As Campaigns and Communications Manager you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of all PINF campaigns and communications. Acting as a key ambassador for PINF, you will support the Executive Director to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and to increase the profile of PINF and the indie news sector in the UK. You will work alongside the Executive Director and other staff to contribute to PINF's overall strategy and operational plan, and help to translate these into innovative campaigns and clear and compelling communications which support our overall vision.

You will have the following skills and attributes: 

• Advocacy. You should be able to develop and deliver an effective campaign, drawing on your excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK’s political framework to build effective working relationships with Ministers, MPs and Peers, members of the devolved administrations, civil servants and regulators. 

• Communications. You should be able to use your outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including copy-writing and public speaking, to draft and deliver compelling content including speeches, consultation responses, blog posts and comment pieces. 

• Media. You should be able to engage effectively with print, digital and broadcast journalists, and manage PINF’s social media channels. 

• Policy. You should be able to distil complex policy issues into clear and compelling positions by drawing on internal and external research. You do not have to be a sector specialist when you start the role, (though you should be able to build your knowledge and understanding rapidly) but you  will have a track record of the design and delivery of campaigns which create awareness, engage the wider public and/or strive to change policy.

• Partnerships. You should be able to build a coalition of organisations and individuals, drawing on your skill for effective working relationships and your instinct for collaboration to engage and empower people from all backgrounds and experiences. 

• Management. You should have experience of managing campaigns and projects. Experience of managing organisers or other staff would be a bonus.

• Strategy. You should have experience of developing strategy, such as a Strategic Communications Plan and/or working collaboratively to shape and inform organisational strategy and operational plans.

• Administration. You should be able to stay on top of your workload by using relevant software (including Microsoft Office, e-campaigning tools and content management systems), keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and prioritising between competing tasks.

The Regional Business Development Manager is a central part of the Southern Africa Regional team and will play a key role in helping to expand WaterAid's funding portfolio as well as building regional intelligence, positioning WaterAid's work in our key thematic areas (such as health and climate), and proposal development. The role will partner with country teams in the region, fundraising specialists, and technical experts across WaterAid as well as externally with donors and partners to develop a multi-year pipeline of opportunities and implementing a strategy for business development. The postholder will be a strategic thinker, who is able to challenge and mentor country funding teams to appraise opportunities critically and to produce consistent, compelling proposals and funding strategies; and to deliver on targets. This will focus on ensuring WaterAid is well positioned within key donor and consortium partner networks in the region as a "go to" partner for long term sustainable WASH programming.

Key accountabilities among others include:

Strategy

• Support country programmes in developing fundraising, donor and consortium partner strategies from a deep understanding of how to position WA's programmes within the current donor marketplace.
• Contribute to overall new business strategy in collaboration with country teams, Senior Program Development Manager and Regional Director, assessing regional performance against Key Performance Indicators and annual revenue targets.

Pipeline development and management:

• Be responsible for growing and monitoring the pipeline of relevant funding opportunities to WA country programmes, coordinating with fundraising members to communicating donor intelligence, ensuring a balanced portfolio of funding types and ambition.
• Provide strategic support to the sign on of larger funding opportunities, ensuring that WA country teams are supported to negotiate favourable positions within consortia and are able to effectively assess and mitigate for delivery risk.
• Support the improvement of cost recovery in restricted funding contracts through supporting country teams to communicate and negotiate with donors and holding CPs to account for cost recovery KPIS.

Funding skills and capabilities development:

• Monitor the fundraising skills, capabilities and investment levels within country teams, and support the development of both funding focused roles and the capability of country SMTs to engage with donors and develop funding propositions
• Play a leading role in co-creating and embedding business processes, systems, and policies for restricted funding
• Build confidence in pursuing different funding modalities, including commercial contracts through accompanying country teams in the development of complex and novel bidding approaches (with the support of global teams and consultants)

Leadership and Line management

• Responsible for working with a high-performing team of country Heads of Funding and Donor Relationship Leads across the globe. The RBDM will contribute to strategic and operational planning processes; define and deliver an agreed set of team performance targets; and providing guidance, coaching and support in helping peers achieve optimum performance.
• The RBDM will contribute towards establishing the core new business processes of the team and will lead on and ensure effective linkages with other key stakeholders
• Identify specialist training needs in the region and source relevant expertise from Programme Funding and Partnerships team (PFP) and other external avenues to address the capacity needs in the region.

To be successful, you will need the following:

• Master's Degree level qualification in international development, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors such as USAID, EC, UK Government, International Financial Institutions such as the WB, AfDB, local and international corporates, trust and foundations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation etc.
• Substantial experience and knowledge of the institutional funding space and a deep understanding of bilateral and multilateral donors' routes to market
• Solid experience building partnerships to facilitate opportunities in consortium contracting and negotiating the position of WA in those consortia
• Demonstrable track record of developing and delivering on strategies for restricted income growth.
• Strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results
• Ability to work in a flexible and agile way to identify opportunities and address challenges
• Ability to take complex information and simplify for audiences

Covering the operational, strategic and delivery of work we are looking for a Project Development Co-ordinator to operate across the South-East, within Kent or with the ability to travel across Kent. Travel within and occasionally outside the regions will be a necessity. 

This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to supervise, deliver and lead on our stakeholder and community engagement across a region to support the delivery of NEA’s work programme.  The role will help deliver projects that can change lives, particularly during the energy crisis.  NEA’s project work aims to bring improvements to the health and wellbeing of low income and vulnerable householders, through one-to-one advice, group awareness sessions, upskilling and sharing of best practice.

Delivering on a range or projects, which demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders, you will understand and drive the development of partnerships working with local authorities, housing providers, and various other partners.

 You will oversee the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, delivering energy and fuel debt advice directly to householders and be responsible for the preparation of reports to funders including collation of evidence of outcomes achieved; maintaining relationships with a network of stakeholders across a region. 

You will also work with the Project Development Manager to identify and develop new programmes of work, including preparation of funding applications, presentation of funding proposals to relevant funding bodies and to ensure effective liaison of NEA’s work programme with other activities within NEA.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED 

You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.

It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.

You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.

You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives;

Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable.

The Interim Financial Controller sits within a Finance Team, which provides the full range of financial support, reporting and services across Conciliation Resources to support the efficient and effective running of the organisation and the delivery of its work.

Job Purpose 

The Financial Controller has responsibility for the maintenance of business processes and controls, expenditure and balance sheet transactions. He/she also works with the rest of the Finance Team and other teams to ensure smooth and timely project and statutory audits. The Interim Financial Controller will provide cover for this role while the postholder is on maternity leave. 

Scope and Accountability

The Organisational Support team provides support to all parts of Conciliation Resources in the areas of financial management, personnel (HR) management, fundraising, information and communications technology, facilities and organisational communications. 

The post-holder works closely with others in the Finance Team and other staff across Conciliation Resources as well as our organisational partners. This is a key role in both delivering and developing our financial controls framework, processes and procedures and being able to respond to and resolve problems. The Interim Financial Controller will also have line management responsibilities.

Person Specification

Essential 

• Experience in managing projects funded by the European Union, FCDO and other donors, including donor relationship management, programme development and narrative and budget reporting. 

• Qualified Accountant (CCAB) with substantial experience of working in an accounting function 

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of internal controls and finance & accounting processes 

• Proven experience of managing month end and year end processes including audits 

• Substantial experience of balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules for audits 

• Experience of managing a purchase ledger and payments function within a busy finance function

The Festival Engagement Manager manages the development and delivery of content for the British Science Festival, Europe’s longest running science festival. They create unique events and cultural experiences which are relevant to our target audience of younger adults who are underrepresented in science. The Manager also supports on the delivery of projects for the UK Science Festivals Network (UKSFN), including managing the ‘Making Connections’ project which aims to engage young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds with science and research.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the UK Science Festivals sector and experience of developing content for festivals or large-scale events. You will have experience of working with scientists and researchers to co-develop content for events and of developing content for audiences who are underrepresented in science or who see science as not for them. You will have excellent project management and planning skills.

Travel to the Festival location will be required for this post, including one week on-site during the Festival (September).

We are delighted to be recruiting for a part time Volunteer & Work Experience Co-ordinator to work at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. This is a fixed term contract until 31st December 2025, working 25 hours per week, or approximately 3 days. 

The role

The purpose of the Volunteer & Work Experience Co-ordinator role is to build a team of volunteers from the Royal Hospital Chelsea community, veteran community (including spouses of Service personnel) and wider area to support the activities in our new Visitor, Outreach and Heritage Centre. Working closely with our Volunteer Manager, the Co-ordinator will organise volunteer recruitment days and events to acknowledge and thank volunteers for their invaluable contribution.

The successful candidate will also develop a work experience programme for young people. This includes internships, opportunities for Master’s students to undertake project based work, rolling work experience opportunities and events for local people to engage with the Royal Hospital’s heritage.

The post-holder will sit within the new Audience Engagement team, working closely with volunteers and partners, such as Chelsea Pensioner tour and museum guides, other universities offering heritage programmes, local secondary schools and academies, and the project’s design team.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of PR & Media, the role will help deliver key national media campaigns that call for change to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke and raise the profile of our stroke research.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Managing the team to deliver a proactive, effective and 24/7 press office, building relationships with identified media and opinion formers, and ensure timely media responses based on organisational and reputational priorities.

· Working with the Campaigns and Public Affairs team to plan and deliver influencing activity to key stakeholders, Stroke Association campaigners and the general public.

· Working with the Research Communications team to lead the PR approach in promoting grant opportunities, new research and responding to media enquiries.

About You

You will have experience of:

· Drafting, executing and monitoring PR plans against identified briefs and overarching objectives, to deliver strategic communications objectives and to promote specific campaigns

· Managing productive long-term relationships with news and health journalists in the national media

· Working with Policy and Research functions to deliver sustained media coverage, with a strong call to action, ideally in the healthcare sector

· Producing robust and integrated media campaign evaluations

· Working effectively and independently with external agencies and partner organisations (e.g. NHS England)
