Cancer Research UK are looking for a Research Grant Manager to join our research funding team. In this role you will work independently to deliver the application and committee process for a defined portfolio of grant applications and awards

Our Research Funding Team is pivotal to ensuring that Cancer Research UK continues to fund and support a wealth of innovative, world-class cancer research that will contribute towards our vision of beating cancer.

As a Research Grants Manager, you will provide external researchers and host institution administrators with advice, guidance and support on Cancer Research UK's funding schemes, research policies, and grants management approach.

You'll have a strong understanding of the UK biomedical research environment and be comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple tasks. What will I be doing?

• Managing a portfolio of Cancer Research UK's applications and awards.

• Supporting the operations of a Funding Committee and its Expert Review Panels by handling queries, advising on and promoting specific funding schemes, preparing panel reports, meeting papers and meeting minutes, and providing written post-Committee feedback.

• Managing the peer review process, through the identification of appropriate referees and Expert Review Panel members.

• Reviewing the finances for each award and carrying out post-Committee meeting outcomes.

• Developing and maintaining strong and professional relationships with a network of CRUK researchers and host institution administrators; supporting grantees and applicants to manage their applications and awards.

To support this growth, we are looking for a Fundraising Grants Officer to play a crucial role in raising income from potential funders.

Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will be part of the philanthropy team and will make a significant contribution to delivering ambitious income generation plans from a range of income streams. Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our research projects and research funding plans.
• Develop a pipeline of low value-high volume applications to Trusts & Foundations; research, tailor templates and submit applications.
• Work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager on the development of a new programme of high value-low volume applications to Trusts & Foundations and support the submission of applications.
• Undertake research to identify individuals with an interest in medical research to support the development of a Major Donor fundraising programme.
• Undertake research on companies and assess their potential for partnership to support the development of a Corporate Partnerships programme.
• Organise meetings and events for prospective supporters and provide briefings for colleagues and senior volunteers.
• Work with the communications team to develop compelling case for support documents and other donor materials to attract support for our research projects.
• Manage and maintain records and monitor progress of applications and relationships, including working to agreed KPIs and ROI.

We will offer you

We will offer a salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience for a 36-hour week and double-matched pension contributions up to 10% max employer contribution.  We would like a full-time employee but are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE).  We offer 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) per year, excellent financial, health and social benefits and an opportunity to join a dedicated team making a difference to human health.  We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week with the option to work remotely for the remainder.

Endometriosis UK is the leading UK charity supporting those living with endometriosis. Formed in 1981, we offer information and support to women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis, for example through our website and information leaflets, and via our local support groups, Helpline and online forum. Areas of Responsibility

Planning and Logistics across Communications and Research: 

• Supporting event planning (e.g. managing venues, hospitality, invitations). 

• Working with our Research team to support fieldwork planning and travel.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a national medical charity to find their Prospect Research Executive. This is a One Year maternity cover role starting immediately.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working from their offices 2 days per week.

As Prospect Research Executive, you will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy Research & Operations and the Prospect Research Manager to deliver the prospect research, pipeline management and information management function within Philanthropy and Partnerships. By doing so, you will be making a major contribution to growing charity's high value supporter base; and to maximizing its engagement with existing and potential supporters.

• Deliver high quality prospect research briefings on individuals, trusts and corporates for P&P, members of the charity’s senior leadership as well as senior volunteers and board members.

A4ID is a global charity with a vision to see the law and lawyers play their full part in the global eradication of poverty. The mission of A4ID is to be an authoritative voice of the legal community, to inspire and enable lawyers to join the fight against poverty, and to ensure that legal support is available for those engaged in that fight.

A4ID seeks to recruit a dynamic, vibrant and experienced Policy, Research and Learning (PRL) Officer who will champion and be responsible for supporting the development of A4ID’s policy, research and learning portfolio. About the role:

The British Museum has built a reputable prospect research function which supports both Advancement and the Museum's wider management. Our research strategically harnesses information and data to drive fundraising decisions. We ensure we have the right tools, skills and networking that supports the Museum with its mission. Our internal service also includes the provision of non-philanthropic research for Trustee Business and other Museum departments.

Our research is regularly audited and designed to adhere to recommendations set out by The National Audit Office, and numerous internal policies and financial controls. As with any function, the processes in place are reviewed regularly to ensure we remain effective and compliant.

This post will focus on providing the Museum with exceptional due diligence reports. It will play a key role in supporting the work of the Advancement Operations Team.

The successful candidate will combine excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional research and prospecting skills, with a high level of accuracy and detail.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To take primary responsibility for Due Diligence for the department, including requests from senior leadership, ensuring the best possible standards are achieved.
• To provide briefing notes for key events (such as dinners) and support with researching prospects and donors for key stakeholders across the Museum.
• To champion use of the CRM database (Raiser's Edge) - taking primary responsibility for improving prospect and donor data, maintaining exceptional accuracy in the Prospect module and Notes tab on the Raiser's Edge database as well as monitor supporter data and ensure that supporters are appropriately canvassed, working with the Database Manager to devise technical solutions.
• To play an active role in ensuring supporter data compliance in accordance to the regulations specified in UK GDPR and The Fundraising Regulator.
• To assist in the training and supervision of new staff and volunteers within Advancement.
• Play an active role in greeting guests at Museum evening and breakfast events as necessary and where necessary attend events outside of general working hours (time off in lieu will be given).
• To deputise for the Research and Fundraising Priorities Manager.

Lead the delivery of two of ARUK’s major initiatives, Drug Discovery Alliance (DDA) and Brains for Dementia Research (BDR), and other initiatives as required:

· Ensure finances are effectively reported on and managed, working with the Research Funding and Finance teams

Monitor and disseminate the impact of the DDA and BDR, to effectively tell the story of the initiatives and identify gaps:

· Work with the Impact Officer to ensure data gathered from the programme meets the needs of the wider organisation in terms of communicating progress and impact

· Collaborate with teams across ARUK to provide reporting updates and promote successes

· Build strong relationships with people working within the initiatives, working with the Senior Research Manager and Partnerships Manager to identify further opportunities to maximise their value

· Work with the Public Involvement team to ensure the initiatives are reflective of the needs of people with lived experience

Support development of the strategic programme team’s strategy:

· Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the dementia research field

· Contribute to internal meetings, including discussions and content on strategic programmes and new initiatives

What we are looking for:

· A degree in relevant biomedical science or equivalent experience
