THE ROLE
At a time of unprecedented demand for our services at NEA we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Training and Assessment Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week, the contract is a 2-year fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
As part of NEA’s Development and Partnerships Directorate, you will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.
Acting as course tutor and examiner, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering NEA’s training courses and qualifications to a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations across England and the wider UK. Our courses cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice.
Our Training and Assessment Officers assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications and have the ability to recognise new areas of opportunity; designing, developing and producing engaging and innovative training presentations and material as appropriate, for face-to-face and online delivery of current and future training and assessment products.
This role requires a relevant training or education qualification and recent demonstrable experience of delivering adult training. Ideally, you will also have experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues and/or housing.
The post requires an element of flexibility as Training and Assessment Officers will on occasion be required to work outside of normal office hours and away from home; driving will sometimes be required.
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity deliver its work programme as a major national provider of energy advice services whilst developing and working on projects that bring social benefits and improvements to the well-being of low income and vulnerable householders whilst also meeting environmental goals.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of adult training delivery, course design and development, and hold a relevant training or education qualification.
The right candidate will be engaging with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have sound presentation skills and a creative and structured approach to training delivery.
You will be highly organised, self-motivated and have the ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.
It is important that the successful candidate shares NEA’s core values, and you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and objectives of NEA and the eradication of fuel poverty. Experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues or housing is desirable.
It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have experience of working with vulnerable householders, low-income and/or other disadvantaged groups however, this is not essential.
Home working and office-based locations are available depending on proximity to an NEA office. Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK.
WE ARE OFFERING
- £31,068 – £35,836 per annum (Points 18-25) plus London weighting of £3,300 if applicable. New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.
- 11½% non-contributory pension.
- 25 days annual leave (FTE) plus additional days in between Christmas New Year Period when our offices close; plus all local public holidays (within the region you are based) per annum.

ROLE PURPOSE
This is an exciting new role which will build on an existing programme of supporting patient engagement in research, clinical trial development and clinical trials for lupus at a time of increased interest and activity in this area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery
- Act as the first point of contact for researchers and pharma companies seeking to involve members of the public in their research or trials.
- Work to build a network of patients around the UK with an interest in being involved with PPIE.
- Work with the Health Information Manager to identify and facilitate any support needs of the PPIE network.
- Support and facilitate PPIE in all stages of lupus research.
- Support PPIE in Lupus UK’s research grants process.
- Support engagement with diverse under-served communities.
- Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion considerations in PPIE methods and communications
Other

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working directly with patients and/or members of the public.
- Experience of supporting Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activity.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Experience of working in PPIE within a similar environment (desirable).
- Experience of working within research or the health sector (desirable).
- Experience of working with stakeholders, such as healthcare organisations, public groups,and professional networks (desirable).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A strong understanding of best practice in PPIE within research.
- Knowledge of different types of research and the various stages of the research process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communicationfor diverse audiences.

As well as having our own inhouse Face to Face Fundraising team, we work with circa 4 agencies who provide us with the resource to engage and inspire the public to sign up to monthly donations supporting CRUK. To date, we have generated over £120m from face-to-face fundraising third-party individual giving activity, having a huge impact for our life saving research.
As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you'll be the driving force behind delivering our ambitious fundraising targets in this area, maximising opportunities, working with a range of agencies, stakeholders and your team to deliver our outsourced face to face acquisition programme in the UK, ensuring its success day to day.
You don't need to have worked specifically in the Face-to-Face Fundraising space previously, but you will need to come with experience of managing multiple agency relationships as well as strong stakeholder management skills.

What will I be doing?
Delivering a face to face fundraising acquisition programme via outsourced partners, in line with agreed strategy and targets.
Driving the success of the face to face fundraising acquisition programme, ensuring key performance indicators are met, pro-actively looking for opportunities to improve performance, working collaboratively and alongside our outsourced partners.
Ensuring appropriate training and compliance monitoring of face to face outsourced partner activity is in place, with timely and appropriate remedial action being taken where needed to ensure Cancer Research UK and industry standards are upheld and an excellent supporter experience is offered.
Establishing, developing and maintaining excellent relationships with our suppliers and partners, proactively looking for opportunities to optimise our partnership with outsourced partners, for the benefit of the organisation.
Leading on the troubleshooting of day to day campaign delivery challenges, acting swiftly to implement workable solutions and ways forward, working closely with the F2F Manager - Outsourced Partners, Individual Giving Operations team, and the relevant stakeholders.
Ensuring all operational aspects of campaigns from planning through to execution and analysis are in place and as efficient as possible, putting processes in place to ensure the effective management of campaigns, working with the Individual Giving Operations team and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve this.
Onboarding new suppliers as required, and managing existing relationships through contracts, performance, monitoring compliance and service level agreements, working closely with the Face to Face Manager - Outsourced Partners.
What are you looking for?
Relevant experience of managing agency relationships, contract management, managing performance, meeting or exceeding key performance indicators ( Face to Face agencies would be beneficial but isn't essential).
Experience of working in a heavily regulated environment and ability to get up to speed with current fundraising regulation.
Relevant experience of planning, delivery and analysis of end to end project activity or campaigns (fundraising or face to face would be beneficial).
Flexible approach, with an ability to work successfully in a dynamic operating environment.
Proactive approach to problem solving with ability to manage several projects at any one time.

METRO work closely with our partner Spectra to deliver sexual health services in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond, Merton, Kingston (South West London). In these Boroughs, METRO deliver the Come Correct free condom scheme (C-card), the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) as well as Get It, an online scheme which offers condoms, lube, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screens.
METRO also delivers training and education, aimed at both young people and professionals working with young people, as well as community outreach and engagement to reach young people directly- particularly those who are most vulnerable to sexual ill health.
Our South West London services are supported by a sexual health office, and is linked to a team of sexual health workers who deliver similar sexual health services in different boroughs and counties.

Main purpose of the post:
To develop and deliver our marketing and communications plans to engage with customers and key audiences including educators and students, supporters, partners and staff.
- Work with the Director of Global Engagement to define the focused marketing and communications plans that will support the ESU’s corporate strategy and objectives. Define key audiences and work across all channels, including digital, search, social media, email, print, and PR.
- Work closely with the Education function to develop and deliver integrated, audience-first marketing campaigns that use the most appropriate channels to drive engagement with the ESU and sales of our education programmes.

Your Role: Senior Grants Manager
We are looking for a motivated person to join our grant team for six months to support us in our efforts to harness opportunities for small charities in the UK through funding, learning and development opportunities, awareness-raising activities and in-kind donations. This exciting projects-led role will help the team deliver several strategic projects. You will:
Lead the delivery of a new initiative for Small Charity Week 2025 (23-27th June) - partnering with Big Give and NCVO to deliver an exciting match-funding campaign. Working to a high level of independence, you will utilise your expertise in the grantee selection, running decision-making panels, grant management, and evaluation of grants, as well as help optimise the campaign’s delivery, and impact through charity/beneficiary storytelling.
Support the Head of Grants and Impact to deliver an engaging and impactful Learning and Development Programme to facilitate collaboration, connection and learning amongst small charities professionals.
As a member of the Grants Team, contribute to the other key deliverables for the year working together with internal and external stakeholders to innovate and deliver outstanding activities.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Selection and Decision-Making:
- Own the coordinate and participate in the partnership panel(s) to complete the second stage of the grant selection and decision-making process.
- Ensure funding is distributed equitably across geographic regions, cause areas, and underrepresented communities, aligned with the partners’ funding priorities.
Grantee Relationship Management:
- Act as point person for grantees and address queries efficiently and equitably post funding distribution
Impact Measurement and Reporting:
- Contribute to the creation of the evaluation report, capturing key insights and outcomes, including narrative and quantitative data.
Storytelling and Communications:
- Identify and source impactful stories from grantees for Small Charity Week marketing and communications campaign activities.
- Input and advice on strategies to maximise the engagement of grantees in storytelling while respecting their resource constraints.
Managing Learning and Development Opportunities:
- Work collaboratively with partners and GMSN’s internal team to deliver meaningful and engaging learning and development opportunities for GMSN grantees.
Administrative and Financial Oversight:
- Ensure all grants are accurately recorded in Salesforce or other systems as required.
- Coordinate with GMSN’s finance team to oversee timely disbursement of funding payments and reimbursements to grantees.
- Oversee the scheduling, sign-up, travel and accommodation arrangements for charities attending learning and development opportunities.

Purpose of Post
The Membership and Events Lead will play a pivotal role in our membership programme and the events calendar that supports our membership offering. Working alongside the Membership and Events Manager the post holder will deliver the membership engagement strategy, help to recruit and retain new members and work on AAUK events.
Key events include the Annual Conference and Awards of Excellence, All Party Parliamentary Group Air Ambulance Reception and attendance at sector specific exhibitions. The current membership portfolio includes local air ambulance charities, air ambulance suppliers and other key stakeholders who support the air ambulance community.
Key Responsibilities
Events
· In collaboration with the Membership and Events Manager and the wider team, work towards the successful delivery of a calendar of events, taking ownership and accountability of any assigned events.
· Help to develop the sponsorship pipeline for key events in collaboration with other key members of the Income Generation team to ensure all opportunities for sponsorship are maximised.
· Conduct research and planning for UK events, covering areas such as venues, suppliers, routes and risk assessments.
· Assist with the management of finances for assigned events, negotiating best rates with suppliers, placing orders and processing invoices.
· Lead on selected events and work effectively with colleagues on project groups to deliver successful events. Prepare event briefs and support with marketing materials.
· Project management of other AAUK events and attendance at other relevant stakeholder events.
· Acting as a point of contact for when required to attend stakeholder events.
Membership
· Serve as the primary point of contact for active members and prospects, building and nurturing long-lasting relationships.
· Create and manage a membership pipeline. Steward, and pitch to prospective new members from this pipeline.
· Effectively promote membership benefits and ensure they are utilised across the membership.
· To assist in the running of AAUK knowledge sharing and networking forums.
Members Hub
· Produce and manage engaging content for members on the AAUK Membership Hub.
Other
· Be flexible and carry out any other associated duties that may arise, develop, or be assigned.
· Report and present to the AAUK Board when necessary.
· Support and promote diversity and equality of opportunity in the workplace.
· Comply with legal requirements for income generation general activities including GDPR, The Fundraising Code of Practice and others.

About the team
The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of the five departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. The directorate generates over £48m gross income each year, of which a high percentage is unrestricted.
Our Corporate Partnerships team is split into two areas - New Partnerships which generates income by securing new relationships with private sector businesses, and the Partnership Management team, where this role sits, is responsible for the growth of Shelter’s voluntary income by managing and developing existing corporate partnerships spanning a variety of sectors.
