An excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team at the heart of cutting-edge marine conservation. This is a role which will optimise Blue Marine’s ability to deliver conservation, work with partners, reduce the charity’s risk and support the finance and fundraising operations.
Blue Marine Foundation seeks to protect and restore life in the ocean, aiming to see at least 30 per cent of the world’s oceans protected by 2030. We are a London-based NGO, with around 50 projects in 25 countries around the world.
Following a phase of sustained growth, Blue Marine is seeking a Head of Operations. This new team member will support the Director of Finance, Operations and Governance to manage a broad scope of operational functions, particularly focused on contracts and agreements, data management, risk management, systems and security. The role will involve collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation to drive system and process improvements. (Note that HR is not within the scope of this role.)

Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, Operations and Governance, you will:
- Write organisational policies and lead the policy workflow process on Sharepoint, driving policies through the amendment, approval and employee attestation phases.
- Manage the relationship with Blue Marine’s external IT Support consultancy, including communicating changes to cyber security and leading asset management processes.
- Support the finance, fundraising and project delivery teams with funding/partnership contracts, agreements and MoU templates, including writing and reviewing routine agreements.
- Assist with the restructure of data architecture across Sharepoint and provide appropriate support and training for colleagues across the organisation, including future new starters.
- Support the implementation of new software and technologies across the organisation, potentially including Microsoft Copilot AI.
- Advise the executive team on data management and GDPR.
- Assess and manage operational risk, including maintaining the organisational risk register but also in the wider promotion of a responsible risk culture.
- Support the finance and fundraising teams with due diligence queries from donors.
- Assess suitability and manage renewals of insurance cover.
- Maintain records and statutory registers and assist with the facilitation of good governance.
- Line management of the Office Manager, taking responsibility for ensuring the office is fit for purpose and driving the office management committee in maintaining high standards of office tidiness and aesthetics.

Personal specification
The ideal candidate will be, above all else, an excellent professional communicator, comfortable with both writing formal documents and managing operational change within the organisation. You do not need to have legal experience but will nevertheless have a proven ability to produce formal but readable agreements and policy documentation. You do not need to have a technical IT background but will nevertheless be comfortable discussing best practice and data management within the Microsoft Office 365 cloud environment and use your experience to support colleagues to get the best from the technology available to them. You will be a champion of Blue Marine’s working environment, taking an active role in the office culture and driving staff engagement of operational systems through giving presentations and one-on-one support to colleagues. Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm but flexible working is encouraged.

Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
- Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.

We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

About the Team
We recently launched a new 3-year partnership with a leading UK bank, with a strategy centred on building the UK’s financial resilience. Together we aim to break the vicious cycles that leave people with poor financial health which may negatively impact their housing situation. The project aims to improve and challenge financial resilience by delivering specialist advice and intervention and gaining evidence and insight into the issues.
Our three Communities Teams are responsible for identifying, investigating and intervening in housing and homelessness practice issues. We engage with our local communities to understand the issues people are facing and apply expert housing knowledge, insight and analysis to identify solutions to them. As well as providing advice and advocacy for individuals, we also use our insight, relationships and influence to drive systemic change, always ensuring that Lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for providing money and debt advice, advocacy and casework to clients, including homelessness prevention and financial resilience. We’ll also rely on you to deliver housing and financial health/resilience workshops to a variety of audiences, including clients and their families, local professionals and volunteers.
About you
To succeed, you’ll need to be used to working with, and influencing, a range of internal and external stakeholders and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. You’ll also need great time management skills, an enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations and a willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account. Adept at engaging with individuals and communities, you enjoy gathering evidence and identifying insights, issues and trends. Hither Green Service is a pre-recovery service, and you will be supporting people with active alcohol and substance misuse support needs. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Support Worker (known internally as a Project Worker).
In this vital role you will:
- Work together with clients to identify their personal aims and ambitions and support them towards achieving them. You will be working with between 8-10 key residents on your caseload.
- Respond to incident and crises as a team in a way that maximises safety and wellbeing.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.
- Work as part of a dedicated team in an accommodation setting to provide a high quality, positive and safe service to clients.
- Keep up to date administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety.

Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.
As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
- Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
- Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
- Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
- Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.

In the absence of the Assistant Food Service Manager, the Front of House Team Leader will step in to oversee operations and maintain service quality.

We are now looking for an experienced and dynamic practitioner to lead on developing a comprehensive community development and outreach work for our West London Rape Crisis Service. This exciting role will develop relationships with local communities and professionals with an aim to raise awareness about sexual violence, improve communities and professionals’ responses as well as to improve access to services for survivors. This work will be carried out through a variety of activities such as briefings, workshops, trainings, and other means.
WGN’s Community Engagement Worker will also play a pivotal role in engaging with survivors as Experts by Experience, supporting them to shape and develop sexual violence policy and practice within the charity as well as externally.
