We are delighted to be working with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity who are seeking an experienced and effective Executive Assistant to provide high-level, comprehensive administrative support to the charity’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

In this newly created role, you will be a highly efficient, articulate and astute Executive Assistant with experience of supporting senior leaders in a vibrant environment. You will be responsible for diary co-ordination and meeting support, including agendas and minutes - liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders, using due diligence, good judgement and discretion.

This is an extremely busy and varied role and an exciting opportunity at a time of significant growth and development within the air ambulance charity, so you will need to be highly organised with excellent time management skills, able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

You will have:

• A minimum of 3 years previous experience in a similar role, including working with senior management and establishing good working relationships at all levels.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prepare papers, reports and presentations, with effective minute-taking skills.
• Experience of managing administrative systems to improve efficiencies. Working closely with SLT and colleagues to ensure that departmental administrative support needs are being met.
• Experience of conducting research and gathering relevant information to aid senior decision-making, working on special projects and initiatives.
• Experience of handling sensitive organisational matters with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
• Knowledge with working within a health or clinical environment and / or charity would be beneficial, a good knowledge and understanding of charity governance and compliance is desirable. 

With a proactive approach, you will be able to work with minimal supervision under your own initiative. Able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, you will be able to communicate confidently, credibly and professionally at all levels, drafting well-written and structured communications and documents.  An excellent standard of English and maths is essential.

About you

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Manager to be responsible for the marketing and external communication of all RHN services and charitable activity. This is a specialist marketing and communications role and your primary focus will be on developing and running marketing campaigns, producing promotional materials and identifying opportunities for growth. Sightsavers is looking for a Senior Learning Advisor to lead on the implementation and continuous development of the Disability Inclusive Development programme's learning strategy.

The Disability Inclusive Development (DIDIF) programme started in July 2018 and is a six year, £29.5m FCDO funded commercial contract managed by Sightsavers DIDIF Fund Management Team (FMT). The DIDIF programme is managed using a payment-by-results and New Engineering Contract (NEC3) contracting model. It is also adaptively managed. The DIDIF consortium consists of ten partners who work on innovation and scale projects across the programme's four thematic areas: health, education, livelihoods and negative stereotyping and discrimination. We work in six countries: Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. The FMT is responsible for the programme's management: finance & risk; monitoring, evaluation and learning; adaptive management; reporting and quality assurance; governance; contract management; consortium management and donor relations.

The Senior Learning Advisor leads on the implementation and continuous development of the DIDIF programme's Learning Strategy (also called "the Learning Architecture"), a component of the DIDIF programme's MEL Strategy.

The Senior Learning Advisor leads on establishing the learning priorities for Learning Architecture's four operational areas (project, programme, consortium and organisation) and ensure those learning priorities meet the programme's strategic objectives. At this stage of the programme, the focus is upon delivery. Key duties include:

• Providing technical direction to all Learning Architecture projects and oversee implementation and delivery.
• They are responsible for the timely, quality delivery of learning products developed by the FMT.

• Leading teams to deliver programmatic, consortium and organisational learning products as well as delivering products individually.

• Managing quality control processes and tools to support consortium partners to deliver robust learning products

• Matrix-managing a project team of FMT members and/or consultants responsible for delivering programme, organisational and consortium learning products on time and on budget.

The Head of US Death Penalty Projects is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work against the death penalty in the United States of America.

 Background to Reprieve’s work against the death penalty in the US

 Reprieve has worked against the death penalty since our founding. In recent years we have built a particular specialism in issues relating to lethal injection, the most popular execution method in the US. Lethal injection has been touted as a more humane than other methods – a modern, clean, clinical way to execute. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Lethal injection executions go wrong more often than any other execution method, often resulting in prolonged and torturous executions, commonly known as “botched” executions. Through our work we aim to dispel the myth of the humane execution, working with allies across medicine, business and other sectors to end the misuse of medicines and medical technology in executions.

The existing portfolio of work includes litigation, investigation and analysis, corporate engagement, a wide range of public and private advocacy, and developing and maintaining world-leading expertise on execution methods, particularly the jurisprudence and science relevant to lethal injection.

About You

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—investigation, litigation, casework political and public engagement, support for and (where possible and appropriate) advocacy with affected communities—connect with one another to achieve positive outcomes in the death penalty landscape and address structural rights violations.

Location, contract and salary

The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance. Reprieve works across a number of jurisdictions; as such this is a role that may require work outside of core hours from time to time. • Ensure every Emergency Department has a suitable bereavement suite

• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

However, we know that gaps in support for those suddenly bereaved still exist outside of Wales. And so we are expanding into England and are on the lookout for passionate and committed individuals who want to help push the charity to the next level.

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate, and longer-term support to families, individuals, professionals and witnesses. Since we were established in 2012, we have grown to deliver our service across the whole of Wales.

In January 2024, we expanded the geographical area and recruited a brand-new team to deliver the service in the border counties of England and Wales, namely Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. This will be the first of several phases of expansion and the aim is to deliver our service throughout England and Wales in the coming years.

The post holder will lead an effective and cohesive management team across England and Wales overseeing the development and delivery of specialist services for individuals affected by sudden and unexpected death in children and young people aged 25 and under. They will ensure the team provide the highest standards of support, and that services are shaped by the needs of those who access them.

The key objectives of the post are:

• To lead upon delivery of support services across England and Wales, ensuring services are delivered consistently to a high quality and are embedded across a growing geographical area. To embed a growing team and develop relevant strategic priorities.
• To motivate, lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic services to families, friends, professionals, witnesses and individuals affected by sudden death.
• To establish pan-phase partnerships with key stakeholders to embed and develop referral pathways and raise awareness of the charity and its services.
• To work closely with the CEO, Director of Operations, Director of Transformation and Strategy and the wider Leadership Team promoting effective cross-team working that contributes to the overall objectives of 2wish and 2wish Cymru.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

1.0. Support services:

• To oversee outstanding service delivery across England and Wales that responds flexibly to emerging need in line with the business plan, key deliverables, budget and policies and procedures
• To leading on effective delivery and scaling up of services throughout the expansion phases
• To work closely with the Director of Transformation and Strategy to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery that aims to embed the service within existing child death procedures
• To oversee and monitor financial performance, ensuring effective deployment of resources and compliance against agreed targets/budgets
• To be responsible for Safeguarding and work with designated Safeguarding Officers to ensure services are safe for supported persons, staff, counsellors and therapists, volunteers, external partners and other key stakeholders
• To carry out regular risk assessments for services. Ensuring safeguarding concerns are followed up systematically, including making referrals to statutory services
• To oversee high-quality assurance of the service through monitoring of quality assurance systems, audits, management of complaints and learning from disruption
• To work with managers and Senior Leaders in the development and definition of new services, ensuring that operational procedures which support service delivery are fit for purpose
• To taking a hands-on approach to dealing with complex or difficult cases, particularly in new areas as we expand
• To oversee and further develop monitoring and evaluation processes to clearly demonstrate the impact the service has on individuals supported
• To contribute towards applications and reports for funders/ grants etc. in line with milestones /objectives and funding agreements
• To attend formal and informal meetings with the 2wish Senior Management Team and as required with the Trustee Board to review and report on progress

2.0. Leadership:

• To provide clear and visible leadership for a growing support team, with a specific focus upon leading and developing the support managers, taking overall responsibility and accountability for their management, performance, quality of their outputs, including recruitment/retention, induction, training and development, performance management and succession planning
• To lead and motivate staff in the performance of their duties in a way which encourages loyalty, dedication and high professional standards, in line with 2wish Cymru and 2wish ethos, values and determined by the Leadership team and Trustee Board in our strategic plan
• To further develop a positive approach to change and growth in line with expansion plans and the subsequent changes to staffing and areas of service delivery
• To establish and maintain effective working relationships on a local and national with referral partners and key stakeholders including police, health and professionals involved in child death procedures
• To oversee the development of training packages to encourage education and awareness around the experiences of those affected by sudden death
• To work closely with the CEO and Leadership team to support the work of 2wish nationally
• To ensure that the voices and needs of those affected by sudden death in children and young people are at the centre of decision making in Wales and England
• To work to the policies and procedures of the organisation, to promote these with staff and to ensure that they are maintained and developed appropriately. Keeping up to date with regulation, guidance, standards, government policy and research relating to sudden child death

3.0. General:

In 2023, we launched an online information hub for our carers where they can find out about services that can support them in their journey. This currently sits separate to our main site. We are now working with Studio24 to bring these sites together, to create a unified user experience, with new website functionality. A key consideration for this development is our recent Department for Education contract to deliver high quality training to carers across England. As part of this service, we must ensure that carers can seamlessly book online or face-to-face training through our website. Additionally, they should have access to a wide range of online information and advice content. While some of this functionality exists within our current digital estate, not all of it does and there is room for improvement. Therefore, the redevelopment project aims to create a cohesive website experience with clear user journeys and new functionality.

Knowledge of the funding sector and the work of the charity, making a credible ambassador for the charity. Understands and implements good funder stewardship practice. Understands the requirements of the fundraising regulator, particularly as it applies to trusts and statutory funding.

Substantial (three or more years) proven track record of raising five and six figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations, or public bodies, and demonstrable experience of meeting financial targets.
