IPWSO is the international umbrella body for PWS associations around the world with 47 full paying country members and contacts in over 120 countries. We are committed to supporting people with PWS and their families whatever their needs and wherever they live.

We build communities between people with Prader-Willi syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them to share knowledge and expertise and improve outcomes for people with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families everywhere.

We want everyone with Prader-Willi syndrome to get equal access to diagnosis and treatment no matter where in the world they live. We want to ensure better, more consistent outcomes for people with the syndrome and their families.

We work to ensure research into the condition works for everyone and reflects the diverse experiences and environments of those living with the syndrome around the world today.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

· Act as an ambassador for IPWSO by representing IPWSO at events and networking to build new strategic relationships.

· Keep abreast of relevant new research, treatment recommendations and service developments for people with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Governance

· Strive to ensure that IPWSO has governance systems in place that enable it to consistently fulfil its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

· Maintain awareness of risks and changes in the external environment that could affect IPWSO and advise the Board of Trustees accordingly.

· Together with the President manage complaints (including from whistle-blowers) and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees

Finance and Fundraising

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to ensure the overall financial health and sustainability of IPWSO.

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to prepare budgets for review by the Board of Trustees and to enable IPWSO to operate within its financial means.

· Seek to ensure that appropriate financial reports are submitted to the Charity Commission and other entities as required.

· Support the work of the Fundraising Committee and strive to ensure a sustainable income from both IPWSO members and individual, corporate, philanthropic and government donors.

· Build relationships with potential donors and prepare funding proposals.

· Seek to provide high quality support to existing donors, by means including the preparation of regular reports and updates.

· Seek out and build new income streams.

Staff, Trustee and Volunteer and Committee Support

· Provide support to staff, trustees and volunteers to enable them to carry out their duties.

· Deputise for other staff members during periods of leave.

· Conduct annual reviews with staff.

· Participate in the recruitment of new staff as required.

· Provide support and advice to IPWSO committees and conference organisers.

Project Support

· Seek to ensure that all IPWSO projects are designed and implemented in accordance with IPWSO’s mission and objectives.

· Support IPWSO’s Project Managers and others who lead IPWSO projects and, if necessary, manage projects directly.

Proficiency in English.

Schools’ Project Officer Coordinator (4-5 days per week)

We are a small, lively and expanding charity promoting the personal development of young people in partner schools, through challenging activities that they design, plan and finally undertake adult free. We invite students (usually in groups) to develop their own challenges, something they want to do but which is well outside their ‘comfort zones’ and to be responsible for every stage of them: we provide planning support, risk management, and expenses funding. Our award winners have climbed the highest UK peaks, cycled to Paris, performed plays at school, harnessed green power via a bike, among many other imaginative and ambitious projects.   

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate to coordinate our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s. We are at an exciting stage of growth, now in 20% of London schools, so there is great scope to shape our strategic direction, including cultivating our alumni network of previous award winners.  We are looking for competent leader, ideally with experience of risk and physical challenge, and strong administrative skills, who is comfortable working with schools. He/she will be keen to work with a growing charity, and to support young people usually with a poverty of experience and opportunity.

The post is up to 4-5 days per week, based in Southwark, with frequent travel to schools across London. The salary is £30,000 – £35,000 pa pro rata depending on experience. Flexible working considered.

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

About the role

An exciting role to deliver a tailored package of support that will help Reigate and Banstead Council to increase levels of active travel in the area. You will engage with schools, workplaces, and communities to support and enable more people to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot for local everyday journeys, instead of taking the car. 

As the Project Officer, you will plan and deliver fun, innovative and engaging activities such as mapping safe routes, leading rides and walks, practical skills sessions, competitions, initiatives and information events. The range of activities, events and resources will be adapted to meet the needs of the different audiences and will be designed to be inclusive so as many people as possible can benefit from the project and more local journeys can be travelled actively. 

This role will require you to work with a range of people across local and diverse communities, workplaces and schools in Reigate and Banstead. Creating relationships with key people and employers, understanding the barriers, challenges and opportunities to actively travel. You will be working closely with others to develop a programme of activities.

You will have the opportunity to give people confidence, enthusiasm and skills to travel more actively, through events and community activities. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as school or community travel champions, local authority colleagues and other Sustrans delivery officers. 

Within the role, there will be an expectation to capture the impact of the project through completing reporting and monitoring, writing case studies, capturing quotes and photos and contributing to an end of project report. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of working with children and young people within a community setting and delivering physical activities to groups. Your knowledge of the local area will help you form relationships with a wide range of organisations, groups, and individuals.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of this job is to provide energy efficiency advice and casework-level support to individuals and families living in low-income households and facing fuel poverty. The primary goals of the project are:

1. Raise Awareness & Energy Savings - Educate vulnerable local communities, who may lack prior knowledge, about strategies for reducing energy costs and achieving long-term energy and financial savings. The aim is to empower individuals with practical energy-saving techniques and encourage grassroots peer learning within these communities to help spread survival strategies.

2. Energy Advice & Fuel Debt Support - Offer detailed guidance on energy management, including addressing fuel debt issues, to help clients understand their fuel usage in the context of their overall financial situation. This includes enabling individuals to make informed decisions about energy consumption and related financial matters.

3. Assist Vulnerable Communities in Energy Crisis - Equip particularly vulnerable households with the skills necessary to cope with the growing crisis in household energy debt, as consumption rises sharply. This involves preparing communities to manage their energy usage and finances more effectively in the face of increasing energy costs.

4. Income Maximisation & Benefits Awareness - Help raise awareness about entitlements and assist clients in claiming relevant benefits to maximise family income, ultimately helping them manage energy expenses more sustainably.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Holistic Client Assessment and Support - conduct detailed confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support.
2. Compliance and Quality Standards - Provide energy efficiency advice and casework support that adheres to the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
3. Comply with AQS case management and case recording procedures and processes, contributing to the delivery of high-quality advice and casework, and the collection and reporting of statistical data as required to enable accurate evaluation of the impact of the service and reporting to funders.
4. To be responsible for delivering high-quality one-to-one advice and casework on energy efficiency - targeting our food hub participants and other local residents who are on low income. 
5. To raise awareness and assist people without any previous awareness/knowledge of how to save on energy costs and develop long-term energy and monetary savings within their homes.
6. To facilitate and deliver monthly Switching Off Poverty workshops/talks/group sessions about fuel poverty; how to identify at-risk local residents; what tools/assistance is available; and how to impart help and guidance following the end of the programme - these workshops aim to enable participants to access tools and develop the new skills required to help them monitor, track, record, and understand their household fuel use and bills.
7. Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels; Face-To-Face, Telephone, Teams/Zoom, WhatsApp as well as via email/letter.
8. To ensure that the service offered is tailored to the needs of clients and takes into account the particular needs of each individual, including issues around communication, understanding, and vulnerability.
9. Through clear communication and consultation, ensure that clients remain involved in resolving their energy debt, benefit, and money management issues and are kept informed on the progress of their case throughout our work with them.
10. To provide advice and support around energy efficiency and money management; income maximisation; budgeting; saving; debt and understanding and accessing appropriate financial products.
11. To effectively use the database system (Lamplight) to organise and manage client support and to take on issues (as cases) for the client that may have issues with billing and metering problems. Take up complaints and provide grant-assisted schemes. All work is to follow the file LHP’s management procedure. 
12. To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed annual project plan, meeting targets and milestones for the Energy Efficiency advice service.
13. To liaise with other agencies and develop and sustain good working relationships with those agencies.
14. To be responsible for maintaining project files with evidence of project outputs and milestones.
15. Supported by the Advice Services Manager and members of the team, you will collectively develop relationships with other organisations by attending various borough-wide forums and raising awareness.  
16. To be responsible for preparing the quarterly project monitoring report to send out to the funder and ensuring progress against milestones and achievement of agreed targets are being met.
17. To contribute to the monitoring of the project and provide quarterly and annual monitoring data and evaluative reporting to the Services Manager for dissemination to the Funders.
18. To establish and maintain warm relations of trust and cooperation with clients in keeping with the Limehouse Project ethos.
19. To remain alert to issues relating to capacity, client understanding, and safeguarding issues when working with clients and promptly consult with the Advice Services Manager regarding any areas of concern.
20. To respond to clients’ file reviews, take action and follow the key date task diary on the LHP database system.
21. To strictly adhere to all LHP policies, in particular those on confidentiality, equal opportunity, case recording, file management policy, etc. Strictly follow the AQS Quality System e.g. clients’ filing system, monitoring system, referral system, etc, and keep them up to date.
22. Community Engagements and Partnerships – Liaising with other agencies, such as local authorities, health services, and community organisations, on behalf of clients.
23. To liaise with other agencies and develop strong working relationships to support clients effectively, including partnerships with GP surgeries.
24. Deliver advice sessions at the LHP office, GP surgeries, and other outreach venues, raising awareness of available support services.
25. Participate in borough-wide forums and activities to develop relationships with other organisations and enhance community awareness.
26. To observe all rules relating to Health and Safety.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

2. Carry out day-to-day general administrative duties that are vital to the smooth running of the services and specific project-related work such as responding to letters, doing follow-up work, etc., and its online appointment sheets for LHP and external partners.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As a Social Welfare & Digital Support Adviser, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive advice, casework support, and digital support to the residents of Tower Hamlets. As a dedicated and empathetic Social Welfare Advice & Digital Support Adviser, your role will be essential in empowering individuals with complex and multiple needs, helping them navigate the intricacies of the welfare benefits system and access the financial support they deserve. Additionally, you will provide vital digital support to enable clients to manage their welfare claims online, enhancing their digital confidence and independence. Through a holistic approach that incorporates social, cultural, financial, and digital issues, you will address the diverse needs of our clients, ensuring they receive well-rounded support and are equipped to navigate the online systems essential to managing their welfare benefits.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Holistic Client Assessment and Support - Conduct detailed, confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support, including digital needs.
• Comprehensive Needs Assessment - Assess various aspects such as financial situation, social welfare entitlements, debt, digital literacy, and other significant issues affecting clients and their families.
• Digital Support - Provide guidance to clients in accessing and managing welfare benefit claims online. This includes assisting clients with online Universal Credit applications, managing online accounts, and building their digital skills for greater self-sufficiency.
• Advice and Casework - Provide high-quality advice and casework support on all social welfare benefits such as Universal Credit (UC), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance (AA), Council Tax Reduction (CTR), Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP), Carer's Allowance (CA), Housing Benefits (HB), legacy benefits and travel-related services such as blue badge/freedom passes, unemployment benefits, and other welfare benefits. This includes offering digital assistance where needed.
• Application Assistance - Assist clients in completing application forms, mandatory reconsideration, appeals, and other paperwork related to social welfare benefits, money and debt, funding, and grants, both in person and online.
• Tailored Client Support - Ensure that services are adapted to the needs of each client, considering communication, digital abilities, understanding, and vulnerabilities, while supporting their navigation through online platforms.
• Financial Advice & Support - Provide advice on income maximisation, debt management, budgeting, savings, and accessing financial support, empowering clients to achieve financial independence, including offering digital tools to help manage finances.
• Client Involvement - Through clear communication and consultation, ensure clients are involved in resolving their social welfare issues, including welfare benefits, debt, and money management, and are kept informed on the progress of their case, particularly regarding digital aspects.
• Digital Training and Confidence Building - Assist clients in developing digital skills to independently manage online claim forms, journals, and accounts, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate online welfare systems.

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.

In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. Position

This role is part of a small team that forms the secretariat for two vibrant, dynamic networks of mission-driven asset owners: the Charities Responsible Investment Network (CRIN) and the Responsible Investment Network – Universities (RINU). We support members to align their investments with their social and environmental missions and values through a tailored programme of networking, advocacy and educational activities. The networks are unique spaces, enabling members to collaborate, share best practice and be leaders at the cutting edge of thinking around what it means to be a responsible investor.

You will make a significant contribution to our team by supporting the design and delivery of our annual workplan for CRIN and RINU and engaging members to participate in network activities. You will be key to ensuring the smooth running of the secretariat, including monitoring and evaluation to ensure that our work is as impactful as possible.

The secretariat sits in ShareAction’s Investor Engagement team, which engages with a range of actors to develop and drive up standards of responsible investment. You will work closely with the Senior Engagement Manager (Asset Owner Networks), who manages the work of the networks, and with the Senior Research Manager (Investors), who supports members to leverage research and analysis, and engage with their financial service providers, such as asset managers and consultants.

In this fast-paced role, on a day-to-day basis, you might be:

• Designing new projects (such as an educational workshop or advocacy initiative) for our annual workplan of activities.
• Responding to enquiries from and holding meetings with members or prospective members (foundations, trusts, operational charities, universities and colleges).
• Organising quarterly member meetings, as well as other workshops on topics such as participatory decision-making in investment, artificial intelligence and responsible investment, or divestment and the arms trade (scheduling, agenda drafting, note taking, facilitating discussions and coordinating follow-up actions).
• Writing case studies or articles to showcase the cutting-edge work of members.
• Conducting small research tasks and drafting discussion papers to inform members of responsible investment approaches and best practice.
