How you will make a difference

As a Senior Workplace Mental Health and Training Officer, I research, develop, test and deliver high-quality, evidence-based training and initiatives suitable for a wide range of customers and delivered in different formats. I use my knowledge and passion for mental health and workplace mental health to:

• Deliver our training in a range of settings i.e. to workplaces, community groups and members of the public both in person and remotely
• Provide needs analysis and consultancy to our corporate clients, using various tools such as desk-based analysis, surveys, focus groups and interviews
• Deliver other initiatives, such as facilitated peer support, in workplaces

I deliver these services myself and support our freelance associate trainers and facilitators to deliver them. I deliver across all sectors and industries in the public, third and private sector.

I provide excellent account management and customer service. I monitor, track and report on the progress of contracts and programmes, providing reports suitable for internal and external stakeholders.

*Appointments will be at the minimum of the salary band shown above.

This is a unique opportunity where you will play an impactful role in supporting the Training & Compliance Managers, external suppliers & agencies, and fundraising teams to develop, implement, and manage the quality and compliance monitoring of our face-to-face and telemarketing campaigns.

This will include monitoring, tracking, and reporting on the quality and compliance of fundraisers working on our Individual Giving campaigns (both face-to-face and outbound calling) to ensure these activities are ethical and compliant in line with industry standards, ultimately safeguarding Cancer Research UK's reputation.

This role will be both desk-based and 'in the field' meaning no day will be the same and you'll discover something new every day. For example, some days you will be designing and delivering training to our fundraisers both in-person across the UK and virtually; shadowing fundraisers onsite; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and agencies; delivering mystery shopping programmes, identifying trends and improvements, developing engagement tools and materials, contributing to the team's strategy, and many more.

What will I be doing?

Delivering the day-to-day compliance monitoring, training, and engagement programmes for Cancer Research UK's Face-to-Face Fundraisers, including but not limited to:

• Delivering Cancer Research UK's mystery shopping program. This will involve identifying, collating, and reporting on trends, ensuring to act on learnings in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Collaborating with and supporting internal stakeholders with compliance monitoring programmes (including mystery shopping programmes and call sampling activities).

• Handling, resolving, and collating complaints related to face-to-face fundraising activities and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure learnings are acted upon.

• Monitoring and observing fundraiser training provided by external suppliers, shadowing fundraisers onsite, and providing feedback and advice on best practices to ensure industry standards are adhered to.

• Identifying and reporting on trends in fundraiser compliance and standards internally, while seeking and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Delivering inspiring training presentations to fundraisers across the UK and virtually, communicating CRUK's work, including scientific research and compliant behaviours, in an easy-to-understand approach.

• Collaborating with external suppliers to plan and organise training sessions for fundraisers, both in-person across the UK and virtually, as well as 'in the field activities'.

• Contributing to the development of engagement tools and materials (e.g., fundraiser support materials, news posters, engagement modules, thank you and basic training videos, and awards).

• Designing and developing fundraiser training materials in line with the Training & Compliance Monitoring Strategy and the Chartered Institute of Fundraising's standards.

• Evaluating training programmes and sharing findings with the team and agencies.

• Contributing to the development of the Training & Compliance Monitoring Strategy.

What are you looking for?

• A background of working in training, compliance or fundraising (this could include Learning & Development roles), with strong training, facilitation, presentation skills to individuals and groups of people, and ideally with an ability to coach face to face fundraisers in the field.

• Strong planning, organisational and analytical skills with an ability to work autonomously while managing multiple changing priorities and tasks.

• Resilient, flexible, comfortable with uncertainty and changing priorities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in communicating with diverse audiences and conveying key messages in an effective and inspiring way.

• Proactive and inspiring communicator, with the ability to be an excellent ambassador for the charity

• An ability to build and maintain collaborative stakeholder relationships with an ability to influence, motivate, and negotiate with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Word.

• Able to travel across the UK (on average 2 days per week).

• Ideally has knowledge and understanding of charity fundraising best practices & legislation in line with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

Main Purpose of Role: Identify, gather, and shape content & case studies suitable for wide-ranging comms channels, while effectively supporting the Comms team to deliver engaging comms across all channels. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Support the Head of Communications to develop and maintain the annual comms calendar/plan and work with teams to support its delivery. 

• Support PR & Communications Manager in gathering and sharing case studies from start to finish.

• Nurture relationships with clients and frontline workers as appropriate, with regular communication throughout the year - for example, thanking, sharing the Year in Review, sending Christmas cards. 

• Work closely with the Digital Manager to support our social media strategy and help manage social media channels day-to-day.

• Work closely with colleagues across both the Fundraising and Programmes teams to ensure their comms needs are supported effectively.

The Role
Develop a legacy marketing strategy to help ensure that legacy influencing is an integral part of the charitys marketing and promotion.

The Candidate
Substantial experience of Legacy and In Memory fundraising at a managerial level.
Demonstrable extensive experience of legacy marketing.
Proven track record of achieving targets and managing budgets.
Experience of working closely with Legacy Administrators to maximise income received from gifts in wills.
Experience of in-memory and tribute funds.

The Role

Reporting to the Volunteer Services Manager, we are looking for a Volunteer Services Coordinator who will be responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of Leeds Hospitals Charity volunteers. The person will:

· Coordinate the recruitment and onboarding processes for new volunteers, providing personalised support to volunteers at each stage of the process.

· Maintain accurate and compliant records within the Charity’s database.

· Support Charity staff with their management responsibilities, ensuring they have the tools to manage their volunteers safely and effectively.

· Support volunteers with issues and concerns that they may have relating to their volunteering.

· Support with all elements of reward & recognition of volunteers, and coordinate content for the website / publicity / social media.

You will:

· Have a strong administrative background and proficiency in IT packages.

· Have a passion to work with and support volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders, audiences and partners.

· Have excellent time management, planning and prioritisation.

· Be able to work as part of a team to achieve common goals whilst being accountable for own work.

Step-Out Mentoring is an early intervention mentoring organisation that provides support for children and young people in the heart of South London through outdoor based 1:1 mentoring and group workshops. As the Mentoring Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the work of supporting young people in the community. Through recruiting and training local volunteers to be Youth Mentors and matching them to young people referred to the program. Supporting 1:1 and group sessions with a particular focus on delivering outdoor based, fun, and engaging sessions. This role is specifically to support the young women and girls on the programme.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 20 active 1:1 mentee / mentor relationships.
• Building appropriate relationships with, and supporting YP through 1:1 and group mentoring
• Supporting girls through focused workshops and group activities. Developing a curiculum of suport for them.
• Create pathways for inspiring YP to engage in positive volunteering opportunities.
• Managing referrals from other organisations and being involved in the support systems in place for those young people.
• To co-ordinate and train a team of volunteer mentors who will provide support to young people on a weekly basis. Specifically female mentors.
• To ensure the volunteer mentors support young people to access services and develop skills and support them in making choices which will help them improve their physical, psychological and social well-being.
• To ensure safeguarding and child protection processes are in place and adhered to at all times.
• To work with community organisations and statutory agencies to create referral and access pathways into and out of the mentoring project and to promote the project as widely aspossible.
• Plan, organise and manage the 3 residential trips a year, in collaboration with other staff.
• Organise day trip activities in partnership with other staff

We are seeking an exceptional leader and brilliant relationship fundraiser to join the Philanthropy department, leading the Major Donor team at Alzheimer’s Society. The same team doubled their income target last year!
This is a hugely exciting time to work for the UK’s leading dementia charity. The Major Donor Team is growing fast, and we have plans to significantly increase our income to fund critical dementia support services and research. Two ground-breaking treatments have recently shown for the first time that it is possible to slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.

Critical to our ambition is developing new partnerships with philanthropic supporters. We have a pipeline of new ground-breaking research & community projects in development that provide an exciting opportunity to grow funding from this audience, and a new major donor prospect pipeline and cultivation programme up and running.
In this role, you will develop and deliver the major donor growth plan, in line with the Philanthropy strategy to 2030, leading a brilliant team of major donor specialist fundraisers. You will develop new long-term, and transformational partnerships with philanthropic partners (both individuals and families) at a £500k+ and £1m+ level. You will be key to engaging them with the Society’s ambitious vision and exciting major programmes of work, spanning cutting-edge research, health inequalities, clinical trials, on-the-ground support, and participation for people living with dementia, and new life-changing dementia treatments.

Importantly, the role also provides the chance to deliver a meaningful impact on the lives of people affected by dementia, helping us to reach our goal of securing £5+ million a year from Major Donors by 2027.

Alzheimer’s Society is primarily a home-based organisation, with the possibility to use our London/Birmingham offices as desired, however, there are also hybrid and office contracts available, so we can be fully flexible. You will be required to travel to attend donor meetings and some team-based meetings and training, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK and be able to travel to our London flagship office when required.

- You will also be a confident and engaging communicator, adept at collaborating with stakeholders internally and externally, with a detailed understanding of the evolving major donor and philanthropic landscape. You must understand the motivations of social impact investing for supporters and be curious and highly motivated about ending the devastation caused by dementia.
