We are looking for a brilliant community writers programme manager to grow the number of Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and school leaders writing short articles about their work inside our online community of 18,000+ school leaders and teachers.
Your role will be to design the community writers programme, invite MAT and school leaders to write about their work on our platform and support them to write their very best stuff so they can achieve their writing and career goals.
Why?
So MAT and schools can learn what’s working (and what isn’t) from each other and deliver the best education possible to their students.
About We Are In Beta.
We Are In Beta is an online community of 18,800+ school leaders and teachers which helps them share and learn how they get the best outcomes for their students.
We believe most of the solutions to schools’ problems are in schools already. Or at least, in the minds of the brilliant people who work in them.
Our job is to find them and share them widely, so nobody has to figure it out on their own.
Imagine a day when you can find someone - or something - that can help solve any problem you’re facing, whenever you need it.
A day when every student has leaders and teachers who are equipped with the most successful strategies and networks to improve their education.
Join us to help us build that future for our schools.
We - schools - Are In Beta - always learning.
What do we do?
To work towards that future:
-
We research great practice so our members can discover it and be inspired by it.
-
We produce and share practical content with great schools through events, webinars, podcasts and resources - so they can learn from others’ successes (and the failures too).
-
We build communities of practice so colleagues can meet and grow together
Some stats we’re really proud of:
In just 4 years we’ve grown the online community to over 18,800 school leaders and teachers.
-
3,400 - MATs and schools we are connected to
-
2500+ resources have been shared by our members - if each one on average takes two hours produce - in reality it's probably more - that’s more than…
-
3.1 years' worth of others’ work each and every one of our members can access just by being a part of the community
-
3,710 policies and resources from successful schools and MATs we have curated, analysed and shared.
-
£1,500 - the amount we save a school each time they access the research they ask us to do for them.
-
870,000 hours - the number of hours it would have taken members to discover the insights we've shared with them had they done the research on their own in silos.
-
£25 million - the amount it would have cost schools had they funded those research hours themselves
-
1.5 million - the number of miles our members would have had to have travelled to meet our expert presenters in case study schools had our community not existed online.
-
8,500 people came to the National INSET Day in Dec 2020 when the government left schools with almost no time at all to plan an end of term INSET.
We are just getting started. Join us to write the next chapter.
What's the role?
Your job will be to design and deliver the community writers programme with the aim of maximising the number of MAT and school based writers who share their work on our platform so that members can learn how they achieve their results.

Rewilding Britain wants to see rewilding flourishing across 30% of Britain, reconnecting us with the natural world, sustaining communities and tackling the interconnected nature and climate emergencies.
Since Rewilding Britain was formed in 2015 rewilding has moved from being a niche idea to playing a significant role in some of the biggest global challenges we face. Rewilding Britain is at the forefront of this change, acting as a catalyst for debate and action, and demonstrating the power of working with nature to build a sustainable world where people thrive.
We influence policy, inspire public action and catalyse joined-up practical and financial support to help establish rewilding across Britain’s land and seas. Through a rapidly growing Rewilding Network we’re bringing together a community of rewilders — from land managers and farmers, to charities, community groups and national parks — to inspire and support each other to create a wilder, more prosperous Britain. It’s not too late — but we must act now.
We’re offering a new and unique chance to join the Rewilding Britain team. Imagine a Britain where the largest, most influential and strategically important land areas lead the way in massively upscaling rewilding to tackle the growing climate and biodiversity crises. This is as much about enabling community-led and multi-stakeholder partnerships as persuading individual private, public and conservation NGO landowners. We already engage with a number of key land areas under the various ownership of organisations, public bodies and charities. We’re now at the stage where we need to have a more targeted approach and provide an increased level of support to enable a major upscaling of rewilding in these areas.
Could you see yourself joining a passionate and innovative team of people working to make Britain a wilder place? We're seeking an experienced, self-motivated Rewilding Landscapes Manager to lead our work to upscale rewilding across Britain. The successful candidate will be an innovative, driven and forward-thinking individual with a proven track record of influencing and advising landowners, land managers and wider stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast growing charity and directly contribute to the growth of the rewilding movement.
Job purpose:
To develop and deliver a strategic approach to increasing the land area committed to large-scale rewilding initiatives which deliver nature’s recovery alongside thriving local communities. The focus will be on engaging, inspiring and empowering others to adopt and apply rewilding principles, models and approaches.
Main responsibilities:
In collaboration with senior staff and the Rewilding Manager you will be responsible for leading and project managing the development and delivery of a plan to expand landscape scale rewilding across Britain, including:
-
Providing support and advice to targeted existing larger scale rewilding initiatives.
-
Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders — including landowners and managers - in key potential rewilding landscapes and influencing them to integrate rewilding into their management plans.
-
Researching the potential for rewilding — including its opportunities, cost and benefits and financial viability - in key areas and presenting this in a compelling way.
-
Inspiring, influencing and supporting new initiatives and partnerships focused on upscaling rewilding across larger landscapes and a diverse range of ownership and management types — community-led and multi-stakeholder partnerships, private, public, corporate and NGO landowners, commoners, crofters etc.
-
Working with the Rewilding Manager to ensure that our annual Challenge Fund award acts to catalyse and enable the development of large-scale 'exemplar' rewilding initiatives.
-
Liaising with the Rewilding Manager to encourage new initiatives to join and engage in the Rewilding Network.
-
Representing Rewilding Britain to external stakeholders on various events, platforms and network groups.
-
Delivering effective systems and processes for tracking, monitoring and reporting on progress.
-
Working closely with the Rewilding Director and Rewilding Manager to ensure we best target resources.
Skills, experience and behaviours:
Ideally you will have the following skills and experience. However, this is an exciting new role so there is some scope for refinement of responsibilities, depending on the chosen candidate. If you don’t meet all requirements but believe you could thrive in this role, please consider applying or get in touch to discuss your suitability.
Experience
-
At least eight years’ professional experience in a relevant field, e.g. conservation and/or land management/agency.
-
Demonstrable experience in influencing change, network building and managing strategic partnerships and relations at a senior level.
-
Experience of community and multi-stakeholder led co-design and governance models is highly desirable.
Skills
-
Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to work effectively to deadlines and achieve demonstrable results in a rapidly changing context.
-
Powerful communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders. Media skills are highly desirable.
-
Excellent strategic and systems thinking skills with a proven ability to spot opportunities and solve problems.
Personal Qualities
-
A self-starter with initiative and motivation who works to make things happen
-
Ability to produce high-quality work at pace, thriving in a dynamic organisation.
-
Ability to work autonomously, showing initiative while building excellent relationships with the wider team.
-
Committed to embedding Rewilding Britain’s vision for equality, diversity and inclusion throughout your work, and to bringing our values to life.
-
Passionate about bringing people and communities together to find ways to work, live and prosper within healthy, flourishing ecosystems

About us
Lucy Faithfull Foundation Scotland is part of a UK-wide charity that exists to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation. We’re bold, we’re pioneering, we’re growing, and we want your help.
We’re here for everyone who needs us. We protect children by working with people who pose a risk and diverting them from causing harm. We support individuals and families who have been affected by abuse. And we help professionals who work with families to create safer environments for children.
Our UK wide charity runs the confidential Stop It Now helpline and Shore, a website for teenagers.
We use data and insight, alongside decades of experience, to develop innovative strategies and interventions to make prevention a reality.
We engage with policy and decision makers to advocate for a public health approach to child sexual abuse.
We bring our specialist expertise, understanding and knowledge of what keeps children safe to the widest possible audience.
Our values help guide our actions and help ensure we achieve our purpose: we act with integrity, we are collaborative, we are innovative, we are ambitious and we have hope.
Our Edinburgh based team – formerly known as Stop It Now Scotland - covers the whole of the country. Our practitioners have extensive backgrounds in child protection and sex offender rehabilitation. We provide individual and groupwork to around 150 adults and adolescents every year who present a sexual risk of harm to children who cannot access statutory services. This includes individuals who are under investigation for online sexual offences and those who have not offended but are worried about doing so. We also work with around 100 partners, family members and members of wider networks around those individuals. We use what we learn from our work to develop and deliver resources, information and training for professionals and the public, so that they can better protect children from harm and prevent abuse before it happens.
About the role
We are recruiting a Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team in Edinburgh to lead the delivery of our business development and fundraising strategies.
The role will involve supporting our ambition to increase the volume of specialist support, training and spot purchased assessments we provide for social work, charities and child facing agencies. Working with the director, you will help develop and sustain appropriate strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for development, reviewing resource implications, risk, income potential and likelihood of success.
We have a strong record in fundraising. You will also work closely with our Fundraising Manager, based in our Epsom office, leading on charitable income generation through writing bids that directly apply for funds from a range of bodies. Developing effective and impactful methods to report on the impact of our services and relationship management with funders is a key part of this role.
This exciting new role will play a big part in supporting our efforts to shift the discourse about child sexual abuse ‘upstream’ so that professionals and the public understand in practical terms what they can do to prevent sexual abuse before it happens. We believe our work can only build and grow and lead to the better protection of children from harm through developing our partnerships across a range of sectors (education, social work, leisure services, law enforcement, Scottish government, third sector, safeguarding leads in faith and belief communities, business and corporate sectors, etc), The successful candidate will need to be a good communicator who is committed to the concept of child sexual abuse as a preventable public health issue.
This is a highly rewarding role making a genuine difference to children’s lives. It involves working within a friendly, supportive and hardworking team which is committed to keeping children safe from sexual harm.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic professional, who is proactive and outcome focused with exceptional communication and relationship skills. You must be able to evidence income generation experience, ideally with specific experience putting together multi-year bids to trusts, foundations and/or statutory bodies in a charity setting. You are likely to have experience of working at management level with statutory settings or in the third sector or relevant agency and have a record of building successful partnerships for collaborative bidding and delivery.
We are looking for someone who can develop knowledge of national and local policy and strategy within the external environment to inform business development, influence potential commissioners and where appropriate, co-design services with agencies. An understanding of tendering and public contracts will be an advantage.
