Pause works with women who have experienced – or are at risk of – repeated pregnancies that result in children needing to be removed from their care. The programme gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma.

Are you an ambitious, creative and influential practitioner who is passionate about reducing the number of children being removed into care by supporting women to bring about change in their lives?

As a Pause Practitioner Hackney, you will deliver a range of interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support for women on the programme, under the direction of the Pause and STEPs Practice Lead.

You will undertake a creative and tenacious outreach approach to engage women and utilise a broad range of highly developed skills, alongside a high level of professional autonomy. The post holder will have the ability to adapt to shifting demands and priorities and be flexible in their approach to working with women on the programme.

You will be a big part of a small team, where everyone takes a flexible and collaborative approach to work and is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable and marginalised groups. Like Pause, you will be passionate about changing entrenched social issues and will respond by ‘doing things differently’.

The following criteria is essential for this post:

· Relevant professional qualification/experience in a field relevant to the work of the Pause team e.g. nursing, social work, mental health, education, criminal justice, youth work, therapeutic practice, counselling, criminal justice or equivalent

· Experience of working with families/individuals who present with a range of complex needs (mental health challenges, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse) and demonstrate an ability to create rapport and build effective relationships

· Experience of case management including assessments, care planning and reviews with clients with complex needs

· Highly developed knowledge of adult safeguarding, childcare legislation and local Child Protection Procedures

· Ability to use influence and evidence to improve outcomes for Pause women

· An understanding of child development, parenting capacity, risk and protective factors

· Ability to work flexibly as part of a team

Advisers in this organisation negotiate with creditors directly on behalf of clients; set up manageable and sustainable repayment arrangements and provide full casework services.
 
As a Specialist Debt Adviser you will hold a valid level 3 accredited qualification in Debt Advice (accredited through CMA, IMA, Wiser Adviser or similar) or alternatively Generalist Adviser certificate (Citizens Advice or similar), and Ideally a CertMAP.  You'll also have a thorough understanding of debt advice model with proven casework skills and experience of dealing with complex and challenging cases.  You will also have supervisory responsibilities which will cover training and development, monitoring from a compliance and quality perspective, and a strong coaching capability. 

You will have a minimum of 2 years of experience In providing comprehensive accredited debt advice.  Your experience in executing debt solutions such as (and not limited to) DMP, Bankruptcies, DRO, Breathing Space, Write Off, and undertaking income maximisation solutions such as charitable grants, issuing food and fuel vouchers, Uswitch checks and DHP and other benefit entitlement checks/referrals etc.

At a personal level you will also need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to, understand and empathise with clients from diverse range of backgrounds and disadvantaged groups living in the community, in particular barriers faced by over-indebted and financially excluded communities. You will also need to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and computer skills, specifically IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite with an ability to understand and analyse complex financial and other numerical information.

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

• Scout for, build and maintain relationships with existing and new funders, donors, and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.

• The Connection Community is a place where people can gain respite from street homelessness, engage in group and coproduction activities, develop social inclusion and reduce isolation and have their needs met by a committed and dedicated multi-disciplinary team.

In June 2023, Prince William and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales launched Homewards. Homewards is a transformative five-year programme, working with six locations, to demonstrate that together it’s possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief and unrepeated.

The Royal Foundation’s Homewards programme is recruiting into their Strategic Delivery team. This team will be focused on leveraging significant impact across the locations focused on key, cross-cutting, themes and report into the Programme Director.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a motivated, creative and delivery-minded individual to join us as our Strategic Data Lead. The Lead will work with partners to support our locations to bring together current data and use it more effectively to end homelessness – and leverage brand new forms of data from a range of public and private sources.

They will focus on deploying data to identify and intervene as early as possible to prevent an individual’s homelessness, working with a ground-breaking collaboration of public and private partners.

We are looking for a big thinker and pragmatic ‘doer’. This is a chance to be at the cutting-edge of shaping a best-in-class approach to using data to end homelessness with internationally leading partners. Our aim is to create models with our partners that can be scaled across the UK and beyond.

You might have worked on strategy for a progressive technology company, led data strategy at a major corporate or driven impact through data linked to a significant social challenge.  You will be a strategic thinker ready to put your knowledge to work in driving an end to homelessness.

Key Accountabilities, but not limited to:

• Lead, shape and deliver the Data strategy as part of The Royal Foundation’s Homewards programme
• Work with a range of partners from across the data sector to shape ambition across our locations and design cutting edge innovations and approaches to prevent homelessness, from new sources of data to the use of predictive analytics and AI
• Identify and convene commitments to deliver the resources and expertise needed to progress this ground-breaking work across the locations. The Data Lead will need a strong understanding of the potential needs and nuances of each location which are across the UK.
• Build a network of expert support and work across the Homewards team to prioritise, co-develop and deliver initiatives, ensuring the approach is backed by a robust delivery plan
• Work with the Homewards location teams to ensure the data strategy delivers on Local Action Plans (our locations’ roadmaps to preventing and ending homelessness); and support them to identify high potential local partners and grow relevant local relationships
• Work closely with other Leads in the programme and the central Partnerships team to ensure a joined-up approach which delivers maximum impact for Homewards and The Royal Foundation
• Shape and deploy an approach to share insights from our work with other locations on data so the approach can scale.

Relevant knowledge, experience and personal qualities

• Strong knowledge of what it takes to deliver cutting edge data projects locally, and proven sensitivity to public and private sector pressures that shape that delivery
• Proven leader in delivering ambitious data programmes or social impact initiatives with a strong data component
• Experience delivering strategic projects and new partnerships, ideally working with the private sector and with multiple stakeholders, to create lasting impact

The Director of Policy, Influencing and Change will lead our efforts to shape policy, influence practice, and channel resources towards effective approaches to advancing health equity, this include spreading and scaling our proven projects and ensuring our work has a wider impact.

Policy, Influencing and Change
 

· Strategic leadership of IoUH Policy and Influencing: Delivering and evolving Policy & Influencing strategy that embeds policy, influencing into all IoUH’s programmes and work, overseeing effective execution of the strategy by the Policy & Influencing Team.
 

· Strategic leadership of IoUH Change function: Responsible for a strategic approach to partnerships focussed on scaling and sustaining what we know works. Overseeing delivery of a select portfolio of projects that are operating at scale and being replicated, particularly with a view to influencing local and national policy making and co-funding partnerships.
 

· Impact delivery: Overseeing the development and delivery of Policy and Influencing and Change strategies to support IoUH to achieve strategic aims and stated impact goals, including influencing decision making, policy debate and the policy and practice of key stakeholders.
 

· Stakeholder engagement and thought leadership: Working with the Director of Comms to manage IoUH’s external presence. Coordinating Policy, Influencing & Change stakeholder relations ensuring that IoUH has strong relationships with key stakeholders that support
scaling of effective approaches and enables wider policy and practice changes, with priority given to Government, Parliament, Lambeth and Southwark Councils, the Greater London Authority, other funders and policy influencing organisations. Supporting the IoUH Director Team to embed good stakeholder management practices within the work of their own teams.
 

· Thought leadership: Acting as a thought leader and supporting IoUH to be the go-to experts on urban health and health equity, representing IoUH and the Foundation externally

IoUH Leadership

· Champion inclusive leadership and be an effective member of IoUH’s Director’s Team
 

· Line management responsibility for national and international Partnership Manager, Head of Policy & Influencing and dotted line to Portfolio Managers holding day-to-day responsibility for scaled/to be scaled programmes
 

· Other responsibilities that can reasonably be expected to help ensure the successful delivery of your role

· Take strategic responsibility for ensuring consistency and identifying synergies in policy and influencing work across the Foundation, identifying opportunities to use insights from our work to influence policy and key audiences.

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications:
 

· Deep understanding of UK political environment and the operation of government
 

· Experience of overseeing complex large-scale programmes and handling significant (multi-million pound) budgets
 

· Experience of securing large funding partnerships or financial commitments
 

· Experience leading and developing teams and managing multiple project demands
 

· Experience in consistently embedding DEI into ways of working and create a feeling of inclusion for others, a presence to manage and lead others

What you'll do:

Payroll

Be responsible for the day to day delivery and coordination of the administration of the Payroll function, ensuring a timely and accurate payroll service is delivered to Look Ahead's employees, workers and Board members, to agreed deadlines
Produce and review any monthly exception reports to identify and rectify any payroll errors arising
Work with the HR Admin and Payroll Manager, Director of People and Director of Finance to ensure that payroll data processing reviews are rigorously and independently checked, validated and signed off
Act as liaison with internal and external auditors and other 3rd parties (as appropriate) on all matters with regard to Payroll processes, controls and systems
Act as liaison with MHR, HR department and Business Systems team on all areas of the payroll.

HR Admin

Acting as the first point of contact for all HR Admin related queries, via phone and email; responding promptly, whilst managing expectations effectively
Ensure letters for contractual changes for staff are sent out in a timely and accurate way and all relevant systems updated
Respond to straightforward policy and process queries, providing appropriate advice and guidance in line with Look Ahead policy, ensure that urgent items are prioritised and that any issues are highlighted and resolved as quickly as possible; escalate to the Admin Manager or an HR Business Partner as appropriate
