We’re seeking an Events Administrator to join our ambitious Support, Research and Influencing team. 

You will play a vital role in our team to ensure health professionals across the UK have a better awareness and understanding of pancreatic cancer and the complex supportive care needs of those affected. You can be proud to know that you’re playing a part in these services which will ultimately improve the standard of support and care received by people affected by pancreatic cancer from their healthcare team. 

Some of the main responsibilities are:

• Ensuring our data is accurate, up to date and well maintained within our database, by collating, preparing, and cleaning up a high-volume of data from our events, online courses, and other engagement activities.
• Provide administration of our virtual educational events and online courses to support the success and smooth delivery, and to increase understanding and awareness of pancreatic cancer.
• Provide admin support to colleagues in Research, Influencing and Devolved Nations for in-person events focused on improving the standard of diagnosis, treatment, and care in pancreatic cancer.

The Organisation

This role is within our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 70 education organisations, serving more than a quarter of million pupils. This includes helping our partners to design high-quality research projects, delivering them, and providing systems and tools for data collection, reporting and impact benchmarking.

The Opportunity

The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.

Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:

• Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress
• Working with school leaders and teachers to implement research in their setting - for example on projects like our Understanding Attendance research
• General support for partnership delivery and administrative tasks working with different team members
• Standardised reporting and data analysis – this will require good attention to detail and working with Excel and MS Office Suite

About You

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and we are open to a range of backgrounds:

• Understanding and experience of the UK education system
• Experience of working within an administrative or customer service/partner focused role

As part of the wider Enterprise team, our Commercial Marketing Assistant will help devise and deliver marketing campaigns and strategies that will grow audiences and increase revenues across our key commercial income streams. The successful candidate will oversee, coordinate, and manage our commercial marketing channels concentrating on finding and developing new partnerships alongside the Head of Enterprise, marketing and promoting our major sites for partnership working with external organisations.

They will:

1. Assist in the production of marketing collateral and material for the B2B market and the promotion of the Champing brand.

2. Work alongside the Communications team to assist in drafting content and key messages for social media, websites and PR, all of which should adhere to CCT brand guidelines. Handle incoming commercial marketing enquiries as appropriate.

3. Liaise with prospective filming enquiries and work with the local teams to help deliver commercial filming contracts.

4. Build positive working relationships, with internal and external stakeholders, to build on existing opportunities, promote and drive engagement with commercial opportunities.

5. Conduct marketing and audience research, to help support and deliver future revenue growth and gather data to report against KPIs and targets.

6. Support in the delivery and wider administration of commercial operations, working with the Enterprise team and freelancers on the ground. The overarching goal will be to grow CCT's commercial revenues.

• Proactively monitor our social media channels, responding as relevant.

About us 

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. Last Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.

Contract: Fixed term contract from 10 September 2024 to 28 February 2025 

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required. 

Location: Canning Town Warehouse, Unit 4 SEGRO Park, London E16 4ES  - three days per week onsite

About the role 

As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London.  Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of customer service and ability to deal with working with partner organisations and donors via phone and email in a professional and friendly manner. 

• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities  

• Excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.   

• Strong problem-solving skills and the adaptability to modify plans in response to unexpected complications.  

• Good communicator who considers their audience and can work efficiently as part of a team.

• In order to realise this ambition, we need to increase our fundraised income for the period 2024 -2027 to £1.6million.
   
• Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups and grant giving trusts and foundations. You'll be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.
   
• Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. You’ll have the capacity to create and craft compelling proposals and appeals that successfully engage and attract donations from new and existing supporters.

Through the design and delivery of excellent, engaging and regular stewardship communications and powerful fundraising appeals, you will grow our income and pool of individual supporters making one off or monthly donations. You’ll also explore and implement ways of promoting Eastbourne Food Bank across the community to successfully attract an ever-greater number of individual donors.

About RLS 

RLS is a UK charity and a non-profit company in Greece (AMKE). 

Refugee Legal Support works in solidarity with people who migrate. We operate in the UK, France and Greece, promoting and protecting rights through legal support, casework, litigation, engagement, training and partnerships. We advocate for safe migration and oppose discriminatory immigration systems and policies.

RLS has held a legal aid contract in the UK since 2023. 

About the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI)

The Afghan Pro Bono Initiative is a specialist casework project delivered by RLS with funding and pro bono assistance from 14 leading commercial law firms. It is a project delivered in partnership with SPI. 

Firm pro bono lawyers are trained and supervised by the project’s two full-time supervising lawyers so that they can then assist with legal casework.

APBI has two core components. The team delivers legal information and support to and within the Afghan community, working together with the Community Engagement and Research Lead to ensure wide access. While the project also provides high quality legal representation in a range of cases for this community. This includes family reunion, the ARAP scheme, the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme and others. 

APBI then aims to respond to the increased need for legal information, advice and representation of Afghan nationals and their family members forced to seek protection and reunion with family in the United Kingdom following the Taliban takeover. The project is now going into its 3rd year, and won the Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership Award at the Law Works Pro Bono Awards in 2022 as well as being nominated and commended for numerous other awards in 2022 and 2023. 

The casework of this project feeds into strategic research, policy and advocacy efforts to make existing ‘safe’ routes to protection (in particular refugee family reunion and resettlement schemes) more accessible and effective, advocate for their expansion and defend the fundamental rights of people on the move by influencing policy and decision making. 

Litigation arising out of the project is actively pursued (where eligible) under RLS’s legal aid contract to push for better decision-making, secure results for individuals and pursue improvements in the relevant law, policy and practices. 

RLS recognise that pro bono legal work is always an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, an adequate system of publicly funded legal services. 

Key responsibilities and objectives

The post holder will be a staff member of Refugee Legal Support. They will be a participant within the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative project team, which comprises two lawyers (the other being at SPI), a coordinator and a Community Engagement and Research Lead in addition to the volunteer lawyers from the individual commercial firm partners. 
 

Key responsibilities

• Manage a small caseload and provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients;

• Supervise the work of volunteer pro bono commercial lawyers on cases;

• Deliver training to pro bono commercial lawyers;

• Ensure that all legal work is promptly and accurate recorded on RLS’s case management system and keep relevant time recording; 

• Develop and disseminate relevant information on legal developments in this area for relevant stakeholders, including both the Afghan Community and building the capacity of other practitioners;

• Work in close collaboration with the other project Lawyer/s to develop and share experiences and best practice in relation to all aspects of casework (legal, evidential and procedural) and relevant internal processes;

• Work in close collaboration with the Legal Director, Programmes Manager and Coordinator to ensure that appropriate steps to achieve the aims and objectives of the project are taken, including ensuring that relevant data is obtained and assisting with the timely completion of the project Operational Plan/s;

• Work in close collaboration with the APBI Coordinator and Programmes Manager to contribute to the production of materials such as project periodic reports, information on emerging and strategic issues in relation to ‘safe’ routes for use in advocacy, content for newsletters, social media posts and articles to raise awareness of the project and its aims and outputs;

• Participate in, and contribute to, RLS’s monitoring, evaluation and learning framework;

• Be an active member of the RLS team participating in team meetings at both the UK and International level: engaging in a collegiate and collaborative environment that includes participating in the development of a new and exciting legal organisation; 

• Be an active and collaborative member of the APBI Project team together with the other Lawyer/s, Coordinator and Community Engagement and Research Lead;

• Work in close collaboration with the Community Engagement and Research Lead to contribute to the production of information sheets and other materials to disseminate to the Afghan community/ies;

Person Specification

Essential

• Be either a member of the Bar, a solicitor and accredited to IAAS Senior caseworker level, accredited to IAAS Senior caseworker level, or OISC accredited to Level 3;

• Experience of asylum casework;

• Experience of refugee family reunion procedures and applications, including applications outside of the Immigration Rules reliant on Article 8 ECHR and other human rights provisions;

• Experience of online immigration applications; 

• Demonstrable knowledge of legal aid provision and ECF applications; 

• Demonstrable supervision experience; 

• Experience of and commitment to working in a collaborative way on legal cases;

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English;

• Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines;

• Strong attention to detail, responsiveness, reliability and dependability;

• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and an ability to deal professionally and collaboratively with both legal and not-for-profit stakeholders;

• Computer literacy;

• Right to reside and work in the UK;

• Enjoy working with a small team in a flexible and fast-paced environment, as well as being an independent self-starter able to work with a high degree of autonomy;

• Have a strong commitment to upholding the human rights of asylum seekers, migrants, and refugees;

• The successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate (we cover the cost). However, a criminal record is not a barrier to the role.

• Those with lived experience of navigating immigration systems are strongly encouraged to apply and will be favourable considered;

We are looking to recruit a French speaking Senior Project Coordinator to lead on FIGO deliverables for a WHO project on FP (Family PLanning) and CAC (Comprehensive Abortion Care) competency based learning (CBL). You will lead on coordination of the following in five countries in Africa and Asia (TBC): This is pending the donor contract.

• Developing a strategy for the dissemination of the "Family planning and comprehensive abortion care toolkit for the primary health care workforce" and “ICM Competencies” in collaboration with stakeholders. 
• Conducting assessments of FP and CAC competency education and performance gaps.

About the role

For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.

Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.

Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.

As a permanent member of Platform staff, you will also participate in the collective decision-making and running of Platform as an organisation, as well as having fundraising responsibilities alongside your project work. 

Details

Hours: 4 days (32 hours per week based on a 40 hour week)

Contract: Permanent contract, subject to 6 months’ probationary period.

Salary: Baseline salary is £42,248 pro rata (£33,791 at 4 days a week) and is subject to Platform’s Socially Just Waging System.

Location: Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, London E2 6HG. Many Platform staff members choose to work primarily from home: flexible remote working can be negotiated to suit circumstances.

You thrive on movement building and supporting networks of activists to do their best work. You have strong connections in climate and social justice movements at large.

You understand how change happens, and are experienced in practical approaches that secure small but consistent wins. You understand how political institutions work, particularly local councils and/or UK and Scottish Parliament. You may have experience in insider advocacy, and have worked with policymakers to make change happen. Ideally, you also have a working understanding of how financial institutions such as pension schemes support the fossil fuel industry.

You are deeply motivated by Platform’s visions and values, and feel enthusiastic at the prospect of operating within a flat-structured organisation. You have a strong understanding of climate justice in relation to a wider context of capitalism and white supremacy.

You are interested in creative campaigning that makes use of arts and culture, and have a strong track record of developing trusting relationships. You have experience engaging with press media in a strategic way.

You enjoy working in a team, take pride in and responsibility for your work, and believe in collaborative, consensus based decision-making. 

Fauna & Flora’s Scotland team is actively working to develop ways to offer further in-depth support to the community groups we work with to address the barriers that they identify and are looking to build our input in the terrestrial sphere, including taking part in conversations around rapidly developing nature finance mechanisms, and increasing our stakeholder network. This is an exciting stage for the team, as we further develop aspirations around land-based community conservation, as well as support the Coastal Communities Network (CCN) on their journey towards independence as a community-governed network. 

This internship is a valuable learning opportunity for someone with an interest in community-led conservation in Scotland. You will work across the Scotland team, engaging with colleagues within the wider Eurasia regional programme and relevant cross-cutting teams, as well as locally-based partners and contacts. You will gain knowledge of the current conservation context in Scotland, increase your understanding of project development within small teams, build your networks and support the planning and running of workshops and events. More specifically, you will play a key supporting role in the development of our work in Scotland through: desk-based research on community-led conservation, updating stakeholder mapping, network research, supporting key meetings, and a review of Scotland’s national and international nature obligations. There is also the opportunity to support the organisation and delivery of the CCN annual gathering in October 2024 and planned community workshops later in the year, as well as to engage in national policy consultations.

Note that this internship has been designed to create a professional development opportunity for people who are new to the conservation sector. Therefore, applicants should have less than two years paid or unpaid experience in the conservation sector (not including academic work).

Pancreatic Cancer Action are excited to be seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Supporter Care and Fundraising Co-Ordinator to join our fabulous Fundraising Team.  This is a varied role where no two days will be the same.

Our incredible supporters are at the heart of all that we do at Pancreatic Cancer Action. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with our fantastic supporters daily. Providing them with the tools, knowledge and materials they need to help reach and exceed their fundraising targets. From head shaves to cake sales, dress-down days to extreme sports. You will be the first point of call for all fundraising enquiries and be on hand to provide bespoke stewardship support to ensure we develop long-lasting relationships with our PCA community, groups and companies across the UK.

 

Main responsibilities:  

• Provide admin and operational support to the Fundraising Team
• Accurately record and manage data using the Salesforce CRM system.
• Ensure that fundraisers and supporters get timely correspondents by email or phone.
• Inspire supporters through innovative new stewardship ideas, sending out relevant materials and offering support and advice to enhance their event/fundraising.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing supporters, helping them to exceed their fundraising targets and inspiring them to become life-long supporters.
• Update all event portals with fundraising details and complete the registration process on time.
• Monitor and input data from various fundraising platforms onto our Salesforce database to ensure accurate reporting on income from events/fundraising.
• Take ownership of fundraising tracker to ensure first class stewardship is provided to all supporters.
• Supporting community-based fundraising volunteers and groups.
• Work collaboratively with the fundraising and marketing team to ensure that email templates, cards and certificates remain up to date and relevant to our audiences.
• Work with the fundraising team to identify ways to surprise and delight our fundraisers and ultimately build long term relationships with a consistent approach.

Kingston Charitable Foundation (Kingston CF) is growing - in 3 years we’ve doubled our staff team thanks to a grant from the City Bridge Foundation and to date we’ve awarded over 130 grants to local charities, and community groups, who share our vision to build stronger communities where everyone’s needs are met.  We are a Place Based Giving scheme that is part of the London Funders movement.

We have also developed and delivered new participatory grant making programmes for the benefit of local individuals and families.

Now we’re looking for a confident, creative, and proactive Development Manager to join our small but dynamic Kingston CF family and develop and manage our fundraising development programme for both corporate and individual giving.  This role is the perfect fit for someone with entrepreneurial flair looking to make a real difference - both by helping to raise money for the Foundation’s vital work, and by ensuring our supporters feel valued and supported.

You’ll have innovative ideas to help us to secure new partnerships and nurture new and existing relationships to mobilise local giving. As an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts or corporate partnerships at the four figure level, you’ll have a can-do attitude and a capability for developing strong networks and contacts.

You will be outcome orientated and a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills too.

Experience

• At least three years of proven successful experience in major gifts or corporate partnerships fundraising of four figures or more.
• Proven ability to manage and develop diverse relationships.
• Excellent written and oral English language communication skills.
• Experience in writing and delivering persuasive copy for supporters.
• Thorough understanding of data protection and, specifically, UK GDPR requirements pertaining to fundraising and sponsorship work.
• Full understanding of fundraising guidelines the code of fundraising practice.
• Experience of using Salesforce or a similar CRM.

Essential skills

• Have excellent IT skills, including Office 365 / Excel.
• Have good communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational skills.

Kingston CF have no formal offices, this role is primarily home-based, with meetings in Kingston upon Thames and co-working days.

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston. We are a small, dedicated team with over 30 years' third sector experience between us, and we work closely with our very supportive Board of Trustees.
