Position: Project Coordinator
Location: Remote, with very infrequent in person meetings and travel required. UK-based.
Employment Type: Temporary contract (9 months), part-time (2 days a week). Extension subject to securing additional funding.
Salary: £30,000 full time equivalent pro-rata

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Project Coordinator to work closely with our trustees and external trainers to organise and deliver community-based communication training workshops, designed to support black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) carers of disabled children. This is a flexible, remote position requiring a commitment of two days per week, with an immediate start. This role is supported following a grant from a large UK charity.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the development, execution, and evaluation of our training workshops and associated activities.
About Yusra Jinaan Foundation:
The Yusra Jinaan Foundation was established in 2022 to honour the memory of our co-founders’ daughter, Yusra, who was born with Joubert’s Syndrome. Our mission is to bring ease to the lives of children with disabilities and their families through our work in three key areas: child, carer, and community.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop culturally sensitive workshops: Collaborate with partners to create bespoke communication training workshops tailored for BAME carers of disabled children.

Project execution: Coordinate the planning and delivery of three workshops across different regions (Buckinghamshire, West Midlands, and the North), ensuring all logistical aspects are handled efficiently. (Please note that whilst this role is remote, attendance at the workshops will be required. Travel expenses and subsistence for day return journeys to the three workshop locations will be covered.)

Community engagement: Work closely with key mosques and community centres to foster strong relationships and secure buy-in for the workshops.

Evaluation and reporting: conduct pre- and post-surveys to measure learning outcomes and participant confidence. Organise focus group discussions to gather feedback and insights. Write internal reports to update trustees and grant reports to the donor.

Peer support networks: Facilitate the establishment of regional peer support networks to reduce isolation and promote information sharing among carers.

Resource management: Ensure participants receive resource packs and maintain a virtual peer network for continued support.

Budget monitoring: Ensure compliance within the budgetary limits set out by the trustees according to the project agreement and grant funder.
Qualifications and Experience:

Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. Our vision is a world in which all women and girls are economically equal and live their lives free of abuse and exploitation.
Economic abuse is a form of coercive and controlling behaviour: 95% of women who experience domestic abuse will experience economic abuse. It limits their choices and ability to access safety.
We work in partnership to ensure women have access to and control over their own economic resources. We focus on four strategic priorities: public education and awareness-raising; transforming professional responses; ensuring systems do not inadvertently facilitate economic abuse; and influencing policy.
Our work is led by victim-survivors of economic abuse (Experts by Experience). Their lived experience and knowledge shapes everything we do. We are always learning, and we share our expertise via a national working group and an international network of practitioners, researchers and policymakers.
Founded in 2017, we are purposeful and agile in approach. We led the successful call to recognise and define economic abuse within the UK Parliament’s Domestic Abuse Bill. This has created a framework and momentum for change. Our aim now is to ensure that policy and practice recognises economic abuse so that victim-survivors are supported to achieve economic justice and abusers are held accountable for their behaviour.
About the Compass Project
The Compass Project Coordinator will work as part of an exciting new partnership between Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA), Living Without Abuse (LWA) and RISE (Refuge, Information, Support & Education). The Compass Project seeks to develop best practice responses to economic abuse within the coordinated community response by working with local professionals to help them understand and respond to economic abuse.
About the Compass Project Coordinator role
The Compass Project Coordinator will work to:
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders across the Project areas (Brighton & Hove, Leicester, Rutland and Leicestershire), coordinating stakeholder engagement and access to training and resources.
- Work closely with the Interim Women’s Sector Manager to coordinate and implement the Compass Project in pilot sites.
The Compass Project Coordinator will:
1. Collaborate with Compass Project Partners to:
- Support the coordination of training and dissemination of resources to professionals across the two pilot sites.
- Identify and engage with local lived experience groups and women with experience of economic abuse, ensuring inclusion of women from minoritised groups, to inform and guide our work.
- Develop and maintain key working relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders and partners across the two local sites including the facilitation of links with money and debt advice services, and local financial services.
- Support the collection of qualitative and quantitative data from the network for the purpose of project and external evaluation.
2. Facilitating access to economic abuse training and resources:
- Develop and deliver tailored training sessions on economic abuse to enable frontline workers to recognise and respond to economic abuse.
- Work with Compass Project Partners to integrate relevant economic abuse content into existing resources.
- Implement data collection processes to support the evaluation of the project.
- Ensure effective communication with the project group and coordination of activities across the two pilot sites. Promote and facilitate SEA’s established routes to support for survivors and professionals.
- Attend local VAWG/DA Network meetings in a consultative capacity as an expert for economic abuse.
- Work with the communications teams across project partners to effectively promote the project.
- Facilitate referrals for women to the Domestic and Financial Abuse Team at Lloyds Banking Group and other banks/building societies we have direct links into.
3. General Duties and Responsibilities

- Represent SEA in training and presentation requests.
- Contribute to evaluation reports and presentations as required for the Compass Project.

Person specification
We are looking for a domestic abuse and/or frontline community professional with an interest in developing expertise around economic abuse. In order to apply, you should have the following skills and experience:
Essential knowledge/skills/experience
- Knowledge and experience of supporting and working with victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Frontline experience of working with victim-survivors would be an advantage.
- An understanding of the coordinated community response to domestic abuse and commitment to all aspects of partnership working to improve the response.
- A strong and demonstrable interest in economic abuse.
- Experience of developing and delivering training face to face and online.
- Strong communication and engagement skills.
- Experience of safeguarding and managing risk.
- Experience of working in partnership and managing relationships with voluntary and statutory sector agencies to enable their full participation in the partnership.

Covering the operational, strategic and delivery of work we are looking for a Project Development Co-ordinator to operate across the South-East, within Kent or with the ability to travel across Kent. Travel within and occasionally outside the regions will be a necessity.
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to supervise, deliver and lead on our stakeholder and community engagement across a region to support the delivery of NEA’s work programme. The role will help deliver projects that can change lives, particularly during the energy crisis. NEA’s project work aims to bring improvements to the health and wellbeing of low income and vulnerable householders, through one-to-one advice, group awareness sessions, upskilling and sharing of best practice.
Delivering on a range or projects, which demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders, you will understand and drive the development of partnerships working with local authorities, housing providers, and various other partners.
You will oversee the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, delivering energy and fuel debt advice directly to householders and be responsible for the preparation of reports to funders including collation of evidence of outcomes achieved; maintaining relationships with a network of stakeholders across a region.
You will also work with the Project Development Manager to identify and develop new programmes of work, including preparation of funding applications, presentation of funding proposals to relevant funding bodies and to ensure effective liaison of NEA’s work programme with other activities within NEA.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.
It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.
You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives;
Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable.

Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.

- To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication.

About the Role
The Supported Lodgings Co-ordinator role is a busy and varied one. You will be responsible for ensuring all young people referred to the service, are assessed, supported and placed effectively with their hosts. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and management of hosts, as well as promoting the service to key stakeholders, and supporting young people directly.
Wigan Supported Lodgings service will work across the different neighborhoods in Wigan and you will be responsible for the effective delivery of it.
Your work will be underpinned by the organisations Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim of which is to ensure that every young person leaves the service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
Your work will also be underpinned by the organisations model of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy informed delivery, the aim of which is to support our clients to understand and act on their values, strengths, and long-term vision for their future.
Working under the direction, guidance and support of the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager and the Greater Manchester Prevention Team you will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.
Key responsibilities include:
• To be the first point of contact for young people and referral partners wanting to access the Supported Lodgings service.
• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for the safeguarding, matching and placement of young people in the homes of hosts
• Arrange all aspects of a young person’s stay with a host, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, taking into account the support needs of individuals.
• You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for young people and hosts through regular checks and reporting.
• To work with young people, hosts and other agencies, to prepare them for independent living and access longer term, appropriate accommodation using support plans.
• You will be part of a team responsible for a 24 hour on call service
• You will recruit, vet and train hosts both formally and informally ensuring that the host recruitment policies and procedures are implemented.
• You will be responsible for carrying out regular checks on host accommodation and assisting them to make necessary changes.

Hours:
This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, to be worked across Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. Purpose of the role

- A 2:1 or 1st class honours degree in a subject area relevant to our work. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
- A minimum of four years’ work experience in a communications role.
- Extensive knowledge and use of social media channels (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.), marketing platforms (e.g. for newsletters) and management tools (e.g. Hootsuite).
- Experience using a range of tools to create digital communications materials (e.g. Canva and video editing software; Illustrator and Premier Pro would be an advantage) and content management systems (e.g. WordPress).
- Understanding of the digital landscape, emerging trends, tools and best practices in social media and digital communications (including SEO, UI, UX, Information Architecture).
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing social media, digital and campaign strategies, and using reporting and analytics tools – with proven success in driving engagement and followers.
- Strong creative flair with a strong understanding of best-practice design principles.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and cope flexibly with a range of jobs to meet (and exceed) client expectations.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail.

Arts Emergency has been supporting young people through its mentoring programme since 2011. During this time, we’ve seen a huge community of mentors from across the UK’s creative industries come together to support nearly 2,000 underrepresented young people to pursue higher education, creativity and careers.
As the Merseyside Mentoring Officer, you will work to recruit, match and support mentoring pairs across Merseyside. This is a busy, fun, and super rewarding role where you’ll get to work independently while being supported by the Mentoring Manager, your Mentoring team colleagues, and the wider Arts Emergency team around the country.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience working with young people aged 16-18
- Experience of programme delivery in a related field (e.g. youth work, arts and culture, education)
- Knowledge of the context and issues affecting young people in Merseyside
Skills & Abilities

Key Tasks
- Recruit and maintain a network of volunteer mentors, in collaboration with the wider Mentoring and Arts Emergency team
- Organise mentor training events and carry out necessary safeguarding measures, including enhanced checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for volunteers
- Promote the mentoring programme with schools, colleges, and other referral partners
- Manage existing relationships and develop new ones with schools, colleges, and other referral partners
- Manage application and onboarding processes effectively
- Ensure the best possible mentor matches for young people and provide high-quality support throughout their mentoring relationship
- Monitor the programme and share updates proactively with the Mentoring Manager, including reviewing and responding to mentor reports
- Curate monthly newsletters, sharing opportunities with Merseyside-based mentees
The role can be home or office based, or hybrid. Arts Emergency’s head office is in London and Manchester. We also have access to Spaces offices around the country which can be used by all staff if an office space is needed outside these areas - including a co-working space off Wood Street in Liverpool city centre. Regular travel across Merseyside is essential as part of programme delivery.
