We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for an Early Intervention Project Worker to join Shine.

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

Retail People Manager

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday (5 days) acting as an emergency contact on a rota basis one weekend in four. 

The Lighthouse retail portfolio prides itself on innovation and creativity ,offering the sale of preloved goods in an array of shops within local communities.  Lighthouse retail has 34 stores across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire run by paid staff and volunteers.  Our retail vison revolves around ‘The People’ within the organisation with a view to invest and develop to reach our fullest potential. 

The People Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staffing across each one of our stores, ensuring that shops are fully staffed day to day. They will need a practical and engaging approach to enable staff to thrive in their roles and feel supported to meet the charity’s vision and mission. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: 

People Management

• Be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations relating to the people side of retail.

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Work closely with HR developing and implementing strategies to improve recruitment, attracting suitable staff, and retaining them.
• Ensure suitable and sufficient coverage of volunteer support in the retail portfolio.   
• Lead on the recruitment of new staff members, being able to assist shop managers in developing better teams and building strong foundations in line with the people strategy and recruitment and selection policy.

About New Beginnings Foundation

The New Beginnings Foundation is a charity that supports families whose children are in the child protection system in the Greater Manchester area. We are not a statutory service and we are more than a parenting programme. We provide a wrap around service that enables parents to understand how past traumatic events have affected their identity, their coping strategies and their parenting skills. 

We recognise that becoming a parent is one of life's most complex challenges. Job Description 

The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and technical support of the Finance function and acts as advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and assists in the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, modelling new projects, preparing budgets and reporting on financial performance. 

You will also be responsible for maintaining accounts on Xero and all related bookkeeping tasks.

• Provide robust financial information including accurate balance sheets and a rolling cash flow forecast; 

• Act as key point of contact for project budget holders on financial matters;

• Carry out regular reviews of spending under various grants, alerting budget holders and CEO to any actual or potential over or underspend;

Person Specification

The post requires the holder to:

• Have an appropriate accounting qualification – in full or part (AAT, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA);

• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience, including experience of operating within a not-for-profit organisation (managing accounts for restricted and unrestricted funds);

• Be proficient in Xero Online accounting software and Excel spreadsheets, including experience in using Power Query;

• Be comfortable with the financial systems typical of a small organisation, including financial monitoring and reporting to a range of different funding sources;

• Have some experience of projects finances and understand the financial implications behind an efficient delivery strategy;

• Be honest and reliable;

• Ability to work on own initiative when appropriate and seek guidance when necessary;

Role purpose and dimensions:

• Independently manage a portfolio of prospects and funders, as well as high level volunteers, with the capacity and propensity to give significant funds in support of HPF’s work. This will involve managing and meeting all application deadlines.
• Identify, research, qualify and manage a pipeline of funding prospects.
• Develop a range of funding proposals, pitches and appeals, to successfully solicit funds.
• Design and implement a donor cultivation and stewardship programme, including a combination of events, proposals, reporting, communications and visits.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

The context for this role:

As Management Accountant, the successful candidate will play an integral role in sure the accurate reporting of all financial information with systems and processes operating effectively. Responsible for the preparation of management accounts and other reports, the Management Accountant will oversee general accounting procedures and practices, combining financial, analytical and management skills to aid our managers with decision-making and promoting long-term financial success in order to meet our organisational goals.

What we are looking for in our Management Accountant:

• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with all levels of an organisation.
