The Role

This role is all about people – connecting with church leaders and other individuals within church communities, sharing your passion for freedom of religion or belief through sermons, presentations and conversations to inspire others to take action. You’ll be a natural networker and someone entrepreneurial who takes initiative and comes up with your own ideas for how best to reach busy church leaders and congregations. You will be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• Proactively source speaking engagements in churches across the UK and fulfil these engagements, both by deploying a network of staff and volunteer speakers and by speaking yourself.
• Develop a plan to reach new and lapsed churches for CSW
• Use the CRM, as well as your own connections, to identify key church stakeholders to approach about partnering with CSW
• Build meaningful relationships with new and existing church partners, with the view to supporting churches in learning about justice and religious freedom issues and establishing or renewing support through prayer, campaigning and giving

• Proven experience of church engagement for a charity with demonstrable outcomes
• Experience of public speaking, preferably in churches
• A minimum of two years’ experience of account management or managing relationships with customers/ supporters

This is a new role for the CHS Alliance which will oversee the delivery of an ambitious new approach to assess how aid organisations are meeting their commitments to people in crisis. The CHS LOCALED initiative is initially supported by USAID BHA with a three-year programme covering four countries. It compares community views of the aid response with how organisations assisting them are meeting their CHS Commitments, providing a comprehensive picture of aid effectiveness in specific humanitarian responses.

The Programme Manager – Collective accountability for affected people, is a senior role which will oversee a diverse and multifaceted programme. It will require strong coordination skills to liaise with many of the CHS Alliance members, partners and secretariat team functions. The role demands someone who thrives on overseeing competing demands, is an excellent, clear and diplomatic communicator, and sees the potential for innovation and adaption based on learning. This role will work collaboratively with the Senior Advisor for Policy & Outreach, who will provide technical and representational leadership for the programme

About the role

This opportunity comes at a unique and exciting time in the evolution of our charity, as we look at how we continue to grow our work sustainably and deepen the connections between our youth and land-based work streams.

As Senior Programme Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape our work nationally as well as lead our programmes in the North West of England, enabling us to grow our reach, deepen our impact and ultimately deliver our mission. Your work will ensure that across our programmes we offer young people meaningful and impactful opportunities to take action for people and the planet and have a voice in shaping the future of our landscapes. 

You will work closely with and report to the Head of Impact and Programme Operations. You will also line manage the other regional Programme Managers and a team of two Programme Coordinators in the North West, and will collaborate with the Land-Based Projects and Policy Lead and the Land-based Project Coordinator at the intersection of our youth programmes and land-based work.

With support from your manager and in consultation with the other regional Programme Managers, you will translate our annual programme strategy into a robust cross-regional implementation plan covering both programme design and operations and make tangible improvements to enhance efficiency and impact across our regions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are delivered as planned, to a high standard in line with best practice and cohesively across regions, and that regional objectives and targets in the North West are achieved.

The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and experienced project/programmes manager and team leader with a proven track record of motivating and supporting others to achieve the best possible outcomes for your team and your programmes. 

Key responsibilities

• Lead Action for Conservation’s work in the North West, ensuring that regional targets and objectives are achieved and supporting the expansion of our programmes and projects in line with our organisational strategy.

• Support the cross-regional planning and management of our programmes to ensure that programmes are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard and cohesively across regions. 

• Line manage the other regional Programme Manager and the North West Programme Coordinators, providing leadership, guidance and support as needed.

Connected Futures is Youth Futures’ systems change programme. It aims to foster joined-up solutions to the complex issues and barriers facing disadvantaged young people.

We are looking for a capable, proactive person to support the overall programme management approach for Connected Futures. The Senior Programme Support Officer will support the Head of Programmes to develop and deliver an approach to programme and project management across Connected Futures. The postholder will take the lead on specific tasks, and coordinate the work of the wider cross-organisational Connected Futures team.

You will liaise with external partners and stakeholders, as well as supporting multiple internal customers and workstreams, often to tight deadlines. You will support key external and internal engagement processes, working with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of meetings and capture key decisions and inputs to feed back into programme delivery.

This is primarily a project management role, enabling a cross-functional team to work effectively and efficiently together on a complex, fast-moving and high profile programme. As well as dealing with tasks as they emerge, you will work across the team to keep track of progress, identifying any issues and risks, and enabling the Head of Programmes and other internal stakeholders to gain an overview of the programme as a whole.

This role is fixed term to January 2026 and can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

The Education & Training Manager will be responsible for grant managing the day-to-day aspects of commissioned Education and Training programmes.

They will work with partner organisations to create tailored training plans, and commission education and training programmes to deliver those plans.  They will monitor training program effectiveness, manage related funding budgets, and stay updated on relevant training trends. 

They will support the Head of Education and Training with the ongoing development of GambleAware’s approach to education and training of professionals across the sector and in adjacent sectors. Young Citizens is an education charity on a mission to empower young people to actively engage in society. For over three decades, we’ve been giving young people the tools to understand society’s institutions and tackle its biggest issues. This is a new role that will help Young Citizens ensure that our portfolio of long-standing and newly developed educational programmes and events are of the highest quality for schools and young people across the UK.

You will support the coordination team in delivering a series of events throughout the year, including our longest-running programme, the Bar Mock Trial Competition, which involves 22 events over six consecutive weeks in November. We work with schools, venues, and volunteers to provide inspiring learning experiences and programmes for children and young people.

You will contribute directly to our mission by leading the delivery of our school events programme. This includes responsibility for all aspects of event planning, delivery, and management, partner and volunteer development and management, audience development and evaluation, and events budgeting.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across identified areas within West Kent. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

This post will require extensive travel across the county and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

What will my main duties be?

With the support of the Assistant Director of Operations:

Volunteer recruitment:

• To develop a volunteer recruitment plan to meet programme and organisational need; and to work closely with the corporate partnerships team and programme and regional managers to implement the recruitment plan, for example working with the Heads of Mentoring to implement a university student recruitment plan for the Mentoring programme
• To deliver guidance and training to support local IntoUniversity centres to implement the recruitment plan, including working with universities and community organisations
• To manage volunteer enquiries and national recruitment channels, such as volunteering sites and networks

Volunteer onboarding

• To use the charity’s Salesforce database to manage the volunteer pipeline - from application, to selection and training, to centre allocation
• To manage the process of onboarding steps including application form, training, Safer Recruitment checks, and support local IntoUniversity centres to implement the onboarding process consistently
• To work with the programmes and delivery team to ensure efficient induction takes place and to ensure staff are recording all volunteering activity on Salesforce

Volunteer training

• To implement a high-quality volunteer training programme for regular volunteer roles, including: organisation of a training schedule and staffing; facilitation of training (alongside delivery staff); providing guidance and training to staff to deliver volunteer training; reviewing training resources and facilitation

Volunteer experience:

• To provide support, resources, and training to centre staff and programme managers to ensure quality volunteer management throughout the volunteer lifecycle
• To implement volunteer development and recognition strategies to ensure volunteers feel valued as part of the IntoUniversity team and to support centre teams to build lasting relationships with volunteers to support retention
• To develop best practice in volunteering across IntoUniversity, including reviewing and evaluating current practice in the sector

Internal collaboration

To drive a joined up approach to managing volunteering within the charity, including:

• To work with the HR team to align staff and volunteer policies and processes, and support local teams to implement them consistently across the network
• To work with the Corporate Partnerships team to offer successful corporate volunteer roles
• To work with the Communications team to develop an online presence and resources promoting volunteering

Organisational wide

• To champion diversity and inclusion in your role at all times, referring to the Diversity and Inclusion Staff Responsibilities Guide.
• To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including the Children’s Act, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection Act, Health & Safety and Working with Vulnerable Groups
• To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

The GMHAN is now looking for a new Network Manager to bring together partners to work to drive action and make a difference. Two years ago, the network restructure and bought in a full-time network manager post, now funded by Greater Manchester Mayors Charity and the Lloyds Foundation.

Since this role was initially bought in, the network structure and funding as strengthened, however we are now looking for someone to play a key role in further developing the GMHAN’s strategic role across the region. This includes facilitating full network events, supporting systems change through our network task groups, driving the work of the coordination group and bringing new partners into the network.

This role will have some involvement in new funding applications for additional roles and will be the line manager for the network’s Lived Experience Co-ordinator post.

While the network has an already established structure, we are looking for someone who has their own ideas about how to mobilise partnership working and will feel confident brining their vision to the network, as well as challenging already established ideas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strengthening the Network

• Working to identify, connect with and involve individuals, organisations, communities, funders, and commissioners to help grow the membership of the network.
• Identifying opportunities for the network to influence systems change and mobilising the wider network to respond to these opportunities.
• Supporting the network’s task groups to work in an action focused way, by having strategic oversight of their work, linking them to opportunities and facilitating joined up working between the groups.
• Identifying funding opportunities to continue the work of the network and working with relevant partners to secure funding for the staff roles and other operational costs of the network.

Supporting Co-Production

• Encouraging and facilitating the involvement and leadership of people with personal insight into homelessness at every level by growing and supporting culture shift towards co-production.
• Line management of the network’s Lived Experience Coordinator and working with them give people with lived experience of homelessness opportunities to engage in the network

Communications

• Oversight of network comms to ensure key messages are communicated with the wider network. This includes sending regular newsletters, maintaining the network website and managing social media accounts.
• Coordinating and facilitating full network events, by identifying key contributors and supporting them to share their work.
• Representing the GMHAN at external events and in some cases presenting to a range of stakeholders about the structure and purpose of the network.

Other

• Have overall responsibility for monitoring and evaluation required for funders.
• Carry out other reasonable duties that may be required in the light of the main purpose of the job and as requested by your line manager.
• Follow GTM’s policies and procedures.

About the Greater Manchester Homeless Action Network

The Greater Manchester Homeless Action Network (GMHAN) is a cross-sector partnership that brings together everyone across Greater Manchester working to end rough sleeping and prevent homelessness. This includes a range of sectors and specialisms, such as charities, local authorities, housing providers, faith partners and people with lived experience of homelessness. The GMHAN aims to operate using the principles of co-production and community development, placing people with experience of homelessness in the lead. 

The work of the GMHAN seeks to add value to local networks and build connections at a GM level. This is done by connecting the many smaller local networks, with local and regional public and private sector bodies, including policy makers and politicians, to influence and design policies and programmes that affect the lives of those experiencing/at risk of experiencing homelessness. We do this through large in person events every 3 months aimed at co-designing Greater Manchester’s homelessness policy and showcasing best practice. Our network events focus on different themes (such as the criminal justice system or youth homelessness) and bring together people passionate about that area to share their experiences and form a collective voice to push for social change.

We also run three task groups- Learn, Lobby & Deliver. The groups are a space for action to happen outside of events, where people from all areas can come together to progress this work and identify areas where the network can influence change. All this work feeds into the GM Homelessness Programme Board, where key decisions are made.
