About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join Sense's engagement team at this exciting time, as Head of National Events. You will be leading the National Events team to deliver against Sense’s ambitious strategy, inspiring and supporting the team. This Includes:
- Support of a £1Million plus London Marathon Event
- Support the Event Managers in delivering 2 new bespoke events
You will drive the creation of a national events strategy to ensure a balanced portfolio of challenge events and support innovation, and creative thinking to further drive income growth and lifetime value across the events portfolio at Sense, delivering impact for people with complex disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead, motivate and inspire the Events team, a team of 4 at present
- To carry out the relevant people management for the team including recruitment, annual appraisals, motivating performance, management of sickness absence and, where necessary, applying HR policies and procedures
- As part of the Engagement Leadership Team, work with peers to provide inspirational leadership to the broader Engagement Directorate
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Engagement Directorate and wider organisation including Digital, Trading, and Volunteering, to deliver fully integrated supporter engagement activities
- There will be a requirement for travel and to work unsociable hours at events with occasional overnight stays in the UK
Strategy development and implementation
- Lead on the development of a National Events' three-year strategy and operational plan to drive growth and create a balanced portfolio of Event offerings
- Oversee the delivery of in-year National Events plans including all marketing and stewardship activities to ensure budgets and targets are achieved
- Manage the Events budgets, ensuring net income is achieved and appropriate mitigation plans are in place where necessary
- Review and interpret research and data to make evidence-based decisions that improve activities within the Events portfolio
- Produce regular reports on progress against the strategy with the delivery of key performance indicators for the Associate Director of Public Fundraising, Group Director of Engagement, CEO, Executive Team, Trustees and other stakeholders as required

About the role
Location: Coventry (community based) with some elements of home working.
It is an exciting time to join Alzheimer's Society and the Group Facilitator role will ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support they need whilst enjoying meaningful and often exciting activities, this is an exciting time for you to join us and make this role your own.
We aim to support everyone affected by dementia, giving an opportunity to those attending this service to access elements of information. The role requires delivery of weekly and monthly face-to-face groups for people affected by dementia, including Activity groups, Singing for the brain and a Dementia café. The successful candidate will be managing a supportive and experienced team of dedicated volunteers.
You will:
- Setup, promote, establish, organise and facilitate or deliver group(s) and ensure that all attending are supported to fully engage in the session.
- Recruit and guide volunteers so that the volunteers have clarity about their roles and undertake appropriate training.
- Take views and feedback of service users, taking into account the individual needs of members of the group.
- Assist the service users to feel welcome and to understand the aims and benefit of the group(s), and welcome all new attendees, providing information about the group.
- Proactively support an inclusive and welcoming working environment where all people we support feel able to be themselves.
- Complete recording on our computerised systems to reflect safety of service in line with the society’s legal obligations and good practice.
About you
We are looking for a compassionate, supportive person with a good understanding of dementia and how it impacts both the person with the diagnosis and the carer. Our role requires excellent communication skills to engage people in group activities, ensuring the person with dementia can fully participate as well as the carer.
You will need:
- To understand the importance of volunteers in group services is essential, plus the ability to role manage volunteers to support them in their role.
- Good knowledge of dementia and an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers
- Experience of coordinating volunteers
- Excellent computer skills are required to facilitate virtual groups, and to complete accurate records on the computer system.
- The ability to travel independently to the locations the service covers.

This is a unique opportunity for an astute, super-efficient, fast learner to join the first international climate campaign organisation focused on the steel sector, one of the largest and least-challenged drivers of climate change. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa and Europe. The Executive Assistant will be a vital team member, providing critical, executive administrative support to enable the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team to operate effectively. The duties associated with the role will evolve significantly as SteelWatch evolves. The Executive Assistant reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
The role is focused on supporting the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team on a number of tasks, not limited to:

Manage diaries, schedule appointments, set up meetings, adapting to priorities.

Organise and book travel arrangements according to diary needs and internal policies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, creative and tactful approach to making logistics and relationships run smoothly in a busy, evolving, international organisation. They will maintain the highest professional standards and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. In addition to a great eye for detail and persistence, the ideal candidate will have the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive action forward in a fluid context and will enjoy doing so. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: The position is remote, and the location should be in a time zone within two hours of Central European Time. The UK location is a benefit. You must have the right to work in your location, and you will be employed in that country. SteelWatch is unable to support any visa application process.
Work environment: The work is mainly remote, although some face-to-face meetings are essential, within Europe. Working hours are flexible. Team members are currently located in Japan, the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, and the team will continue to grow internationally. There will be some early mornings or evenings to accommodate interactions across time zones, with the flexibility to adjust your weekly schedule accordingly. Travel will be required to collaborate with allies and meet the team in person.
Terms and salary: The role is expected to be long-term and managed via an Employer of Record. The initial contract will be for 12 months, if feasible, within local employment regulations. While we envision this as a full-time role, we are open to other options (minimum 60% unless a job share). The UK salary for this position is in the range of £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience. Comparable salaries in other countries are based on market rates.

Digital Fundraising Officer
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the digital marketing team.
This is a remote working role, offering flexible working.
Position: CE317 Digital Fundraising Officer

The Role
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help to maximise income through fundraising appeals, provide beneficiary support and increase supporter retention through digital channels
Key responsibilities will include:

About the role
Location: Community-based in Bridgend with some office and home-based working
You will have the rewarding experience of providing information, guidance and support to people affected by dementia in Bridgend. You will help them in identifying their needs, maintain independence, improve their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. This post forms part of the Team working around individuals and their families who are experiencing difficulties with changes to cognitive, emotional, or physical health needs.
This new post will work as part of the Integrated Community Network teams in Bridgend. The Network Teams consist of staff across several professions. This includes social work, district nursing, community psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics and pharmacy. It aims to provide a seamless and holistic approach to an individual’s care or support needs during times of change or challenge.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will:
- Work closely with health, adult social care and third sector colleagues in assessing need and providing information and guidance to support people affected by dementia.
- Help meet the health and wellbeing needs of an individual by looking at “what matters” to them by providing timely and accurate information, advice, and assistance so that they may benefit from what is available to them.
- Work within the Integrated Community Network Teams in supporting the provision of support to people with dementia and their carers and wider support networks.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Medway.
Position: S11197 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based –Medway however, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £16,043 per annum (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)
Contract: Our services are contracted, we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2025.

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
· Provide personalised information, advice and support.
· Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes
· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.
· You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.
About You
The post holder will have experience/background in:
· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
· Setting up and running groups.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.
