Job summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will work closely with the Chief Officer (CO) to grow the business activities of Headway Black Country (HBC).
The BDM's core purpose is to work with the CO, members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board of Trustees to identify and develop new business and funding opportunities, to enable HBC to meet our charitable objectives, specifically regarding the key themes of:
- Providing support: Offering practical advice, emotional support, and rehabilitation services to individuals who have experienced a brain injury, as well as their families and caregivers.
- Raising awareness: Increasing public understanding and awareness of brain injuries, their causes, and the impact they can have on individuals and their families.
- Promoting independence: Helping individuals with brain injuries to regain their independence, develop skills, and improve their quality of life through various programs and services.
You will provide support to the CO in the identification of opportunities, development, and submission of proposals, and managing the bid/tender processes from scoping through to implementation:
- To secure income from a range of sources to support the Strategic and Business Plans of Headway Black Country.
- To lead on the development of a range of new business opportunities.
- To build relationships with a range of key stakeholders to better position the organisation.
KEY TASKS
- Gain a full understanding of all areas of Headway Black Country to enable post-holder to identify and develop new opportunities.
- To undertake a market analysis to identify opportunities for growth, and to lead on the development of appropriate business products and services as agreed with the CO.
- To identify opportunities for service development through new funding streams, partnership, and commissioning opportunities.
- To lead on the management and preparation of funding bids, tenders, business proposals.
- Coordinate the implementation of agreed new projects and help to develop monitoring plans, and co-ordinating reporting arrangements.
- To develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders providing funding to charities to raise awareness and promote HBC within the Region.
- Build relationships and partnerships and pursue funding avenues to realise new service activity in line with HBC charitable objectives.
- Implement and lead HBC Fundraising Committee and developing the organisation's funding strategy with the Chief Officer and Board of Trustees.
- Input into the website/ marketing materials to include new and potential development ideas.
- Collaborate and work as part of the management team on agreeing what Business Development Plans progress/ track and communicate progress and recommendations.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Possess a proven track record (2 to 3 years or more) of leading successful applications to grant makers and charitable trusts.
- Have experience in corporate fundraising and donor stewardship.
- Have experience of a broad variety of business/ fundraising opportunities relevant to the charitable sector.
- Have proven experience of developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders to deliver tangible results.
Other Duties
- To attend appropriate training sessions and meetings, as required.
- To contribute to monitoring and audit procedures to assess and review the effectiveness of all services and the benefits to clients.
- To actively promote Headway Black Country, the services provided by the organisation, its mission statement, aims and objectives.

About the Role
The Retail & E-Commerce Manager will be responsible for creating a seamless digital shopping experience and online customer journey that creates loyalty through best- in-class customer service and by providing a range of gifts that meet the needs of current and future members and supporters. They will effectively manage the performance of the retail operations, ensuring net profit is maximized in line with Mothers’ Union strategic objectives and values. You are an experienced retail professional with a proven track record of delivering growth of retail sales across multiple channels. Working knowledge of managing a shopify retail business is essential along with experience in retail buying. Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern
This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

As Team Leader Care (TL) you will work as part of the care leadership team. Working under the Senior Care Team Leaders (STL) you will provide direct care and leadership to members of the team, overseeing the delivery of safe, high quality care to the children and their families. You will also provide direct line management to a named group of staff and a caseload of children and their families.
To be successful you will be/have:
• RSCN – RN Child (or RGN with substantial paediatric palliative care experience and willing to undertake further learning in this field)
• Clinical experience and competence, including extensive post qualification experience working with children/adults with a life limiting / life threatening condition, including at end of life, chronic illness or disability in a variety of settings; acute, community.
• Leadership and management experience, with lead responsibility for a shift, ward, department or team

Working with young people in a variety of educational settings, St. Giles’ SOS+ Service delivers early intervention work, through one-to-one mentoring and preventative sessions on violence, vulnerability and exploitation. The mission of SOS+ is to prevent children and young people becoming involved in gangs and youth violence by equipping them with tools, knowledge and support delivered by experts with lived experience.
About this key role
Our successful candidate will assess referred clients, with reference to St Giles Trust assessment practices, offering support to up to 20 young people per year, who are identified by local partners as most at need of support. You will produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, plus deliver a holistic support service, working independently or with colleagues as the situation dictates, which will involve providing practical guidance on areas such social and housing support, education, training and employment options, and benefits work.
We will count on you to develop and maintain strong relationships with referral and partner agencies, including police, Youth Offending Teams, Probation, local authorities and social services, while closing cases efficiently and positively, identifying a survival plan for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for on-going support is also a key aspect of this role.
What we are looking for
- To have worked on an offender-led support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of Greater Manchester
- Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
- Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people
- To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
- Knowledge of the local community, its projects and services available to young people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Surviving Economic Abuse is a small but mighty charity that is already making waves in dealing with one of society’s biggest issues: economic abuse, a devastating form of domestic abuse.
The charity is looking for a Media and Communications Manager (maternity cover) to help its work to stop economic abuse forever.
You would be joining the charity at an exciting time. In this role, you would lead on delivering the charity’s press office function and manage the charity’s annual Economic Abuse Awareness Day campaign.
As part of this role, you will also work closely with survivors to land high-profile media coverage to raise awareness about economic abuse and support our work influencing the new government. As well as line-manage the Communications Officer and oversee their work delivering the charity’s social media communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Lead the delivery of the strategy, track progress and report risks and opportunities to senior leadership team.
- Brand management and development. Maintain and evolve the charity's brand identity. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Social media management. Plan, schedule and create content for multiple channels. Ensure timely publication and distribution of content. Develop and manage social media content and campaigns. Monitor social media engagement and analytics to refine campaigns.
- Digital marketing. Lead the development of all digital marketing to achieve audience reach and income targets.
- Analytics & analysis. Track and analyse the performance of campaigns by monitoring relevant analytics. Use data to adjust strategies and improve outcomes. Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure we maximise reach. Develop routine end of campaign analytical reviews and reports.

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated person with experience of low carbon retrofit, asset management, and business development to join Repowering London’s growing team. You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
This will be a high-profile role within the executive team of a nationally significant social enterprise that is at the leading edge of urban community energy, with significant ambitions for scale and impact. You will work alongside the Executive Team with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan.
Community Retrofit is a place-based approach to decarbonisation and community development, that creates low-carbon infrastructure, which is technically integrated at a local level, and provides direct benefits to local communities, for example through community ownership, affordable energy supply, or high-quality jobs.
You will be responsible for leading the Community Retrofit team. The team currently encompasses seven staff working across domestic and non-domestic:

Rooftop solar is the most established asset type deployed by Repowering, with installations dating to 2013. Retrofit assessment and coordination services started in 2023, and communal heat network investments are expected in 2025.
You will be responsible for ensuring high quality installations of low carbon assets that perform as forecast.
You will lead the development of improvements to our processes for evaluating potential sites and deploying and maintaining low carbon assets and retrofit measures.
The role will require ongoing refinement of Repowering’s community retrofit offer to community groups, building owners and public bodies such as Local Authorities, and support the growth of long-term partnerships with our stakeholders, including supply chain partners.
In particular, working with the Repowering executive team you will support the incubation of a suite of a finance offers that allow a wider range of households, businesses and communities to participate in community retrofit.
You will also support Repowering’s work to increase employment opportunities for young people in the low carbon sector, through how we structure our procurement for installations and by the training programmes we run in-house and with partners.
The Community Retrofit Team is one of Repowering’s four key teams, which include Communities, Energy Supply, and Core Operations. What can we offer you?
The salary band for this role is £25,000 - £27,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.
You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer. About the role
We are recruiting a pivotal new role in our Supporter Fundraising and Engagement Team at Freedom from Torture. The Senior Data & Insight Manager will be a huge asset to our Fundraising and Comms Directorate leading on the management of all fundraising data and delivering analytics to influence investment decisions and support engagement and income growth.
We are looking for a proactive individual to take our data team to the next level, bringing together the management of our data and CRM (ALMs and Engaging Networks predominantly), data protection and compliance, insight and reporting, testing strategies and innovation and our data transformation project.
With the support of our data services agency and line managing a Data Officer, the right candidate will have full authority delivering the data needs of the department and wider Fundraising & Communications directorate, including digital fundraising and Philanthropy & Partnerships. They will offer solutions and recommendations drawing on their personal experience, the experience gained through their peer networks and the opportunities they've seen from technical advances in the sector and beyond.
Last year we developed a KPI generator using Power BI to produce a live reporting tool. On completion it will create an invaluable easy access platform for fundraising team members to view their key performance metrics. This year we have started a Data Transformation project reviewing processes across our Fundraising & Comms and Finance teams. If appointed you have the opportunity to shape both projects, leading on implementation and systems change and ensuring we put in place a data infrastructure that will serve us well into the future.
We are looking for an experienced data and insights practitioner who understands the needs of a fundraising team with a diverse portfolio. The successful candidate will demonstrate the technical know-how, ability to analyse data and spot trends and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
