ABOUT THIS ROLE

More in Common is seeking a full-time Research and Data Analyst as we grow our team and advance our mission of building a more united and inclusive UK, where all people feel respected, better understood, and share a sense of belonging. More in Common UK is a small team with a start-up culture where everyone is expected to execute a range of responsibilities. The Analyst will serve as a key member of the UK team, supporting our core areas of research, communications, partnership, and client work. The role will be based in our London office Monday-Thursday with Friday at the office or working at home. The postholder will report to our Research and Analysis Manager.

Analysis

• Translating public opinion data into insights for diverse audiences including policymakers, media, and the general public

• Performing analysis using techniques including cluster analysis, multi-level regression modelling, conjoint analysis and MaxDiff analysis

• Telling compelling stories through creative data visualisation

• Proactively expanding the team’s analytical capabilities

Research

• End-to-end project management for public opinion research projects from design to execution, analysis and presentation of insights

• Conducting quantitative fieldwork including survey drafting and executing advanced survey experiments

• Upholding a culture of best research practice, including supporting global colleagues with research queries

Dissemination and partnerships

• Managing external relationships with clients, partners and research vendors

• Identifying and recruiting new partners and opportunities across business, civil society and the public sector

• Designing insights products to disseminate our insights and research

• Developing press releases for journalists, including conducting data checks

• Drafting and co-authoring public-facing research reports and briefings

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in coding in R is a requirement for this role.

Beyond this, the following would be an asset:

• Demonstrated expertise extracting meaningful insights from complex data sets

• Strong data visualisation skills, with the ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences

• Good understanding of statistical methods including regression modelling and hypothesis testing

• Keen interest in learning new analytical techniques

• A track record of project management

• Curiosity for understanding and engaging people, and a desire to tell new stories that focus on building upon common ground in Britain today

• An understanding of the UK political system and a keen interest in current affairs and UK public policy

• Professional background in public opinion or market research would be desirable.

We’re seeking a dynamic leader to drive the financial growth of the organisation by expanding, diversifying and strengthening the sustainability of our voluntary income, in line with our Strategy 2030 and beyond.

You will lead and inspire a high-performing team of fundraising experts covering all disciplines including individual giving, major donors, legacies, challenge events, community fundraising, special events, trusts and corporate relationships.

The role combines strategic oversight with operational involvement, including direct management of key supporter relationships as well as representing the charity at high-level meetings and external events. SIA has doubled its income over the past six years and we have ambitious plans to build on successful fundraising initiatives, as well as develop new ones.

Key responsibilities:

• Rasing Funds: Be responsible for the achievement of realistic - yet ambitious - financial targets as agreed with the Director of Business Development.
• Strategic Planning: Lead on the development and delivery of strategic and operational plans to achieve growth, diversification and sustainability of SIA’s voluntary income.
• Team Management: Provide support, motivation and strategic direction to the fundraising team to deliver high quality results, including direct line management of four Manager-level roles.
• Capacity Building: Develop knowledge, skills and capacity within the Fundraising team to facilitate the achievement of objectives, whilst building succession plans for the future.
• Reporting: Monitor and evaluate performance across all fundraising activities, preparing reports to the Senior Leadership Team, Committees and Board of Trustees
• Innovating: Develop Proposals for long-term strategic income growth initiatives, in collaboration with the Director of Business Development.
• Leading: Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to addressing SIA-wide priorities, opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborating: Work with colleagues at all levels within the organisation, actively collaborating across teams and providing fundraising expertise and insight.
• Relationship Building: Build strong professional relationships with externa; partners, supporters, volunteers, Trustees, Vice Presidents, Ambassadors, advisors, consultants, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
• Designing: Contribute to the design and development of charitable programmes and services that underpin major funding propositions and compelling fundraising campaigns.
• Managing Risk: Play a leadership role in managing strategic and operational risks relating to income and ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising laws, guidelines and best practice, as well as SIA’s policies and procedures.
• Networking: Actively engage in relationship mapping and networking to expand SIA’s pool of potential donors, supporters and champions, including taking a direct lead role in managing key relationships.

You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework. 

We have 2 posts available - 1 based in our Brighton and Hove office, and the second either based in our office, but fully remote working possible.  For both posts you will have lots of variety, providing telephone specialist debt and benefit advice and casework across a range of projects.  If you are based in our office you will also deliver face-to-face advice both in the office and other outreach locations including Foodbanks and with inpatients.

The Children’s Literacy Charity is a specialist literacy intervention charity providing expert tuition to children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to close their literacy gap and achieve their full potential.

The charity has grown significantly over recent years, delivering its high impact Literacy and Reading Lab programmes to children who need the most help to catch up with their better off peers.  This includes children experiencing economic disadvantage or who may have special educational needs or have English as an additional language.

• Strong strategic finance and financial forecasting experience including working knowledge of charity SORP accounting, VAT, Gift Aid and balance of restricted and unrestricted income
• Proven skill and confidence in building, working with and interpreting complex financial spreadsheets and data; including the ability to model different financial scenarios and communicate effectively both with qualified finance professionals and non-finance colleagues

We are looking for a proactive Rent Services Partner to join the dynamic and friendly Rent Service Team, playing a key role in the organisation to support clients to rebuild their lives. This busy team processes Housing Benefit payments from 55 local authorities in the UK for up to 4000 St Mungo’s residents; and collect over £45 million in rent and service charge. 

In the role of Rent Service Partner, you will:

• Deliver a high quality rent collection and arrears recovery service, supporting our clients by working towards minimising rent arrears and maximising client income.
• Complete accurate court applications and present cases to court. 
• Oversee a busy and varied case load of rent arrears cases ensuring outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.
• Provide an accurate, sensitive and responsive rent account enquiry and information service.
•  Work closely with key stakeholders, being the lead liaison with Local Authorities for a designated caseload.

You will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

We are looking for someone with good problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team. If you can demonstrate the below, we encourage you to apply.

• Experience of working in a rent service, income collection or credit control team and overseeing a case load of rent arrears cases providing quality advice and support in a busy target driven role.
• Experience of presenting cases to court and knowledge of the court system and legal process relating to debt recovery.

Key Skills and Attributes: 

This role requires a confident fundraiser and project manager with a solid grasp of fundraising from individuals, either donor recruitment or retention, or in direct marketing within the charity or commercial sector.

Experience of developing and managing multi-channel fundraising projects is essential using a range of media channels. These include telemarketing, print (supporter magazine, cash appeals, retention mailings, inserts and cold mailings), paid social media, Display, YouTube, PPC  and email.

You’ll need to demonstrate a good level of organisational, time management and project management skills, and show a great attention to detail, leading on the monitoring and reporting of projects.

You’ll provide strong creative thinking, and work alongside the internal Content and Creative teams to ensure that content is accessible, inclusive, and honours our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 

You’ll gain support from the Senior Individual Giving Officer on using the latest CRM database and create mailing selection lists and help take part in quarterly reforecasting. And show a good understanding of the both the charity fundraising sector and the climate crisis, in order to keep up with the latest trends and techniques.

The Individual Giving program has evolved hugely over the past few years, with a big increase in our digital activity and collaboration with campaign teams to create compelling and integrated plans. You’ll need to show a  track record of engaging online audiences, with an ability to produce compelling copy and content.

Each Individual Giving Officer manages a selection of projects across recruitment or experience, rotating project management to support development and learning across the team.

Knowledge of relevant compliance including Fundraising Code of Practice, CAP code, UK data protection law and complaints handling requirements in relation to individual giving is essential.

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Worker who will support the Diocesan Safeguarding Team in the delivery of case work, cold case reviews and management of casework recording.

The Digital Marketing Lead will be the key contact for digital communications and marketing within the organisation, providing input into annual budgets and plans from the perspective of their expertise.

Your role will involve designing, testing, and delivering engaging campaigns, and mapping user journeys to enhance supporter experience. 

This position is a new one, and one of the key recommendations of a fundraising research assignment conducted at the end of 2024.

You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our offer for carers which seeks to increase the identification of carers within local hospitals, improve carer support during their cared for hospital stay and following their discharge from hospital. 

The Hospital Carers Lead will be responsible for: 

• Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs. 

• Supporting unpaid carers while the person they care for is in hospital via signposting to relevant support and information about their rights. 

• Working collaboratively with partners within the hospital, to raise awareness of carers and increase identification.
