About us
Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity using pioneering approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We have recently embarked on an inspiring and ambitious new, three-year project funded through the National Lottery Community Fund: Intergenerational Action for Nature and Climate. This will see us working across two sites, Grow Wilder in Bristol and Heartwood, near Matlock in Derbyshire, and using our proven intergenerational land stewardship approach to restore biodiversity and connect young people to nature, empowering them to become life-long climate activists and advocates for nature.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and be a part of the project from the very beginning, playing a key role in its success. You will work closely with other members of the project team, as well as our site partners Heartwood Social Farming Centre, to support the development and successful delivery of the project at Heartwood.
Through regular online engagement and quarterly residential visits to Heartwood, you will support the North West Programme Manager and Land-based Projects and Policy Lead to facilitate an intergenerational co-design process using eco-cultural mapping and other participatory methods. Involving key stakeholders, including Heartwood Social Farming Centre, a Youth Leadership Group of young people aged 13-18 living locally to the project site, local knowledge holders and the wider community, this process will enable participants to collectively develop an ambitious vision for the future of Heartwood. One of the outcomes of this process will be a shared plan for restoring nature and improving biodiversity at Heartwood, which will be implemented throughout the lifetime of the project and beyond.
In collaboration with our partners Heartwood Social Farming Centre, you will be responsible for coordinating all project activities on behalf of Action for Conservation, providing high-quality administrative and organisational support to the project team. You will also directly contribute to project delivery, leading or supporting a variety of engaging sessions, webinars and hands-on activities with the project partners, young people, community groups and other project stakeholders.
Start date: as soon as possible, ideally mid/late October
Contract: Fixed-term for three years, with scope to extend subject to funding
Starting salary: £16,872.76 - £17,590.75 (equivalent to £28,121.27 - £29,317.92 FTE) depending on experience
Location: Greater Manchester or Derbyshire (hybrid working). This role requires regular travel (at least quarterly) to the project site near Matlock, as well as occasional national travel for partner exchange visits, away weeks, etc. (2-3 times per year).
Working hours: Part-time, 21 hours / 3 days per week. This role requires regular evening work (2-3 times per month) and residential visits (4-6 times per year). Time off in lieu (TOIL) can be taken for work outside of usual office hours.
Key responsibilities (you can see the full job description and person specification in the Recruitment Pack):
- Support the North West Programme Manager and Land-based Projects and Policy Lead to design and facilitate an intergenerational co-design process using eco-cultural mapping and other participatory methods to develop a future vision for Heartwood.

Essential
- Working with, engaging, motivating and supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, ideally aged 12 to 18
- Facilitating in-person and/or online group events and activities, including practical activities in an outdoor setting
- Organising events and activities from start to finish, including liaising with partners, managing logistics, safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessments
- Environmental knowledge demonstrated through post-secondary education and/or relevant work or volunteer experience
- Good understanding of qualitative research methods, such as interviewing, surveying and co-design
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan ahead, work across multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
- A positive, proactive and self-reliant approach to work with proven ability to work independently, problem-solve and take initiative to achieve results

BACKGROUND
Magic Breakfast is a registered charity providing healthy breakfasts to children and young people in the UK who arrive at school too hungry to learn, and expert support to their schools. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The biggest team within the Fundraising and Development department, Corporate Partnerships are responsible for building and unlocking multi-layered and mutually beneficial relationships that go beyond, and include, critical financial support.
The Head of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for leading, empowering and enabling a dynamic, growing and ambitious team to maximise the potential of both cash and gift-in-kind income streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, mission-led focus and alignment across new partnership development and management whilst also playing a critical role as part of the wider Fundraising & Development leadership and Magic Breakfast core management group.
In recent years, our existing corporate fundraising programme has developed and grown and includes a volunteering programme that engages with over 200 volunteers a year. Our portfolio includes long-term strategic relationships with companies including Heinz, Amazon and New York Bakery Company as well as newer partnerships with companies such as Marriot Hotels. As the Head of the team, you will provide senior and strategic support to help deepen the impact of our many multi-faceted relationships whilst championing innovation and creativity throughout. You will also oversee the development of a targeted pipeline to ensure there are clear strategies for identification, cultivation, and stewardship and that partners are aligned with Magic Breakfast values and our Ethical Fundraising Policy.
To enable the success of the partnerships team, the successful candidate will work closely with other departments across the organisation to build effective relationships and identify and deliver opportunities for partners to deliver on and engage with our strategic objectives and campaigns.
As a member of the Senior Fundraising Leads and Core Management Group, the post holder will also show exceptional leadership, role model our core values, and support the development and delivery of the major giving and wider fundraising strategy, and the in-year management of our organisational objectives and KPIs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Leadership

Support the development and delivery of a new Fundraising & Development strategy, identifying and contributing specifically to sustainable and ambitious growth from corporate partners in line with the charity’s financial ambitions and strategic objectives

Income Generation and Donor Stewardship

Manage a high-performing corporate fundraising team, providing leadership and support to set and implement an effective corporate fundraising strategy raising £3,400,000 in cash and £1,500,000 from GIK in 2024/25 with a focus on multi-year investment.

Increase cash and gift-in-kind income from corporate partners by:

Building the capacity of the new business function to grow a robust and diverse multi-year pipeline of prospects and support them in on-boarding new high value partnerships

Building the capacity of the account management function to effectively steward, uplift and retain our existing partners, maximising added value opportunities for mutual benefit.
Reporting, Budgets and Financial Management

Manage all aspects of the Corporate Partnerships team budget.

Lead on the data capture and reporting on all corporate management cash and gift income via our Salesforce data base, reporting as necessary on opportunities, risk and any changes to forecast or projected income received.

Conduct effective annual planning and budgeting in close collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation, setting, measuring, and reporting against agreed budget, KPIs and objectives
Core Management Group

Lead the Corporate Partnerships team in line with Magic Breakfast’s values, supporting and managing them in line with Magic Breakfast’s policies and procedures.

Develop the team’s collective capability through career development plans, which identify training opportunities (formal external training as well as via project allocation and involvement with external partners)

Principal duties include:

- Prepare the Annual Budget and all related analysis for MMUK for review and approval by Senior Management and the Board.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Charity, Company, and Taxation legislation by keeping up to-date with developments in accounting standards and recommended practice.
- Liaise with the Fundraising departments to maintain accurate records of restricted funding, and to provide financial information for grant applications and reports.
- Proactively manage the monthly cash transfer process to facilitate timely and appropriate transfer to Mary’s Meals International.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely production of high-quality monthly Management Accounts.
- Oversee the monthly payroll processes including supply of information to payroll bureaus and authorisation of payment by bureaus.
- Maintain and update employee information for online submission of Group Pension Scheme and other providers of employee benefits.

The Role
As our Sustainability Lead, you will support functions across our organisation to help deliver on our sustainability commitments.
Specifically, you will support improved environmental, social and governance actions, whilst setting annual sustainability targets and reporting on these to ensure we deliver on our environmental promises.
You will help finalise our Sustainability Strategy and reporting framework to ensure improvements are delivered. About Us:
Appeer is a Community Interest Company (CIC) set up to deliver services that support autistic girls and women (and those assigned female at birth) to connect with peers, to develop their life/work skills and to support their wellbeing. We provide in person and online activity groups and programmes, alternative provision, events and resources for those in the community that we serve, their parents/carers and other professionals. We are not a therapeutic setting and as such do not offer clinical support or 1:1 supervision. We were established in 2019 and have since grown rapidly from a small startup to a robust small-medium enterprise with a turnover of £250k and serving well over 400 beneficiaries a year.
All our work is firmly rooted in a ‘positive peer approach’, providing an enjoyable, pressure-free and beneficiary-centred space for connecting with others and exploring interests and hobbies in a place they can truly be themselves. We also facilitate light touch exploration of autism and the discovery and sharing of helpful tools and approaches for navigating the neurodivergent experience.

We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager with great personality and team ethic to join our Regional Fundraising team.
This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.
You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver an excellent experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.
The North & East of Scotland is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from hospitals across the region, and our Home from Home, ‘Ciaran’s House’ in Edinburgh, enables families to stay close to their loved one for free during treatment, so building relationships with these teams are a must.
Candidates should live within North & East Scotland, in one of the following counties: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dundee, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Highland, Inverness, Moray or Perth & Kinross. About the role
The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. Key Responsibilities
Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:
- Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)

• Support the Head of Brand, Content and Digital Engagement with Digital Engagement strategy development and implementation
• Advise on optimal digital experience for our audiences via email campaigns and automations and support the Email Marketing Coordinator and other colleagues with email campaign and journey delivery
• Work with the Data team to improve data and consent processes
• Own the relationship with our media buying partner and act as client-side account manager for Samaritans, driving a strategic integrated approach

Regional Business Development Manager (Institutional Funding), Southern Africa

The Regional Business Development Manager is a central part of the Southern Africa Regional team and will play a key role in helping to expand WaterAid's funding portfolio as well as building regional intelligence, positioning WaterAid's work in our key thematic areas (such as health and climate), and proposal development. The role will partner with country teams in the region, fundraising specialists, and technical experts across WaterAid as well as externally with donors and partners to develop a multi-year pipeline of opportunities and implementing a strategy for business development. The postholder will be a strategic thinker, who is able to challenge and mentor country funding teams to appraise opportunities critically and to produce consistent, compelling proposals and funding strategies; and to deliver on targets. This will focus on ensuring WaterAid is well positioned within key donor and consortium partner networks in the region as a "go to" partner for long term sustainable WASH programming.
Key accountabilities among others include:
Strategy
- Support country programmes in developing fundraising, donor and consortium partner strategies from a deep understanding of how to position WA's programmes within the current donor marketplace.
- Contribute to overall new business strategy in collaboration with country teams, Senior Program Development Manager and Regional Director, assessing regional performance against Key Performance Indicators and annual revenue targets.
Pipeline development and management:
- Be responsible for growing and monitoring the pipeline of relevant funding opportunities to WA country programmes, coordinating with fundraising members to communicating donor intelligence, ensuring a balanced portfolio of funding types and ambition.
- Provide strategic support to the sign on of larger funding opportunities, ensuring that WA country teams are supported to negotiate favourable positions within consortia and are able to effectively assess and mitigate for delivery risk.
- Support the improvement of cost recovery in restricted funding contracts through supporting country teams to communicate and negotiate with donors and holding CPs to account for cost recovery KPIS.
Funding skills and capabilities development:
- Monitor the fundraising skills, capabilities and investment levels within country teams, and support the development of both funding focused roles and the capability of country SMTs to engage with donors and develop funding propositions
- Play a leading role in co-creating and embedding business processes, systems, and policies for restricted funding
- Build confidence in pursuing different funding modalities, including commercial contracts through accompanying country teams in the development of complex and novel bidding approaches (with the support of global teams and consultants)
Leadership and Line management
- Responsible for working with a high-performing team of country Heads of Funding and Donor Relationship Leads across the globe. The RBDM will contribute to strategic and operational planning processes; define and deliver an agreed set of team performance targets; and providing guidance, coaching and support in helping peers achieve optimum performance.
- The RBDM will contribute towards establishing the core new business processes of the team and will lead on and ensure effective linkages with other key stakeholders
- Identify specialist training needs in the region and source relevant expertise from Programme Funding and Partnerships team (PFP) and other external avenues to address the capacity needs in the region.
To be successful, you will need the following:
- Master's Degree level qualification in international development, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors such as USAID, EC, UK Government, International Financial Institutions such as the WB, AfDB, local and international corporates, trust and foundations such as Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation etc.
- Substantial experience and knowledge of the institutional funding space and a deep understanding of bilateral and multilateral donors' routes to market
- Solid experience building partnerships to facilitate opportunities in consortium contracting and negotiating the position of WA in those consortia
- Demonstrable track record of developing and delivering on strategies for restricted income growth.
- Strategic networker with the ability to identify and transform opportunities into tangible results
- Ability to work in a flexible and agile way to identify opportunities and address challenges
- Ability to take complex information and simplify for audiences

This role will oversee a range of evaluation projects including communicating our impact and insights in a timely way, through research and data analysis and visualisation.
Understanding the evidence for the effectiveness of our work is vital to Carers Trust mission and strategy. Impact evidence will be fundamental to shaping our programmes, informing our advocacy and shaping our internal culture.
