The HR Officer will provide expert support and advice to operational management in all areas of HR whilst consistently demonstrating HR best practice. The HR Officer will be the initial point of contact for all operational HR related matters. The HR Officer will proactively assist with the development and achievement of the team and the Organisational outcomes on any Dimensions strategy.
This is a Home Based role with some occasional travel across the region so essential you are based in the Wales area.
The hours available to work are 15 a week. The full-time salary is £31,000 pro-rata salary of £12,400 for 15 hours.
Friday is an essential day to work but there is flexibility across the rest of the week.
About the role
Your main duties will include:
- Providing first level advice and guidance on HR Policies and procedures, employment law and employee relations issues with the guidance of the HR Business partner as required.
- Advising and supporting Locality Managers with disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance improvement cases
- Ensure the provision of appropriate, timely and accurate management information to support strategy development, management decision making and improve the effectiveness of HR Services as and when required.
- Review sickness absence and undertake relevant interventions, including referrals to Occupational Health and advice to Locality Managers on phased return
About you

- Possess operational HR experience supporting managers in all aspects of HR
- Experience in developing metrics and reports with data analysis ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives. The post-holder will lead on growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling operational duties, such as overseeing a fit-for-purpose database.
This is a new role with a significant input into our plans and strategies for the future. The successful candidate will report to the CEO and oversee most fundraising income generation.
The Fundraiser will build positive relationships to secure significant income, develop links specifically with churches and individuals and bring in regular/targeted income through recurring donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Churches, Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating campaigns). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we serve.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with Senior Leadership Team to develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.
- Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan’s supporters.
- Assist with setting up a CRM database with responsibility and maintaining appropriate data capture for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.
- Work with Senior Leadership to develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.
- Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark, with support from the CEO.
Key Requirements (specific skills, qualifications required):
- Experience of all fundraising methods
- Excellent strategic planning skills and able to balance competing priorities
- Experience working on either eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce or Donorfy CRM systems
- Research skills, including identifying, analysing, and monitoring potential funders
Desirable knowledge/expertise
- Degree level qualification / Marketing, Finance or CRM qualification

The post holder will support YMCAs policy function through ensuring we have a range of public affairs activities to engage and build relationships with Government, Parliament, Civil Servants, other tiers of government and relevant organisations. The post holder will also provide a full range of public affairs advice and support to the YMCA Federation.
Scope and Limits of Authority:
The Senior Public Affairs Officer will report into the Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager. The post will have no formal budgetary or line management responsibilities other than ad hoc volunteers and interns.
The post holder must operate at all times in accordance with the approved policies and procedures of YMCA England & Wales and act in accordance with the values and ethos of the organisation as outlined in the Code of Conduct. In addition, all employees must adhere to the performance management processes and systems approved by the Board of Trustees.
The post holder will support the Safeguarding, health and well-being and safety of staff, volunteers and supporters we work with, some of whom may be classed as vulnerable people or adults at risk. Overview of Go-Forward:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small charity at a time of big growth. Go-Forward Youth was founded by care leavers to provide support to care experienced young people as they transition to adulthood and independence. Main Tasks:
To support the Go-Forward Youth CEO in maintaining professional, robust, and efficient administrative systems and records for both Go-Forward Youth as follows:
1.Be the first point of contact for both entities and to manage the office email account and diary, drawing to CEO, Funding Manager or Chair of Trustees matters that they need to action, and ensuring that we respond in timely fashion to all external communications.
2. Administration of courses and programmes
a. Maintain lists of participants and volunteers, including attendance logs
b. Ensure that we maintain appropriate records for each – for identification and compliance, for communications, and for programme progress
c. Produce and distribute regular updates to both volunteers and programme participants
d. Liaise with Local Authorities (LAs) regarding the administrative aspects of developing Go-Forward Youth projects and programmes in other LA boroughs
e. Assist with recruitment and onboarding and on boarding of new staff.
f. Maintain risk assessment, safeguarding, fire safety and other records, making sure all policies are reviewed and updated yearly. Ensure that all staff and volunteers working with clients have been DBS checked (Enhanced).
3. Administration of grant applications
a. Support the Funding Manager by logging, recording and monitoring the progress of Go-Forward Youth grant and funding applications, along with report deadline.
b. Update the CEO and Trustees on in-progress funding applications and ensure action is taken and deadlines are met where necessary.
c. For grants won, ensure that reporting cycles are noted in the charity’s diary, and that the appropriate reports to funders get sent
4. Administration of Board and other internal compliance processes
a. Meet with the CEO weekly to review the overall performance and objectives of the charity.
b. Maintain systemised record keeping of invoices and receipts, to be stored securely and sent to the relevant key personnel.
c. Undertake any other administrative activity necessary to support the smooth running of the charity as instructed by the CEO.
d. Assist the Treasurer or Chair in the preparation, administration and submission of the annual accounts to the Charity Commission and Companies House in a timely manner.
e. Assist in the preparation of board meeting papers, including circulating meeting agendas and taking and distributing minutes of meetings as required.
f. Prepare and send out personalised birthday and celebration cards to young participants.
g. Look for opportunities to create, develop and streamline existing office systems.
h. Support the administration of the lived-experience-led Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and Own-It Alumni Network.
i. Maintain and develop clear and full electronic and physical filing systems.
j. Organise the logistics, catering and other event organisation for the quarterly Trustee meetings and other ad hoc meetings and events as appropriate.
