About the role
At Breast Cancer Now, we’re seeking a Senior Press & PR Officer to join our ambitious press, PR & celebrity team for 12 months. The role is focused primarily on the charity’s Fundraising portfolio, including our corporate partnerships and high-value fundraising events, all of which raise vital funds that help the charity to deliver world-class research and provide life-changing support for anyone affected by breast cancer.
About you
As an excellent communicator, you’ll be great at building trusted and influential relationships across a range of stakeholders including colleagues, journalists, external partners and advocates and ambassadors of Breast Cancer Now. This will help you bring our work to life, working collaboratively and effectively and at pace.
With significant experience in developing and delivering impactful PR campaigns, either in-house or in an agency, you’ll tell powerful stories around our fundraising activity to achieve cut-through in the media and drive further engagement and support (including financial) from our key audiences.
Always putting the patient voice at the heart of our work, you’ll be innovative and creative in your approach to secure maximum profile for annual events and campaigns, building on previous years’ successes and bringing fresh angles to this work to maximise engagement with the media and key audiences.
With strong written skills and an instinct for what makes a good news story, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced press office, and always consider how content can be integrated and delivered across communications channels for greatest impact.
The successful candidate will be excited to be part of an ambitious, focused and supportive wider Fundraising, Communications and Engagement Directorate, which has a remit to reach and engage more people with our work than ever before, and to develop our fundraising to become a sustainable organisation for the future.

Fundraising Manager
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fundraising Manager to become a vital part of a small, friendly and ambitious fundraising team.
Position: Fundraising Manager
Location: Hybrid working – primarily homebased with occasional travel to Maidenhead
Salary: £34,978 per annum
Contract: Full time, permanent
About the role:
The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.
- Carry out effective prospect research.
- Engage companies in our sporting challenges.
- Nurture effective relationships with corporate partners to achieve the best outcomes for the charity.
- Manage and grow the charities portfolio of challenge events to maximise income from this fundraising stream to achieve and exceed set income and expenditure targets, offering opportunities for engagement, and fundraising across the calendar year.
- Plan and deliver the marketing and recruitment of a range of events, including the London Marathon and other major running, hiking, cycling, swimming, skydiving and ultra-challenges.
- Coordinate and create content for the Fundraising Team communications via social media and digital communications to increase engagement from supporters.
- Create and manage annual budget lines to ensure income and expenditure meet set financial targets to maximise a return on investment.
- Monitor and report on income and expenditure for the relevant budget lines.
- Actively participate in team meetings.
- Attend key fundraising events and annual conference.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.
- Good knowledge of the principals of customer service/supporter care and donor development.
- Sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
- Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.
- Experience of developing new fundraising products and building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income.
- Experience of managing events, preferably sporting challenge events.
- Excellent digital skills with experience of using a variety of online platforms, including website editing, image re-sizing, social media, and e-news content creation.
- Experience of using a CRM database to maintain data accurately, and an understanding of how to extract and evaluate information.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills with a creative and entrepreneurial outlook.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent MS Office skills in the use of email, Word and Excel and PowerPoint.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, confident and target-orientated Senior Fundraising Manager who will join our successful Partnerships Team to support and lead on the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing corporate supporters, trusts and foundations, major donors and statutory bodies, with the aim of driving significant income growth to match the ambitions of our new Business Plan.
What will I be doing?
You will think strategically and work closely with the Head of Development to develop persuasive cases for support tailored to corporates, trusts and foundations, major donors and statutory bodies. You will also build and maintain successful long-term relationships with CYT’s existing funders.
Developing and designing high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five and six figure funding opportunities from a wider variety is essential to the role as is overseeing CYT’s communications, website and social media channels with the aim of increasing engagement with key CYT funders and in-kind supporters.
What knowledge and experience are we looking for?
Knowledge and experience in a charity fundraising role
A successful track record of developing and securing new income streams
Proven experience of delivering against stretching income generation targets, goals and deadlines
Experience managing and building key strategic relationships and/or significant client partnerships
Experience of establishing and overseeing relationship management and stewardship processes

Due to an exciting period of growth within CoppaFeel!’s Fundraising Team, we are looking for a Sporting Challenge Events Manager - a dynamic fundraising events professional who will grow and manage our expanding third-party challenge events portfolio.
The role of Sporting Challenge Events Manager will sit within the CoppaFeel! Challenge Events Team, in the Fundraising Department. Working with the Senior Challenge Programme Manager and the rest of the Challenge Events team, you will be expected to grow our income in line with our 3 year fundraising growth strategy.
CoppaFeel! currently has teams of participants in some of the biggest sporting events in the UK, including London Landmarks Half Marathon, Royal Parks Half Marthon, Vitality 10k and Brighton Marathon - to name but a few! As the Sporting Challenge Events Manager, you will be committed to seeking new opportunities for growth, whilst delivering a standout supporter experience for all of our challenge event participants.
You’ll be responsible for the promotion and marketing of a range of diverse mass participation events to both warm and cold audiences, and devising engaging and inspiring stewardship journeys to ensure our participants continue to support CoppaFeel! long into the future.
You’ll need experience of managing large-scale events and raising significant income, with the ability to generate ideas and solutions. The role is very fast-paced and will require excellent attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
The job does require some evening and weekend work - although not behind the laptop! Instead you might be cheering on a team of runners from the sidelines of a marathon race, or meeting and greeting cyclists at the finish line of an epic ride.
Therefore, please bear in mind that as part of this role, you will be expected to attend different events across the UK and may occasionally need to stay overnight. Should you be required to work weekends, you will be entitled to time off in lieu.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office at least 2 days per week.
About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their boobs isn’t only fun, it could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy
- Deliver the challenge event programme using your expertise to create delivery plans, budgets, and timelines, working with key stakeholders and event organisers, meeting specific financial targets and KPI’s

- Work in collaboration with CoppaFeel! marketing team to lead the acquisition for new challenge event participants, ensuring we grow the number of supporters year-on-year.
- Support CoppaFeel!’s EDI strategy, collaborating with our EDI Manager to ensure our events are accessible and open to everyone.

The Education and Impact Manager will project manage our work across subject areas (social, democratic and legal education) and across educational phases (mainly primary and secondary). Role snapshot:
- Review and develop our educational resources and training offer
- Project manage the delivery of new and updated materials/training and liaise with our internal team as well as external partners in their effective delivery and dissemination
- Oversee their implementation in different settings, writing some personally and using freelance contributors and/or corporate volunteers
- Create and implement an impact measurement framework that feeds into our theory of change and that meets that reporting requirements of our funders and partners

Overall Purpose of Role
The Corporate and Individual Donor Manager will play a leading role in driving our fundraising strategy, cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and individual donors to secure vital funding for our programmes. Corporate Donor Management

Responsibilities:
Legacy Marketing Strategy and Stewardship
* To develop a legacy marketing strategy to help ensure that legacy influencing is an integral part of the Trusts marketing and promotion.
* Identify distinctive legacy audiences and segments amongst Trust supporters, and their underlying characteristics and motivations in order to tailor marketing strategies for each.
* Develop a legacy vision and powerful cases for support tailored to identified target audiences.
* Work with appropriate creative resource to develop effective marketing concepts and approaches.
* Undertake research where appropriate to inform strategy development.

In Memory
* Develop a medium-term (3yrs) strategy for building and growing the In Memory programme, ensuring ongoing support of In Memory donors and achieving agreed targets.
* Lead on working with other fundraising teams where the In Memory supporter audience and activity overlaps to ensure clear lines of responsibility, effective collaboration and co-authored supporter journeys that promote excellent supporter experience and long-term supporter retention.
* Develop KPIs and measures for comprehensive reporting - both in terms of campaign outcomes, longer-term supporter retention/attrition, as well as reporting which tracks the complete picture and trends within In Memory income, supporters and activity for the whole of fundraising.

We’re looking for an Insight Executive with data experience to join the Strategic Insight team.
As the Insight Executive, you will be providing quality data to teams across the organisation for marketing and supporting purposes. You will be working with our software to extract data, build communication journeys, and run data processes. This role is key to the organisation, and in ensuring we are raising funds to support children and young people with cancer.
This role is an opportunity to work across a range of data led projects and challenges. Our team is continually adapting and improving; we are looking for a candidate who can shape this role over time, and who we can support to grow in this role.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the Job Description.
• To select and extract data from the database and fully clean the resulting data before sending on to be used for campaigns and other areas of work
• To maximise the benefits of our database by working with team colleagues to deliver data selections, data reports, and data exploration
• Be responsible for incoming data administrative requests and run regular administrative tasks to keep data clean and up to date on the CARE CRM system (our supporter database)
• Be proactive in learning to use new software – we use FastStats, and are currently bringing in PeopleStage, a product to manage supporter data, and the Insight Executive will be regularly using this software .
• On an ongoing basis, to identify areas for improvement including data quality, and increasing internal and external stakeholder satisfaction
• Participate in projects or lead discrete project work and support other areas within the directorate as and when require

Role Accountabilities
1. Support with the implementation of the People Strategy
