Your work with us will allow you to play a vital role in supporting people faced with hunger and loneliness and to champion community dining in communities up and down the country. You will be responsible for driving significant income growth from corporates - working with brands and businesses to reach challenging targets.
You will have a proven track record of securing new partnerships and be adept at relationship management. You will have significant new business experience in a charity setting and a background in securing six-figure sum support. As this is a hybrid role, you will need to live within a commutable distance of Vauxhall, London.

As a key member of our team, you will:
· Support our approach to securing both statutory income (grants and contracts) and voluntary income (trusts, corporates, major donors, individuals), in partnership with the Leadership Team.
· Working with the CEO to support organisational tendering and commercial income generation activities aligned with the strategy, coordinating solution design and written bids.
· Lead on grant identification- conduct research to identify potential grant and foundation funding opportunities
· Lead on grant applications – including the development of compelling grant proposals, you will manage the grant application process, including drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
· Working alongside the Director of Finance, support the preparation of budgets for tenders and fundraising.
· Ensure all our income generation activity is compliant with fundraising governance and legislation, including GDPR, PECR, and the Code of Fundraising Practice, and ensure our systems and processes (including the database and reporting) are compliant and fit for purpose in Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

The Role
The Internal Communications Team sits within the People Experience Team, who play a vital role in shaping people’s experience of the charity as a great place to work, volunteer and grow.

The Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families. It provides tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Project Assistant to support INQUEST’s National Lottery Heritage Fund project, Unlocking the INQUEST archive: memorialising death and resistance. This project encourages engagement with the INQUEST archive and memorialises state-related death and resistance through creative outputs including: 12-month consultation, artist’s residency, banner making, small scale events, archival research, film screenings and a podcast series.
Organised, motivated by logistics, system-orientated, able to react efficiently to pressure, change and multitasking, the ideal candidate will possess outstanding communications skills necessary to liaising with a varied audience, including bereaved families and other key project stakeholders. They will be experienced in handling telephone calls, email correspondence, administration systems, and key IT software packages. Working closely with the project manager and project staff, they will support all components of our heritage project, including organising events and travel, liaising with key stakeholders, project social media and general administration. In September 2024 The One Touch Switching Company ("TOTSCo") launched a revolutionary way for UK customers to switch their broadband and landline provider. TOTSCo was founded by the UK telecoms industry in June 2022 to help to introduce the One Touch Switching (OTS) service that all telecom providers should now be using to make it much easier for their customers to switch. TOTSCo is a member-owned and not-for-profit company whose purpose is to develop and operate a messaging platform (The TOTSCo Hub) which is central to OTS.
TOTSCo will recover its costs by charging industry members for use of the hub, and the anticipated annual turnover of the company is between £6m and £7m. TOTSCo has a team of over 25 people working on all aspects of OTS. In this role you'll get to work with a major technology firm that provides a managed service to TOTSCo.
Job Description
The Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the CEO in all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:
1. Job Purpose
- The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and comes with membership of the Executive Committee.
- The HoF is responsible for all financial control, reporting, statutory compliance and forecasting.
2. Manage the following functions including those that are outsourced providers (external accountants and managed service partner):
- Bookkeeping (outsourced)
- Annual external audit
- Operational banking relationship
- Cash flow and ensuring compliance with working capital requirements.
- Billing and debtor reconciliation (outsourced)
- Payroll including HMRC compliance and pension obligations. (outsourced)
- Complete VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant compliance requirements.
- Monitor all spend against spend authorities.
- Draft statutory accounts in accordance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Develop or specify development of accounting systems as necessary to meet the changing requirements of the business.
- Ad-hoc analysis
3. Forecasting & Planning
- Prepare the following:
- An annualised budget and medium- and long-term forecast for agreement with the board including the charging model for customers.
- Monthly management accounts and variance analysis from budget including potential cash flow issue.
4. Stakeholders
- Support the following key stakeholder in fulfilling their roles:
- CEO
- Board
- Cost-centre managers.
- External and where appropriate Internal Audit.
- Audit and Risk Committee
- 3rd parties including bookkeeping.
5. Knowledge
- The following systems are used extensively within TOTSCo:

Xero (with Spotlight add-in for forecasting and reporting)

The Successful Applicant
- Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, ICAEW etc)
- 5+ years PQE, ideally in a commercial environment
- Can demonstrate working independently and as finance lead with board responsibilities. (Experience in a SME preferable).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executive Support
• Provide intelligent diary management and full Executive Assistant support to the CEO and two members of the Senior management team
• Project support for the Executive team including drafting presentations and papers, research, presentation of statistics, attending volunteering sessions and assisting in scheduling and task management.
• Manage all arrangements for Steering Group and Board meetings including the preparation of reports and papers proactively ensuring deadlines are met
• Implementation of assistive technology for the preparation of minutes from all governance meetings (c16 per year) and responsible for proofing and finalising minutes, ensuring actions are followed up and deadlines met
• Proactive management of outstanding tasks assigned to team to ensure projects are completed on schedule
• Managing confidential HR information including personnel information ,sickness records, training records and annual leave records
• Tracking required changes to the Staff Handbook and making updates
• Database maintenance and updates, pulling data from external sources and updating mailing and other lists
• Booking meeting venues, lunches and travel arrangements for the Senior Management team

• Maintaining planned preventative maintenance list for office space, managing Health & Safety and Fire Assessment reviews and proactively addressing issues

• Provide first point of contact for general office administration including first line reception and phone cover
