We are recruiting for a private international charitable foundation which seeks to support environmental recovery, supported by cultures and economies grounded in Earth lore, in line with their “breathe freely” ethos. As such they are committed to grants and other investments that are healing to the climate, to biodiversity, and to human cultural relations with the other-than-human. The foundation is currently based in a Hong Kong family office, with personnel in Hong Kong and the UK, as well as Cameroon, Brazil, Australia, Papua, and the US. The work is hybrid and the candidate can legally work in the UK or Hong Kong. A working visa will be provided if needed.
The organisation has been in a phase of significant growth and change over the last five years and is seeking to ensure that the needs of our diverse and committed staff are known and addressed.
This is a new position which interfaces with all foundation staff. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be developing and ensuring that staff policies and practices are relevant, clear, harmonized, and compliant with regulations across the foundation’s staff locations and in alignment with the foundation’s values. The position provides an opportunity to practice all aspects of a global HR function including recruiting, hiring and on-boarding, remuneration and benefits, performance and effectiveness, compliance, training and development, staff wellness and retention, and HRIS.
Global Human Relations Specialist
Responsibilities
— The responsibilities of Global Human Relations Specialist will include, but are not limited to:
- Determine and facilitate optimal hiring status for new and continuing staff (direct employment, EoR employment, independent consulting) and initiate and manage contracts as appropriate.
- When there are open positions, working with hiring managers to manage the full cycle of recruitment of positions including job scoping, candidate sourcing, interviewing, reference checking, background checking, developing offers and closing the hire.
- Guide and manage onboarding, orientation and exit processes.
- Evaluate and facilitate staff mobility and travel requirements (visas, permits, and registrations) as needed.
- Update and maintain job description library and organisational charts.
- Maintain appropriate benchmarks, periodically review and recommend enhancements to compensation and benefits plans across international geographies.
- Coordinate payroll and HR administration with International Accountant and others.
- Review, update, develop and enhance processes, policies, and procedures for staff across various jurisdictions to ensure compliance around applicable labour and employment regulations, internal equity in compensation and benefits, and to reflect best practices and our institutional culture and values. Identify any significant gaps to our offering in relation to staff priorities.
- Ensure the integrity of staff records and timeliness of any required actions (e.g. remuneration adjustments, contract renewals, enrolments etc).
- Consult with, coach, and support managers and staff on standard personnel transactions, employee relations issues, interpretation and fair application of policies and applicable laws.
- Recommend appropriate resources and training for professional development needs.
- Organise staff events for team and capacity building and cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary learning including annual retreat.
- Maintain a pulse on staff morale and identify strategies to enhance staff cohesion, engagement and overall health and well-being.
- Specify and optimize HRIS to efficiently manage human resource related processes, record keeping and analytics. Manage HRIS interfaces with other relevant systems such as accounting.
- Develop and manage relationships with staffing related service providers including payroll and HRIS providers, accountants and employment law experts.
General and Other
- Coordinate user training and resourcing on HRIS (including payroll) platform, as needed.
- Keep abreast of developments in foundation staffing (role descriptions and structures).
- Keep abreast of best practices in international HR.
- Occasional travel as required for execution of duties.
- Other duties as are consistent with specialist’s role and experience as the foundation continues to evolve, or from time to time as prompted by institutional priorities.
Qualifications
— The successful Global Human Relations Specialist candidate will likely reflect much of the following profile:
Essential
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a field related to the work.
- Five years’ progressively responsible HR experience.
- International HR experience. GPHR or PHRi or equivalent, a plus.
- Practical understanding of global employment law and issues.
- Strong understanding of accounting as it relates to staffing.
- Excellent, hands-on knowledge of web-based systems including HRIS, payroll (we currently use Deel), office suite platforms (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
- Comfortable in complex and highly matrixed environments. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers across disciplines and functions in shared efforts with proven ability to influence without direct formal authority.
- Comfortable working remotely.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible and re-prioritize as needs arise.
- Pleasant and effective communication skills, written and oral. (English is our working language.)

Desired

We are looking for an empathic, organised and intuitive wellbeing professional to join our student support team in the Department of Design Engineering.
As one of two part-time student wellbeing advisers in the department, your primary work will be to provide direct one-to-one support for our postgraduate and undergraduate students. This might include conversations about mental health, relationships, sexuality, finance, studies, family issues, neurodiversity, disability, accommodation, bereavement, trauma and other topics.
The role also involves liaising with academic colleagues, signposting students to internal & external provisions, and running occasional group wellbeing initiatives. You will be a part of developing the wellbeing provision and supporting in upskilling academic staff around wellbeing and mental health issues.
The role is part time 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) and is a fixed term contract for 2 years. The role requires 60% (or more) in-person work at our South Kensington campus, with the option to work the remainder from home. There are certain weeks of the year such as welcome week, exam weeks, and coursework deadline periods where in-person working on both days is required.
Duties and responsibilities
You will provide:
Wellbeing advice – you will listen, support and advise students on wellbeing issues they present with. The aim is to provide a safe, confidential, collaborative space for students to discuss whatever is on their mind. This might be a single conversation, short term support or more regular, ongoing check-ins depending on the situation. At times you will signpost students to internal/external services and liaise with appropriate staff as needed.
You will also:
· Run group wellbeing initiatives for students
· Liaise with colleagues regarding students who need extra academic support due to wellbeing issues
· Support necessary students to access Imperial’s Disability Advice Service, and ensure their required adjustments are communicated to the education team
· Contribute to the department’s EDI committee
· Complete record-keeping and administrative duties related to the role
· Use your own insight and initiative to develop the wellbeing provision

Essential requirements
· You will have experience working with students in a further or higher education setting, or working with young adults in another relevant setting (such as a charity, healthcare, mental health, or a counselling/therapeutic setting).
· You will hold a relevant qualification.
· You will have experience of working within relevant professional protocols and policies, including safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality.
· Experience of providing counselling support to individuals and providing staff training would be considered an advantage, as would accreditation from a recognised professional body in the fields of mental health, wellbeing, counselling or psychotherapy (e.g. BACP, UKCP, HCPC, NCS, BABCP) although not essential.

We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Homelessness service in Slough.
£26,305.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.
As a Support Worker you will be expected to enable and support vulnerable individuals with complex needs to address this while maintaining their tenancy with the long term goal of living in an independent setting by providing flexible and individually tailored support package. Working with excluded and hard to reach customers can be challenging, however, with intensive support this challenge can be broken. You will need to be able to engage our customers in a non-judgmental way. You will also be responsible for dealing with emergencies that may arise during your shift whilst remaining calm and using initiative then writing up incident reports amongst other administrative tasks.
As a support worker, you will be working as part of a team as well as with external agencies such as London Probation Service, local substance misuse services, Mental health teams, and police amongst others. Sometimes customers may not be linked in with agencies when they entre the service, as a support worker it is part of your role to ensure they are receiving the correct support from agencies required. Ideally, you will have experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of homelessness. You will be required to support customers with managing their arrears; ensuring housing benefit is applied for as well as monitoring payments and acting appropriately if payments are suspended in order to ensure customer does not fall into any arrears.
You will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the service which is a five week rolling rota which consists of working some weekends as well as long days.
There will be a rota for shifts, with working patterns of 7:30-15:30 and 12:30-20:30. There will be some weekend work.

Work proactively with Slough Hostel team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs.

Maintain a good standard of records as required at the project under the direction of the Managers.

Enhanced Support Worker
We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Enhance Support Worker to join our RBKC Heaney Cluster Service service in Ladbroke Grove.
£25,937.60 per annum, working 40 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.
The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse. The high support hostel caters for eleven service users with complex needs and is staffed 24 hours a day with the minimum of three staff on duty. The medium support services are staffed from 9am to 9pm where the customers present with varying degrees of mental health issues.
Enhanced Support Workers will devise person centered support plans with customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their needs and goals. This will include sign posting them to the local drug and alcohol services to address substance misuse issues. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.
