Children's Rights Advocacy Worker
Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice is an umbrella service that manages a portfolio of Children's Rights and Advocacy contracts.
Barnardo's is commissioned locally to provide a visiting Children's Rights and Advocacy Service to children and young people being held at Barton Moss SCC. In addition, Barnardo's is commissioned by the MoJ to provide a service to the wider secure estate: all Secure Training Centres (STC's) and Young Offender Institutions (YOI's) across England and Wales.
Our service objective is to provide knowledge on Children's Rights, independent advice, support and advocacy services to children and young people in accordance with the aims and objectives of Barnardo's: Your Rights, Your Voice (Secure Estate), the Children Act (1989, 2004), United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the National Advocacy Standards (DOH, 2002).
In addition, to work as part of a team to deliver an effective and efficient service which empowers children and young people detained within a secure setting to have a voice, access available services and entitlements. Also to ensure their rights are being met in relation to issues relating to their welfare, care and treatment.

Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner
A Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner is required to work on an initial 3-month contract for a charity based in Southeast London.
The Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner will be required on site from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
· Carrying out thorough evaluations to pinpoint each person's requirements, strengths, and risks associated with criminal activity.
· Creating and carrying out individualised intervention plans with an emphasis on risk reduction, rehabilitation, and reintegration in conjunction with service users.
· Ensuring adherence to court orders, licence conditions, and additional legal mandates, while submitting progress reports on a regular basis to the relevant authorities.
· Giving people one-on-one support, advocacy, and mentorship to help them deal with underlying problems such drug abuse, unstable housing, job obstacles, and social marginalisation.
· Directing workshops, educational sessions, and group programmes on subjects like life skills development, anger control, and conflict resolution.
Experience Required:
· Prior experience working with people who are at risk of offending or have a history of interaction with the criminal justice system in probation services, criminal justice settings, or comparable jobs.
· Familiarity with the laws, regulations, and practices that control the criminal justice system in the United Kingdom.
· Strong familiarity with risk assessment instruments, evidence-based interventions, and criminological theories as they relate to offender management.
· Outstanding negotiating, conflict-resolution, and communication skills, as well as the capacity to interact well with people from a variety of backgrounds.

The main purpose of this role is to provide energy advice to householders by telephone and email. You will be expected to provide information to help householders and clients access the appropriate support while maintaining accurate and detailed records of all interactions with clients.
Pay and conditions

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- To work on the advice line and/or other telephone advice projects making and receiving calls from people who may need help with energy related issues.
- To record client details and use knowledge to assess help and support needed.
- To refer clients onto other support organisations in their area as appropriate.
- To identify energy improvements that can be made to clients’ properties and refer to installers who can fit them.
- To help vulnerable clients make applications for grants and switch energy tariffs where appropriate.
- To listen attentively to callers (some of whom may be in distress) and respond to their needs in an empathetic way.
- To be familiar with and adhere to advice line protocol, processes and procedures.

We are seeking a part-time Project Support Administrator (up to 15 hours per week). The post-holder will be based at our Exeter office, although there is some scope for partial homeworking, subject to agreement.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, with previous administrative experience and good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook etc.), including a sound grasp of data entry (Microsoft Azure, Teams).
