The Role
Recovery and Connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Recovery and Connect Worker will work intensively with a caseload of individuals identified by the HomeFirst alliance, who have a pre-existing mental health concern and to support them to access ongoing community services. The role will involve working as part of a team aligned to the shared care forum to support vulnerable service users.
About You
With a minimum of 2 years community experience of mental health, wellbeing, or behaviour change work with adults, you will also have:
• The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary).
• An understanding of confidentiality, consent, information sharing, including GDPR.
• An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.
• Good communication and written skills and a commitment to accurate and confidential record keeping.
• The ability to interact effectively with the clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.
• The ability to work to all the policies, procedures, and standards of the service and joint working arrangements with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

The Project
GPIMHS is an emotional and wellbeing service that supports adults aged over 18 in primary care who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Patients are offered extended consultation times, quick and easy access to practical advice and tailored support for their mental health needs from a multidisciplinary team.
Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, the Lived Experience Practitioner will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. As an integral and highly valued member of the team, the Lived Experience Practitioner will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using the service in order for them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey.
In particular, the Lived Experience Practitioner will support the smooth transition of people using the service to other Mental Health services, by helping them to complete recovery and crisis plans for example. Within a relationship of mutuality and information sharing, they will promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.
The Role
You will make lives better by utilising your lived experience of mental illness or of caring for somebody who has mental health problems. In this Peer Support role, you will contribute to the care and recovery of people using GPIMHS (General Practice Integrated Mental Health Service) and MHICS (Mental Health Integrated Community Services), and help to ensure an accessible, non-stigmatising localised service.
About You
Skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications required:
- Lived experience of mental illness or of caring for somebody who has mental health problems.
- Experience accessing primary and / or secondary mental health services.
- Paid or unpaid experience of working in a lived experience role.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office, and willingness to use the Organisation’s IT systems.
- Experience of recovering a meaningful life.
- Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role.
- Understanding and knowledge of recovery, of the issues and concerns of mental health service users, and of the impact of stigma and discrimination.
- Understanding and knowledge of trauma informed care, and ability to use trauma informed care principles to benefit yourself and others.
- Knowledge and commitment to service user rights.
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary teams.

What will I be doing?

Be the CRUK subject matter expert. Build and maintain a deep understanding of developments in involvement to position yourself and CRUK as a thought leader in this space.
Working with leaders across CRUK to create opportunities for those close to cancer to get involved in our core activity. Influence via robust personal relationships combined with evidence-based insights.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work alongside psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide person centered, therapeutic support that empowers individuals on their journey to recovery. You’ll play a key role in promoting harm reduction strategies, fostering resilience, and helping residents rebuild their lives in a supportive and psychologically informed environment.
Penrose Lewisham ICRS: The Service which runs 24 hours a day. It provides specialist enhanced rehabilitation support to adults typically aged between 18 and 65 who are diagnoses with severe and enduring mental health needs, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. The service operates across two properties in Lewisham, one with eight self-contained rooms and the other with six, both within close proximity to each other. Each site is staffed 24/7 by a minimum of two Mental Health Recovery Workers (MHRWs), including Shift Leads to support the Management Team.
Shift Pattern: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours vary on rota 09:00 - 17:00 face to face in service.
Salary: £18,900
What are we looking for from a Substance Misuse/ Dual Diagnosis Worker?
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse and challenging behaviours
- Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software

Public Health for the City and Hackney are recruiting for a post that will deliver an outreach service that will focus on engaging rough sleepers in both boroughs and help them to access services. This is a 12-month Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Improvement grant funded post based in the STEPS (supporting Transitions and Empowering People Service) team.
As a STEPS Rough Sleeper Navigator, you will be responsible for implementing a range of interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support under the direction of the STEPS Team Leader. STEPS is part of the Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) coalition, which helps local areas design and deliver better coordinated services for people experiencing multiple disadvantage.
You will undertake a creative and intensive outreach approach to engage rough sleepers and utilise a broad range of highly developed specialist skills, alongside a high level of professional autonomy. The post holder will have the ability to adapt to shifting demands and priorities and lead on named areas of work related to the development of the Hackney and City Initiative.
You will be a big part of a small team, where everyone takes a flexible and collaborative approach to work and is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable and marginalised groups. Like STEPS, you will be passionate about changing entrenched social issues and will respond by ‘doing things differently’. You will play an integral part of a team where everyone takes an energetic, flexible and collaborative approach to their work and may be required to contribute to other programmes and work areas across the Public Health Team.
The following criteria is essential for this post:
• A relevant professional or vocational qualification (e.g. nursing, social work, mental health, education, criminal justice, youth work, therapeutic or equivalent)
• Extensive experience of working with adults experiencing multiple disadvantages: substance dependency, enduring mental health conditions, homelessness and involvement in the criminal justice system.
• Experience and knowledge of trauma informed practice
• Experience of case management including assessments, care planning and reviews with clients with intersecting needs
• Knowledge of adult safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures

About The Role
We are seeking an individual to successfully provide technical AV support to deliver events at the Society.
Working within an experienced Venue team, including a Senior AV Technician and with freelance support available, the post-holder will deliver and manage AV requirements for a mix of Society and Venue Hire clients.
The AV Technician is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of in-person and hybrid daytime and evening events, providing technical expertise across an array of streaming platforms.
High quality professional AV performance is central to the delivery of our annual schedule of over 700 events and the post-holder will ensure that the highest standard of quality is met in all areas.

- Support people who are struggling with medication concordance between the hours of 8am to 8pm 7 days a week
- Complete home visits to observe customers take medication in the borough of Lambeth- Brixton, Streatham, West Norwood, Kennington, Clapham, Oval, and Vauxhall
- Able to lone work in the community- Using available forms of transport to complete home visits.
- Support people who are stepping down to more independence. This could be from registered to lower support accommodation; people returning to their homes after prolonged hospital admission.
Key Support Working:
- You will work with clients diagnosed with a mental health condition and living within the borough of Lambeth in their own homes.
- Your role as a support worker is to enable the customer to develop greater independence and fulfilling lives.
- As part of your role, you will be required to oversee all Support planning and Risk management plans and maintain contact with the customers on an agreed basis.
