This role is based in the UK on a remote homeworking contract or based in our London office. If the role is based in the London office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark and drive forward a developing income stream with great potential.

The role will help to build, shape and deliver our In Memory Giving programme over the 12 months of this maternity cover role. Through engaging communications and campaigns the role will grow both income and the pipeline of new donors. The role will help to innovate and improve existing systems to support its delivery, and also provide excellent supporter care and stewardship.

The role is within the Legacy and In Memory team, and will work in close collaboration with Legacy Marketing colleagues.

You will have experience in fundraising and/or marketing, and have a broad range of skills to successfully deliver on the potential of this role. We are looking for someone to develop engaging campaigns and communications that drives income and long-term relationships, and who has the communication and influencing skills to liaise across internal teams and stakeholders and external agencies/suppliers.

As well as having a head for CRM systems, planning and problem solving, you will have the interpersonal skills needed to communicate sensitively with supporters, including the bereaved.

The Landscape

As we approach our 60th anniversary we have been going through a period of strategic and organisational development, expanding our ambitions to create and demonstrate impact, not just for the Fellows themselves but also at a local community and UK-wide level. The Role

The People & Culture Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the human resources function, ensuring that the organisation attracts, develops, and retains high-quality staff. This role  supports the Finance & Operations Director in fostering a positive and inclusive working culture, whilst ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development

• Support the development of TCF’s approach to effective methods of working and inclusive organisational culture, drawing upon best practice from across the sector and ensuring alignment with organisational values.

• Support the annual planning cycle, working with the Finance & Operations Director to develop and implement the annual and quarterly rhythm of team meetings, workshops and opportunities for team gatherings.

• Support the Finance & Operations Director through developing guidance for line managers to support the annual rhythm of 1:1 meetings and quarterly reviews supporting team members to meeting their operational objectives and personal development goals.

• Support the ongoing development of HR policies and processes, including the newly developed Staff Handbook, recruitment, staff onboarding, probation, annual reviews and professional development, as well as regularly reviewing staff benefits and ensuring they are in line with good practice.

Employee Relations and HR Management

• Maintain elements of the employee database (BambooHR), to support staff with administrative requests relating to annual leave calculations, signing documentation and updating personal information.

• Supporting the recruitment process by creating new roles on BambooHR, arranging the advertising on appropriate websites and working with line managers to initially triage and longlist applications.

• Develop onboarding processes to ensure new team members have the information they need to thrive in the organisation.

• Prepare offers of employment, change of terms letters and other standard employment documentation, with support from external HR Advisors, and the Finance & Operations Director.

• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, with support from external HR Advisors, and the Finance & Operations Director.

• Manage the relationship with the appointed EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) including regularly reviewing the support available to ensure it offers the right level of support for team members in line with our values and aspirations as an good employer.

• Develop and build the process for employee objective-setting in BambooHR, and how this then links to the wider organisational strategy, ensuring line managers are equipped to utilize this tool effectively.

• Support the appointed Data Officer (Finance & Operations Director) by managing the organisation’s approach to GDPR and data protection with respect to HR specific processes, overseeing HR systems and records, ensuring data integrity and security.

Learning and Development

• Support the design of a learning and development plan for all teams, identifying potential training options for individuals and teams as needed, working with Directors to identify key learning needs and either develop learning offers to meet those needs or source relevant and high impact external training, for both hard and soft skills.

• Organise and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to support professional development of all staff.

Team Facilitation & Engagement

• Play a lead role in facilitating and organising team meetings and workshops.

• Proactively developing agendas in advance to ensure staff are kept informed.

• Develop and manage a monthly internal staff update, with contributions from the team.

• Develop and plan team lunches and group activities, with the support of the Operations Co-Ordinator

Line Management

• Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Operations Co-ordinator, supporting in a line management capacity to encourage and develop organisational skills and personal development goals.

In addition to the responsibilities detailed above, the People & Culture Manager will also undertake any new and additional projects at the discretion of the Finance & Operations Director.

Our fundraising team is ambitious, with a strong track record of success and plans for growth. This role is new to the team and the post holder will have the opportunity to make a major impact in helping deliver our grants, legacy and major donor fundraising as part of the Trust’s strategy. 

Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager and working alongside the Senior Grants Officer, this role will support grants and legacy fundraising in particular, as well as looking after Trust donors and getting involved in fundraising events. 

Together, the team will build first-class journeys for a variety of supporters to secure vital income for the organisation both now and in the future. Strong people and relationship skills as well as a good writing style and attention to detail will be essential. 

This role would suit a candidate who may already have some fundraising experience and is now keen to build their knowledge and expertise in grants, legacies and major donor fundraising. We have an experienced and skilled team in place which would provide the right candidate with an excellent and supportive environment in which to grow.

Role Description

The Project Manager is an adept and organised professional, esteemed within the nuclear policy community for their level. Responsible for overseeing a discrete package of work, they must demonstrate a clear understanding and alignment with broader programme goals, strategies, and objectives. The role will report to the Programme Manager.

Taking charge of project deliverables, the Project Manager will navigate the entire project cycle, from generating fundraising ideas to developing them further and building knowledge of funding relationships. 

The Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of global security and conflict

resolution, coupled with a proven ability to design, and execute high-quality project management and research. The ideal candidate is an established researcher with a specialisation in nuclear weapons issues or whatever else is relevant to the project that they will be managing, and an emerging track record of policy relevant publications. 

The Project Manager will manage two BASIC projects concurrently:

1. The Peaceful Nuclear Technologies Portal (PEANUT, 2024-2025)

The PEANUT Portal will be a one-stop shop microsite featuring information about available civil nuclear science and technologies for the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or ‘Global Goals’). In this capacity, you will work with a subject matter expert (already appointed) to build the site and actively promote the site and peaceful nuclear technologies more generally amongst relevant States and multilateral conferences.

As Project Manager, you will oversee the successful completion of further funding for the PEANUT project for beyond March 2025.

2. ‘Scoping British Nuclear Weapons Harms’ (2024-2026). 

Scoping British Nuclear Harms is a two-year scoping inquiry into the humanitarian and environmental harms caused by the UK Government’s nuclear weapons programme since its genesis. The candidate will build on existing work by BASIC to develop a nuclear harm reduction framework, and develop national and international networks with others working on these issues to develop and promote this work.

The role requires a fundamental understanding of the UK’s nuclear weapons programme and history, and the Project Manager will have a professional background in nuclear science and/or technology. Ideally the Project Manager will also have experience with science communication. 

The Project Manager should possess the skills to expand their network in their area of specialisation, benefiting BASIC, and be capable of line managing other team members within their programme. 

This role necessitates a formal project or programme management qualification – BASIC will provide the Project Manager with such training and qualifications if they do not already possess one. The Project Manager will collaborate with their line manager to identify a professional development plan, closing skills gaps and aspiring to become an internationally respected leader in their field.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements

• Line manage, mentor/coach, and provide pastoral care for the project team: policy fellows, project assistants and interns

• Write high-quality, policy-relevant research reports, op-eds and briefings

Role Requirements

Essential Criteria for the role

• Educated to Master’s level – or demonstrate the equivalent in work experience

• 7+ years of work experience in a think tank, research institute, NGO, foundation or government working on international security issues

• Passion and commitment to our organisational mission of promoting dialogue to advance global security

• Demonstrated ability and track record in leading the creative development and delivery of policy projects in the UK or internationally, including budgeting and reporting

• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds and with broad variations in seniority and function

• Excellent analytical and methodological skills, and an organised approach to research

• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including evidence of working successfully as part of a team

• Strong track record of previous fundraising experience and success

Youth Action Wiltshire (YAW) is the youth arm of the award-winning charity Community First. About the Team:
The Gender Equality & Social Inclusion Senior Advisor is based in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team of the Programme Support & Knowledge team (PSK), a key unit of the WaterAid UK International Programmes Department (IPD) operating in 17 African and Asian countries. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world's poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange.

The team provides technical advisory expertise and fosters and supports internal and external programme and technical partnerships and networks. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards and advise and support the delivery of a programme capacity enhancement strategy. PSK collaborates with many functions across the organisation including policy, advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, communications, as well as with WaterAid partners and collaborators.

About the Role:

The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Lead.

Together with the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Lead, the Senior Advisor co-leads the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the thematic areas of GESI and other closely associated topics for high quality WASH programming. Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he provides high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, she/he co-leads the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-leads the development of relevant standards and guidance. She/he also provides strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.

The Senior advisor has a high degree of independent and professional responsibility within own specialist areas, and discusses with her/his line manager to agree on how objectives are delivered. She/he is seen as a thematic authority and is able to handle highly challenging technical assignments. With a good understanding of organisational dynamics and ways of working, she/he is expected to effectively collaborate widely across WaterAid, facilitating joined-up and comprehensive efforts to advance WaterAid's programming globally.

About You:

• Strong technical experience in gender, equality, disability, social inclusion, rights, and other inter-related topics for WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong experience in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities.
• Ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways.
• Strong writing ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting needs of diverse audiences.
• Organised and efficient. Demonstrated ability to drive tasks forward to completion in a timely manner while maintaining high quality.
• A team player, able to work responsibly, under pressure, and collaboratively across diverse groups and culture.
• Working style that reflects WaterAid's values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
• Solid IT skills, particularly with core Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Relevant technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, water, sanitation, hygiene, behaviour change, health, environment and/or other WASH-related topics.
• Working knowledge in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or any language widely spoken in the countries where WaterAid has programming.

Spectra has recently created a new team of three fundraisers (including this post holder). We aim to increase levels of engagement, interest and financial support from trusts and foundations, major donors, and individual giving, including increasing the level of unrestricted funding.

The Fundraising Executive role and purpose is to:

• Develop and implement a ‘small trust’ plan. They will deliver compelling and impactful approaches to trusts and foundations for financial support. Responsible for smaller trust funding applications of under 10K per year.
• Develop a new individual giving programme, set and achieve targets, and provide a high standard of stewardship in these areas of work.
• Cross working to support the ‘Major Trusts and Foundations’ Fundraiser and the Fundraising manager as required.

• provide advice to centre staff in rehoming centres, as well as contributing to the ongoing assessment and rehabilitation of dogs in our care,
• collaborate with Behaviour Officers to provide bespoke behaviour training,
• in specific cases, complete independent assessments of dog behaviour to evaluate and understand the best approach.

In this role you’ll be mentoring and motivating our Behaviour teams, so you'll need experience of giving regular feedback and supporting colleagues with professional development, while being empathetic to the impacts of working closely with dogs with complex behaviour.. You’ll need significant experience of handling challenging dogs and assessing dog behaviour, particularly in a kennel environment. This will be supported by excellent knowledge of dog behaviour and the ability to tailor evidence based, appropriate behaviour plans.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

• Oversee the development of a pipeline of funding applications and approaches across Trusts and Philanthropy to ensure existing and future funding needs are met from leadership giving sources.
• Take a lead role in establishing a compelling, future focused high value case for support that enables a dedicated Leadership Giving appeal in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the BBC Radio 4 Appeal in 2026.
