Key Responsibilites
This role will lead on the business development for the charity’s key initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Work with the CEO, Operations Director, and wider team to implement the strategy for securing income-generating partnerships for 2025-2029.
- Identify organisations and key individuals within them to develop new opportunities for partnerships across the UK.
- Build, develop and strengthen relationships that will lead to increased projects.

About the role
The Digital Fundraising Acquisition Lead at Sightsavers is responsible for leading efforts to scale online supporter acquisition. SUMMARY
Community Energy England (CEE) is looking for an experienced experienced operations manager. This is a key role for CEE as we start to implement a new strategy, bring in new funding streams, and explore new ways to meet the needs of our growing membership. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Chief Operating Officer will lead on our ‘Thrive’ outcome: ensuring that CEE is a strong and sustainable organisation that can serve the community energy sector into the future.
Working closely with our Chief Executive, this role will be responsible for further developing the operational foundations - our systems and procedures - that allow our Heads of Departments to deliver their services with increasing professionalism and impact, and to grow the team to enable us to continue to impactfully support our growing membership. This role will suit someone who would relish the opportunity to lead and shape new ways of working.
As a member of the CEE team, you will be given the opportunity to continue developing your skills and contribution to the organisation and the sector. Community energy has broad and exciting impacts, and this role will provide varied experience and reach.

PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy implementation - developing systems for tracking organisational objectives and delivery, overseeing progress and reporting to the CEO
- Operational oversight - Actively collaborate with the senior leadership team and our Membership & Operations Officer to review and refresh our policies, procedures, and operational systems to ensure they meet the needs of our plans for growth
- Governance - working with the CEO and board to ensure good governance and effective risk managemen
- Finance and funding - supporting CEE’s financial management procedures and fiscal activities (working with our external bookkeeper) including budgeting, reporting requirements, and development of new funding sources (working with the senior leadership team)
- HR - (with support from our external HR service and Membership & Operations Officer) updating and implementing staff policies and processes which contribute to staff wellbeing and retention, supporting the senior leadership team to regularly review the range of skills required to deliver CEE’s strategy, identifying mechanisms for ensuring that we have access to the knowledge and skills required, monitoring implementation of policies & processes
- Membership services - oversight of our membership processes, relations, and communications
- People management - line managing our Membership & Operations Officer and Events & Communications Officer, liaising with our external bookkeeper and HR service, supervision of senior leadership team priorities
- Oversight of key projects - this will include ongoing oversight of the website (we have a new website in development), ensuring our events and new projects align with our strategy, and reviewing how CEE functions as a remote working team

SALARY, BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS
- Location: Working from home with the option to work in our Sheffield co-working space. There will be the need for occasional travel to other parts of the country such as CEE’s base in Sheffield.
- Hours: 35 hours per week. We are open to flexible working requests and many of our team work flexibly. Occasional weekend/evening travel and working (with notice) may be required, for which you’ll get time off in lieu.

This role is critical to overseeing the delivery, development, and impact of the MOVE 8 Week Young People's Programme. As the team lead, you will manage Cancer Rehab Specialists and a team of freelancers. About the role:
This is a crucial position as it will be your responsibility to ensure the growth of the charity, enabling us to support even more children and their families in Darfur, Sudan. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.
Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma. Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK.
The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children.
Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and design, prototype, implement and test scalable data solutions.

Design and maintain scalable data models in Microsoft Fabric to optimise data organisation, ensuring efficient and effective data usage across the organisation.

Extract, cleanse, and transform data using Power Automate from multiple sources into Microsoft Fabric, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable data for analytics and reporting.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement of data systems, processes, and tools within the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Design and maintain data pipelines tailored to business reporting and analytics needs.

Support and manage integrations between Microsoft Fabric with other systems and tools, including Dynamics 365 and Salesforce, to streamline operations and enhance decision-making.
System administration

Lead the continuous evolution of systems, processes, and tools within the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Ensure that Microsoft data tools and systems are optimised for performance, scalability, and security.

Implement and maintain data governance policies, ensuring data compliance, security, and accessibility across platforms.

Create process documentation and guides.
User support

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for including Power BI), providing guidance, training and support to internal teams.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration and data accessibility.

Provide support to users of Microsoft tools including Power BI, ensuring they can effectively leverage the platform for their needs.

Triaging points for escalations to Systems and Data Manager.

Knowledge and experience

Significant hands-on experience with or strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate, to design and deploy effective data solutions.

Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines tailored to business reporting and analytics needs.

Experience managing integrations between Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365, and Salesforce to streamline operations.

Experience creating process documentation, training materials, and guides to ensure efficient use of systems and adherence to best practices.

Working knowledge of SQL, with experience using it for data querying, manipulation, and reporting to enhance decision-making processes.
