This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA).

The IGVA will work closely with victims/survivors of gender-based violence, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support across all risk levels. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors and to improve agencies responses to DA and VAWG.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

About the Role

As the Outreach and Engagement Lead for Enfield SASS, you would be working on an exciting new project to train and upskill local businesses to respond effectively to Violence Against Women and Girls. The focus would be on engaging businesses operating in the nighttime economy, to access Enfield Council training to support their staff to safeguard and respond to incidents or disclosures of gender-based violence in the local area. You would be working closely with Enfield Council and the Police to set up and run the 6-month project.

About You

You will need a passion for tackling VAWG and a thorough understanding of gender based violence and its impact on women and their children.

You will have excellent communication skills, in order to liaise and engage with businesses, stakeholders and Enfield Council. You will also have the ability to collate data and report on the project outcomes. You will be able to work autonomously and use initiative in the project management, with the support of the Service Manager and project steering group.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Community Engagement Lead. The successful candidate will lead on mappng services in the Borough; forming partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies based on identified needs of the service to enhance and extend multi-disciplinary knowledge available at and through the Gaia Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for managing relationships with partner agencies and coordinating co-locations within the Gaia service as well as negotiating for staff from the service to co-locate with partner agencies. You will build capacity for a community response to meet the needs of survivors of VAWG by drawing on the expertise of other specialist and by-and-for service providers, such as those working with LGBTQ+ victim/survivors, disabled victim/survivors or victim/survivors of so-called ‘honor’-based violence in order to provide a wraparound support as part of a broader service offer. The post holder will also support a team of the Peer Support Mentors and volunteers who will be leading on some practical aspects of individual and group support for survivors accessing the GAIA Centre.

The successful candidate will be skilled at working with a diverse range of audiences and will be adept at creating and developing new partnerships and pathways that contribute towards coordinated community response and improve the lives of survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. You will also have experience of developing teams and supervising people.

The Oasis Hub Waterloo team are currently looking for a Foodbank Trusts & Corporate Fundraiser to raise much-needed funds for our Waterloo Foodbank and other strategic partners.

The successful applicant would be responsible for writing funding bids for trusts, and also developing relationships with local businesses, to increase our unrestricted corporate income.

Some of the duties of this newly created role include:

· Research and identify potential short- and long-term funders from among grant making trusts and statutory bodies.

· To prepare written applications in co-operation with and on behalf of Waterloo Foodbank projects and ensure suitable budgets are prepared.

· Proven successful experience of fundraising.

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the leading NGOs dedicated to the protection, conservation, and restoration of the world's oceans. The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF), Oceana, The Nature Conservancy, The Pew Charitable Trusts and WWF are working together as the EU IUU Fishing Coalition to promote EU leadership in improving global fisheries transparency and governance to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Since 2014, the coalition has been working to improve both the EU's own anti-IUU fishing systems and policies and to promote some of the EU’s best practices on ocean governance and fisheries transparency in other regions such as East Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Using the EU’s influence as a major flag and market State, we are helping the EU to drive policy change at the global level, prioritising increasing transparency in the fisheries sector as a means to improve global fisheries governance. To achieve this, we are working with the EU as it implements its zero-tolerance commitment against IUU fishing, primarily through its IUU Regulation. In addition, with the view to improve ocean governance, the Coalition also promotes better inter-agency coordination in relevant policy areas such as consumer rights (due diligence), human rights, labour rights, external trade and others, urging EU agencies to be ambitious and ensuring that ongoing positive reforms are sustained. We are also engaging the EU, as a major global player, to work more closely with other seafood markets such as Japan and the US to harmonise policies to stop IUU fishing and import of illegally-caught products through developing strong import control schemes. To make this happen, we are engaging with key decision-makers, strengthening relationships with the seafood industry, fisheries authorities and the NGO community, raising awareness among citizens on the topic, using media strategically and providing intelligence to the EU.

To support the delivery of these objectives, the coalition is seeking a full-time researcher who will be responsible for producing and supporting relevant research and other publications required for the coalition’s advocacy work. The individual we seek will have excellent research and writing skills in English and will be capable of working independently and coordinating with a dispersed and diverse multinational team. Good communication skills, initiative and drive are important. Knowledge of fisheries or ocean conservation issues is an advantage. This is a fast-paced role demanding attention to detail, an ability to quickly grasp new issues, and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Key responsibilities:

• Working with and under coalition members’ supervision, the researcher will conduct specific research, as well as compile and process data relevant to campaign objectives (sometimes working jointly with consultants).

• Produce policy briefings, rebuttals, reports and communication materials and on occasion present them to relevant audiences.

• Edit and proofread all coalition public-facing outputs.

• Monitor the EU and international policy agenda related to IUU fishing, identifying key policy opportunities to successfully achieve coalition goals.

• The researcher will report directly to the coalition coordinator, consulting closely with coalition members, taking full consideration of their priorities and internal processes.

• Some travelling primarily within Europe might be required, including attending Brussels-based meetings relevant to coalition objectives.

Essential skills and attributes:

• A university degree in a related field.

• Excellent and demonstrable research, writing, editing and proofreading skills.

• English language skills at native speaker level, both written and spoken.

• Excellent communication skills, initiative and independent working.

• Excellent time management skills.

Desirable skills:

• A good understanding of fisheries issues, especially of IUU fishing and its environmental, economic, and social impacts and of EU fisheries policy, or ocean conservation.

• Knowledge of other EU languages (particularly French, German, Spanish or Dutch).

• Experience in public speaking and engagement activities, such as workshops, seminars, and community outreach.

EMMS International is Scotland's longest-serving international healthcare charity having been set up in Edinburgh in 1841. Fareham and Gosport Wellbeing service is looking to recruit 2 PCN Peer Support Workers. One each to be based in the Gosport and Coastal PCN surgeries in the Fareham and Gosport localities.

In this role, you will support the PCN Wellbeing Advisors, hold a caseload of patients offering 1-1 sessions to help manage mental wellbeing. You will also support people to access groups and activities in the community. You will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues in group and one to one settings, include telephone, face to face and online engagement.

You will need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey.

As part of the Evaluation, Performance and Research team, you will work across the organisation to guide, challenge and provide practical support for the planning and implementation of Mind's strategy.

You will conduct high quality research and evaluations of Mind's work, monitor our organisational performance, and transparently share our impact and learning, in order to mobilise the change needed to achieve our strategic ambitions.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

-Conduct in-house evaluations of Mind's flagship programmes and other charitable activities - using mixed methods - to help the organisation understand and improve its impact.

-Conduct high quality research projects that will produce insights on strategically important topics and support the analysis and synthesis of internally and externally produced research work.

-Support the commissioning and contract management of external evaluation and research providers.

-Work with the Head of Evaluation, Performance and Research to conduct robust analysis of organisational performance in order to inform strategy development and corporate planning.

PICs work alongside health and care professionals, adopting a multidisciplinary approach to working with people who have long term health and social care needs. The PICs provide critical links between formal health and social care services and the wider community support networks. We have adapted our way of working in response to COVID, helping older people to access technology and connect in new and exciting ways.

Purpose of the role:

As our CEO Office administrator you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Committee and helping them lead ZSL effectively.  You will help create an operation where efficiency, organisation and enthusiasm come together. You will work closely with the Executive Committee, the Executive Assistant to the CEO and the wider admin support staff to form part of a small, happy and mutually supportive team.  You will be an integral part of supporting the conservation charity from the very heart of the organisation.

Key responsibilities:  

• Master of multitasking: Juggling various responsibilities with finesse, you’ll handle a spectrum of tasks including supporting the management of the Directors diaries, coordinating internal and external meetings and handling the administration of our Governance team.
• Guardian of productivity: You’ll be one of the go-to people for streamlining processes to make the CEO’s office more efficient and enjoyable.
• Ambassador of Hospitality: Your welcoming demeanour will make every visitor to the CEO’s office feel like an honoured guest, whether it’s a donor, supporter or team member, your hospitality will create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
• Event maestro: Your event planning skills will leave our stakeholders feeling well looked after and excited to be holding their meeting, workshop or away day at our zoos.
• Technology guru: You will need to embrace your tech savvy side as you navigate various office systems and tools. You will be responsible for managing email and letter correspondence, maintaining databases and the financial administration within the CEO’s office and the wider Executive Committee Team.
• Problem solver extraordinaire: Your knack for finding creative solutions will ensure any hurdles are transformed into opportunities.

About You:

Desirable but not essential

• Previous Admin support experience
• Personal Assistant experience
• Proven experience managing complex competing diaries at an executive level
• Interest in conservation in connection to our organisational goals and values
• Demonstrate an appetite and ability to learn and develop in the role
• Experience in events management
