About the role
You'll work with creative, visionary philanthropists and donors who want to be part of the fabric of Factory International and everything it means for Manchester.

You'll develop and steward relationships from £10k upwards - working with both new and existing prospect pools - using data insight, donor intelligence and exceptional stewardship to drive increased support and engagement.

You're a passionate and skilled relationship manager who can see themselves working and thriving side-by-side with creatives, artists and other talented fundraisers. You're confident networking with high-net-worth individuals and philanthropists, and will feel comfortable positioning the organisational offer and making fundraising asks.

You are motivated by targets and enjoy working with clear metrics, which will include developing strategic prospect plans and building relationships, securing meetings, planning engagement opportunities and working across the team to develop meaningful cultivation and stewardship opportunities.

You don't need to come directly from an arts background, but you do need to be able to communicate the power of art to change lives and enrich communities.

CW+ - Philanthropy Manager

Location: Hybrid working – 2/3 days a week in office in London, SW10 9HS.

CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to shape and develop a portfolio of circa 80 donors and prospects and seek new potential donors to support their work.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the top ranked and top performing healthcare Trusts in the UK, providing care to a community of over one million people across two hospital sites and twelve community clinics. The Trust is the fourth largest A&E provider in the UK, treating over 300,000 patients each year.

Over the last six years CW+ has grown its fundraising programme extensively and is now seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join their team at a crucial stage in their Thirty at Thirty major appeal – its ambitious programme to raise £30m to celebrate the Trust’s 30th birthday. This will be the largest fundraising drive in the charity’s history and a successful, effective team will be central to its success.

The role will be responsible for cultivating and securing gifts from existing and new high-value donors, with a focus on securing five and six figure donations.  The post-holder will initiate, foster and develop rich, long-term relationships with donors capable of giving transformational support to CW+ and develop and grow the current major giving pipeline and portfolio of major gifts from high net worth individuals.

As the portfolio is mixed in its development, it is important that this post holder can work with tenacity and resilience in an ever evolving landscape of relationships and opportunities, in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and the Director of Fundraising. The successful candidate must have a positive, pro-active, donor-centric approach to relationship fundraising and demonstrate proven success at securing major gift support from individuals and family trusts/foundations. Alongside excellent relationship and communication skills, candidates must be confident, resourceful and proactive, with initiative and a problem-solving disposition.

We are looking for an accomplished Individual Giving and Legacy fundraiser to help develop, implement and lead our approach to growing unrestricted, long-term income in these areas.

You will work with the Senior Head of Individual Supporters and Events to design both the long-term strategy and short-term campaign plans for these fundraising streams, before taking ownership for implementing the plans on an ongoing basis so that we can inspire more people to support our work with young people.

You will lead a team of fundraisers to achieve the best possible results with existing and potential supporters – both in income and stewardship so we can start to realise the opportunity for growth in mass fundraising. This will include supporting your team in their work with other functions such as Supporter Care, Data, Finance, and our external Legacy administration agency, so that you can help ensure high quality data collection, analysis and performance reporting as well as compliance with relevant codes of fundraising practice.

We are particularly interested in people with excellent Legacy experience to fill this role so if you have a strong track record in managing Legacy programmes, including designing and implementing stewardship activities as well as proven experience in Individual Giving then we’d love to have you in our team to deliver campaigns which inspire people to become long-term supporters of The Trust.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. - Experience and/or understanding of philanthropy within the healthcare and/or a medical research setting.
- Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise multiple tasks, work under pressure and within tight deadlines. 

 
About the Team
 
The Philanthropy Manager sits within the Philanthropy team – part of the Relationship Fundraising division within the wider Fundraising Directorate. The team focuses on securing gifts from high net-worth individuals and charitable foundations and manages a substantial high value programme. The Philanthropy Manager will sit within a sub-team of three fundraisers – a Philanthropy Executive, a Philanthropy Manager, with both being managed by a Senior Philanthropy Manager.

The Role 

As our Philanthropy Manager, reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will identify and approach people who wish to invest in the advancement of worldwide research to find cures for cancer. You will grow Yorkshire Cancer Research’s portfolio of major donors and deliver exceptional levels of tailored engagement and stewardship. In doing this, you will contribute towards the charity’s ambition to secure significant income to achieve the charity's plans to save more lives in Yorkshire and beyond. 
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Develop and implement Yorkshire Cancer Research’s major donor fundraising strategy and plans. 

• Provide philanthropic individuals with the opportunity to fund research and services that will make a positive difference to people with cancer in Yorkshire, and beyond. 

• Closely listen to and understand individual’s interests and/or concerns and match their requirements to the charity’s research/services that are likely to be of greatest interest. 

• Develop a portfolio of potential major donors and create appropriate engagement opportunities* ensuring that these opportunities match the individual donor’s wants and needs. 
  (*These engagement opportunities may include events, communications, smaller dinners, and meetings with senior people at Yorkshire Cancer Research).   

• Provide a bespoke, professional customer experience to all contacts at all times.

• Work with colleagues (e.g. in the marketing and the events teams) to identify existing charity activities that may help attract and engage major donors. 

• Build a pipeline of major donor prospects who share the charity’s values and ambition to save lives by researching and trialling new ways to cure cancer. 

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level. 

• To have experience of proactively approaching prospects and building long-term relationships, preferably with philanthropists or family foundations. 

• To have experience of researching individuals and using this insight to inform decision-making. 

• To have experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a matrix-management organisation. 

• To have experience of developing clear Key Performance Indicators and reporting performance against them.  

• To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge). 

• To enjoy working with, and supporting, colleagues as part of a team working towards a common goal.

• To be able to analyse and present data and information in a way that is helpful and actionable to others.

About the Role

The role of Fundraising Manager is an important role for the highly ambitious fundraising team. As Fundraising Manager you will;

• Develop, implement and lead on fundraising strategies focussed on the main income areas of Community, Events and Corporate fundraising
• Lead, develop and effectively manage a multi-functional, high performing fundraising team, monitoring the operational activities of the team to ensure delivery, evaluation and learning
• Lead the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective budgets and strategies to achieve income targets across the range of revenue streams. Analyse income performance through a range of metrics, focussing on ROI to support the development and expansion of fundraising activity and new Initiative
• Carry out wider research to identify and develop new fundraising campaigns and initiatives, keeping up to date with trends in fundraising

About You

You must have proven experience in fundraising with a focus on Community, Corporate and Events. You must have experience of leading a team as well as excellent project management skills. You must also have managed relationships with Volunteers as well as have used a CRM System to generate fundraising leads and build a pipeline.

The Role
Drive the growth of a portfolio of existing supporters and new prospects, giving at the five and six-figure gift level.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Role Purpose
We are seeking to recruit a manager to lead a frontline team. This role will suit an experienced people manager who is friendly, kind and able to manage a busy workload. Someone who can motivate staff and volunteers, engage with elders and be solution focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day running of the Elders Core Service as part of the wider Elders Programme. This includes the three day a week lunch club, transport offer and social sessions and one-off activities and trips.
• Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers. The team members include a cook, support worker, minibus driver and sessional workers such as exercise tutors.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide this “hands on” programme which builds on older people’s strengths and potential.
• Manage the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
• Ensure the programme runs to budget.
• Support the planning of the core programme with Elders members themselves and with the wider team.
• Recruit, assess and support new and existing members (service users)
• Manage waiting lists for the programme
 

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and oversight
• Working with the Head of Programme, ensure that all service output meets KLS’ vision, mission, values and charitable objects and with the Head of Programme, ensure the service meets the programme strategy and KLS’s 5-year strategy.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of core older people's activities throughout the week and organise, plan and promote agreed one-off activities throughout the year in a timely and planned manner.
• Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules of older people to and from KLS’ activities with the Minibus Driver. Ensuring the Minibus Driver maintains records.
• Ensure activity records and registers are kept accurately and up to date as well as case work notes for the core team, completing regular checks on this. We use a Salesforce Database for which training will be given.
• Actively support the social and support needs of our older people as appropriate, including safeguarding issues and being a first contact for compliments and complaints for the service.
• To be part of, and work closely with, the wider elder's team, sharing information regarding elders on a regular basis where appropriate.
• Conduct outreach and support work with older people in the community and on home visits and oversee the case work of the Core Team as well as having a small caseload. This does not involve advice work but is mainly signposting, referral and light advocacy.

Staff and volunteer management

• Take responsibility for the Core Programme. This includes line management of the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook and key relevant social activities workers and volunteers related to the core programme (we do also have a KLS Volunteer Manager who recruits volunteers).
• Ensure performance management and quality systems are used to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes and safeguarding.
• Managing individual volunteers as part of the Core Programme Team.
Relationships, comms and networks
• Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our members.
• Contribute to comms for the service with the Head of Service. Oversee the comms for the Core Programme including the shared service newsletter, activities calendar, annual report and social media platforms.
• Attend meetings as requested on behalf of the Core Programme.
 

Finance
• Manage the project areas to budget, maintain basic financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme – in this instance this is usually a petty cash sheet.
Safeguarding
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the core team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
Undertake other duties
• Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal; help to identify your own job-related development and training needs
• Undertake your role in a professional manner and maintain a high-quality standard of work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of KLS
Skills and Experience
• Experience of working with older people in a community setting
• Experience of line managing a small team in a community setting
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds and when working individually or in groups
• Strong multi-tasking skills and time management 
• Ability to work as part of a small team, whilst also working independently
• Experience of monitoring and evaluating projects effectively and ensuring that they are consistently meeting needs
• Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety in theory and in practice
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite and ability to use Internet, email and social media. Database experience would be an advantage (Salesforce) 
• Experience of working with or being a volunteer
• Knowledge of Battersea and Wandsworth

The Communications Manager will use their considerable communications (and particularly digital communications) and marketing experience to tell QEST’s story; communicate the impact of QEST, facilitate the advancement of QEST’s UK-wide activities; and strengthen communications among the QEST network of alumni, the wider craft industry and existing and potential supporters and donors.

The role will include (but not limited to):

• Promoting and enhancing QEST’s reputation and positive profile within the craft sector, building on external relationships that relate to QEST’s activities and priorities, ensuring that all activities are delivered to the highest possible standards as befitting a charity with Royal Patronage
• Understanding and active interest in the craft/art/education sector, developing and building professional relationships with key contacts and networks
• Creating and delivering dynamic content for QEST’s digital channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and e-newsletters in order to promote:

· the QEST alumni

· the events and wider activities of QEST (with the Project Manager)

· the Crafting Tomorrow programmes (with the Education and Partnerships Manager)

· the outreach activity to encourage diverse applications from across the UK (with the Application and Grants Manager)

• Managing, and working collaboratively with colleagues, to gather and create compelling and impactful content and stories for the QEST website and the Annual Review (published annually)
• Developing and coordinating regional and national PR opportunities to raise awareness of QEST externally
