About Circles South East
Circles South East, based in Oxfordshire, is an award-winning charity which works to reduce the impact and instances of sexual harm through prevention, rehabilitation, education and safeguarding.
We have a long record of working within the field of reducing impact of sexual harm. We work with Survivors and others impacted by sexual violence to help them heal and perpetrators to help them to avoid re-offending.
We are organisational members of the BACP, and take referrals from organisations such as Victim Support, Children’s and Social Services, Rape Crisis, Probation Victim Liaison Units, GP Surgeries etc as well as from potential clients themselves.
Volunteers are at the core of what we do, and operate across all aspects of our work.
What will you be doing?
Trustees ensure their charity has a clear strategy and that all decisions put the needs of the service users first. They safeguard the charity’s assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. They make sure these are used well and that the charity is run sustainably. They hold the CEO to account and provide support and encouragement to them and the team. Trustees are jointly responsible for all their decisions and work together to ensure the charity delivers it’s aims.

This role is mainly home-based.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly, but not exclusively, interested from hearing from people with the following skills/experience:
- Legal
- Business
- Marketing & Branding
- London communities. We work in a lot of London communities and have no one on our board with knowledge of this part of the UK
We would especially welcome applicants who are from Black, Asian or other minoritised ethnic groups, people with a disability, and young people under the age of 35’ who are all under-represented on our board. We strongly value the contribution that people with these characteristics would bring to our board discussions.
What difference will you make?
We are looking for a Trustees to contribute to our plans for an exciting future. While continuing to provide Circles across the South East we aim to further develop our complementary services of counselling, victim support and training. We are constantly innovating new methods to deliver our goals and currently have two funded pilot projects which we hope to further develop. We have recently secured sustainable funding for our core Circles work providing trustees with a fabulous opportunity to be part of the charity as we build on this.
Commitment:
Estimate of time needed: up to five hours per month.
The board normally meets 5 times a year. The board meetings are quarterly and usually take place 4-6pm on a weekday. We are currently meeting remotely.

What We’re Looking For:
We are searching for an experienced HR specialist who can support our board, committees, and the CEO as we move through our next strategic stage of consolidation, then growth. Although long-established and successful, Evolve is reshaping itself and your HR expertise will be instrumental in positioning our charity to successfully meet the ever-growing demands and opportunities for supporting good mental health in our communities. Please note, a background in counselling is NOT a prerequisite for this role. Training will be available in general charity governance and in specific areas such as charity finance.
Your skills and knowledge, whether gained in the charity or commercial worlds, in a corporate HR Department, or a specialist consultancy, will help us to plan and “do the right thing” for our small staff and our self-employed counsellors, as we grow.
Including quarterly board meetings, committee sessions (at present virtual), a face-to-face AGM event, away days, and regular meetings with our CEO and the trustees, we anticipate a flexible time commitment of around 0-5 hours per month

As a Group Leader at Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO), you will play a key role in guiding and supporting young people through our 18-month program. This involves leading weekly 2-hour sessions in Wantage, creating a safe and engaging environment, and driving personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a 2-hour weekly session during term time, following YoCO’s unique programme: ME (self-awareness), US (group dynamics), and THEM (community & global causes).
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment, supporting the personal development of all group members.
- Plan fundraising activities alongside your group and the YoCO support team, and attend events (some may be on weekends).
- Lead the group on a 5-day UK residential trip organized by YoCO.
- Regularly update YoCO staff on the group’s progress and address any issues.
- Attend an induction with the Group Manager, complete a DBS check, and receive First Aid and Safeguarding training (funded by YoCO).
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Passionate and Motivated: Enthusiastic about working with vulnerable young people, with a commitment to motivating and inspiring them to reach their full potential. Able to act as a positive role model and build strong, trusting relationships.
- Strong Communication: Excellent listening skills and a non-judgmental attitude.
- DBS Check: Must have or be able to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Travel Ready: Willing to participate in a 5-day UK residential trip and able to commute to Wantage

Developing young people through personal challenge
Are you looking for a fresh challenge that makes a positive difference to the lives of Young People throughout the UK?
At Childline we are actively recruiting new Volunteers.
What will I be doing?
- Your shift will consist of 3hrs30mns counselling, sandwiched between a 15mns brief before your shift and a 30mns debrief post shift. This is to ensure that you can start and finish your shift with any support you require from your Practitioners.
- On shift you will take contacts from Young People who rely on the service that Childline offers. Childline is not there to solve problems, we are a listening service for Young People and in each contact your role is to engage the Young Person, explore their situation and to support them in deciding their next steps.
- The contacts you would take from Young People can come in 3 ways. Traditional phone call contacts, live chats via instant response typed messaging or less commonly via 'PIBS' which are essentially emails sent by Young People in the knowledge the response will not be 'live' and instant.
What impact will this have?
- Childline is a unique service, valued greatly by the Young People who contact us.
- It provides a safe place for Young People to talk confidentially to our Volunteer Counsellors, an option that many of them do not have elsewhere.
- Young People rely on us being there for them 24/7. In an average month, Childline London takes approx. 1,500 live chats, 900 voice calls and 300 PIBs.
- However, the demand for the service often outstrips the supply as Young People who desperately need our service cannot always get through.
- That is why we are actively recruiting new Volunteers to be able to meet the need of all Young People who are in distress and need the support that Childline provides.
Training
- Childline offers a full 12 week online training programme to new Volunteers. This consists of one 4 hour session per week.
- During the training, you will meet other Volunteers in your cohort and have access to your 2 dedicated Childline Trainers.
- As part of the training, you will also go in person to the London Base for observation and mentored shifts which give you a face to face insight into how the Counselling Room works.
- You will also have access to a dedicated Volunteer Engagement Lead to give you a London Base tour (optional) and generally be on hand to answer any questions or queries you may have - big or small, if they matter to you they matter because you are giving your time to volunteer and Childline wants to offer you every level of support.
- Once you pass through training and become a qualified Childline Volunteer Counsellor, the development opportunities do not stop there. You will have access to a multitude of mandatory and optional training courses that are accredited and 100% free to all Volunteers.
Childline provides a safe place for Young People to talk confidentially to Volunteer Counsellors, an option that many of them do not have elsewhere.

We are currently inviting applications for student counsellors/psychotherapy trainees and qualified honorary counsellors/psychotherapists to join our counselling team. Kingston Bereavement Service provide free one-to-one counselling on a short-term basis of ten sessions to adults who have been bereaved.
We are looking for candidates who have had at least one year’s clinical experience, and/or have extensive experience in a hospital, hospice or bereavement service, and have acquired a minimum of 50 clinical hours.
Training on bereavement counselling will be provided, and we offer a diverse ongoing CPD training programme. This covers things like working with complex clients, substance abuse and working with clients bereaved by suicide.
Kingston Bereavement Support is primarily a face-to-face service to best support the local community. Supervision for our counsellors is free of charge and provided fortnightly.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a short-term therapy framework and expand experience of working with loss and bereavement, whilst being supported by specialists

At Tenovus Cancer Care our aim is simple – to provide cancer support information and services that encourage and empower people helping them to have an improved quality of life. However, we can’t do this without your help.
We’re looking for enthusiastic, engaging and committed volunteers to represent Tenovus Cancer Care within their local community by raising awareness of the work we do to support cancer patients and their loved ones. This role will play an essential part in promoting our services and letting people know what we can provide support with.
This might be using your communication and organisational skills to liaise with local GP surgeries or cancer services to share promotional materials, deliver talks or signpost individuals. Or liaising with a variety of organisations and contacts throughout your community to share the Tenovus message at a local level.
What will I be doing?

Identifying suitable locations/organisations/outlets for placement of Tenovus Cancer Care promotional materials in your local area
Making sure that Tenovus Cancer Care literature is readily available throughout the area
Hosting an information stand, providing a warm welcome to people affected by cancer in various local venues
Providing a point of access to Tenovus Cancer Care services

Position Reports to:
Women’s Consortium: Clinical Service Manager

Main purpose of job:
You will be an enthusiastic, motivated volunteer therapist working a minimum of 1 day a week seeing 6 clients or groups.
· Providing mental health and wellbeing support to clients from our NHS/GP, Police, and other referrals including direct referrals sourced by yourself to deliver. You may also contribute to our secondary services and offer further support if needed once discharged from our other non-NHS Taking Therapy services.
· Managing all admin related to seeing clients and ensure trust, privacy and confidentiality for both the clients and the organisation.
· Be responsible for completing required training particularly safeguarding training and ensuring compliance.
· Provide High and Low Intensity support within a Stepped Care Model for adults and/or Children and Young People (if trained/experienced in this area) with common mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders.

Main tasks of job:
1) Train to carry out triage / assessments if needed.
2) Carry out triaging when you are not able to see clients and if needed.
3) See clients through our Talking Therapies program over 5 weeks depending on the client’s clinical needs.
4) Use the IAPTUS data system in order to manage client caseloads and to enter client data each week. Ensure all data/reporting for clients are entered during sessions or just after completing sessions.
5) Ensure suitable support program for clients to follow and adapt to, offer a range of interventions where needed and support clients throughout their treatment.

Registrations and Qualifications:

As Chair of Trustees, you will be an effective and influential ambassador for Nottingham Contemporary and have a personal commitment to our ethos, vision and values. You will have the ability to balance the strategic challenges faced within the sector with a supportive and creative leadership style.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with previous Trustee experience to support the Director and collaborative leadership team, to build upon current successes and to identify new opportunities for future sustainability.

Time Commitment
Estimated at an average of 2 days per month.
To Chair 4 (from 2025 – 5) full Board meetings per year and to attend the Finance and Audit Committee meetings, of which there are up to 6 per year. Regular 1:1’s with the Director and up to 2 Board Development/Away Days per annum. You will be invited to voluntarily attend the 3 exhibition openings per year and other fundraising, networking and promotional functions.
Some meetings may be able to be accessed remotely; however, the attendance of the Chair is felt to be beneficial as regularly as possible.

Trustees are expected to attend, in person or via tele-conferencing:
• Sessions agreed as part of each trustee’s personalised induction programme.
• Bi-monthly board meetings.
• Approximately two board away days per year, dedicated to strategic planning.
Where they are willing and able, trustees may be asked to join one of the board sub-committees.
Whilst this is an unpaid, voluntary role, out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. A personalised induction programme, training, support and mentorship will be provided.
