The Kenelm Youth Trust is seeking a Retreat Centre Director to head up both the Alton Castle and Soli residential centres based in Alton, Staffordshire. You will be required to live on site in order to fulfil role requirements.
The Retreat Centre Director will have overall responsibility for the co-ordination and delivery of the residential programmes, day retreats, outreach work and school missions and will work collaboratively with the senior leadership of the Kenelm Youth Trust.
We are seeking an experienced youth work manager to shape and develop the programmes across the site. The role carries considerable responsibility for the community life and working with schools and groups to design tailor made retreats and programmes.

As OTR continues to grow, this position will be instrumental in expanding our online presence and ensuring we connect with a broad audience, including young people, families, professionals, and supporters of our mission. You’ll work on a wide range of projects, creating engaging content that aligns with OTR’s brand and values across our website, social media, and email campaigns. From a fundraising perspective, you will help drive our fundraising activities and ensure efficient administration using the newly acquired ‘Donorfy’ database. This includes leading on the stewardship of donors and community fundraisers, managing our fundraising CRM database, and working on small and medium-sized trust and grant applications. You’ll also support digital campaigns and new initiatives, to encourage sustained support for our work. You’ll directly help to secure the financial support needed to expand OTR’s services and reach more beneficiaries. JOB PURPOSE
The Fundraising and Communications Executive will play a key role in implementing OTR’s fundraising and communications strategies. The role involves planning, creating, curating and managing high-quality digital content across our website, social media platforms and email marketing campaigns. Furthermore, you will support key areas of our fundraising strategy, including trust and grant applications, horizon scanning and ensuring excellent fundraising administration across all areas of activity.
This position is instrumental in supporting the Head of Fundraising in developing and strengthening OTR’s income streams and increasing awareness of OTR’s services through effective communications.
Specific role duties
Supporting the fundraising strategy
• Lead on OTR’s donor and community fundraiser stewardship through excellent communication and effective relationship management.
• Lead on the implementation of fundraising communications across channels.
• Responsible for small to medium size trust and grant applications, including horizon scanning
• Support the stewardship of small and medium-sized trusts and foundations including scoping, applications, reporting and funder management.
• Create engaging content and campaigns to drive income generation.
• Help build the small pool of regular donors.
Website and CRM maintenance
• Work with OTR’s Head of Fundraising, the Administration Manager and web developer to maintain, update and enhance the OTR website.
• Monitor website performance, user engagement and SEO trends, suggesting and
implementing improvements to enhance user experience and visibility.
• Lead on ensuring our CRM (Donorfy) is utilised effectively to record, monitor and report on fundraising activity and income.
Social media
• Working with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and Volunteer Coordinator and Business Support Officer, contribute to OTR’s social media presence by creating and scheduling engaging, accessible, and informative content that resonates with our audience and supports OTR’s mission.
• Monitor social media platforms to ensure timely and appropriate responses to comments and messages.
• Identify new opportunities to grow OTR’s social media reach, building awareness of our services, fundraising and outreach work.
• Regularly report on social media performance, using insights to inform future content and strategy.
• Utilise paid ads to support fundraising and training.
Email marketing
• Support the planning, creation, and delivery of OTR’s, soon to be launched, email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, fundraising initiatives and service information and signposting.

Content creation

Role Overview
You will be integral to achieving our strategic priorities of generating income through repeat support, and providing exceptional supporter journeys for our community, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. We have received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an exciting new programme, aiming to improve the experience and continuity of hospice care for young people with life-limiting conditions transitioning from children's to adult services.
You will provide clinical leadership of this UK-wide programme, empowering young people, hospices and system partners to overcome the inequities of care experienced by patients and families throughout this transition.
You will become a crucial part of the Programmes Directorate at Hospice UK. This team is responsible for areas of real relevance and importance to our hospices’ membership, including: commissioning support; data, research and evidence; clinical and non-clinical projects; learning platforms: sharing good practice; and a well-regarded and commercially successful portfolio of conferences, including our flagship national conference.
You will bring the clinical leadership needed to deliver this exciting new programme. You will lead our young person’s forum and provide invaluable mentorship to hospices. Supported throughout by our Senior Programme Manager and Team Administrator, you will further develop our Transition Community of Practice and help us collate and share programme data across the sector. You will lead on partnerships and strategic relationships, with Together for Short Lives and other decision-makers across our sector. When representing Hospice UK and our programme externally, you will offer clinical expertise leadership within the field of Transition.
You will have senior palliative care experience, working in the field of transition. You will have led clinical programmes across systems and/or regions, and experience supporting organisations with Quality Improvement projects. You will be an excellent and influential communicator, who embraces working with data while maintaining a strategic overview.

Role Context and Purpose
Following recent and projected growth of the organisation, Gaddum is looking to recruit additional resource within the Central team to bolster its support to the organisation, ensuring it delivers safe and high quality services.
The post holder, line managed by the Finance and Resources Director, will join the Finance Assistant and Central Services Coordinator in providing additional resource to the centralised function. Whilst the specific focus of the role will be by way processing payroll and employee expenses, due to the size of the team, there is an expectation that they will work closely with the Central Services Coordinator and Finance Assistant providing additional support to those roles when needed. This is an up to 28 hours per week role, working flexibly and hybrid to suit the needs of the organisation and individual.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Management and delivery of Gaddum’s monthly payroll for all employees:
- Collating information and inputting into company system
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries including adding new starters, processing leavers, and any other contractual changes
Management of pension scheme:
- Ensuring compliance with auto-enrolment pension
- Adding new starters and processing leavers with the pension provider along with any changes that might impact pension
- Updating pension provider with any monthly contributions
- Supporting employees with payroll queries and investigating discrepancies
- Prepare salary reports to management, explaining key reasons for variances to budget
- Processing and payment of employee expenses on a bi-weekly basis
- Regular cover for Central Services Coordinator on their non-working days and during periods of leave
- Support Finance Assistant during periods of leave and busy periods
- Provide Administrative support with Central team
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- To meet regularly with Finance & Resources Director for supervisions
- Undertake additional duties within competence of post holds as required by the Finance & Resources Director
- Flexible approach to working patterns and in-office working days

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. About the role
London Borough of Lambeth is commissioning a resettlement therapeutic service for refugees resettled in Lambeth via Resettlement Schemes funded and overseen by the Home Office. The Service will offer therapeutic and psychological interventions to resettled refugees including individuals, groups and families.
In this role, you will:
- Offer therapeutic intervention to include psycho-education groups, one-to-one therapy to adults and children.
- Provide a holistic assessment to refugee adult, children and young people who have been resettled in Lambeth.
- Liaise with educational and social care services as appropriate to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people being supported by Refugee Council.
- Offer consultation and awareness training to educational staff working with resettled refugees across the region
- Take a lead on Project monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on outcomes to a high standard.
