ROLE PURPOSE
This is an exciting new role which will build on an existing programme of supporting patient engagement in research, clinical trial development and clinical trials for lupus at a time of increased interest and activity in this area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery
- Act as the first point of contact for researchers and pharma companies seeking to involve members of the public in their research or trials.
- Work to build a network of patients around the UK with an interest in being involved with PPIE.
- Work with the Health Information Manager to identify and facilitate any support needs of the PPIE network.
- Support and facilitate PPIE in all stages of lupus research.
- Support PPIE in Lupus UK’s research grants process.
- Support engagement with diverse under-served communities.
- Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion considerations in PPIE methods and communications
Other
- Uphold the values and expectations of LUPUS UK.
- Carry out other duties relevant to your post as reasonably required.
- Occasional evening and weekend working and travel may be required to support our broader activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working directly with patients and/or members of the public.
- Experience of supporting Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activity.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Experience of working in PPIE within a similar environment (desirable).
- Experience of working within research or the health sector (desirable).
- Experience of working with stakeholders, such as healthcare organisations, public groups,and professional networks (desirable).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A strong understanding of best practice in PPIE within research.
- Knowledge of different types of research and the various stages of the research process.

The British Museum is seeking a Finance Assistant to work as part of the Income function of the Finance Department in a world-renowned setting and the most popular tourist attraction in the UK. You will ensure that financial data is accurate, with all income accurately processed, and that the service provided to Museum departments is of a high standard.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Set up new customers and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the customer master file
- Assume responsibility for the upkeep of the sales ledger ensuring the ageing is current and that cash is allocated and matched correct within customer accounts
- Raise sales invoices for all income streams within the Museum group and related entities
- Regularly correspond with customers and maintain an audit trail to ensure effective and efficient credit control across the group
- Develop relationships with all departments to build an understanding of the need for efficient credit controls, whilst maintaining good relations with high profile customers requiring sensitive handling
- Raising of intercompany invoices monthly as requested by management accountants
- Recover, check and input GPC returns to the GL, ensuring compliance with Museum group policy and that all required supporting documents are attached
- Have regard for PCI regulations and take credit card payments as required
- Preparing, completing and filing paperwork timely and accurately
- Perform month end account reconciliations as directed
- Provide accurate and timely analysis, as directed, on the status of outstanding debtors to management to highlight risk areas
Person Specification:
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
- Able to work swiftly and accurately with figures, maintaining consistency and accuracy in processing a high volume of transactions.
- IT literate with strong inputting and spreadsheet skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work well with others and take on other work in the department during times of heavy workload or staff absence.

Job Purpose
This is an exciting time to join our small and impactful team, as we embark on a new four-year strategy. The Finance and Governance Officer will provide robust and timely financial management support to the CEO, to ensure income is received and expenditure processed in line with our budgets. You will be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing payments within our bank and accountancy software, ensuring good records are kept, and liaising closely with our external accountants to deliver monthly accounts. You will support the CEO to tighten up our financial oversight, processes and compliance. You’ll also play a critical role in making sure our brilliant tutors and classroom assistants are paid each month, working with the wider team.
With an ambitious new strategy and an increased Board of trustees, a core aspect of this role will be to coordinate excellent governance support, to facilitate strong non-executive leadership and challenge as we grow. This role will be an advocate for governance and performance monitoring within TU, ensuring the team contributes to Board papers and KPIs, and supporting the CEO to meet governance deadlines. You will also pitch in with frontline programme delivery at pinch points during the year - such as helping with daily lesson support from 4-6pm, helping with our annual graduation event, or monitoring incoming enquiries.

Responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service in the region so patients, their families, carers and professionals to access independent support on social, financial, health advocacy and wellbeing
• Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Patient Support & Advocacy Service across the region and the effective management of a caseload. This involves regular attendance at renal clinics in the region, building relationships with health and care professionals and being available for patients in the renal unit, on the phone or online, or to meet at a mutually convenient public location

About the role:

For over 900 years Tewkesbury Abbey has been at the heart of the community - as a place of gathering, worship, celebration and remembrance. Down the centuries we have been a Benedictine Abbey, a parish church and a place of refuge in times of flood and war.
Today the Abbey is a thriving parish church with hundreds coming here to worship each week, drawn by our commitment to daily prayer and our traditional choral worship. We are a ‘Major Church’ within the Church of England, and we are larger than fourteen of our country’s cathedrals. We are also a venue for concerts, large civic events, fairs and festivals working in partnership with colleagues throughout the region, the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury Cultural Consortium and Gloucester Cathedral.
Like many heritage assets within the UK, COVID and lockdown presented us with serious challenges to our financial sustainability. We are now responding to those challenges with ambitious plans to double our visitor income and numbers within five years. These plans have been agreed and funded by our Parochial Church Council and are being overseen by our trading arm Tewkesbury Abbey Limited.
We applied for and won a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which will among other projects increase our marketing activity and visitor engagement, including the appointment of a marketing assistant, a volunteers officer and a project manager to oversee the scoping of future capital development plans, and testing activities such as entry by donation. We hope that this will lead to one or more larger-scale capital bids which could lead to a longer-term funding relationship to secure the Abbey as a thriving venue, unique heritage asset and global visitor destination.
In the past year we have hosted Luke Jerram’s ‘Gaia’ installation which was visited by over 20,000 people from across the region, the Luxmuralis immersive projection ‘Space’ and ‘The Longest Yarn’, a commemorative exhibition of knitted D-Day history, followed by Peter Walker’s ‘Peace Doves’ installation. Alongside these we also hosted environmental events, a schools programme, concerts and talks in addition to our core business of of worship and festive services.
