OPPORTUNITY
This is a unique opportunity for an astute, super-efficient, fast learner to join the first international climate campaign organisation focused on the steel sector, one of the largest and least-challenged drivers of climate change. We are seeking a dynamic executive assistant who can effectively support the leadership team management in a fast-moving and developing organisation.

SteelWatch is a new international civil society organisation established in June 2023, driving corporate accountability in the steel sector and urgent climate action. Our vision is a steel sector that underpins a thriving zero-emissions economy. Our priority is for the steel industry to get on track for a 1.5 degree warming trajectory this side of 2030.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa and Europe. The Executive Assistant will be a vital team member, providing critical, executive administrative support to enable the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team to operate effectively. The duties associated with the role will evolve significantly as SteelWatch evolves. The Executive Assistant reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
The role is focused on supporting the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team on a number of tasks, not limited to:

Manage diaries, schedule appointments, set up meetings, adapting to priorities.

Organise and book travel arrangements according to diary needs and internal policies.

Arrange and prepare for meetings with external partners, allies, donors and industry meetings, handling logistics (timing, location, travel, virtual arrangements)

This role will also support several core governance and operational activities, not limited to:

Support the Supervisory Board and Management Board in effective decision-making by ensuring clear agendas, logistical support in organising these meetings, plus minute taking, sign-off and circulation.

Assist with key organisational processes and tasks, collaborating closely with the Operations Lead and team members on new staff recruitment, contracting and onboarding processes.

Support research and delivery against organisational goals, monitor Director expenditure, manage system and IT tool access for staff and consultants, and maintain filing and other administrative systems.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, creative and tactful approach to making logistics and relationships run smoothly in a busy, evolving, international organisation. They will maintain the highest professional standards and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. In addition to a great eye for detail and persistence, the ideal candidate will have the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive action forward in a fluid context and will enjoy doing so. Additionally, they will have enthusiasm for a start-up culture, demonstrating a willingness to lean into each other’s roles and support team members as needed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: The position is remote, and the location should be in a time zone within two hours of Central European Time. The UK location is a benefit. You must have the right to work in your location, and you will be employed in that country. SteelWatch is unable to support any visa application process.
Work environment: The work is mainly remote, although some face-to-face meetings are essential, within Europe. Working hours are flexible. Team members are currently located in Japan, the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, and the team will continue to grow internationally. There will be some early mornings or evenings to accommodate interactions across time zones, with the flexibility to adjust your weekly schedule accordingly. Travel will be required to collaborate with allies and meet the team in person.
Terms and salary: The role is expected to be long-term and managed via an Employer of Record. The initial contract will be for 12 months, if feasible, within local employment regulations. While we envision this as a full-time role, we are open to other options (minimum 60% unless a job share). Please specify your preference in your application, and if part-time, state the number of days per week.
The UK salary for this position is in the range of £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience. Comparable salaries in other countries are based on market rates.

About the role
SolarAid have a small but very loyal base of individual supporters providing £1 million a year in donations, from sums of a few pounds to major gifts and, increasingly, legacies. Attracting donations from individuals that we wish to grow. This role will be important to help enable that.
The main purpose of the role is the management of the website and digital campaigns that support fundraising activities both online and offline
The total fundraised income is around £2.5 million, including corporates, and grants from foundations who also will check out our website.
Responsibilities:
- Management of the website and digital campaigns that support our fundraising activities both online and offline.
Projects within the first 12 months would include:
- Review the existing website and lead on a project to transition to a new platform, including seeking a provider and implementation
- Review and improve the online giving experience
- Potentially recruit a digital content role to provide relevant content to engage our audiences
Website and back-end
- Main responsibility for the technical back-end functionality of the SolarAid website, working closely together with the Digital Communications Manager who leads on content and front-end.
- Managing the relationship with SolarAid's web-agency, scoping, and leading development projects.

About You

- Proven Website management experience, excellent knowledge of working in CMS systems and leading on more complex back-end and development projects.
- Proficient in effectively using data analysis tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager) and user experience optimisation tools (HotJar), to inform future website project to optimise traffic and experience

About this role
Following the significant development of EduSpots’ income and activities in the last year, we are looking for an experienced finance and operations professional to provide exceptional support to the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Development, and Head of Operations (Ghana-based) to ensure the development of robust financial and operational systems, policies and processes.
The candidate can work from any location, but will have a strong knowledge of UK law and charity accounting in an international development charity context. You will be a self-starter, able to work independently on tasks assigned, whilst proactively suggesting improvements to our systems, policies and wider strategic development.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Work with the UK Finance Officer (volunteer) and Ghana based Finance Manager and Head of Operations to oversee global finances, so that consolidated management accounts and donor financial reports can be produced.
- Support with the roll-out of new accounting software and reviewing intercompany financial processes to ensure accountability and compliance with recognised accounting standards.
- Support with bank account management and reviewing funds transfers.
- In future, possibly manage staff payroll, including tax and pension contributions.
- Oversee the onboarding and screening of new staff, contractors or volunteers in the UK and other locations outside Ghana, including reference checks, criminal records checks, preparing contracts, etc.
- Review and keep organisational policies and procedures (including staff handbook) up to date, staying abreast of any changes in the wider external legal and operating environment.
- Monitor compliance to organizational policies and escalate compliance and operational risks to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Lead the delivery of the strategy, track progress and report risks and opportunities to senior leadership team.

- Video Content Creation. Conduct interviews with beneficiaries on camera to capture their stories. Edit video footage optimising for use in large-scale event films and for social media content. Develop engaging video content to promote the charity's mission and activities.
- Copywriting & Copy Editing. Write and edit inspiring and engaging content for various digital platforms including website, e-newsletters, and social media. Develop compelling stories and case studies to highlight the charity's impact. Write press releases where appropriate and quarterly ‘Supporter Updates’ for major donors.
- Website Management. Oversee the development of a new website. Update and maintain the charity's website content in line with best SEO practice. Ensure integrations are working correctly i.e. website is correctly integrated with Zapier and is pulling through subscribers to Mailchimp.
- Internal Communications. Develop engaging staff communications and opportunities to share successes and drive motivation amongst staff. Seek new opportunities to share information team-wide.

The Role
There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. This huge opportunity is just one way that charity and its advocacy work can change the world for donkeys and mules, giving them the protection they need and the health and welfare they deserve.
As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.

The post holder will lead on the Foundation’s research communications activities, working closely with the Comms and Digital Lead to execute a research communications strategy. This will ensure that our supporters are kept informed on the latest research developments and enable us to demonstrate the impact of our research.
The post-holder will also support the delivery of our annual grant schemes, as well as helping to manage our portfolio of funded projects. This will involve close working with our Research Programme Managers and include administering, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance of awards, ensuring the outputs are of the highest quality and supporting the charities activities.
The post-holder will have an important role to play in our busy and small-knit research team. They will be exposed to all aspects of grant management and use their communication skills to effectively share more information about the research we fund with our key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Research Communications

Work closely with the Communications and Digital Manager to oversee our research communications strategy and programme of activity;

Lead on the development of all external research communications activities to communicate the impact of our research and ensure our supporters are kept up to date with the latest developments. This includes developing news stories, blogs, newsletter content, infographics, research webinar series and our annual research impact report;

Liaise with our funded researchers to secure pictures and other content (e.g. video) for use on socials including making site visits to labs across the UK;

Liaise with our communications team and PR agency to take advantage of any press opportunities that arise for our research communications, supporting the development of position statements and press releases.
Research Funding Administration

Support the Research Programme Managers by ensuring our research grant rounds are effectively administered in line with Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) policy, including coordinating comprehensive internal and external peer review, supporting research review committees, drafting feedback for applicants, managing the contracting and financial monitoring of awards;

Assist the Research Programme Managers in managing the research programme budget including planning, monitoring and forecasting;

Support the ongoing development and implementation of our online grant management system, Flexi-Grant;

Track and assess progress of funded awards, building and managing relationships with award holders and maintaining regular communication through the project life cycle;

Purpose of the role
As a member of the Business Support Team, the post holder will work closely with our leads and their teams to understand and support organisational and programme requirements across our diverse and exciting areas of interest.

Key Activities
- Liaise and work with leads with confidence, replying to external and internal queries where possible and escalating others as needed. Keep in regular contract with team members ensuring that they, alongside external stakeholders, understand the support the post holder can provide.
- Gather the necessary information to complete key contractual paperwork throughout the project lifecycle, including contract set up and the prompt receipt and processing of client contracts. Work with the Finance Manager and relevant lead to ensure that invoicing schedules and billing particulars are up to date, that client specific activity reporting is completed accurately, and NDTi’s schedule for delivery is maintained.
- Maintain a schedule of project outputs and work to ensure reports, events and other deliverables are planned and delivered on time, liaising with colleagues across other work areas where needed.
- Plan, organise and effectively project manage regular events of both online and residential including at scale.
- Use existing and emerging technologies and established practices to set up and plan events, ensuring prompt co-ordination and confirmation of arrangements with venues, participants and presenters.
- Lead the process for delegate and stakeholder sign up, liaising with leads to ensure good representation and attendance levels are achieved. Work with the lead to ensure any specific requirements, for example, allocation of places and accessibility needs are managed and met.
- With the project coordinator, work to deliver the event on time and within budget. Keep leads updated, alerting them to potential overspend or other issues, such as take up/attendance levels that could impact the success of the event, as they arise.
- Actively update website and other source information about our team, our work, our events and our resources, ensuing they are up-to-date, and are in keeping with in house and project specific branding guidelines.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager and wider team to connect with partners, stakeholders and groups with an interest in NDTi’s work via online platforms.
- Organise and lead on the booking process and internal organisation of CLS Network workshops and other Network-wide meetings.
- To manage all CLS invoicing ensuring data from contracts is transferred to an invoice and ensuring invoices are logged within the database.
- Collect data in relation to attendance across the CLS sites at Network wide events and workshops and provide regular reports to Network members and CLS team members as required.
- Attend large gatherings in person, lead the setting up and liaison with the venue and provide the welcome and any support to participants to ensure they get the most out of the experience.

Are you an outstanding Programme Compliance/Funding Specialist?
We are proud to be partnering with an environmental focused grant giving and programmes focused charity to find an Interim Programme Funding Manager. The duration of this role is expected to be for 3-6 months with scope to become permanent. Fully remote and UK based.
The Programme Funding Manager will provide cross-team support to strengthen the organisation’s funding and budget management functions and ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s grantmaking and other programmatic activities. This will include collaborating with multiple teams internationally, including the Programmes, Grants Management, Finance and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to design and implement systems, processes and improvements to ensure high quality budget management and high standards of donor and regulatory compliance across all funded activity.
The role will also be responsible for the budget management of all programmatic activities, working with Programmes colleagues, Advisory Board representatives, donor relationship managers, Finance staff and others to ensure funds are spent appropriately in line with project plans and donor obligations.
You will design and implement systematic and operational improvements to ensure high standards of donor compliance and budget and funding management across the organisation, in partnership with the global Operations, Grants Management, Programmes, Finance and Philanthropic Partnerships / Development teams.
You will ensure that funded activities are managed responsibly in order to align with donor requirements; maintain a good understanding of donor budgets and contractual obligations and coordinate with Philanthropic Partnerships colleagues to ensure compliance. You will also provide timely, accurate information on funded activities to support the completion of high-quality donor proposals and reports as required.
This role will also require programme support and you will project manage specific donor-funded activities where the charity holds responsibility for implementation, especially in relation to outsourced consultancy work where the supplier contract is held. About the Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager role:
The Trusts and Statutory fundraising team meet donations targets by looking for suitable opportunities to apply to trusts, statutory and lottery funders to enable delivery of charitable impact. What you'll bring as our Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager:
Knowledge of the funding sector and the work of the charity, making a credible ambassador for the charity. Understands and implements good funder stewardship practice. Understands the requirements of the fundraising regulator, particularly as it applies to trusts and statutory funding.
