You will be an effective team member working alongside the Finance Manager to ensure that income and expenditure are appropriately processed in accordance with The Sick Children’s Trust procedures and coding and costing are accurate and appropriate.You will be the first line of contact for day to day finance queries.
Duties will include:
- Processing all income and expenditure transactions ensuring accurate coding.
- Oversee the fixed asset ledger
- Preparation of quarterly and annual VAT returns
- Preparation of annual expenditure budgets and monthly expenditure reforecasts
- Banking any donations and prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare for annual external audit and carry out in internal audits
- Provide support on budget preparation
About you
You have experience of working in a finance or accounting team, ensuring you can hit the ground running. Your skills and knowledge ensure you are confident in carrying out day to day and monthly financial processes and enable you to provide managers advice on finance and coding processes.
Proficient IT skills and good working knowledge of accountancy software are a given
You have strong organisational skills and an eye for detail to ensure accuracy.
Just as importantly you have strong interpersonal skills to support colleagues and to work as a good team member.

Job title: Patient Support & Advocacy Officer
Reporting to: Regional Project Manager

You will have experience of using social media and PR to promote project work, you will work closely with our Communication and marketing team to promote our work and engage more people in volunteering and positive environmental behavior.

Responsibilities & Main Duties:
Project Management/Coordination
- Work effectively with project colleagues internally and externally.
- Project lead for our work in Rugby
- Providing day to day support for volunteers in Rugby.
- Provide line management for at least one of our project coordinators in the Midlands.
- Work with department heads, colleagues at HQ and project coordinators in the successful delivery of projects and volunteer coordination.
- Collate and provide data and information to feedback on progress and track delivery timescales against project targets.
- Work with colleagues to develop agreed resources.
Supporting volunteers
- Coordinate the sign up of volunteers in Rugby (utilising our volunteer database system, Better Impact)
- Provide resources to support their activity.
- Source opportunities for volunteers to reach audiences in their local communities, this will involve liaising with event organisers.
- Working alongside colleagues to contribute to the updating of volunteer policies and processes.
- Maximise dissemination and PR associated with projects by liaising with the team.
- Organise, attend and support a variety of events for and with different communities within Rugby.
- Design, develop and deliver training for a range of different audiences.
General
- It is the nature of the work of Garden Organic that tasks and responsibilities are, in some circumstances, unpredictable and varied. All employees are expected to work in flexible way when the occasion arises where tasks are not specifically covered in the Job Description and have to be undertaken.

The Disability Inclusive Development (DIDIF) programme started in July 2018 and is a six year, £29.5m FCDO funded commercial contract managed by Sightsavers DIDIF Fund Management Team (FMT). The DIDIF programme is managed using a payment-by-results and New Engineering Contract (NEC3) contracting model. It is also adaptively managed. The DIDIF consortium consists of ten partners who work on innovation and scale projects across the programme's four thematic areas: health, education, livelihoods and negative stereotyping and discrimination. We work in six countries: Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. The FMT is responsible for the programme's management: finance & risk; monitoring, evaluation and learning; adaptive management; reporting and quality assurance; governance; contract management; consortium management and donor relations.
The Senior Learning Advisor leads on the implementation and continuous development of the DIDIF programme's Learning Strategy (also called "the Learning Architecture"), a component of the DIDIF programme's MEL Strategy.
The Senior Learning Advisor leads on establishing the learning priorities for Learning Architecture's four operational areas (project, programme, consortium and organisation) and ensure those learning priorities meet the programme's strategic objectives. At this stage of the programme, the focus is upon delivery. Key duties include:
- Providing technical direction to all Learning Architecture projects and oversee implementation and delivery.

Beacon for Rare Diseases is seeking a Senior Scientific Projects Officer to join our established team and support us through the next stage in our charity's development.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As Senior Scientific Projects Officer, you will be pivotal in delivering Beacon’s scientific training initiatives. Your role will involve creating and delivering educational content through written guides, webinars, and workshops, aimed at equipping patient group leaders and academics with the knowledge to contribute effectively to the development of new therapies for rare diseases.
Alongside the Scientific Projects Manager and other key team members, you’ll work across two main areas of the charity’s work:
- REMEDi4ALL: A European-wide drug repurposing platform, aiming to expedite the use of existing medicines to address unmet clinical needs. Collaborating with our European partners, you will drive the creation of training materials focused on patient engagement and education within the drug repurposing community.
- Rare Disease Research: Supporting the development of the UK rare disease research ecosystem, alongside LifeArc’s newly funded Rare Disease Translational Research Centres. You will help establish new standards in patient-centred research, disseminating findings and insights from this innovative network to accelerate rare disease treatment development in the UK.
Across these projects, you will manage the development of educational materials, including writing and reviewing content, supporting and coordinating volunteers and pro bono contributors, planning and delivering live training events, and assessing needs through feedback and stakeholder engagement.
