We are seeking an experienced Volunteering Support Officer who, ideally, has previous administration experience and an understanding of working with volunteers and who is able to provide support to volunteering admin across the team. In this role, you will work 37.5 hours per week.
Main Duties
You will be responsible for the day-to-day admin in the team, including applying for volunteers’ references and DBS checks and uploading adverts onto recruitment sites. You will also have an opportunity to assist in volunteer information sessions and training and provide other admin support as needed. To be successful, you will have proven administration, organisation and communication skills, experience of communicating with a diverse range of people, and the ability to work independently. You may also have experience of supporting group workshops and delivering presentations.

The Director of Programmes, Policy and Advocacy is a senior leadership and strategic role within CIUK.A key member of CIUK Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with overall responsibility for the programmes, policy, and advocacy.The role is responsible for providing leadership to the directorate, contributing to the development and implementation of organisational Strategy, raising income from FCDO and other institutional donors, contract delivery and compliance, and safeguarding focal point on the leadership team. Project Background:
The Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana programme commenced in May 2024 and is a 2-year project funded by the European Union. The programme aims to strengthen the capacity for organisations of people with disabilities (OPDs), and organisations of women with disabilities in the areas of management, communication, fundraising, coordination, advocacy, gender, climate change, networking and financial accountability. Sightsavers will build the capacity of two OPDs, namely Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organisation (WODAO), and the ABAK Foundation. WODAO and the ABAK Foundation will then cascade the capacity building areas downstream to members and partners to strengthen their ability to claim their rights and hold duty bearers to account.
Overall objective
Sightsavers is commissioning a consultant to a conduct a climate change situational analysis with a disability lens in the 33 project districts in the Bono, Bono East, Ashanti, Oti and Volta regions.
The assessment will:
- Assess awareness
- Climate change impact

- Climate change response and adaptations
- Climate change policy environment
- Opportunities for adaptation
Duration of Project
The consultancy is expected to take up to 45 days, ideally to start as soon as possible.
Outputs and Deliverables
- An initial proposal outlining how the consultancy will be conducted, including proposed desk review sources, data collection tools, methodologies and the timelines for delivering the consultancy.
- A final report covering the project purposes outlining above and recommendations for Sightsavers, including guidelines for mainstreaming climate change into the programme and for downstream partners.
Budget and payment schedule

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans Cymru. We are looking for an Engineer, to support in the delivery of our innovative programme of people-focused street and route design.
As a transport charity, the focus of the work will be the integration of Placemaking as an integral part of Active Travel infrastructure projects. The principle objective of these projects will be to encourage higher levels of walking and cycling and the creation of equitable and accessible environments for all.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary design and engineering team, working closely with partners including the Welsh Government, Transport for Wales, Welsh Local Authorities and diverse communities across Wales.

About you

About the team
In Merseyside we have been providing housing advice and support services for over 20 years. We have a Community Hub in Anfield where clients can drop in for advice and our team also works across Merseyside in community settings, providing housing advice and advocacy, legal representation as well as practical DIY for people who have previously been homeless. We also work to bring about systemic change by raising awareness of housing rights and supporting local people to campaign on housing issues.
About the role
Your role will be essential to the day-to-day management of the Hub and in particular, the delivery of front-line services, contracts and projects. A lot of your time will be spent leading and supporting the staff and volunteer team so that they can deliver specialist advocacy, empowerment, advice and systems change. Supporting the Hub’s strategic lead and management team to deliver our strategy locally will be important too, as will planning and supervising casework, monitoring the effectiveness of our services and helping to promote them. You will do all you can to ensure we provide an excellent quality service that meets the needs of those who need our help so that everyone has access to a safe and affordable home.

About you
You will need strong experience of leading and managing a team who are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. You have worked with people facing exclusion and disadvantage and formed positive relationships with external stakeholders including local councils, housing associations and other support and advice agencies. A good understanding of housing law is essential. Useful but not essential are experience of debt advice, support services and delivery of advice in community settings as well as an understanding of Liverpool’s Property Pool Plus system.

Background:
First Step Trust (FST) is a charity that provides work experience, training and employment opportunities for people excluded from working life because of mental health problems or other disadvantages (workforce members).
Our approach is about giving workforce members the chance to overcome some of the difficulties facing them by getting them involved as colleagues. We provide ‘on the job’ training, advice and support to enable each person to improve their basic skills and knowledge of the various work undertaken. This will include supporting workforce members to gain recognised qualifications and access to work placements with our customers and other organisations.
We are in the process of developing a more formalised training and employment support programme (SMaRT Pathways) particularly, but not exclusively, in the area of the Automotive trade. SMaRT Pathways will include the delivery of vocational training through the use of various technologies including video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and other mediums making the learning process more accessible to those who struggle with traditional learning methods due to issues around literacy, numeracy and low levels of self-confidence/anxiety.
Job Role:
The main objective of this post is to enable people with mental health difficulties and other disadvantages (workforce members) to engage with and access open employment. The EDTW will achieve this by taking responsibility for proactively recruiting people to the project, overseeing their development whilst at the project, including delivery of training courses as and when required and supporting them to move on to employment or further training.
Main duties:
Networking with other services in the area to raise awareness about FST, promoting work placements and training courses as well as promoting the business services.
Recruitment and development of potential workforce members - being proactive in following up on enquires regarding work placements, interviewing potential workforce for work placements at the project.
Employment support – assist workforce looking to move on to paid employment by providing support in job search, CVs and interview preparation. To develop a network of appropriate work placements by building contacts with local employment agencies and employers to ensure access to work for all workforce preparing to move on from FST.
Training – assisting when required, in delivering a variety of courses both in house and recognised qualifications to people with common mental health problems both workforce members and visiting trainees utilising the various technologies as they are developed.
Monitoring and reporting - complete, manage and provide regular, accurate, appropriate and timely reports to agreed deadlines in order to monitor progress.
Office duties – working with workforce members as colleagues ensuring that daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
To work in accordance within the limits and parameters as set out in FST’s policies and procedures, by the Board, Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other senior managers.
Perform other tasks as reasonably required according to the needs of the project and FST.

We require a HR Officer to lead in transactional HR processes to ensure compliance and smooth operation of activities such as recruitment and selection, supporting people processes, advising on our policies, recording and updating people records, liaising and coordinating meetings, reporting on performance and liaising with HR advisory services.
The postholder will carry out all essential administration for the HR & Business Support Manager in line with relevant regulations, standards and legislation and manage the process for HR functions such as safe recruitment, contracts of employment, probations, family leave, disciplinary and grievance issues, training and professional development.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, self-motivated, committed and reliable. You must be able to build effective working relationships with managers and staff, support absence management processes and assist with the preparation of payroll related checks.
We require the post holder to have the ability to work independently with strong time management, organisational and planning skills. Proficient IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and experience of working with databases and online systems is essential.
Two years' experience of HR or relevant function is essential and an appropriate professional qualification (or working towards this) such as CIPD level 3 is desirable. However, we will discuss experience and qualifications on a person-by-person basis if you are selected for an interview.

Young Responders is an exciting new St John Ambulance project which has been made possible by funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded through Postcode Innovation Trust. The project aims to engage and empower young people from diverse communities who face the greatest health inequities to become active health citizens, through peer-to-peer learning and practical physical and mental health first aid sessions relevant to the challenges they face. Aimed at young people aged 14 to 25 (or 11 to 25 for broad access), who would not typically come through our doors. Young Responders will use existing St John young people and volunteers to deliver first aid training to young people from under-served communities. To deliver this ambition, young people and volunteers will become Community Champions who will deliver sessions that are local to young people and reflective of their needs and those of the community in which they live. The Facilitator will be responsible for directly leading and delivering first aid training sessions with community organisations and educational settings. This role will also offer pastoral support to those delivering sessions to support their welfare and wellbeing.
