responsible administrative, finance, operations, project management or related experience.
• Grant administration experience, including demonstrated expertise in managing complex, multi-year grants with multiple reporting and compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial management and budgeting, particularly in the context of grant-funded projects.
• Experience of effective and values-based partnership work between international and local organizations and communities.
• Excellent oral communication, writing and editing skills. Demonstrated experience/training in report writing and expressing complex concepts and issues in a clear, effective manner for a broad range of audiences

Recruiting process: If selected for consideration, the hiring process for this position will include a call with our Talent Acquisition Manager, followed by a  formal 60 minute interview with 2-3 staff, a brief take home assignment, and a final 60 minute review of your assignment/final interview with 2-3 team members.

Working Hours: Global Fishing Watch supports flexible working, so the pattern of hours may vary according to operational and personal needs. The position will be part of a global team spanning many different time zones and so the candidate must be able to accommodate regular early/late meetings to be able to work effectively. Weekend work may be required on occasion. The post holder may be required to undertake regional and international travel. No overtime is payable.

Compensation: A compensation range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year for US-based employees, EUR 50,000-60,000 for candidates based in Europe, and GBP 50,000-60,000 for candidates based in the UK. For applicants located outside of these options, the pay range will be adjusted to the country of hire. Compensation is commensurate with experience and will vary depending on the hired candidate’s country of residence, in accordance with local laws and regulations. GFW offers pension/retirement, health and other benefits commensurate with similar level GFW employees in the country of employment. Send My Friend to School Campaign Manager

This is a full time post, based in central London Salary: £40,291

The coalition

Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.

It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe. Each year thousands of schools and young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices in chorus with others across the globe to create positive change.

Send My Friend to School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education movement which is present in over 90 countries around the world.

Location

This role will be employed by Send My Friend to School Steering Group member Results UK, on behalf of the Send My Friend to School coalition, and will be based in Results UK’s office near Waterloo. Hybrid working is in place whereby staff are required to work from the office at least 2 days a week. 

Terms & Conditions

This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post, with a 3 month probation period. There is likely to be occasional evening and weekend work involved, for which time off in lieu will be received. Holidays are 25 days pro rata per year plus bank holidays. Results UK’s terms and conditions of employment will apply.

Line Management

Although working solely on Send My Friend to School coalition activities the Campaign Manager will be employed as part of the Results UK team. Consequently, they will be formally managed by the Results UK Head of Parliamentary Advocacy in terms of workplace-related and employment issues.

The postholder’s work objectives will be agreed and monitored by the Steering Group and the postholder will report to the Steering Group on work priorities, objectives and outcomes.

Role Description 

The purpose of this role is:

1. Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Send My Friend to School campaign 

2. Coordinate the Send My Friend to School coalition, engaging the membership, managing the finances and coalition communications, and offering support to the working groups

3. Line manage the Send My Friend to School Campaigns Officer

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Send My Friend to School campaign

• Lead the development of a collaborative campaign strategy on a selected theme under the umbrella of Sustainable Development Goal 4

• Develop a campaign narrative based on the selected theme) which our schools audience can readily engage with and be motivated by

• Manage the design and production of schools materials and learning resources, including sourcing suppliers, story gathering in conjunction with coalition partners, content production and editing

• Oversee the development and promotion of a creative action which is appropriate for a schools audience, is highly innovative and allows for varied levels of engagement and activity: work with coalition colleagues in devising and promoting the campaign through member organisations’ networks and more widely through additional education channels, social media and websites, to ensure mass participation

• Manage the development and promotion of the Send My Friend to School website, social media, e-communications to supporters and writing and editing engaging digital communications 

• Be accountable for the coalitions’ youth work activities (Campaign Champions Programme and Young Ambassadors Network) that are managed by the Campaigns Officer

• Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and learning for the campaign

Coordinate the Send My Friend coalition

• Manage internal communications for the coalition and undertake engagement work with coalition member representatives to ensure active participation in coalition activities, good information flows, and to help ensure that activities across the coalition are well aligned and strategic

• Be the first point of contact for existing and potential coalition members and developing new partnerships, for instance with other campaigning organisations working on education for all

• Organise Joint Working Group and Steering Group meetings, ensuring that minutes are written up (by Campaigns Officer) and action points are taken forward

• Manage the coalition budget and financial reporting to the Steering Group, and undertake an annual fundraising drive from coalition members

• Maintain and update the website with news, publications and relevant content and ensure member lists and email groups are kept up to date

• Act as the UK link person with GCE International – the primary point of contact for GCE regionally (Europe and North America) as well as internationally/globally - researching and compiling coalition updates where required, participating in international conference calls, fielding appropriate information to coalition members and collating feedback as necessary

• Collaborate with working group members and the APPG secretariat on planning and delivery of activities including policy papers, launch events or meetings with parliamentarians

• Support coalition colleagues in gathering and collating inputs on policy documents, meetings, events, campaign plans and activities

• Where fundraising opportunities exist engage the coalition to increase and diversify its funding base and enable expansion of the schools campaigning activities

Line Management

• Line management of the part-time Send My Friend Campaigns Officer

• Undertake any other duties, appropriate to the post, as requested by the Steering Group

• Work out-of-hours and at weekends as necessary to provide effective support when needed, for example during party conferences or parliamentary events
