Overview:

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
• Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
• Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.

Skills and Qualities Required:

• Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
• Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
• Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
• Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.
• Data-Driven Approach: Experience with data collection and CRM systems and a commitment to data-driven service evaluation.
• Community Sensitivity: Experience collaborating with people with a lived experience of cancer or other long-term conditions. Ability to understand and empathise with community needs.
• Administrative: Strong administration and IT skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding practices, particularly concerning vulnerable populations.

Educational Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification or experience in Community Development, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• On boarding and training new Business and Charity Members
• Being the main point of contact for all Members. Regularly communicating with them via meetings and bulletins, in order to match candidates to placements
• Completing monthly reports for the Bright Future Board
• Line managing Bright Future Placement and Partnership Officer

The Role:

• The PR Manager is accountable for the planning, development and delivery of high performing UK wide integrated Public Relations (PR) activity.
• This role is responsible for leading, inspiring and developing a team of 3 Senior PR Officers to deliver the PR strategy, through the work of the Trust.
• The PR Manager will work collaboratively with the Social Media Manager and Influencer Manager to integrate and amplify shared activity to enable maximum exposure for the Trust.
• The role is also responsible for issues management, safeguarding the Trust’s reputation alongside the Lead Social and PR Manager.
• This role sits within the Social, PR and Influencing team, led by the Lead Social and PR Manager. This team is part of the wider Brand and Comms Directorate.
• This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Attendance at Head Office in Grantham is expected at least once per month, along with other visits as required. The role will also involve visiting sites and events to support PR activity.

We are looking for an experienced manager who understands and is passionate about community and volunteer-led fundraising, who keeps the supporter at the heart of what they do and is focused on delivering results. Working alongside dedicated colleagues, this is the perfect role for someone looking to put their experience of leading a community fundraising programme to use and help us grow our regional audience.  You will be an integral part of our Public Fundraising leadership team as we seek to develop operational plans to deliver transformational growth across our income. How you will make a difference:

Amna is seeking a Social Media and Design Consultant on a monthly retainer contract to support our digital content strategy and enhance our online presence. Both individuals and agencies with the relevant skills and experience are welcome to apply. This role is pivotal in amplifying our mission through creative and impactful content that engages our audience and reflects our core values. The consultant will bring expertise in social media management, graphic design, and video editing to help us effectively communicate our story.

Deliverables include:

• Designing up to 20 high-quality graphical posts per month for social media, ensuring alignment with Amna’s visual identity and core values.
• Editing videos and reels for social media channels, up to 5 per month, using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Scheduling posts across social media platforms using Hootsuite, ensuring consistent and strategic content delivery.
• Uploading and managing content on Amna’s website using a web Content Management System (CMS), such as WordPress.
• Providing ad-hoc design support as needed, including infographics, reports, and digital marketing materials (2-3 per month).
• Collaborating closely with the communications team to develop and execute content strategies that raise awareness and foster engagement.
• Keeping up to date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to enhance Amna’s digital presence, engaging with comments and messages.
• Amna team will share briefs and provide text, creative direction and copy for each deliverable.
• The consultant will be also expected to be available for 1-2 check in meetings per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience managing social media platforms and developing visual content for social media, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress or other CMS platforms.
• Experience in using social media management tools, such as Hootsuite, for scheduling and analytics.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take up a fixed-term role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Manchester North. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Eligibility for the role

In order to be eligible for the Centre Leader role, applicants will:

• Have completed an undergraduate degree to a 2.2 or higher.
• Have achieved a grade C/ grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Have EITHER a minimum of 18 months full-time paid experience working in a delivery role at IntoUniversity; OR a minimum of 2 years full-time paid or voluntary experience working with children and young people, either at IntoUniversity, or external organisations, or a combination of both. Please note that we will not take part-time, seasonal or ad-hoc work into account when calculating the length of full-time experience.
• Have the right to work in the UK (please note that as a charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).
• Be able to apply knowledge of F.E. and H.E. (e.g. UCAS applications) to help young people decide about their futures; and have knowledge of national developments in H.E. and their impact on young people traditionally underrepresented in H.E.
• Have experience of confidently negotiating with a variety of stakeholders, for example: head teachers, funders, universities.

What will my main dutires be?

To lead the staff team at the centre, generating a positive and inclusive working environment and ethos and ensuring that the team are well motivated, are managing their workloads effectively, and are providing a high quality service.

You will initially be involved in the set up of this brand new centre, including developing local school relationships and we anticipate that delivery of the IntoUniversity programmes will begin in the 2024 summer term.

To ensure that the ethos and values of the charity are maintained in the IntoUniversity centre.

To act as the Centre’s Designated Safeguarding Officer (full training and support will be provided to become the Designated Safeguarding Officer). To create and oversee relationships with local education providers.

Assist the Legacy Administration Team Leader by playing a pivotal role within the Legacy Administration Team, managing a diverse and active caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary bequests.
Ensure the protection and maximisation of legacy income for Marie Curie by adhering to best practices and maintaining effective and sensitive communication with solicitors and personal executors, enhancing the charity's reputation.

The Legacy Administration Team plays a crucial role in generating income for the charity, working closely with marketing and local legacy fundraising partners. We promote personal development through ongoing training and collaboration across the Directorate and organisation.

Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of specific, residuary, and reversionary legacies across the UK.
- Ensure Marie Curie receives its full entitlement in accordance with legal requirements, Wills, and settlements.
- Handle correspondence promptly, meeting internal service level agreements, and update case files accordingly.
- Liaise with other charities and act as lead charity when needed.
- Record and update legacy information in the FirstClass 4 database.
- Regularly review open cases, ensuring timely action to conclude them.
- Scrutinise estate accounts, ensuring correct administration and tax exemptions are applied.
- Obtain tax deduction certificates where cost-effective.
- Allocate legacies to restricted or unrestricted funds as per the Will.
- Comply with Law Society guidelines on Non-Contentious costs.
- Protect Marie Curie's interests in shared estates and lead charity discussions when appropriate.
- Represent Marie Curie in all correspondence with legal professionals and the public.
- Identify opportunities to increase the value of bequests and proactively manage asset sales.

Your role will be central to achieving our three-year strategy, which is focused on:  

1.  developing our programme so it makes a bigger difference, and is available to more young people  
2.  influencing system changes that lead to progress towards equity of, who gets in, who gets on and who belongs – in education and employment 

Based in our Advocacy and Campaigns team the Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for delivering our Social Mobility Employer Index and support the development of our wider policy positions and campaigns work. 

Growing the influence and impact of the Index is a key strategic priority within ambition two, and this role will help achieve that by ensuring we continue to develop our knowledge and to influence and improve employer-led social mobility. You’ll be responsible for project managing and delivering core components of the Index including the marking, design and delivery of the survey, which we use to gather employer data and the feedback reports, which we share with entrants. You’ll ensure the documents evolve with best practice and in line with our work with young people. Working with others you’ll deliver the annual key findings report, ultimately helping improve employer led social mobility in the UK. 

Alongside the Index you’ll play a key role in developing policy positions for our political influencing campaigns. You’ll support our internal knowledge hub, drawing insights from our Aspiring Professionals Programme, wider research and focus groups with our young people and share external developments to ensure we have robust, youth-led positions. You’ll analyse evidence and help carve out our unique point of view on how we can improve social mobility in the UK.  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the project management and delivery of the Index including development of policy positions and best practice, questionnaire design, employer feedback reports. 
• Lead the annual review of the Index assessing the impact it’s had on driving employer behaviour and update our measurement and evaluation metrics accordingly. 
• Ensure documents are reviewed annually and updated to reflect the latest best practice and insights from our wider interventions.  
• Co-ordinate the different individuals and teams working across the Index to deliver the annual key findings report. 
• Utilising our political monitoring service and our relations with employers, stay across updates from key stakeholders such as the Social Mobility Commission, the wider sector and employer research, utilising these insights to update our policy positions and develop our advice to employers. 
• Undertake rapid scans of various types of data and evidence; produce summaries of the main findings and implications for policy and generate ideas for further policy opportunities. 
• Present findings internally and support fundraising colleagues with the insights, tools, and knowledge to develop new products that can influence employer behaviour.  
• Create resources for the wider organisation to ensure our evidence base and policy positions are understood, up to date and consistently used across teams.  
• Attend relevant conferences, stakeholder meetings and gather intelligence, raising our profile and influencing where appropriate.  
• Support the Campaigns Officer (media) and Campaigns Officer (public affairs) with the insights required for political and media interventions. E.g. briefing MPs and creating briefing materials for media interviews. 
• Administrative tasks as needed.  

Essential skills and experience

• Experience of developing policy positions for an organisation. 
• Experience in translating research into insights and using that to inform positions. 
• Experience of analysing and interpreting data sets to develop policy positions.
