Salford CVS is seeking to appoint to the position of Director of Operations.

The Director of Operations will have wide-ranging responsibilities for the development, implementation and performance of all operational delivery projects and programmes of work. This is a senior role within our well-established charity, and we will expect you to play a proactive and productive role as a member of the organisation’s small Senior Management Team.

You will lead, direct and manage all operational delivery projects and programmes across the organisation. Responsible for all aspects of operational management, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of programmes in line with contract and funder requirements. You will personally line manage all operational Programme Managers, ensuring that service/programme operational plans (including KPIs) and individual staff work plans are in place and being adhered to and delivered against.

We’re looking for someone who is a team player and can take direction from their CEO; someone who is solutions-focused and able to effectively manage a range of people and services. Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

Essential criteria

• Self-motivated and highly organised.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 years in a one to one and group work context.
• Experience of working with young people who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training) in a relevant setting.
• Experience of delivering group work programmes.
• Assistance in the development of a service.

• Ability to network and establish strong positive working relationships with partner organisations.
• Experience of mentoring or taking on a leadership role.

The role of Helpline Advisor

For several years, Guts UK have provided information, support and guidance to our community over the phone and by email. This year, we’re formalising that service into a professional Helpline and are looking for someone to join our small, talented support team.

During the initial 6-month trial period, the Helpline phone lines will be open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, but this may expand or change later in the year. Queries could be received via phone, email or web-query form.

​As a member of the Helpline team, you will offer on demand information, support, guidance and signposting primarily to enquirers living with, or caring for those with, digestive conditions and symptoms. The support offered will include receiving calls, emails and web form queries from people who are looking for more information about their digestive condition, need to know where they can turn to for support, or are waiting on a diagnosis and need help navigating how to get there. You will provide appropriate information, guidance and signposting to our own information and other external support organisations. As a charity, Guts UK covers all digestive symptoms and conditions, across the whole of the UK, and so no two days will be the same and queries will be diverse and interesting.

The role holder will man the Helpline (alongside others from the team) from 10am to 2pm (with a 30-minute lunch break) and during that time will receive, respond to and appropriately log phone calls, web-queries and emails.

Job overview

The Digital and Content Manager is responsible for the development and execution of BeyondAutism’s digital strategy, ensuring all online content and campaigns support the organisation’s strategic goals. The role owns and manages all digital platforms, including the website, email marketing, paid advertising, and social media (Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), ensuring content is engaging, optimised, and aligned with BeyondAutism’s brand identity. This role works closely with the Outreach and Revenue Marketing Manager (ORMM) to ensure digital content and campaigns are effectively aligned with lead generation, outreach, and revenue-driving activities. Together, they will develop, execute, and optimise digital strategies that drive MQL to SQL conversion, audience engagement, and brand awareness.

About the role

Channel ownership and development

• Develop and execute a digital and content strategy that aligns with BeyondAutism’s overall marketing objectives.
• Actively manage and grow the website, social channels (Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), and email database, ensuring all content and contact lists are up to date.
• Own the technical maintenance and development of BeyondAutism websites (WordPress), working with external developers when required.
• Ensure all digital activity is integrated and aligned, supporting schools, outreach, fundraising, and admissions.
• Stay up to date with platform algorithms, trends, and best practices to maximise engagement on both paid and organic content.

Website and SEO management

• Manage the BeyondAutism websites, ensuring they remain compliant, up to date, user-friendly, and optimised for conversions.
• Apply SEO best practices (both technical and onsite SEO) to improve website visibility and search rankings.
• Develop and update landing pages to support marketing campaigns and lead generation.
• Liaise with external agencies as needed to enhance website functionality.

Social media and digital engagement

• Develop and implement a content plan for Bluesky, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
• Ensure consistency in tone of voice, brand messaging, and content quality across all digital platforms.

• Develop segmented audience lists to deliver personalised, high-impact content.
• Set up automated email sequences to nurture leads and encourage engagement.
• Track and optimise email performance (open rates, CTR, conversion rates).

Paid advertising and Google Ad Grants

• Manage Google Ad Grants, ensuring compliance and maximisation of the allocated budget.
• Set up, manage, and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads and social media platforms.
• Continuously track performance and adjust campaigns to improve cost-per-click (CPC) and ROI.

Reporting and analytics

• Establish KPIs for each digital channel in agreement with the Head of Marketing & Communications.
• Monitor website, email, social media, and PPC analytics, converting findings into actionable insights.
• Provide monthly performance reports, assessing the return on investment (ROI) for campaigns.

Marketing and outreach campaigns

• In consultation with ORMM, lead on digital marketing campaigns to drive leads, registrations, and awareness.
• Implement digital aspects of the lead generation strategy, including Lunch & Learn webinars.
• Consider the customer journey and experience in all digital marketing activity.
• Support fundraising and outreach teams in promoting campaigns through digital channels.
• Ensure that all digital marketing campaigns align with BeyondAutism’s wider strategic objectives.

Team and stakeholder collaboration

• Work across the organisation to ensure all digital and content needs are met and incorporated into the overall strategy.
• Act as a subject matter expert for digital marketing tools and software, upskilling the wider team.
• Work closely with external agencies, designers, and developers as needed.
• Line manage the Marketing & Communications Officer, ensuring alignment with digital priorities.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) and G4S to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Stoke Heath. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Stoke Heath, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role is subject to contract award and will be prison-based.

The Head of Business Development works closely with the CEO and has responsibility for all aspects of the development of BLCF’s business interests including long-term income growth, philanthropy, partnerships, communication and new business initiatives. They will nurture and grow the Foundation’s long-term growth income, secure funding for new initiatives and develop and deliver our CSR and social value work, extending the reach of our services to increase our revenue through the excellent communication of our business and strategic aims. Their duties will include identifying leads, pitching companies, NFP, government offices and local authorities, building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing businesses and suppliers, whilst responsible for the overall strategic management and programme development of a portfolio of partnerships. They operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team (incl CEO and Head of Impact) they will contribute to strategic development and delivery of the foundations Strategic Plan, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

Work with the CEO and Head of Impact to develop plans and strategies to ensure quality services are delivered that meet organisational objectives and charitable articles to the highest standards. 

As part of the Senior Leadership team, work with, advise, contribute, and respond to the CEO and Head of Impact and the partnership they create to ensure they are deliverable and adequately resourced and costed and deliverable.  

Work with the CEO to set and implement Strategic Plan Delivery Plan targets and objectives and budgets to deliver them. Ensuring information is cascaded to all staff in their area and that staff connect to the Strategic Plan though their own workplans.

Core Role Delivery

Work with the CEO and under their direction to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and to increase revenue and business growth that support the Foundations long term sustainability and long-term income targets. Basing new work on evidence of need as identified by the Head of Impact . This includes but not exclusively development of new flowthrough opportunities, endowment partners, legacy, corporates, social value and CSR initiatives and all aspects of business growth.  
Provide support and advise to potential and existing partners about our work and proactively look to address inequality and fairer access to opportunities the Foundation offers. 

Oversees the team and external contractors tasked with effective communication with our corporate and business partners to ensure it is a means to drive partnership and business growth.

Staff & Contract Management 

Ensure an appropriate, effective staff, freelance and volunteer structure to deliver the services; recruit and manage staff & volunteers and resources to achieve required service response and quality.

Ensure all staff development and review processes are undertaken including induction, appraisal, and performance, in line with required processes. Resolve performance issues among staff and volunteers engaged in delivering services.

Performance Management

Working under the direction of the CEO develop, agree, and secure agree all partnership agreements and MOU that support the emerging partnerships and ensure they are in line with the Donor Care Plan specifications.  

Working with the CEO and Finance, oversee and monitor all contract and partnership agreement terms with regards to agreed milestones and cashflow of fees and funds; anticipate problem areas and lead as necessary on mitigating action and ensure deliver of agreed targets.

Work to the Head of Impact to inform monitoring reports as required to ensure clear and transparent delivery of agree contracts.  

Ensure appropriate levels of training are maintained and a good working understanding of the policies and procedures of the Foundation. 

Contribute to the Quality Accreditation process to ensure highest standard of the foundation are achieved.

Relationship Management

Under the direction of the CEO develop and maintain proactive, collaborative and effective strategic relationships with corporate partners, commissioners, contract managers, business partners and funders to maximise the charity’s influence and ability to deliver quality services and grow it income and funding.  

Manage the Bedfordshire & Luton Funder Network to maximise opportunities for support, collaboration, and information sharing. 

Representing the Organisation

Maintain an excellent understanding of business and charity sector issues to better inform our work, ensuring information is cascaded to wider members of the team. 

Represent the Foundation at Regional and National events. 

Proactively develop and maintain an appropriate network of contacts in the grant making and business sectors. 

Represent BLCF positively, working closely with the CEO promoting its current work and future development opportunities.

Provide proactive support to the CEO with other initiatives, where required.

Experience

Significant and demonstrable experience of partnership working and income generation and growth with a wide range of businesses, funders, Trusts, Local Authorities and the VCSE.   

Clear understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector (D).

Experience of working on delivery and negotiation of complex contracts and partnership agreements and range of successful funding applications to local and national funding initiatives.  

Considerable experience of developing business initiatives to drive successful organisations in line with Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) priorities. 

Experience in management and delivery of excellent communication campaigns, tools and teams (D). 

Understanding of need in the Bedfordshire County (D). 

Skills & Abilities

Excellent personnel and communication skills and able to work effectively within a team and with external partners and business contacts. 

Excellent skill in processing information accurately and write succinct reports and agreements that’s show clear strategic alignments between partners and BLCF.

You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our offer for carers which seeks to increase the identification of carers within local hospitals, improve carer support during their cared for hospital stay and following their discharge from hospital. 

The Hospital Carers Lead will be responsible for: 

• Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs. 

• Supporting unpaid carers while the person they care for is in hospital via signposting to relevant support and information about their rights. 

• Working collaboratively with partners within the hospital, to raise awareness of carers and increase identification.
