Community Hub Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Hub Coordinator to continue the transformation of our service offerings and create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community hub. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment that empowers marginalised groups, including asylum seekers, refugees, and those facing isolation or homelessness, helping them to thrive within the Newham community. We want to support individuals to move from whats wrong to whats strong, and you will be a key catalyst for this. 

As the Community Hub Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key aspects of our community hub, ensuring it remains a safe space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and build relationships. You will lead a team of committed volunteers and sessional staff, manage various hub activities, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide holistic support for our service users. As part of your remit you will also work alongside colleagues to develop our exciting new community meanwhile space by organising events, workshops and informal opportunities for connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Building & Engagement: Develop and manage a welcoming hub that operates 5 days a week, offering tailored activities and programs that meet the needs and strengths of the community.
• Support & Empowerment: Work closely with volunteers to provide encouragement and support, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among hub participants. To include developing a steering group to help amplify the voices of marginalised individuals and groups.
• Partnership Development: Maintain and strengthen partnerships with local organisations and agencies, ensuring integrated and holistic support for service users.
• Operational Leadership: Assist in the hub's daily operations, including coordinating volunteers and supporting the management of the community café.
• Promotion & Outreach: Promote the hub's activities and conduct outreach to engage vulnerable groups, ensuring inclusivity and cultural diversity.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Compliance: Use tools like Upshot to track participation and outcomes, ensuring compliance with funders as well as our own strategic objectives. 

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement or project management and possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of developing and delivering community-based programs. You should be IT literate, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

Areas of responsibility

The post holder will be responsible for the following:

• Providing a specialist advice and advocacy service to the homeless guests of our services, which include partner day centres and night shelters through the winter season.

Who are we looking for to join #TeamGMYN?

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Programme Coordinator to lead our programme for cared for young people aged 10-16 in Bury and Oldham. The programme funded by Children in Need is now in its eleventh year and has provided much needed support for cared for young people.

The programme will engage cared for young people in a variety of weekly enrichment activities, one-to-one support and holiday provision. It will help individuals to build new friendships, develop aspirations and gain access to a supportive worker who they can approach for advice and guidance.

In this role you will need to be confident in inspiring and engaging cared for young people and be able to develop positive partnerships with various stakeholders.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator that can be a flexible and committed team player. In return you will have the chance to have creative ownership of this programme, bringing your own skills and ideas to make it an amazing experience for young people to be involved in.

About Young Sounds UK

Young Sounds exists because musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. We’re here to change this in two key ways:

• We support young musicians from low-income families with funding and other help;

• We support music education through training, advocacy and research.

We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in April 2023 and also joined an expanded cohort of National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs). We currently support around 900 individual young people across the UK every year and demand for our support is increasing. The role

The Data Officer will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes. Young Sounds is a reflective organisation. We’ve always invested time and effort in seeking out, understanding and demonstrating the difference our programmes are making. We believe in learning from experience. This is what we mean by evaluation.

Since 2023 we have committed to evaluating all three of our main programmes, each of which tackles a key barrier to young people’s musical progression. Each quarter we review our progress against both our Arts Council England Activity Plan (where measures of success are agreed annually) and the actions we’ve set for each year against each of Arts Council England’s four Investment Principles. We believe that data plays an integral part in telling the story of our work, and we regularly draw upon the information collated through evaluation to update our wider funding base (e.g. Trusts and Foundations) on the work we are doing. The Data Officer will work with the External Evaluator to enable us to report effectively and accurately on our progress to all our funders.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team of dedicated staff that provide a specialist service to service leavers and their families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate mentor coordinator to join our mentoring service, with the ability to manage and support SSAFA beneficiaries and volunteer mentors. 

You will act as an operational point of contact for your area of responsibility, coordinating, managing and recording the work of all your volunteer mentors. You will conduct specialist needs assessments for potential beneficiaries, then monitor, support and review the mentoring relationships which will involve regular engagement with the volunteers. You will also be tasked with briefing, presenting, and coordinating the engagement of key stake holders in your area of responsibility.

This role is home based with extensive travel across the area the South East of England.

With regular team meetings and a variety of communication mediums you will be given ongoing support, training and mentoring throughout. We are a remote team and well connected to all colleagues. About you

We are looking for an exceptional candidate, who thrives on challenge. A determined, highly motivated individual who can build relationships and reputation, and communicate effectively across the region whilst working from home.  To carry out this role successfully you will be able to work as part of a team, whilst being self-motivated to work independently.  Ideally you will have experience of managing a large geographic area. Excellent communication and IT skills and a good understanding of MS Office 365 including databases are a must. Volunteer/ people management would be beneficial whilst a willingness to learn and a passion for making a difference is essential.

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice deliver the Haringey Community Collaborative, providing strategic leadership and capacity building for the borough’s Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). MIND in Haringey and Public Voice are ambitious, committed and passionate in their support of the VCS, and the social impact that it collectively delivers for residents and communities every day.

The Haringey Community Collaborative service involves providing Haringey VCS: 

• One-to-one and group capacity building support

The Haringey Community Collaborative team is located across and employed by either Public Voice and MIND in Haringey. About You

As Team Leader you will ensure good clinical practice and see that the service operates within policy and statutory requirements. Ideally, you have a professional qualification in health/social care, youth and community work, (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Candidates with proven experience of working in the substance misuse field and a commitment to complete NVQ4 Health and Social Care or equivalent will also be considered. Knowledge of alcohol and health related issues, including the functional model of alcohol use is essential, as is experience of staff supervision/management/training. Familiar with primary, secondary and other outreach settings, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals too. What’s more, you have a good understanding of safeguarding issues, and are great at engaging effectively with clients. Good IT skills (we use Microsoft Office) are also required, together with a flexible, can‐do and results driven approach.

About the role:

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. You will also co-ordinate the provision of multi-agency support which focuses on working with domestic abuse survivors to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. If you have experience or have been trained or are qualified in the fields related  to substance misuse, criminal jusice, law, social work or domestic abuse we would love to hear from you.

Ability to hold a case load and carry out support work within the local community being alert to the mental health needs of residents of Newham.

Provide support and signposting in various ways as agreed upon with the PCN and in a wider partnership. This may include (but is not exclusive):

 Meeting patients face to face in informal and formal settings to encourage engagement

 Work within the MDT of the PCN, taking actions as agreed by the Multi Disciplinary Teams  and recording the outputs and outcomes appropriately

Provide individual patients support and signposting in a range of ways as agreed with the PCN and wider delivery partnership

Group facilitation Coaching, Building Trust, and Motivating people in their progress

Referrals to other mental health provision within the Borough of Newham 

Direct, individual support to patients on a case-by-case basis and assessing pertinent signs (as trained)

Signposting to community services

Ongoing monitoring of risk to build a positive but sensitive attitude to caseload

 Providing clarity to the MDT and people on their lists as to how different areas of their need are being addressed by the other provisions they are engaged with

Provide continuity and reassurance to the people on case load

Build resilience in the people on caseload and ensure themes are fed back into design, delivery, and the development of services

Provide feedback to the PCN team and upwards about the gaps in service provision as illustrated by the people they are working with

referrals should be done within 28 days of the mental health need being identified in line with guidance offered by the PCN

What does good look like for this role?

Goals will be agreed upon with you in collaboration with your line manager at Aston-Mansfield and with our lead partners Community Links MIND and ELFT The successful management of your respective caseload – strong initial assessment, action planning and goal setting, networking with relevant stakeholders, and active, engaging patients both face to face and remotely will be critical aspects of the role. Working with multiple agencies collaboratively that promotes patient welfare and outcomes whilst sharing learning and impact is essential in the role's success, as is inquisitiveness and confidence in the approach. Induction and training will be provided for this role.

The Grant Funding Assistant processes applications from food banks including the awarding and paying of grants to food banks in the Trussell Trust network.  They maintain data on grant applications and awards, for routine processes and for communications with grant applicants. 

Role responsibilities

· To deliver clear, informative and timely communications about the grant funding programme to stakeholders, including to potential and actual grant applicants, and foodbank-facing staff

· To administer efficient recording, processing and reporting of data in relation to grant applications, awards and payments

· To systematically undertake the thorough and prompt checking of new grant applications, including for completeness, eligibility and compliance with guidelines and criteria

· To convey clearly with grant applicants where actions are required, and monitor completion of those actions
