This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing and influential charity on a 12 month fixed–term contract (maternity cover) in a senior leadership role. 

We’re looking for an experienced health, social care and public policy leader to inspire Parkinson’s UK’s policy, campaigns, education, professional engagement and service improvement and grants teams, working with colleagues across the External Relations directorate to develop our staff to their full potential.

About the role 

You’ll inspire, challenge and lead the Policy & Health Strategy teams to improve public services for people with Parkinson’s - across areas such as timely access to high quality NHS services, access to medications, access to research opportunities, and improved benefits and employment support. You’ll work closely with people affected by Parkinson’s, health care professionals and other partners to influence decision makers across Whitehall, Westminster and local health systems. 

You’ll oversee an annual budget of around £5 million, and a team of 45 people.

What you’ll do:

• Create an environment in which the Parkinson’s Excellence Network flourishes, working closely with the Clinical Leadership Team, developing the Network to drive up standards of care for people with Parkinson’s. 
• Work with the Director of External Relations to carve out new areas of influence over decision makers, nationally and locally, to improve public services for people with Parkinson’s.
• Ensure that the voice of people affected by Parkinson’s is at the core of our policy, campaigning, service improvement and professional education work, and help amplify their needs in the media as a spokesperson.
• Position the Excellence Network as sector leading with key decision makers in health and social care, maximise funding opportunities and embed the Network and Parkinson’s UK services as key partners in the health and social care sector. 

What you’ll bring:

• Authentic and inspirational leader who successfully motivates teams and a strategic thinker with proven experience of translating concepts into practice. 
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to position yourself as an opinion leader within relevant communities. You will ideally have experience as a media spokesperson or be open to media training and opportunities.
• Substantial leadership experience in health and social care or public policy, and in developing professional networks and partnerships to support improvements in care and services. 
• In-depth understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development across the UK, and of the digital health innovation landscape and how it can be used to lever change.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) work. The new role of MEAL Officer will undertake high-quality data management and analysis to produce key learnings on the outcomes of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activity, as well as leading system improvements to our evolving monitoring, evaluation and learning framework in collaboration with global colleagues. They will be providing support to the emerging global learning function, and the role will support the delivery of learning activities across our network to develop clear briefs, learnings and findings that can be used by other functions, including the Communications and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to strengthen the organisation’s external and internal engagement and knowledge sharing activities. This will include developing appropriate methodologies and tools to collate, validate, summarise, analyse and report on key trends within our grantmaking using and improving on a range of data sources including grantee application forms and reports. Working as part of the UK Programme Support function and reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the post holder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the global organisation Global Greengrants Fund, particularly within the Programmes, Communications, and Learning teams towards realising organisational aims.

The candidate profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level specialist with a strong track record in data collection, monitoring and analysis, with good working knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, tools and systems, and in using this information to evaluate and recommend adaptations, and in reporting. Higher-level qualifications/certification in a relevant field, post-graduate qualification would be a distinct advantage, particularly in the social sciences and/or use of mixed method approaches. They will have demonstrated experience authoring MEAL related reports, either organisational reports or academic publications; demonstrated ability to coordinate and improve the process of data collection, analysis and reporting and demonstrated experience in managing datasets, databases, programming, and other analysis software. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They have exceptional organisational and research abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy, including analysing large amounts of information from disparate sources. They should have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship building, and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies. They also thrive in a virtual environment and are motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.

The Younger People service provides personalised advice, guidance and support to people under the age of 65 living with dementia and their carers. As a Dementia Adviser covering the Gwent area you will work closely with the Memory Assessment Services, Social Services and other third sector agencies, attending meetings with or on behalf of the person you are supporting.  

The service is unique to each service user, as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. As a Dementia Adviser you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support and guidance at the point of diagnosis and throughout a person’s dementia journey.  Providing this early intervention, we can help people understand their type of dementia, manage ongoing daily living needs, take control of their health and wellbeing and provide access to relevant local services. Our Dementia Advisers support people in their homes and are able to interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually, helping to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future.

We also provide peer support services to ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support they need whilst enjoying meaningful and engaging activities.  As a Dementia Adviser you will facilitate, organise and promote these peer support services, whilst bringing an enthusiastic and positive approach.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual, with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community Family Support Worker to work as part of our Oasis Hubs in Sheffield, to engage and work with parents/carers, supporting them to access Hub activities, develop their personal and parenting skills, knowledge and aspirations.

Key responsibilities will be:

· Work with Parents/Carers and hard to reach families, supporting them to build their own health/wellbeing and to meet the health, wellbeing and safety of their children.

· Develop relationship and support the community as they access for emergency hardship. Ensure families have the skill and knowledge to not have to be reliant on emergency support.

· Develop a volunteer–led peer support service and drop in sessions.

· Support families in developing partnerships with local professionals.

The successful post holder must have:

· A relevant professional qualification in Family Support & Community Work (Level 3 or above) or able to demonstrate qualification by experience.

• Successful experience of working with parents / carers and complex families.

· The ability to deal with private information and sensitive issues with a calm and confident approach in difficult situations.

· Ability to function in diverse settings and with a wide range of professional agencies.

• Be self-motivated, resilient, with excellent organisational/administrative and inter-personal skills.

The Role:

Our Project Coordinator for In-Person activities in Oxford is a key leadership role at the heart of our sociable and fun team. You will coordinate all aspects of our inspiring and unique in-person session programme with six sessions a week spanning gardening to sports, recruit and support our exceptional volunteers, and be the primary contact for them and our community. 

Each day as the KEEN Coordinator is very different. In one day, you might be a guest speaker in a local school or business, then running a Zig-Zag dinosaur themed crafts session for our under 10’s, before training new volunteers in adaptations they could use in our young adult’s drama session. On another day you might be in meetings with the local authority about enhancing inclusivity, finalising a KEEN fundraising application and then attending a volunteer social in the evening.

The Street Engagement Team is a multi-disciplinary team that provides person-led support to people experiencing street homelessness and interconnecting needs.

A day in this role is never the same – part of it will be spent on the street, offering support to people experiencing homelessness. You might be out with another member of the team, or with one of our specialist health partners like a homeless health nurse, or substance use worker.

You will also be supporting the Enhanced Practitioners with their caseloads day-to-day, responding to ad-hoc outreach referrals, and contributing to the overall running of the team in a duty capacity.

You will have experience in delivering a person-led, psychologically, gender and culturally informed service to people who are street homeless. You will be excellent at building and strengthening trust in relationships. You will be a problem solver, with a positive attitude towards change and service development.

You will also have the personal credibility to build confidence in the wider community and across partnerships.  You will be both strength-based and solution-focused, developing and enhancing the relationships with a commitment to embed coproduction into The Connections services.

Salary: £33,860
