The successful candidate will lead on delivery of our voluntary sector support activity, working as part of our award-winning Barnet Together partnership with Young Barnet Foundation and Groundwork London. Managing a team of two, you will ensure we continue a strong delivery of our offer and that we increase membership and engagement, and act as Inclusion Barnet’s Operational Lead within the partnership. You’ll undertake some delivery yourself, supporting groups with funding applications and more complex governance queries. You’ll also convene Barnet’s Environmental Network, and attend some key local meetings to provide representation of the sector’s views.
To succeed, you will either have previous experience of supporting community groups in a sector support role, or solid experience of third sector management, governance and fundraising. You’ll be keen to coach and develop more junior members of your team in these skills, excited by the challenge of delivering this unique service and keen to build on the success of Barnet Together to date.
You’ll be a collaborative, coaching manager; a great relationship builder with tact and emotional intelligence, and a champion for the contribution of the sector. Role description, July 2024 Reports to: Senior Communications Manager
Direct reports: None Location: Our well-equipped office is in King’s Cross, London, WC1X 9NW. Staff are currently working in hybrid locations with a general requirement to meet colleagues once a week including a Communications team office day once a month, and an all-staff meeting in London five times a year, although we will always take into account personal circumstances.

Salary: D1L: £31,437 - £34,659 (possibly more for an exceptional candidate), plus benefits
Role Summary
Our Communications Officer plays a key role in our central Communications team, working collaboratively with colleagues to create impactful messages which are consistent, clear and well-planned. Through this work, you’ll support thousands of people across three key work programmes – Behaviour Change, Culture Shift and Information and Advice. You’ll have a particular focus in supporting the Senior Communications Manager with messaging across emails, our website and other digital channels, and play a key role in developing content with people who want to share their own experiences of alcohol and alcohol harm. You will have responsibility for wider tasks across the team, including monitoring inboxes, creating reports and supporting colleagues flexibly, particularly during busier campaign periods.
7 Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Communications and content
1. Support the Senior Communications Manager to develop year-round content strategies and planning
2. Create clear copy for a range of channels (including website, emails, social media) which influences and motivates audiences to take action and support Alcohol Change UK’s work
3. Ensure all communications are well-framed, on-message and fit with our brand guidelines
4. Lead on our monthly newsletter, developing, writing and scheduling on Mailchimp, and using reports and insights to think creatively about how to engage our audiences effectively
5. Play a coordinating role for the organisation’s wider email communications, collaborating with colleagues from other departments to ensure regular engagement emails are on message, and on brand
Website maintenance and development
1. Create clear, well-written content for our website – particularly focusing on engaging Information and Advice content
2. Make regular updates to website content, and troubleshoot issues as they arise
3. Ensure ongoing implementation of our Search Engine Optimisation and accessibility best practices
4. Support the Senior Communications Manager with annual planning and implementation of improved user journeys and experiences
5. Act as a champion for the website, developing relationships with colleagues from across the organisation to support new projects, content and campaigns across the site
Enabling people to share their experiences
1. Empathetically and respectfully work with individuals to share their stories, creating a wide range of content (blogs, quotes and case studies) to be used flexibly across Alcohol Change UK’s channels
2. Follow up leads for people who want to share their experiences publicly
3. Utilise our CRM system to manage relationships and coordinate content by themes
4. Support colleagues from all teams to include impactful personal experiences, bringing our content and campaigns to life
Team support
1. Monitor team inboxes including dryjanuary@ and contact@ ensuring great customer service and that all enquiries are dealt with in a timely fashion
2. Complete monthly team KPI reports, with a specific focus on email and website engagement data, providing analysis for optimisation throughout the year 8
3. As required, support the Behaviour Change team with Facebook Community Group monitoring, completing slots on the agreed team rota
4. Provide ad-hoc support to the Digital team with social media monitoring and responses as required
Cross-organisational Role
1. Work closely with colleagues across the Communications team and wider charity to support their work and to act as ‘one team’
2. Contribute actively and positively to charity-wide strategies
Other Duties
1. Continually develop your knowledge of alcohol harm and solutions to it
2. Act as a positive ambassador for Alcohol Change UK at all times
3. Know, embrace and actively uphold the values of Alcohol Change UK at all times
4. Work flexible hours as necessary to meet the needs of the charity – time off in lieu will be earnt for any work required outside of normal working hours
Support through campaign periods
The post holder will be expected to support the team with additional tasks through our busiest period from November-January. All members of the communications team are expected to work at times during the Christmas and New Year period, including bank holidays. A rota system is in place and Time of in Lieu is provided for additional hours worked.

A Bit about Us:
WellChild, based in the centre of Cheltenham, is the national charity for children with complex medical needs and their families. We fund programmes and services to make it possible for children and young people living with serious illness to be cared for at home instead of hospital.
The WellChild Family Tree is a growing network that exists to connect families across the UK caring for a child with complex health needs with each other and with WellChild. Through its online forum, and programme of activities and communications, it provides members with the opportunity to make friends, make memories and make a change.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised person to join us as our Family Information Officer as part of our Family Team. Working alongside the Family Programme Team and wider Programmes Team, this role will fill a critical information gap for the families that WellChild supports and will help the charity attract new and harder to reach families into the WellChild Family Tree network.
Through becoming familiar with relevant policy and guidance for families caring for children with complex medical needs, you will be able to help identify the key issues facing our families and then curate the most relevant, up to date information from a variety of expert sources to help support them whilst also taking the lead on information projects aimed at helping families to thrive at home.
Purpose of the role:
Families thrust into a world of disability and complex care find themselves having to navigate their way through a ‘new normal’ with nowhere to go for relevant information and advice. The result leaves many unaware of their entitlements or the help that might be available. This puts many families under extreme pressure, leading to financial hardship, family breakdowns and emotional strain.
Working within the Family Team and reporting to the Family Programme Manager, this role will continue to develop and expand WellChild’s information provision. This will be achieved through research and delivery of information, tools and advice for families on subjects such as, but not limited to health, legal rights and entitlements, wellbeing and local services.
There are two key parts to this role:
■Identifying key issues/challenges:-
Work with other members of the Family Team and wider Programmes Team to listen and identify common themes and challenges being raised and discussed in the WellChild Family Tree forum; WellChild Nurse network and with other key stakeholders.
■Information Development & Delivery:-
Develop an information/content plan covering a variety of family relevant subjects, focused on the key issues/ challenges & themes raised. Delivering information in a variety of mechanisms designed to engage with families and attract new, harder to reach families.
You will also be expected to provide content for the WellChild Family Tree online forum, create and deliver family workshops based on the resources you create, and develop appropriate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting methods to demonstrate the impact of the information articles and WellChild information hub. You will also be expected to support the development and moderation of a new interactive directory of services for families. Throughout your work you will embed safeguarding processes and policies to keep families safe.
You will be able to:
■Demonstrate recent experience of producing information for vulnerable people with excellent writing and editing skills
■Demonstrate experience in generating and analysing research information
■Confidently use digital and social media channels to communicate to target audiences
■Produce content in a variety of formats; maximising opportunities to engage harder to reach and more diverse families.
■Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
■Demonstrate commitment and ability for strong team working
■Effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure
■Collaborate with other teams across the organisation such as Comms & Fundraising to maximise promotion of the information hub, In Your Area and events.

About the Role
The Education Team work with more than 150 schools across Sussex to live out the Education vision in the Diocese of being “Deeply Christian, serving the common good”.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Voluntary Aided schools and academies to assist in the management of capital funded projects and the administration of the School Condition Allocation fund. You will work closely with schools to make sure that they’re meeting their legal obligations around the maintenance of school buildings.
We are looking for a part-time Project Officer to work closely with the Capital Assets Programme Manager to:
- Administer and monitor the School Condition Allocation funding programme for Voluntary Aided schools
- Manage project spend and commitments to make sure that projects and budgets are on delivered on-cost and that all financial administration is completed - from reconciling project expenditure, preparing invoices and chasing debt to ensuring invoices are correct and in line with contracts
- Provide support to develop capital projects to help make improvements to schools in conjunction with local authorities and schools

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as a Project Officer working in partnership with Southeastern, Medway Council and other partners in developing the Kent Community Railway Partnership (CRP). You will work as part of a small team, building strong relationships with communities, schools, workplaces and other local organisations.
As the Project Officer, you will help deliver the CRP action plan, which is a combination of mini-projects and core activities, offering a tailored package of support to groups and various community and school groups. You will also bring new volunteers on board and support them with their ongoing experience as part of the CRP.
As the project officer you will develop and engage communities in fun, innovative and informative activities. You will also share resources, and work with communities to reduce car use to and from train stations, increasing the opportunities for walking wheeling and cycling,
This role will require travel and work throughout Kent including the Isle of Sheppey as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of leading, motivating activities for schools and community groups, being able to communicate confidentially to diverse communities by various means.
You should have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people including local authorities and similar partners.

About the role Finance and Support Services Officer
Sightsavers are excited to be recruiting a new team member to join their Cameroon country office. The Finance Support and Services Officer provides finance management support for the Country Office under the leadership of Finance & Support Services Manager.
Knowledge, skills and experience
In collaboration with colleagues the Finance and Support Services Officer will continually ensure quality and consistency of financial management in the country office. They will support the development of solutions to financial or support related problems, support the monitoring of country resource management and identification risks or issues to the Programme Manager.
The post-holder will ensure that financial management and risk mitigation are compliant with local regulations and adhere to the organisational Financial Framework by implementing financial controls, planning and budgeting. The role will lead support services for the country office by managing logistics of procurement supplies, manage payroll and work with programme and finance teams to review programme/project reports, planning and analysis, auditing of funds provided and grant management reporting.
The preferred candidate will have a relevant professional accounting qualification and a degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting or related field. Previous experience working in an INGO environment is desirable, with experience of audit and government organisations being an advantage. A background in financial management is required, as are budget and data analysis skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustrans team as part of the Delivery Team.
As the Project Delivery Officer, you will be based from one of our Active travel hubs. You will coordinate and deliver a programme of work tailored around overcoming identified barriers to active and sustainable travel modes, including a series of practical engagement activities e.g. led rides/ walks, cycle training for adults and children, active travel awareness events, personalised travel information/advice, on street engagement events.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with diverse groups and people within our partner organisations. Additionally, you will ensure monitoring and reporting tasks are carried out, with particular respect to partner and funder requirements.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
There are two roles available, based either in Redcar and Cleveland or Darlington. This is a fixed term contract ending 31 October 2024 (with possible extension subject to funding)
About you
The ability to communicate clearly is key in this role, allowing you to effectively engage with the diverse range of people our communities consist of, helping their journey to becoming more active in the way they travel.
You should build relationships easily and be able to motivate others. A basic level of cycling knowledge and bike maintenance skill is required, however all necessary training will be provided to become a walk leader, ride leader and cycle mechanic.
To be effective in this role you should have experience of working with or as a volunteer and delivering behaviour change projects in a community or environmental setting. A background in customer service or public engagement roles would also be useful.
You will use your experience in engagement techniques and behaviour change initiatives to work with community engagement and other delivery staff to ensure that best practice procedures are followed, and learning is captured when engaging communities in our projects. The aim being to ensure the delivery of a range of initiatives that encourage and enable residents, education establishments and businesses to benefit from increased levels of activity through walking and cycling.

The International Programme Officer will report to our Global Operations Director and will work closely with personnel and partners in different countries where WW supports development programmes, to ensure the work we support is aligned with WW’s strategy, and that the delivery of our work has impact, is on track and is in line with donor agreements and budgets.
Specific responsibilities will include:
1. Programme coordination, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning
• Support organisational and programme planning, ensuring alignment with agreed delivery targets, outputs and outcomes.

Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing. We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision. About the Organisation
Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.
We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.
Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.
Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.
We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

Project Coordinator
The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.
Reports to: Chief Executive

Responsibilities
Supporting project delivery (70%)
- Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
- Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
