Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.    

Purpose of the Management Accountant role:   

As Management Accountant, the successful candidate will play an integral role in sure the accurate reporting of all financial information with systems and processes operating effectively. Responsible for the preparation of management accounts and other reports, the Management Accountant will oversee general accounting procedures and practices, combining financial, analytical and management skills to aid our managers with decision-making and promoting long-term financial success in order to meet our organisational goals.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Management Accountant: 

• Prepare timely and accurate financial management information including regular management accounts and forecasts to be provided to the Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). 

• Support the Head of Finance in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. 

• Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, members of the SLT and team managers in order to aid in their understanding of budgets and financial statements, and to support them with their day-to-day budget management and finance needs. 

• Develop and oversee financial systems and procedures, identifying opportunities to improve these. 

What we are looking for in our Management Accountant: 

• Fully qualified accountant: ACCA, CIMA, ACA (or equivalent). 

• Strong technical accounting, financial management and reporting experience. 

• Ability to analyse complex information, problem solve and communicate findings effectively. 

• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with all levels of an organisation. 

• Strong knowledge of SORP and Charity Commission protocols, GDPR and data protection regulations, and tax planning and compliance, inclusive of Gift Aid, Legacies, HMRC employee taxes, VAT and pension regulations. 

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant within a finance department. 

• High level of numeracy and accuracy. 

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. 

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal. 

• Computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel. 

• Excellent attention to detail. 

• Relevant continuing professional development (desirable). 

• Understanding of Fundraising Regulator guidelines, VAT partial exemption returns, accounting and tax issues relating to charities, and of domestic abuse and its impact (desirable). 

• Previous experience of working in a charity environment and supervising a team (desirable).

As a marketing executive at Frontline (known internally as a marketing officer) your work will directly impact the success of the charity. You will hold responsibility for creating and optimising content across a wide range of digital channels, to attract leads, increase brand awareness, encourage engagement with our work and drive recruitment to our programmes.

Working closely with the communications and marketing manager, you will help to shape our marketing strategy, and to plan and evaluate marketing campaigns, including our Approach Social Work recruitment campaign. You will need creativity, analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of marketing channels and trends.

The communications and marketing team sits within the wider external relations division. You will work closely with your communications, evaluation, Fellowship and fundraising colleagues to achieve our wider external relations strategy. And you will use your marketing knowledge and skills to support teams across the entire charity to create engaging communications that are on-brand and achieve results.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate, implement and evaluate multi-channel marketing campaigns to support programme recruitment and fundraising, using emails, social media, website, display ads and more.
• Write and edit copy for a wide range of audiences and contexts.
• Use content creation tools such as Canva and video editing software to create high quality content that supports wider objectives.
• Evaluate and optimise digital content, including Frontline’s website, to improve performance.

A leading professional membership body with chartered status & based in central London is seeking a Financial Accountant on a full-time, permanent basis.

The organisation is a prestigious and historic professional body providing an impressive array of qualifications, services and resources to its members. The organisation has around 50 staff and 19,000 members.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role will involve work across all aspects of the organisation’s financial reporting, planning and management cycles. This will include preparing income and tax-related month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations for monthly management account reporting, management of all taxation requirements, involvement in the preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, and management of the year-end statutory reporting and the audit. The role will also involve leading on the finance aspects of an upcoming CRM project at the organisation.

The role does not line manage anyone, and you will be part of a finance team of 5 staff.

The organisation is ideally seeking a fully-qualified accountant with prior experience in the charity sector. Strong experience with charity VAT including partial exemption and demonstrable experience with charity year-end accounting and audit (SORP) are strongly desirable.

‍Duties will include:

· To complete the preparation of the annual statutory accounts in line with SORP requirements

· To support the Head of Finance with other year end tasks, as necessary i.e. manage the production of the draft trustees’ report for consideration by the Board.

You'll beresponsible for overseeing your caseload of R@H placements and database management. The role of Placement Coordinator will be to work alongside the placement team in making safe placements quickly and efficiently.

You will build your knowledge of working with guests with different immigration status and needs, and get to know our hosts and what they are able to offer guests.  You'll be sharing information and resources with guests to help them find more permanent accommodation.

Role Description

The Programme Manager is a highly-efficient, well-organised, and internationally-respected member of the nuclear policy community.They are expected to be able to take primary ownership of project delivery management as well as lead the development of multiple new projects, including developing ideas leading to successful fundraising.They will have strong knowledge of several methodologies which could be used for new projects and will have a track record of winning funding, as well as some knowledge of funding relationships. 

The Programme Manager will have specialisation in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Regime and will need to have a good general knowledge of global security and conflict resolution, and a demonstrable ability to design and carry out project management and research to a high standard. They are expected to be an internationally recognised researcher with a strong area of specialisation related to nuclear weapons issues, specifically in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty regime. 

The Programme Manager will implement the Non-Proliferation Treaty Monitor (NPT Monitor), a platform that provides independent analysis and information on the effectiveness and implementation of the Treaty by the NPT-recognised nuclear-weapon States. The key objective for the Programme Manager will be to develop this project to a level where the NPT Monitor becomes a permanent and essential fixture of the NPT regime, providing significant analysis on treaty implementation for States Parties (especially smaller delegations), NGOs, and academia. 

The Programme Manager will demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision within the nuclear policy community. They will have a robust track record of policy-relevant publications. A strong network in their area of specialisation is essential, and they are expected to maintain and expand it to benefit BASIC. The Programme Manager will also be responsible for line managing team members across multiple projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

For the Senior Policy Fellow title, we expect a well-developed professional network, particularly in fundraising relationships; we expect the ability to manage large scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding £400,000/year; and we expect an independently developed vision for the growth and further development of the programme including a fundraising strategy to match this ambition. This role also demands a formal project or programme management qualification, although we are open to discussing the provision of training if this has not already been achieved.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Salary: £41,000- £48,000

About Black Thrive 

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and well-being of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm. 

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change. 

Purpose of the role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Communications Manager to take on a key role in our rapidly growing organisation. As Communications Manager, you will lead all aspects of our communications and marketing activity with key stakeholders and with the general public. You will be developing and implementing the organisational Communications Strategy which will increase our profile as an organisation, maximise our reach and impact, and raise awareness of the vison, mission and aims of Black Thrive Global. 

Working closely with the Directors, the CEO and the staff, you will create a compelling, coherent and consistent narrative that joins up all our communication channels, key messaging around core BTG work, and plan strategically for key dates linked to activities and events corelated with our aims and mission. To do this, you will work with staff across our organisation and with the communities we represent to increase our engagement with the general public and key stakeholders. Our communications will be both reactive and proactive and the post holder will provide quick responses to emerging media stories. 
 

Duties and responsibilities 

1. Oversee Black Thrive’s communication activity, co-ordinating that activity and planning for all communications channels, including website, social media and external newsletters. This role includes marketing Black Thrive to different audiences to raise the profile of the organisation in support of its strategic aims. 

2. Deal proactively with media enquiries, maintain the media database and log enquiries, monitor media coverage. 

3. Implement effective external communications strategy to develop a consistent and coherent narrative for Black Thrive; amplify and support the work of the organisation among the general public, potential strategic partners (including but not exclusive to academics, community partners and local decision-making bodies); and provide clear goals around communication and brand awareness. 

4. Evaluate and monitor communications activity – developing KPI’s in line with our Communications Strategy, and ensuring the information is used to build on success and to develop strategy and outputs.

5. Lead on the management and delivery of the communications calendar. 

6. Manage and lead the Communications Team staff. 

7. Work with the Black Thrive staff team (and with external agencies as appropriate) to develop and maintain website content and upload website content. 

8. Implement a social media strategy that is integrated with wider team projects and ensure consistent messaging is shared across all platforms. 

9. Work with the Directors and staff team to support proactive and reactive media relations and social media output. 

10. Work with the Directors, CEO, team members and freelance staff to manage and coordinate the production of Annual reports. 

11. Provide oversight of publications and materials, ensuring brand guidelines are followed. 

12. Produce engaging content for internal and external blog posts, newsletters and other forms of media to be shared across all platforms.

13. Provide in-house design for publications and promotional materials as required.

14. Produce regular e-newsletters. 

15. Oversee the work of freelancers and volunteers as required. 

16. Manage the communications budget. 

17. Act as a brand guardian and champion: Developing core messaging guidelines to include organisational style guide, tone of voice, etc. and advising others to ensure that all content and messaging is on brand. 

18. Spend up to 10% of time supporting corporate business, such as strategy and administration. 

19. Occasionally work at weekends and in the evenings when required.

Celebrity and Lifestyle Media Lead

Reporting to: Brand Marketing Manager

Location of work: Home based. One office day per month. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.

Contract type: Ideally full-time, 35 hours per week, although part time / flexible hours may be considered. The role may require occasional evening and weekend work

JOB PURPOSE 

The Brand and Marketing team’s purpose is to significantly increase awareness, engagement and reputation of Magic Breakfast’s supporting wider teams to achieve their objectives.

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Celebrity & Lifestyle Media Lead manages all aspects of the delivery Magic Breakfast’s celebrity engagement as well as working with the News & Media Lead on the charity’s media strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Be responsible for leading new artist (celebrity) acquisition for Magic Breakfast including approaching and pitching for opportunities alongside other internal teams
• Work alongside the News & Media Lead to develop and implement media strategy and activity plans 
• Lead on the writing of press materials, including but not limited to press releases, press packs, internal quotes etc
•  Implement Magic Breakfast’s Celebrity (Artists) strategy and plan, proactively identify impactful opportunities to support other teams and campaigns
