The Role
Are you a marketing communications professional passionate about the potential of children and young people? 

Global Fund for Children is looking for a Senior Manager to join our global Marketing and Communications Team in an exciting new role. Your main responsibility is to help us collectively deliver inspiring, impactful engagement that builds our brand relevance with our target audiences.

This role will work to develop integrated and cross-discipline marketing and communications plans that promote our work and reputation.  You will collaborate with senior leadership and engage with key stakeholders, colleagues and partners around the world. You’ll create and implement strategies that elevate our profile, grow our key audiences and ensure our messaging resonates across all platforms.

You will be the strategic lead on our digital channels and are joining at a key moment of opportunity - we are launching a new website in October. We launched a new database and a new email system this summer and overhauled our look and feel as part of our 30th-anniversary activities earlier in 2024. You will lead on a new strand of work to develop our brand narrative, tone of voice and our key messages.

You will be obsessed with the quality and performance of all our outputs and have a track record of analysing data and results, making adjustments or complete pivots to ensure we achieve our ambitious goals and objectives.

You will be the lead for our work with high-profile influencers and celebrities as we continue to build our new global programme. You will have the unique opportunity to work as part of the Funder Safeguarding Collaborative (FSC) at a time of international expansion and growing profile, as their Marketing and Communications Lead.

This role will directly line-manage one of our team based in Spain, and work closely with the rest of the Marcomms team across Southern and East Africa and in the US.  You will be part of an extremely ambitious and successful Development, Marketing and Communications (DMC) team based in the UK and US. You will have regular joint projects and campaigns with our Development colleagues to deliver strategic funder communications goals that ensure we grow income and influence to continue to support hundreds of community-based organisations around the world annually.

What will you be doing?

1. Provide overall strategic leadership across all our digital channels – website, email and social media to achieve engagement and growth goals across key audiences in line with our values and GFC’s safeguarding and safer communications policies.

2. Work collaboratively with your direct report to roll out digital plans to deliver our agreed strategy.

3. Lead the team on data, insight, and analysis of content across all channels to inform spending, resource and to deliver against objectives.

4. Working across the team, lead on editorial content decisions, engaging with key stakeholders, to deliver on strategic goals and KPIs.

5. Lead our new and growing Global Ambassador programme ensuring our current ambassadors are effectively stewarded and strong, positive relationships fostered.

6. Identify and build our pipeline of potential Global Ambassadors to achieve long-term strategic organisational goals.

7. Lead the development of insights and understanding of our key target audiences – donors, partners (community-based organisations who we fund and partner with), and the sector/our peers.

8. Line manage the Communications Officer (based in Spain) and provide leadership to a hybrid team across multiple time zones including:

8a) Providing coaching and regular feedback to direct report/s with a focus on goal setting and personal development.

8b) Contributing to the development of a strong values-based team culture across different countries, areas and streams of work

8c) Creating and/or facilitating space for regular training, learning, team building and development opportunities for team members

9. Work with the Senior Director on GFC’s events strategy and delivery.

10. Work with the Funder Safeguarding Collaborative (FSC)  Director and team as the lead on FSC marketing and communications.

11. Work proactively with your Senior Manager colleague based in the US daily to ensure smooth and successful ‘business as usual’ for the team globally.

12. Work proactively and collaboratively with the Senior Manager in the US to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the team, Senior Leadership and Board as required by the Senior Director of Marcomms or Vice President of Strategic Partnerships (DMC).

13. With colleagues in the Development team, work collaboratively and proactively to deliver contractual and opportunistic goals that add value and impact to our partnerships.

14. With colleagues in the Development team, and where it is appropriate, collaborate on pitches, proposals, deliverables, and reports to support income goals.

About you

Essential experience and skills

Our ideal Senior Manager in Marketing and Communications will:

1) Have significant proven experience working in a high-functioning, target-driven Marketing and Communications team, where you have a track record of success in meeting targets and objectives.

2) Have significant relevant experience in leading multiple functions within a marketing and communications setting, this can be in any setting but must include leadership of Digital as part of your experience. Could also include Brand Narrative and Copy; Celebrities and Influencers; Events or others relevant to the role.

3) Have significant, proven experience in setting up, leading, and executing digital strategies to achieve ambitious targets across multiple channels

4) Be an experienced, value-led people manager, with a passion for supporting and developing people to achieve their potential.

5) Have event management experience – be highly organised,  target and audience-focused, and be able to juggle multiple tasks, and stakeholders simultaneously.

6) Have experience working with high-profile, influential supporters to lead our Global Ambassador programme – Have the ability to identify prospects, and initiate and cultivate relationships.

7) Be creative, strategic and curious in order to lead and deliver our ambitious plans in service of our partners and our mission.

8) Be bold, resilient and fail fast as we challenge the status quo and continue pioneering new ways of philanthropy.

9) Be confident, and proactive and be able to work with minimal supervision in a busy team.

Desirable experience and skills

· Experience working and leading in a hybrid setting across a variety of time zones.

· Experience working in a departmental leadership team.

· Experience working with a development/fundraising team to deliver financial goals or partnership deliverables.

· An understanding of the funder system in the UK, US, and/or globally.

Salary - UK-based starting salary is £55,000.

Weekly hours – 35 hours per week.

Holidays – 30 days annual leave and 8 public holidays. The basic annual leave allowance increases to 35 days after 4 years continuous employment.

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice deliver the Haringey Community Collaborative, providing strategic leadership and capacity building for the borough’s Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). MIND in Haringey and Public Voice are ambitious, committed and passionate in their support of the VCS, and the social impact that it collectively delivers for residents and communities every day.

The Haringey Community Collaborative service involves providing Haringey VCS: 

• One-to-one and group capacity building support

The Haringey Community Collaborative team is located across and employed by either Public Voice and MIND in Haringey. This role works alongside a manager for Haringey’s digital community of practice platform, NavNet; and a communications lead for the Community Collaborative. The role reports to the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

About You 

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to the local community through their work, supporting the success of the voluntary and community sector. You will need to have experience working with organisations and groups to help them develop and grow, and convening.

A confident public speaker with strong presenting skills with the ability to present to a wide range of diverse community groups. Able to engage with people and have a good understanding of co-production.

Able to carry out research and find suitable funding opportunities supporting VCS to write bids and method statements. Designing and delivering workshops on various topics that will support the local VCS in Haringey based on their needs. 

Having a knowledge of the VCS organisations within Haringey would be an advantage but not essential.

Our client Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) is a housing association with charitable aims that create positive change in people’s lives. As well as homes and support, PBHA empowers people to learn, access work and discover their creative talents. Based in Hackney, Islington and Newham, PBHA work with people who are homeless, have mental ill health, learning difficulties and multiple needs. PBHA’s work enables people to move on and lead independent lives.

The role:

The postholder will be vital in securing growth in our Enterprises, Training and Supported Housing services. They will create imaginative proposals and partnerships to attract funding for our Enterprises and Training team to access trusts, foundations and national funding programmes. They will develop local marketing and fundraising initiatives enabling us to create new ideas and enhance our work. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop new supported housing services, their role will be crucial to us achieving our Income Strategy and the goals of our next five-year Business Plan.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Compile and upkeep a database of relevant opportunities on Zoho database so that we can accurately plan fundraising activity

• Evaluate opportunities with the CEO to ensure they meet organisational needs and that we achieve a high success rate

• Write and submit a range of well-researched and persuasive fundraising applications to trusts and other sources for support

• Lead on completion and submission of complex funding applications, involving other PBHA staff, notably the Enterprises and Training Manager.

• Build and nurture positive relationships to mutual benefit with trusts and foundations, promoting the impact of PBHA and how we may enable a trust to realise their mission

• Work in conjunction with the Director of Finance to create budgets and collate financial information fully supporting the delivery of proposed projects or activities

• Develop, in conjunction with a team of volunteers and the Information Project Manager, a range of mechanisms for maintaining and developing relationships with funders, including using Zoho, social media and events

• Work with managers and use Zoho to ensure accurate and on-time reporting to funders

• Work with project managers to ensure compliance with funding requirements of all future, existing and recently finished contracts and grants

• Assist the Director of Services in the coordination and completion of PQQ documentation and tender documentation in response to tender opportunities

• Identify and respond to opportunities for sponsorship support for PBHA’s activities

• Monitor performance in relation to fundraising and business development providing regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team

• Keep abreast of fundraising methods, trends and sources, communicating these internally

• Continually develop, taking responsibility for own learning and personal development.

Customer Focused Services:

• Lead your volunteer team in promoting participation and co-production opportunities so that tenants/participants have maximum influence over the development of PBHA.

• Positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.

The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users.

The post holder is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer.

Main Conditions of Service:

This post is for 22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week, Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day with days to be negotiated on appointment. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.

Salaries and expenses are based on PBHA’s salary scales and are revised each year. The salary for this post will be in the range of £38,143 - £40,095 points 22 to 25 and the starting salary is £38,143 point 22, for the full-time hours.

In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months). The notice period for this role is 4 weeks.

It is desirable that the candidate has:

• Knowledge of fundraising in the housing sector and / or knowledge of community organisations in Hackney, Islington and the surrounding areas

• Membership of the Institute of Fundraising

Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Head of Curriculum and Growth role are:

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Curriculum and quality assurance

• Overseeing the development and introduction of all new content in Tender’s curriculum, working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure secondary research, beneficiary need, subject matter expertise and beneficiary voice (in particular, youth voice) is appropriately incorporated and content is evidence-based
• Developing, reviewing, updating and implementing Tender’s quality assurance framework to ensure Tender’s curriculum remains of a consistently high quality
• Overseeing the regular review of existing curriculum to ensure content remains internally consistent across Tender, up to date and incorporates new information and best practice teaching methods
• Working in collaboration with the Research & Impact Manager, ensuring relevant primary and secondary research and learnings from Tender’s programmes are incorporated into Tender’s curriculum to maximise the impact of Tender’s programmes
• Championing excellence in the design and delivery of Tender’s curriculum across the organisation, including building strong relationships with other Heads of Departments and Programme Managers

Workshop leader oversight

• Working in collaboration with the Head of Schools & Youth Settings and Head of Adult Services, identifying gaps in workshop leader pools and overseeing the timely recruitment of a sufficient number of workshop leaders across all regions to deliver all planned projects
• Developing and implementing a consistent and robust workshop leader induction plan for all new facilitators
• Developing and implementing an ongoing training and development plan for workshop leaders to ensure consistently high quality and current standards of delivery to all beneficiary groups, and ensuring any gaps in existing skills and knowledge are addressed
• Working in collaboration with the Director of Services, Head of Schools and Youth Settings and Head of Adult Services, develop and implement processes to monitor workshop leader performance
• Overseeing the provision of wellbeing support for workshop leaders, including regular check-ins and gathering formal and informal feedback

Growth

• Researching and identifying potential geographic areas and target populations for expanding Tender’s reach and impact in a planned and targeted manner
• Working in collaboration with the Research & Impact Manager, assessing the need for, and potential impact of, Tender’s work in new geographic areas or with new target populations
• Working in collaboration with the Development team, identifying and developing new partnerships, collaborations and funding opportunities to ensure any growth can be properly resourced and sustained
• Developing and supporting the Director of Services to execute a strategic plan for expanding Tender’s work to new geographic regions and to new target populations in 2024-26

Administration

• Supporting the SLT in effective risk management by proactively and regularly identifying potential risks and recommending mitigating actions to the Director of Services
• Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seeking opportunities for ongoing professional development
• Following all Tender policies and procedures, including safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities
• Working as a member of the Tender team and carrying out other duties that may be required to meet the needs of the organisation

We are seeking a digital marketing and communications expert to join our team for 12 months to cover maternity leave. The role shapes and develops the digital strategy. It brings together all our digital functions in order to strengthen our fundraising, marketing and communications.

Leading on the development and integration of all digital channels, you will support on the rollout of an overarching email marketing and website strategy, as well as oversee the integration of paid and organic social. The post holder will understand our different supporter groups to ensure digital work maximises supporter communications and will thrive on a fast-paced, vibrant environment.

About the role 

As Changing Lives Programme Coordinator, you will be supporting people with lived experience of homelessness to apply for grants which help them fulfil their employment goals. In addition, you will encourage members to access further wraparound support and assist with ongoing evaluation. The role is varied and exciting; you’ll be at the centre of working with and uniting our Crisis members, Skylight teams, and network of enterprise contacts towards creating fair access to opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness.

Additionally, we’re committed to utilising our funding from Lloyds Bank to grow and innovate the programme. In your role you’ll have the opportunity to utilise your own expertise to bring in new ideas and transform the impact of the programme.

Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role: 

To be successful in this role you will be inspired by delivering opportunities that remove barriers to employment and entrepreneurship, particularly for communities who are traditionally excluded from these opportunities. 

You should be an experienced programme coordinator and be confident in supporting people from a broad range of communities and experiences towards their goals. You will be competent in grant or programme delivery at all stages (from application to evaluation), a strong relationship builder, and creative in developing and delivering support. Underpinning this is your drive to address the needs of people with lived experience of homelessness through embedding co-production and supporting programmes that empower participants to achieve their ambitions.

GDWG has an exciting part-time opportunity to join our team as a fundraiser. In this role you will work with the Director to manage our fundraising portfolio. We are looking for either an experienced fundraiser or someone who is at entry level who is keen to learn on the job.

GDWG is a charity committed to improving the welfare and wellbeing of people who have experienced immigration detention, through offering friendship and support and advocating for fair treatment. We primarily work with people detained at Tinsley House and Brook House Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs) at Gatwick Airport. Our volunteer visitors befriend and make weekly visits to people in detention. Our advocacy project Refugee Tales calls for a future without detention, and works with people who have experienced detention to call for change. 

We require blended working from home and from our office in Crawley. This is a one-year fixed term contract with the likelihood of extension. The role requires someone who can demonstrate a high level of written and organisational skills including meticulous record-keeping in a fast-paced work environment. Fundraising experience with trusts and foundations is preferred.

ABOUT SAFETY4SISTERS

Safety4Sisters (S4S) is a specialist Black and minoritised by and for women’s organisation based in Manchester. Our aim is to promote the human rights of migrant women experiencing a spectrum of gendered violence by providing a trauma informed, specialist, holistic and integrative programme of support to Black and minoritised survivors with NRPF. Support is underpinned by the following strands of services and activities; culturally competent advocacy, welfare and destitution support, a specialist refuge dedicated to migrant women with NRPF, therapeutic activities, groups and training, social activities, a helpline for both professionals and women, grassroots campaigning, and strategic advocacy.

JOB PURPOSE

 To provide information, advice, support and advocacy work on all  forms  of  gender  based  violence faced by migrant women,  including  forced  marriage,  rape  and  sexual  abuse,  honour  based  crimes  and  related  issues  such  as  immigration/asylum  and  no  recourse  to  public  funds,  matrimonial  and  children,  housing  and  homelessness,  mental  health  and  financial  matters.  Your  casework  will  focus  on  women  with  complex  needs. 

Please note we will also consider applicants that do not have significant experience in this sector as there will be training & development opportunity once in post.

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide  a  professional  high-­quality  VAWG  advocacy  service to women accessing outreach support and to women residing in our refuge.

2. Undertake  casework  and  advocacy  (this  will  include  liaising  with  relevant  professionals  and  agencies  such  as  solicitors,  social  workers,  police  officers  etc.) 

3. Provide  practical  support  such  as  accompanying  women  to  appointments  and  courts,  making  reports  to  such  agencies  or  collecting  belongings  and  otherwise  taking  all  necessary  steps  to  ensure  the  general  safety  and  wellbeing  of  women  and  children. 

4. Write  assessment  reports  and  support  letters,  and  under  supervision,  help  to  collect  evidence  and  statements,  as  well  as  undertake  some  basic  legal  representation.

5. Undertake risk assessments for referral to the Multi-­Agency Risk Assessment Conferences  (MARACs) 

6. Establish  links  with  key  partners  [local  authority,  police,  health,  schools,  etc.]  to  ensure  effective  referral  routes  and  information  sharing  protocols.

7. Assist in the running of the Lotus Hub, including covering the Helpline when required and providing follow on advocacy to Lotus Hub service users.

8. Assist  in  developing  and  meeting  quality  standards  in  relation  to  advice  and  casework.  This  includes  administration  and  IT  systems  for  advice  and  casework. 

9. Assist migrant women to access immigration advice, and assist in meeting their housing needs.

10. To  undertake  campaigning  and  policy  work  arising  from  the  advice  and  casework  (this  may  involve  some  weekend/evening  work)

11. Where  necessary  to  assist  staff  in  organising  and  running  support  group  activities  and  consultations  for  women  who  are  isolated  and  vulnerable  due  to  their  experiences  of  violence  and  abuse.

12. To  publicise  and  provide  S4S  services,  and  attend,  contribute  and  represent  the  organisation  at  relevant  local  meetings  or  initiatives. 

13. To  support and mentor the Women’s Council.

14. Follow  S4S policies  and  procedures,  and  maintain  IT  and  case  file  management  systems.

15. Contribute  to  S4S  record  keeping  and  provide  information  for  monitoring,  evaluation,  policy,  and  research  and  training  purposes. 

16. Ensure  women  are  referred  to  S4S  projects  and  activities  as  required  for  example,  counselling or group work.

17. Be  self-­servicing  and  to  assist  other  workers  when  required. 

18. Undertake  any  additional  duties  which  will  contribute  to  the  smooth  running  of  the  S4S services  and  projects.

The HQ finance team is based in the UK office at Southwick (near Hove) with a team of five and additional staff in key locations and several outsourced arrangement for local accounting and compliance.

Overall purpose:

To account for and report of the financial performance of GWEC as a whole, Belgium parent entities and other subsidiaries.

To support the UK, Belgium Secretariat and international teams in all financial aspects relating accounting.

Main duties and responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance Team and outsourced local finance specialists:

• Prepare regular management accounts, budget performance and cashflow forecast for group and subsidiaries

• Perform consolidation of the group

• Lead GWEC parent company accounting

• Monthly posting to and reconciliation of project fund accounts

• Prepare monthly accounting close, perform the year end close, and

• Work with the CFO in preparation of the annual financial statements

• Oversee weekly payment runs

• Administer monthly payroll (including of overseas jurisdictions) in conjunction with local payroll bureau

• Review or prepare VAT returns

• Manage international cash ensuring funds are available in the countries and accounts as required.

• Reconcile relevant Balance Sheet accounts

Essentia Person Criteria:

• Right to work in the UK, fluency in written and spoken English

• Qualified CCAB accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, or AAT (min. level 3 or equivalent) or Masters degree in Accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting

• 7 or more year’s work experience in finance and administration management

• Great IT skills- multiple Accounting Systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g. use of VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables etc)
