Back Up’s Regional Outreach and Engagement team are the very face of the organisation and are based across the UK, working directly with spinal cord injury centres, hospitals – or indeed anywhere that people affected by spinal cord injury may be.
As a Regional Coordinator, you will build relationships and take ownership for what happens in your geographical area. Whether it be providing peer support to newly injured people in a clinical setting, facilitating wheelchair skills sessions, making referrals for ongoing support or supporting volunteers and fundraisers – you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives.

Working closely with the Director of Income & Engagement, your strategies and campaigns will deepen the relationship between War on Want and its individual supporters to both increase participation in their campaigns and grow unrestricted income.
The campaigns you run will acquire, retain, and develop individual supporters using a range of channels both on and offline. The ultimate aim of these activities is to increase the number of active War on Want members who support their work through regular direct debit donations. In addition, you will lead War on Want’s legacy programme and manage the Income & Engagement Assistant to ensure the delivery of first-class supporter care processes and an unbeatable supporter experience.
As individual giving lead, you will join the team at a very exciting time. They have recently launched a new supporter mobilisation strategy to bring transformative growth to our supporter base. This role would be well suited to someone who has worked across a range of channels: tele-marketing, direct mail and digital. You will have a passion for political change and activism!
The starting salary is £46,636 and the role is hybrid working, with one day a month at War on Want’s head office. More in-person days are required on an ad-hoc basis.

We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO.
Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

Ethiopia team liaison and sponsor communication (70%)
- Work closely with the Sponsorship Manager and Coordinators in Ethiopia to ensure the timely and effective delivery of sponsorship activities and reporting.
- Maintain good relationships with sponsors by responding to sponsor enquiries in a prompt and friendly manner and encourage continued support for the sponsorship programme through the provision of engaging, informative and culturally aware/sensitive student updates and newsletters.
