The Vacancy

Join an incredible charity making a real difference for children and families across Scotland

At CHAS, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As a well-respected and widely recognised charity, we are passionate about creating a culture where learning, growth, and feedback thrive—helping our teams be their very best as they support those who need us most.

We’re looking for an innovative and knowledgeable Learning & Organisational Development Manager to join our People team. This is an exciting and autonomous role in a small but ambitious team, where you will work alongside another L&OD Manager and our L&OD Adviser, reporting to the Head of People. You’ll have the opportunity to shape learning and development across all our locations, working with incredible colleagues to support them on their learning journeys.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive forward a culture of learning and feedback, ensuring personal and professional development is embedded across the organisation.
  • Design and deliver impactful L&OD initiatives that align with our organisational goals and People strategy.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and teams, supporting them to thrive.
  • Work alongside our talented volunteers and staff to leverage their knowledge and skills
  • Encourage creativity and innovation, using your expertise to empower our teams to embrace innovations in L&OD.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate and creative L&OD professional who thrives on making a difference.
  • A coaching-led approach, empowering colleagues to reach their full potential.
  • Strong expertise in organisational development, leadership development, and learning strategies.
  • Someone who is excited to shape and influence our learning culture in a values-driven, people-focused organisation.

We Offer:

  • Flexible Working: we embrace flexible and family-friendly working arrangements, typically operating in a hybrid manner with meaningful time onsite.  CHAS offers flexible and family friendly working and are happy to discuss working arrangements that work for you! This role can be based in Edinburgh, Stepps, Rachel House in Kinross or Robin House in Balloch. Frequent travel between sites and in-person training delivery is expected.
  • Professional Growth: This influential role provides exposure across the entire organisation, including direct collaboration with senior leaders and the CEO. You'll have the opportunity to develop your expertise, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact, with support to continuously grow and enhance your skills.
  • Leadership commitment to growing a learning culture: Investment in developing and delivering a first-class L&OD experience for CHAS colleagues.
  • Supportive peers as part of a high-performing, valued team, you'll have the support and opportunity to collaborate with the L&OD team, wider People Team, and stakeholders across CHAS
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Including generous annual leave and pension, incremental salary progression, life assurance, employee assistance programme, access to Blue Light discounts, and health and wellbeing support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an organisation that truly values its people. If you’re ready to make a real impact and help create a culture where learning is at the heart of everything we do, we’d love to hear from you!
