Summary
This role sits within the Research and Operations Team in the Philanthropy and Partnerships Department. The post holder will work closely with frontline fundraisers to provide insight and guidance relating to the management and identification of new prospects as well as wider reporting and data management activities. By providing effective pipeline and data management, the post holder will support sustained income generation for the charity.

Main Responsibilities
This role forms an essential part of our high-value fundraising operation by working closely with fundraisers to identify and prioritise prospects through thorough desk-based research. The post holder will also be responsible for effective administration of the charity's partnership approvals process and will be instrumental to the effective rollout and adoption of the new CRM in the Philanthropy and Partnerships Department.

Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) works to encourage debate, drive collaboration, and build partnerships across academia and industry that increase the probability of transforming discoveries from the lab bench into treatments for people living with dementia. Since funding their first project in 1998, the charity has now committed over £171 million of funding for ground-breaking dementia research.
As part of the ARUK Leadership Team, the Head of Philanthropy plays a pivotal role in leading the charity to accelerate progress towards a cure. To run the next rounds of our 2½-years old Grantmaking Training program, we are looking for a Philanthropic Programs Director to continue finding, training, and advising funders in setting up their grantmaking for maximum impact. ABOUT THE ROLE
As Philanthropic Programs Director, you will lead and keep developing AIM's Impactful Grantmaking training program and oversee our five funding circles. Your primary responsibility will be outreach, program facilitation, and hands-on philanthropic advising for the twice-annual 9-week cohorts of funders giving over $1M annually.
This is a fairly senior position with high stakes, a lot of potential for development, and outstandingly high potential for impact, and thus best suited to an individual with at a minimum 3-5 years of experience and some deep prior expertise in the philanthropic sector.
You will work closely with the Philanthropic Programs Manager in a two-person program team. You will decide collaboratively at the start of your tenure how to divide and/or share responsibilities in the categories below, as well as how to take care of operations and ad hoc tasks and projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Facilitation (~40%)

APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Manage high-value partnerships
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing five and six-figure corporate partnerships, ensuring a first-class stewardship journey that maximises partnership value and delivers on agreed objectives.
- Provide excellent stewardship of existing corporate partners, including engaging with employees and delivering timely and impactful partnership reporting, ensuring that all partnership activity is compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
Drive new business
- Work with our Fundraising Prospect Research & Administration Intern and Senior Corporate Partnerships Lead to identify, develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate partners and diversify the partner portfolio, conducting research, making approaches, and securing meetings to drive income and impact.
- Work closely with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Lead and wider team to create compelling, innovative, and bespoke partnerships proposals that meet the needs of corporate partners, while aligning with the charity's strategic priorities.

Plan and strategise
- Work with the Senior Corporate Partnerships Lead to develop and implement the corporate partnerships plan and forecast financial targets within the wider fundraising strategy.
- Use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of corporate income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management.
Line Manage
- Line manage the Corporate Partnerships Executive and support their professional development, providing direction, support and guidance.
Communicate and collaborate
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Fundraising, Impact and programme delivery teams, to ensure that partnership activity is integrated into wider organisational activity and aligned with the charity's overall objectives.

About the Investment Team
The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in School engagement, School attainment and Employment Sectors) and an Impact Lead. Job description – Investment Director
The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. This role works closely with other Investment Directors and Investment Managers to deliver external facing support to portfolio partners as well as internal projects to support the development of the investment model and portfolio strategy.

Key responsibilities
Finding high potential charities and non-profit partners for our portfolio

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a wonderful children’s charity to recruit for the Special Events Lead to ensure that the flagship fundraising programme for the charity is delivered and developed to outstanding standards.
Special Events Lead will drive growth in fundraising and programme awareness and play a key support role for the charity’s flagship fundraising programme Patron and Chair, and committee members.
As a Special Events Lead you will:
- Successfully manage and coordinate the delivery of flagship fundraising programme and ongoing plan of income generating initiatives and special events, generating required net income targets and meeting objectives
- Lead, grow and foster relationships with partners, suppliers and supporters to maximise their impact and experience. · Provide specialist insight, knowledge and commercial acumen from the art and culture sector to develop opportunities and deliver the programme to the required standards
- Support and direct the Business Development Manager with targeted new business approaches, including preparation of pitch documents and accompanying them to meetings
- Regularly use data and analysis to report KPIs and ensure the programme is on track to meet agreed targets and objectives
To be successful, you must have experience:
- Significant experience in special events, philanthropy, corporate sponsorship, business development, particularly in the Art and cultural sector, with demonstrable project management experience, competent in shaping and leading delivery of varied programmes
- Ability to work on a fast paced, dynamic program of activity but without compromising on quality of delivery and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence at senior levels, internally and externally
- People Development, leading teams, coaching and mentoring others
Comfortable working to financial targets
Excellent written communication and high levels of numeracy and accuracy
Self-motivated with exemplary organisational skills and ability to work to strict and often tight deadlines
A creative thinker with the ability to identify and maximise opportunities and anticipate and manage risks
Experience of leading and delivering alongside cross functional teams
Experience of delivering a demanding and varied workload, including balancing immediate and long-term priorities
Budget management, forecasting and understanding financial information
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Location- Reading, hybrid working with at least 1 day in the office
