Seeking an experienced and dedicated senior youth worker who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people within Solihull.
You will be JNC qualified (level 3 or above) and have a number of years of experience in this sector.
You will be responsible for designing and delivering accessible and diverse programs and services to engage and support young people (11-17). Your role will be fast-paced and varied as you will support Open Access youth sessions, lead structured groups, provide one-to-one mentoring and support with community engagement through a variety of initiatives.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE
This role sits within the global communications team – part of the External Engagement directorate – at Girls Not Brides and will report to the Communications Manager. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the organisation to reach strategic audiences, shaping conversations around ending child marriage, and positioning Girls Not Brides and our members as thought leaders. This role will shape our engagement with media as key strategic influencers and partners to advance the ending child marriage agenda, with a focus on global and cross-regional outlets.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to identify opportunities to engage media in order to influence powerholders and to shape the global and cross-regional narrative around child marriage. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely response to breaking news, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and processes.

£32,600 rising on an annual incremental basis. Girls Not Brides also offers a generous 10% pension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Media engagement and storytelling (60%)
● Develop and implement media plans aligned to communications, external engagement, and secretariat strategy.
● Manage Girls Not Brides’ press office function and media inbox, managing and coordinating day-to-day media enquiries and responding to requests in coordination with internal teams.
● Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media contacts for global and regional media outlets.
● Work with internal colleagues, including in regional teams, to proactively identify opportunities for media engagement linked to key events, moments, and learning outputs.

● Champion ethical communication principles and processes internally and with external media contacts, ensuring best practices are followed for informed consent and ethical content gathering and storytelling, acting as the champion for ethical communications

● Support copywriting for blog, website and other channels as needed.

About the Role
We are looking for a Policy and Research Officer who is passionate about mental health service provision in the UK, to join a vibrant and thriving team, working to build the psychotherapeutic evidence base in support of the public interest and the charitable objectives. This is a particularly exciting time to join as we have just launched our three-year strategy.
You will be pivotal in developing and implementing the research and policy strategy, including campaigning to national policymakers to drive positive change in the mental health arena. To help to support and promote the research work of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors.
Key responsibilities include:
• To assist the policy and research manager and wider campaigns team in their ongoing national policy and campaigning work, such as raising awareness of psychotherapy and improving access to psychotherapy.

DUTIES OF POST
1. STRATEGY, PLANNING AND CONTROL
a. To contribute to the setting of long-term Objectives, along with the CEO & Board.
b. To implement and deliver the strategic plan for the operation, adhering to regulatory and financial controls.
c. To ensure the Charity is operated to best practice standards, adhering to regulatory and financial controls. Highlighting to the CEO risk which could cause harm to the ongoing operation of the Charity.
d. Ensure Pathway Project remains responsive to the needs of its service users, staff and trustees and can demonstrate the value of the services provided and the impact of its work.
e. Be an expert on matters relating to Domestic Abuse, and best practice in supporting end users.
2. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
a. To be accountable for the delivery of the operation, within defined financial criteria, including business plan & cash flow targets.
b. Support the CEO in providing oversight on the wider financial performance of the Charity.
c. To understand the income generation strategy and collaborate to develop it as required.
d. To support the CEO in the sourcing of funding opportunities and complete any required applications and any required data returns as per funding guidelines.
3. GOVERNANCE
a. To work with the CEO to lead and manage the Charity in accordance with the articles of association and in line with the obligations of the Charity Commission.
b. To support in the development of a best practice operating infrastructure, to allow the Trustee Board to fulfil its statutory responsibilities and exercise effective control.
c. To maintain up to date policies and procedures.
d. To provide support and guidance to the CEO in all aspects of the running of the charity.

4. LEADERSHIP
a. To provide role model leadership to the Pathway Project, embodying the charity’s values and behaviours.

5. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
a. To support Pathway Project in the maintenance and development of community links and fundraising opportunities.
b. To link into the Head of enabling services around income generation and the development of a Community Fundraising Group supported by volunteers.
c. To support Pathway Project CEO, managers and Community Engagement Worker with driving Pathway Projects social media agenda in order to build community support.
d. To be Pathway Projects front facing liaison for community fundraising and support.
e. To attend meetings, as and when appropriate. including out of normal office hours if necessary
6. GENERAL MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
a. To arrange outreach team/staff meetings which positively support the team.
b. To attend management meetings, and where required, Board or Sub Board meetings.
c. To take part in the equitable recruitment of new staff, to deploy existing staff effectively and to motivate and manage the activity of staff ensuring that they effectively contribute to the achievements of Pathway goals and to their own personal development .
d. To participate in the on-call management rota for accommodation support when covering for staff absence or sickness.
e. To help support the continued use and development of OnTrack case management and database system throughout Pathway Project.
f. To ensure the Pathway maintains strong links with local agencies and helps support the domestic abuse agenda through sharing of data and attendance at meetings.
g. To deputise for the CEO where required, alongside other management.
h. To lead on operational projects for the organisation as the main point of contact and oversee work that needs completing, e.g. maintenance of building, service contracts alongside the Finance Manager.
7. OTHER DUTIES
a. To participate and contribute as a senior member of staff towards the development of the Pathway Project.
b. To attend and participate in all relevant meetings, including feeding back to management and trustee meetings and the AGM.
c. To represent Pathway Project and the work it does with external agencies, including written reports and presentations.
d. Carrying out any other task that may be required from time to time in the interests of the effective administration and development of the project, including participating in training and delivering presentations.
e. Ensure that all responsibilities are undertaken in an effective, ethical, and appropriate manner, meeting the standards of Pathway Project.
f. Maintain effective networks with all principal supporters and stakeholders. To actively seek opportunities to expand and promote the role of Pathway within the local community.

Person Specification
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of working in the domestic abuse charity sector and expert knowledge of the domestic abuse sector
- Experience in managing teams at a high level with strong team building and leadership skills
- An understanding of compliance and continual service improvement to ensure quality assurance and service improvements

- Project Management

The Fundraising and Digital Directorate is responsible for all digital communications as well as securing income to support Refugee Council’s charitable objectives. The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role of the Income Processing and Sales Ledger Officer is to support the day to day operation of the Finance and Fundraising functions, which are essential to our ability to deliver on our charitable objectives.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and processing donations, processing of other income and receipts, completion of income side bank reconciliations, management of aged debtors and other sales ledger related tasks, processing of Direct Debits, plus completion of other ad-hoc tasks and provision of general administration support.
The successful candidate will need be able to work to deadlines and have strong basic skills in admin, organisation, and IT. The nature of the role requires someone who is able to manage confidential data, is highly numerate and is a problem solver.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. This role requires an average 2.5 days a week in the office minimum (115 days minimum per year) given the nature of the job. There will be in blocks in the fundraising area, mainly around appeals (3 or 4 blocks a year), where the successful candidate be expected to come into the office 7 or 8 days in a row.
Apart from that, Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 115 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.
