We are looking for an experienced relationship fundraiser to join our small team and help us engage with, and fundraise from, corporates, membership organisations, special interest groups and community groups across the north of England and Wales, and Scotland.

Overview
Energise Africa is at an exciting and pivotal time in its development. We are currently recruiting a Commercial Director to drive the business as it looks to scale. Energise Africa has been founded and incubated by two of the leading direct impact investing platforms in Europe, Ethex in the UK and Lendahand in the Netherlands and backed by incredible supporters such as UKAid and P4G. Since 2017, during this seed stage, Energise Africa has raised over £35m from UK retail investors to accelerate energy access in Sub–Saharan Africa and has won numerous awards including the UN Climate Action award for climate friendly investments.
As we get ready to take on new investment, and expand into new geographies and sectors, it is time for the organisation to build a new dedicated team.
Commercial Director
To take our business to the next level we need a dedicated Commercial Director to help accelerate our growth.
There are four key strands to the role:
Strategy and New Business
· Work alongside the CEO to develop the growth strategy for Energise Africa
· Managing existing and develop new origination partnerships to bring new issuers to the platform
· Lead the EA origination efforts and structure proposed transactions
· Work alongside our operations team to ensure efficient processes are developed and implemented to ensure smooth onboarding of new investees
· Work alongside our marketing team to ensure that origination partners and investees give us the information that they need to effectively promote investment opportunities
· Drafting and negotiation of agreements with origination partners and prospective investees
· Lead the due diligence process, present cases to the Investment Committee and onboard new investees
· Manage existing and explore new co-financing partnerships
Investee Management
· Demonstrate excellent relationship management with our origination partners and investees.
· Monitor and manage the investment portfolio along with our origination partners.
· Manage workout situations and restructuring of clients in arrears with support from the legal team and origination partners.
Leadership
· As a key member of the Energise Africa Senior Management Team, help to build the investment strategy for Energise Africa and to deliver against agreed objectives.
Product Development
· Cooperate in product development which may involve different currency solutions, guarantees and de-risking projects as well as looking at innovative financing structures.
· Support the development of new tools and technology to make the investment process more efficient.

Key skills and experience:
· A passion for sustainable development/impact investing or similar.
· 5 years of experience in impact investing (debt or equity) or corporate lending in emerging markets and/or in renewable energy or climate finance sectors.
· Experience of helping to scale a start-up and/or entrepreneurship within a company.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Great negotiation skills - cooperative, empathetic and get the deals closed.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent EA at the highest levels.
· Fluent in English and ideally French or Spanish, both written and spoken.
· Willing to travel internationally (global emerging/frontier markets and European countries).
· Tech-savvy and proven experience with data-driven investment decisions.
· Bachelors or Masters degree.

THE ROLE
The Fundraising Officer/s will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating, and executing all fundraising activities and initiatives. The role requires the development and implementation of strategies to maximise donations and enhance donor relationships, in alignment with Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy. This position involves engaging with individual donors, businesses, and community partners to secure financial support for Islamic Help’s life-saving projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager/Head of Fundraising, to identify specific programmes and funding priorities, and organise targeted fundraising campaigns.
- Monitor donor funding trends and priorities and communicate this information to the Fundraising Manager/Head of Fundraising to ensure alignment with Islamic Help’s objectives.
- Plan and co-ordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives such as tours, treks, lectures, and dinners.
- Recruit, engage, and train volunteers to support fundraising activities and events.
- Track, monitor, and process pledges made by colleagues at events, ensuring records are regularly updated.
- Monitor online donations and activities, maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring relevant departments and donors are informed.
- Create promotional materials to support fundraising activities, including merchandise, banners, and other marketing collateral.
- Identify local, national, and international funding opportunities, and contribute to the development of Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy.
- Manage fundraising income by maintaining reports, tracking donations, and handling donor correspondence, and evaluate the success of fundraising activities.
- Identify partnership opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally for joint fundraising campaigns, aiming to expand Islamic Help’s capabilities in skills, expertise, and donor base.

About the role
As a charitable organisation, our members are essential to sustaining the future of the Library and achieving our new five-year strategy.

About you
Passionate about creating engaging copy for different audiences and channels, you will have a good level of experience with e-communications, e-software, data reporting and CRMs. You will have a background in membership marketing, ideally within an arts/cultural or charity organisation, and experience in implementing marketing retention campaigns to meet set targets. You will also have experience assisting with the delivery of events and be available to work at Library events as needed.
You will have strong writing skills with attention to detail and an ability to identify and produce engaging stories. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, be organised and plan workload effectively to meet deadlines. As the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls), this is an exciting time to join Advance while we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls aged 13-25 in need of support. You will project manage the mentoring service and recruit, support and develop Volunteer Mentors in their roles. Working as part of an innovative and newly-funded service, you will also work closely with the Maia Service Manager to capture and share feedback and learning from the project, using this to inform the ongoing development of Advance’s ways of working with YWG and disseminating findings widely across key partners and networks.
About You:
To be successful as the Peer Mentor Coordinator (Young Women & Girls) you will need the below experience and skills:
You will be able to project manage the Maia’s Service’s peer mentoring programme, liaising with keyworkers and partner agencies to successfully establish and run a peer mentoring programme across six boroughs.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Volunteer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Volunteer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity.
DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.
Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD. We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We’ve developed the infrastructure of DMD clinical trial delivery in the UK. We engage industry and regulators to accelerate access to treatments. The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent organisational skills are a must along with being ambitious, driven and passionate about representing Duchenne UK and supporting our mission.
The Fundraising Manager will report to the Director of Fundraising and line manage the Fundraising Assistant. Job Description
This role plays a key part in advancing the fundraising of Duchenne UK to enable more investment into research, advancing treatments and supporting the DMD community. A core part of this will be building relationships with key supporters, including our incredible Family and Friends Funds, corporate supporters and community of fundraisers.
You will be central to the development and delivery of key events and campaigns throughout the year to achieve ambitious fundraising targets. You will have budget management responsibilities and provide insight into activities to drive improvements and further success in future years.
The role will contribute to overall fundraising growth; ensuring the guiding engagement and fundraising principles are delivered, and that all fundraising delivers an exceptional and remarkable donor experience to which Duchenne UK prides itself.
Fundraising and business development
- Community
- Key relationship manager for Duchenne UK Family and Friends Funds, engaging them through fundraising, supporting third party events and providing regular project and charity updates
- Develop and implement the Family Fund and Community Fundraising stewardship strategy

- Oversee management of regular giving, including working with the Communications team to promote this type of giving. Provide stewardship to Regular Givers, with support from the Fundraising Assistant.
- Lead the identification and development of new income sources with the support of the Fundraising team to increase donations, improve the profile of Duchenne UK and enhance our reputation within the donor community; including corporate partnerships, fundraising campaigns, third party activity, challenge events, regular giving and legacy

The campaign is funding specialist nurses and therapists for Parkinson’s, making a huge difference to the lives of people living with the condition. Oakview is a supported living project for 10 customers with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It provides a 24/7 support service, with an emphasis on choice and control for customers, enabling them to achieve greater independence, improved quality of life and integration into the wider community. Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. This includes providing personal care, domestic duties, emotional and social support in a person centred way. Staff will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
The service is staffed 24/7 and all staff is required to cover at least one sleep in a week.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.
We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting. Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.
You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.
The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project hybrid working will form part of the role. Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area.
