Welsh Programme Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welsh Programme Coordinator to implement the fundraising strategy for an important charity.
 

Position: Welsh Programme Coordinator

Location: Remote working with some travel required for in-person meetings and events when appropriate.

Hours: Flexible working Monday – Thursday

Contract: Fixed term 10 months with the opportunity to extend based on funds secured

Salary: £33,000 p/a for 32 hours per week

Benefits: 3% employer & 5% employee pension contribution, 24 days personal annual leave, plus bank holidays, with additional discretional leave days at the convenience of the organisation, remote working, and staff development through training and coaching.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the organisation’s strategy in Wales, to demystify Welsh democracy and to support women to find their role within it. This person will work closely with the Programme team which currently comprises of a Scotland Programme Coordinator and the CEO to co-create the programme of work and collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure it is promoted to the women of Wales.

The key elements of the role are:

• Act as a point of contact for our growing community of women across Wales.
• Coordinate the development of the organisation’s Welsh learning hub; a suite of fully accessible, women-centred political literacy resources.
• Coordinate the annual programme of activity for women in Wales.
• Support the development of the learning hub.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work with the communications team to grow the community of women working with the organisation across Wales
• Grow a network of 30 grassroots organisations working with women across Wales; to grow a foundational community of 200 women actively engaged in Wales’s democracy.
• Facilitate a network of Welsh women in elected office
• Work with senior leadership to nurture relationships with governments and democratic institutions across Wales to connect individual initiatives working to encourage more women to participate in democracy.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with key organisations working in intersectional feminism and political literacy across Wales.
• Work with social researchers to capture the experiences of women in Wales engaged in the Welsh democratic and political processes

Essential Criteria:

• Experience in utilising a wide range of management skills and techniques to ensure the effective use of resources and so enable successful project delivery.
• Experience in planning and organisation and a demonstratable track record of ensuring that deadlines and agreed targets are met.
• Experience working in women’s issues and/or democracy
• Demonstratable understanding of Wales’s political environment including structures, roles, and processes
• The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure.

This is an exciting new role in the Fundraising Team. The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Manager will play a key role in enhancing the charity’s online fundraising presence, leveraging our digital channels to drive awareness of the impact, and the need to engage both existing and potential supporters in fundraising initiatives and putting the donor at the centre of what we do.

The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Manager will lead, and project manage online appeals and campaigns, sometimes alongside offline campaigns each year and will be key to improving the way the charity fundraises digitally through both fundraising and awareness.

You will help the team offer outstanding supporter care and a seamless user experience, engaging in the organisation to maximise lifetime value.

You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Team and the Communications Team.

Main Purpose of the Job

The Digital Enabler will work with the District Leadership Team and the Communications Officer to build the digital communications capacity of the District at every level, to facilitate effective participation by all members in the life of the church in the North West District, and to make use of new opportunities for mission and community-building in the digital sphere.

Key Responsibilities

1.Ensure that the District leadership is able to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring there are reliable digital platforms for online, live-streamed and recorded meetings and events, for electronic dissemination of information (via web, social media and mailings), and audio and video recording and sharing..

2.Enable all members of churches in the District to have the opportunity for participation in District forums and events, and to receive information from their District and Circuits.

3.Co-operate with District and Circuit leaders, ministers and pioneers in the development of new forms of mission and church communities using a range of digital resources.

Key Tasks

Training and Support

1.Create a digital strategy for the District, identifying the essential resources and support needed to enable full participation at every level, and the opportunities for missional work in the online world.

2.Support the administration and governance of the District by facilitating online synods, committees and consultations.

3.Build a network of “digital champions” within Circuits and provide advice and support for local training and capacity building.

4.Devise and deliver online training courses for Circuits and churches.

5.Develop a “Digital Community of Practice” across the District, and linking where appropriate across the Connexion, which will envisage and create new ways of being and growing church in the digital age.

6.Work with safeguarding officers to raise awareness of digital safeguarding issues, and create usable information and guidelines for Circuits and churches.

Facilities and Resources

1.Work with the Communications Officer in building and maintaining the District’s online presence, including the website and social media.

2.Develop a range of digital tools and resources for the use of the District and its Circuits, and assist in their implementation. (These could include servicing local website and social media initiatives, plan-making and emailing applications.)

3.Collect and disseminate information on digital specialists in the District who can serve Circuits and churches. (This could include graphic designers, web and database programmers, audio-visual and streaming experts and others.)

Events and Online Communities

1.Provide technical support for online and live-streamed District events, including advertising, registration and ticketing, online and streaming facilities.

2.Work with the Mission Area Leads, Circuits and pioneers in implementing digital services, online communities and missional initiatives.

Personal Training and Growth

1.Maintain an awareness of changes in digital applications and resources, and consider how they can be used in the District.

2.Identify opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding, including by appropriate courses.

3.Reflect theologically on issues around faith in the digital world, and the opportunities for sharing the gospel by these means.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Events Fundraiser to support the delivery of our annual calendar of events which includes the London Marathon, Swim Serpentine, Action Challenges and our Choose your own Challenge programme.

The Events Fundraiser will be responsible for managing the portfolio of challenge events including the marketing; on the day delivery; first class stewardship and participant support from sign up to event completion and volunteer recruitment and management.

Due to the nature of our work, you will be required to attend some events and meetings throughout our catchment area which can be during weekends, early mornings or evenings.

This is a varied role including processing volunteer applications, creating comms materials, managing, and communicating schedules, organising training, organising and setting up kit, ensuring our teams of specialists have the equipment and materials they need and helping out in our centres.

Background to the role

The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is at the forefront of the movement to transform meat production in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering.

We work with scientists, businesses and policymakers to make plant-based and cultivated meat (grown directly from cells) delicious, affordable and accessible. We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a Deputy Head of Operations (People) to manage our growing people operations team and projects.

How you will make a difference

Your role will enable inclusive, empowering and efficient people operations workflows at GFI Europe. Reporting to the Head of Operations, your work will fall under the following categories:

• Manage the People Operations function, including line managing two team members.
• Develop an inclusive, empowering and engaging People Operations strategy that ensures best practices around management principles, professional development, diversity, equity and inclusion, and other aspects of a healthy culture are adopted.
• Track team morale and culture by coordinating team engagement surveys and by listening to team members’ needs from when they join the organisation and all along their employee journey with us, taking steps where necessary to improve the employee experience.
• Be the main contact person for the GFI Europe team to discuss HR-related needs or concerns.
• Oversee solid HR management by:
  • Ensuring GFI Europe’s compensation and benefits remain competitive.
  • Creating and/or periodically reviewing and improving People Operations policies and addressing specific HR needs and requirements of our growing team.
  • Being the point of contact with payroll and employment legal advisors across 7+ countries, ensuring our employment terms and conditions are up to date and that payroll and employment terms are correctly processed.
  • Staying up to date with national laws impacting employment, benefits and other regulations to ensure we remain compliant across all regions.
  • Procuring and overseeing the work of People Operations service providers and consultants where applicable.
• Enable a smooth experience across the employee lifecycle by:
  • Positioning GFI Europe’s employer brand to keep attracting and retaining talent.
  • Planning recruitment cycles in collaboration with the Operations team and other departments, and signing off on assessment design.
  • Coordinating performance / probationary review cycles and where support is needed, providing coaching and counselling to team members and managers on matters related to performance.
  • Ensuring learning & development budgets and activities meet the needs of the team and organisation.
• Perform other tasks as required as a member of our small, dynamic team.

Who we’re looking for

You must have:

• A passion for GFI’s philosophy and mission.

• Proven experience in managing smooth, inclusive and effective People Operations such as HR admin, recruitment, performance management, learning & development, etc.
• Ability to balance high-level responsibilities (management, strategy) with practical execution, and to prioritise what needs to be solved, by when and how.
• Excellent people skills: high emotional intelligence, the ability to listen deeply and communicate effectively, to build and maintain trust and to work well with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple cultures.
• A high degree of organisation and attention to detail: finding enjoyment in devising and managing effective processes, fixing problems, and ensuring accurate, high-quality administration.
• Compassionate people management style: proven line management experience and ability to get the best out of colleagues, ideally in a remote environment.
• Comfort with complex, often ambiguous workflows where you need to approach and problem-solve new challenges creatively.
• Commitment to DEI principles: applying a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to all People Operations workflows, and maintaining our welcoming and supportive culture.
• Expertise in HR, employment compliance and payroll management within at least one country in Europe.
• Tech savviness: comfort using various software tools and platforms in a remote workplace, and a willingness to learn new systems. Training and support will be provided. 
• Language skills: ability to work effectively in English. 

It would be an advantage to have some or all of the following attributes, but none of them are prerequisites, and we welcome applications from candidates without any or all of them:

• Coaching and mentoring experience
• Experience with international HR management (2+ countries). Familiarity with the following countries in particular would be an advantage: Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain or the UK.
• Experience with leading DEI initiatives in the workplace.
• The ability to work in European languages in addition to English.

Benefits and the fine print

• Terms of employment: Full-time (38 hours/week), flexible working hours.
• Location: We can consider applicants based in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain or the UK. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or we are happy to consider supporting costs for co-working to enable you to work from an office if you wish. The whole GFI Europe team aims to get together in person approximately twice per year for around 3-5 days at a time. Travel costs will be covered by GFI Europe within our travel policy.
• Salary and benefits: The salary and benefits package for all of our roles are researched and benchmarked based on similar nonprofit roles in the country/location of hire. For reference, full-time range (total amounts received in gross salary plus benefits including home-working allowance) would be for:
  • The Netherlands: €58,320-€69,984 (range includes holiday pay specific for the Netherlands)
• Right to work requirements: The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the country where they are based, and to be able to travel within the EU.

Our website is a vital channel for our communications and marketing delivery. It’s the main platform for students to engage with us and find out more about our story and the services, opportunities and activities we provide to help them Love Exeter. The Web Designer will play a key role in developing our webpages to deliver our marketing campaigns and ambitions.
