Salary: Circa £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)

This pivotal role within our charity ensures the effective management of our grant programmes, designs new programmes and initiatives, and determines funding needs to maximise our impact. Reporting directly to our CEO, the Director of Programmes & Funding works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including trustees, hospital partners, and other health funders. You will play a crucial role in developing and aligning our funding strategies with our mission to advance care for those affected by heart and lung diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Funding & Programme development: Lead the design and development of funding programmes, working with hospital partners and external funders to identify and create new funding opportunities that align with our strategic goals and meet the needs of heart and lung patients.

• Senior Leadership Contribution: Provide leadership across the charity, contributing to organisational development, decision-making, and supporting the CEO in leading the charity’s strategic direction.

• Team Management: Lead the Grants team, overseeing the planning and management of workloads, and ensuring high standards of support and development within the team.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with trustees and hospital leadership, representing the charity in external meetings, and supporting the CEO in organisational leadership.

• Programme Oversight: Manage the charity’s grant processes, including strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation, to ensure impactful and efficient funding.

• Governance & Compliance: Oversee risk management in relation to funding, and ensure our grant schemes are compliant with charity law, governance standards, public sector financial guidance, and our aim to achieve membership of the Association of Medical Research Charities

Summary of What We’re Looking For:

• Substantial experience in leading programmes and funding functions, within a relevant not-for-profit setting (eg hospital or healthcare charity).

• Proven ability in managing and reporting the impact of charitable programmes to senior stakeholders and boards / committees.

• Deep understanding of the healthcare context, including political context, research and innovation environments, partnered with an understanding of the charity landscape.

• Strong strategic thinking with excellent leadership skills and experience in managing and developing others.

• Educated to at least degree level in a relevant field (such as biomedical science) or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and synthesise technical medical information to specialists and non-specialists.

The ideal candidate will hold an advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in biomedical sciences or a related field, complemented by proven experience in enhancing Programme and Funding operations within a relevant organisation. They would also demonstrate a track record of contributing to organisational strategy.

Role Description

We are looking for a senior leader, with extensive experience in education project and/or programme management, who can lead a fast-growing team within a mission-driven organisation. You will be a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, in particular working closely with the interim CEO, the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Impact and the charity’s Senior Programmes Leaders. You will have direct exposure to the Board of Trustees and the unique opportunity to fundamentally shape the organisation and its direction.

The Chief Programmes Officer will be responsible for all aspects of programme delivery, including providing strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the programmes delivery team, business development and stakeholder management with new partners in further education, and reviewing and improving delivery across all our programmes. You will work closely with the Director of Impact to refine and implement our approach to programme quality and impact to ensure we are providing the most effective programmes for the students we support. You will play a leadership role in the overall direction of the charity and work with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to ensure that the systems, processes, and ways of working for the Programmes Team are in place to ensure effective programme delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

• Working closely with the CEO, the Chief Operations Officer and the Director of Impact to provide overall leadership for the organisation, deliver the organisation’s new five-year strategy, and embed its values.
• Regularly updating the board on programme delivery and developments through participation in full Board and subcommittee meetings.
• Deputising for the CEO as needed, internally or externally, representing Get Further in public forums, with senior stakeholders, and with external organisations.

Business development and sales:

• Planning, leading and engaging in sales activity to ensure Get Further meets its goals for growth in terms of college partnerships and student numbers and secures new partnerships in key regions and areas for expansion.
• Line managing Senior Programmes Leaders, supporting their development and the delivery of KPIs with regards to college sales and renewals.
• Working closely with the Senior Marketing and Communications Officer to ensure a joined-up and impactful approach to sales and marketing, including through conference attendance and participation, social media, webinars.

Programme delivery:

• Strategic leadership of the Programmes Team (currently a team of 10 full-time staff), including ensuring that the team has the culture, working environment and professional development opportunities to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver high quality programmes and to meet our delivery KPIs.
• Overseeing efficient delivery of every aspect of each programme cycle, from liaising with the Chief Operations Officer to set and ensure achievement of targets for recruiting and training tutors, to leading the team to deliver on tuition logistics (including clear and timely student, tutor and college communications), and reporting on our impact to our partners in further education, ensuring programmes are high-quality and impactful for students and partners.
• Identifying and rolling out developments to programme delivery that help to improve our ways of working at scale, to enable the team to deliver now and in the future.

Programme quality and impact:

• Working closely with Get Further’s Director of Impact and the wider Impact Team to develop and deliver our processes for monitoring and evaluating the impact of our programmes, including communicating our results with existing and potential partners in further education to support the charity to meet its wider objectives.
• Ensuring Get Further’s approach to curriculum, assessment and tutor training continue to develop and improve with insights from our impact data, including line management of our Maths and English Curriculum Managers.
• Holding the relationship with Get Further’s subject advisory groups.

External relationships:

• Building relationships and our brand across the further education, charity and policy sectors.
• Leading on the delivery of a FE Advisory Group that provides advice and guidance to the charity to ensure programme delivery continues to move from strength to strength.
• Supporting with fundraising and advocacy as needed.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

• A deep interest and commitment to Get Further’s mission, including the drive to expand our work and the ability to articulate and pitch our programmes authentically.
• An excellent track record of sales within the education sector (minimum two years’ experience of directly selling programmes within education) and skilled in designing and delivering business development plans and/or marketing strategies.
• Extensive experience in leading and improving programme delivery, including the ability to galvanise colleagues to reach annual KPIs.
• Organisational and project management skills, to plan and make strategic decisions to prioritise and optimise time and budget.
• Successful leadership and management of a diverse and growing team, supporting personal development of team members and developing colleagues to foster high performance.
• A confident communicator who enjoys building networks, influencing, and promoting programmes passionately, with the ability to adapt content, tone and delivery of written and oral communications to the needs of the audience.

We are looking for a Giggle Doctor Programme Administrator to join our busy programme team, to support the day-to-day operations of our Giggle Doctor programme for hospitals.

This is a part-time, one-year contract to support the running of the Giggle Doctor programme while a member of the team is on maternity leave. We are flexible as to which days are worked, providing that the post-holder has a fixed working pattern over a minimum of 3 days per week. This post requires work from the office as well as some work from home. We will provide training to the successful candidate on how to fulfil the key tasks of the role.

Job Description

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Administration

· Act as first point of call for artists regarding their visits to hospitals, overseeing sickness, cover and changes to their schedules

· Support artists with hospital administration and contracts

· Keep artists updated with changes in Theodora Children’s Charity’s policies

· Process changes to the Giggle Doctor schedule on our internal systems

· Liaise with hospitals and keep them up to date with information about their programme of Giggle Doctor visits

· Set up meetings with hospitals, artists and Theodora Foundation colleagues as required

· Book long-distance travel and hotels for artists for hospital visits and training events when required

· Support the Finance Manager and Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with collecting and filing timesheets, invoices and receipts for payment

Training and Events

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with events, including booking rooms, resources and catering

· Attend training events for Giggle Doctors, setting up and packing down as needed

Impact and Programme Monitoring

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with monitoring Trainee and Junior Giggle Doctor’s progress and keeping records of their observation notes

· Support the Giggle Doctor Programme Manager with data capture and record keeping

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of policies and practices managing projects with the FCDO and DEC. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.

The Humanitarian Programme Manager is responsible for the overall management for a portfolio of programmes across the programme management lifecycle from the contracting stage to close out. The successful candidate leads the relationship with donors, working with country offices and technical teams to ensure programmes are delivered in line with CARE International strategies and procedures, and in compliance with donor requirements. The team is looking for a talented individual to support our portfolio projects through excellent contract and finance management.  You will have knowledge of donor compliance and donor reporting and will provide integrated programme delivery, contract, and compliance expertise throughout the project cycle: from implementation plan set up to reporting and close out. Our small but expert team works alongside people with lived experience, the tech industry, government and regulators as well as academics and practitioners to maximise the potential of positive content in the online environment and minimise the risk of harmful suicide and self-harm content.

About the Role:

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted, person-centred interventions for individuals within SHP’s Camden Adult Pathway Hostels. Your role will involve holding a designated caseload and working closely with the wider client group through our in-house recovery programme. With a strong focus on harm minimisation, dual diagnosis, and strengths/recovery frameworks, you’ll help to empower service users to make positive changes and progress towards independence.

This is a unique role that requires you to build relationships of trust with service users, many of whom have faced significant barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use, and complex trauma. Your support will enable them to access crucial assessments, interventions, and treatments, enhancing their ability to utilise external statutory and community resources. You will also provide guidance and best practice standards to Project Workers, helping to set a benchmark of excellence in delivering complex needs support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist interventions and personalised support for service users, including those with complex needs such as mental health issues, substance use, and physical health challenges.
• Develop and implement person-centred support plans, monitor individual progress, and ensure best practice is adhered to within the service.
• Work dynamically with service managers, project workers, and other professionals within the Camden Accommodation Pathway to deliver tailored interventions and improve outcomes for service users.
• Foster proactive working relationships with Adult Social Care, Health, Mental Health, and other specialist providers to improve access and opportunities for service users.
• Advocate for service users with experience of rough sleeping, helping them access the necessary assessment, intervention, and treatment to achieve recovery and maintain stability.
• Facilitate group work and support the in-house recovery programme, promoting a holistic approach to recovery and independence.

About You:

• Demonstrable experience working with individuals facing homelessness or complex needs, such as mental health challenges, substance use, and physical health issues. Experience in residential or accommodation-based services is a plus.
• A strong understanding of the health and social care sector, including how to navigate between and across specialties. A deep understanding of the barriers service users face on their journey towards independence, such as domestic violence, anger management, and learning impairments.
• Excellent person-centred engagement skills, group work facilitation, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. Strong team-working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
• The ability to create, develop, and implement support plans, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and maintain high standards.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.

STEP provides a bespoke employment programme that addresses the complex barriers that refugees face when preparing for, and ultimately finding work in the UK.   We now have an exciting opportunity for Team Managers to join the STEP team, to oversee a team of 15 to 20 Remote Employment Advisors who provide employment support to refugee clients across the UK.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an immigration adviser to lead our dynamic immigration advice team and help shape the future of the programme as part of the senior management team at a fast-growing charity in London.
