We are seeking an experienced Development and Income Generation Manager. This crucial role is to develop and sustain programs supporting East and Southeast Asian women in the UK.
 

About Us

We are a new and inclusive organisation empowering East and Southeast Asian women and their families. ESEA women share a common culture and experience similar issues, eg. immigration, racism, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence and exploitation in the UK. We campaign to completely eradicate financial hardship and end violence among women and our dependents within the ESEA UK community. We provide a safe space, advocacy, health, housing, education, co-learning and other holistic support and services.

We are a non-hierarchical organisation with our trustees as key facilitators, working with our staff and volunteers to implement and deliver our projects. We are seeking exemption under the provision of the Equalities Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 under the occupational requirements as this post requires the postholder to be female or identifying herself as female.

Main responsibilities:

• Create a successful income generation strategy across different sources including corporate, grant makers, trust and foundation, social media fundraisers, legacy and new streams of funding.

• Write and submit successful and compelling grant / funding proposals, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organisational goals

• Build solid relationships with corporate sponsors, funders and grant makers to enable us to identify the best income generation streams  for our organisational requirements

• Engagement in the ESEA community with an in depth understanding of nuanced community issues that will ensure robust applications

• Research and identify additional potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships from agencies, foundations, and corporations.

• Work closely with our team to gather data and information to support applications

• Maintain and track an organised record of funding opportunities, application deadlines, and submitted proposals. Provide timely updates to the team

• Help report to funders on the benefits of their funded projects.

• Employ and train staff/ volunteers with funding applications and other aspects of funding, eg social media requests

• Share management and supervision work of staff for the different projects in the organisation.

• Participate in the organisation wide collective and collaborative approach to move the direction of the charity forward across different work of the organisation. 

Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent grant writing and communication skills

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in successful funding applications

• Successful track record in fundraising from corporate sectors

• Good understanding and experience of rights based campaigning on migrants and human rights issues through a woman’s lens

• Good knowledge of women’s issues including violence and oppression.

• Good knowledge of how migrant community groups organise and work together

• Experience in building networks and alliances and in collaborative work

• Flexible and proactive, can work independently

• Commit to SEEAWA’s values in promoting and protecting the rights of migrant workers, women who were trafficked and experienced gender violence

• Have one year experience managing staff and volunteers

• From or experience in Southeast and East Asian cultures

Operations Manager - Support Services (Mental Health)

This role will be responsible for the Operational Management of three contracts: 

Birmingham Mind’s Vulnerable Adults Services are funded by Birmingham City Council and provide mental health support to the citizens of Birmingham by helping them in their own homes and providing supported accommodation for those in serious need. 

Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team (ICRT) is co-located with clinical staff from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust (BSMHT). The service works closely with commissioners, other NHS professionals, and service users to offer an alternative to inpatient rehabilitation, especially to Community Recovery Units, to facilitate the early discharge of existing rehabilitation inpatients locally. 

Our Operations Managers work at a strategic and managerial level, supporting the service managers, working closely with Birmingham Mind’s Senior Leadership Team, and maintaining productive relationships with commissioners and related roles. 

A successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and significant experience of beneficiary involvement. About the role:

This is an ideal post for someone with experience and interest in bereavement work, looking to join a forward thinking, new service. This is also a great chance to be working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield and be part of a prison services team in Advance.

Using a trauma informed approached, the Loss & Bereavement Specialist will conduct a person-centred assessment to understand the extent of the client’s emotional needs and the impact of loss due to imprisonment or contact with the criminal justice system whilst also identifying practical and specialist needs. They will work with women to develop a support plan, ensuring they are equipped with information and knowledge about how to navigate possible changes in circumstances related to her children’s care and offer crisis intervention and support during acute phases of loss/bereavement.

The Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker will liaise with the Prison Healthcare team, OMU, visits team and the Family Support Officer to facilitate interactions between women and their children/family members, particularly considering support is in place after visits and that the women’s emotional needs are met in custody and community via our Women’s centres.

The Specialist Worker will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women. They will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Loss & Bereavement Specialist Worker you will need the below experience and skills:

Experience of working with bereaved individuals and providing grief counselling including knowledge of various therapeutic modalities relevant to grief counselling

Comprehensive understanding of the grieving process and experience of working with bereaved and loss as well as knowledge of traumatic and complex grief/loss.

An understanding of violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system.

Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of vulnerable people in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

The role
 
This is an exciting role, to liaise and support partner organisations to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and up to date, coded correctly on UH’s cashbooks and reconciled against bank statements. You will also provide technical support to partners’ finance staff and train them on the use of the cashbooks and financial reporting to UH.
 
You will be educated to degree level and have experience in a fast-paced and complex finance role. You should have experience of working with technical accounting packages as well as experience in financial planning and monitoring.

What will you be doing?

We are looking to recruit a committed individual to support the delivery and development of our criminal  justice practice work, with a focus on women’s justice. This is an exciting opportunity where the successful applicant will be actively contributing to the design and delivery of our expanding women in justice area of focus within the Centre.

The role will primarily support our work to expand and enhance community justice for women. This means working in partnership with statutory partners such as police, probation, the judiciary and court staff, as well as 3rd sector organisations including women’s centres to support evidence-led practice.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our women’s problem-solving court network. This will involve (i) identifying and convening practitioners and others who are interested in women’s problem-solving approaches; (ii) facilitating and delivering training and practice sharing workshops; and (iii) developing briefings and toolkits that support the spread of good practice.

Problem-solving courts are specialist courts that focus on addressing the underlying issues and problems that drive offending behaviour. They specialise in a specific set of issues or around a specific target group, such as women with multiple unmet needs. They operate with multi-agency teams to provide tailored interventions and supervision, combining this with judicial monitoring, where individuals regularly appear before the same judge to review their progress.

The Practice Officer will also support us to expand our reach in Out Of Court Resolutions (OOCRs) and pre-court diversion, working directly with police and other agencies to develop or improve their gender-responsive diversion schemes.

The role will also include:

• Supporting the delivery of our practice support in areas such as early intervention and diversion, and specialist problem-solving approaches for women;

• Identifying and supporting areas for practice development;

• Developing practical tools to support practitioners;

• Presenting at external events;

• Contributing to the design and facilitation of practice sharing events and workshops;

• Engaging with practitioners, stakeholders and service users to shape delivery and represent the Centre;

• Working with the Centre’s teams to ensure practice work feeds into our research, policy and communication activities.

  Prior knowledge and experience of criminal problem-solving courts is not essential, but the Practice Officer will be required to develop a strong technical understanding of the model once in post.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Carbon and Natural Capital Surveyor to focus on identifying, progressing and managing natural capital opportunities across the UK, and deliver carbon projects that meet the Trust’s contractual commitments.

The People and Culture Manager will provide comprehensive and professional HR support across the charity and will collaborate with the Senior People and Culture Manager and People and Culture Assistant to ensure the people and culture strategy is effectively delivered. 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

Employee Relations

• Provide HR advice and support to managers and staff.

The charity offers a flexible working environment with hybrid working 2 days per week from their office in Cheam, Surrey. 

Working alongside colleagues across the Charity, the Supporter Acquisition Manager will play a key role in driving growth in new supporters and income, innovating, developing and delivering products and campaigns that inspire their audiences and underpinning the Charity’s work through growing sustainable income. 

Key Responsibilities:

•  Supported by the Head of Individual Giving and Legacy, and working with your team, you will drive the development and implementation of a multi-channel acquisition strategy. This will drive lead generation and acquisition of new supporters, growing the charity’s base of supporters, planning, testing and refining approaches to build a scalable programme which delivers volume whilst maximising long-term ROI.
•  Identify opportunities to engage key audiences at moments that matter, such as inductions, promotions, training and development programmes, transfers, secondments and retirements, working in collaboration with colleagues and in partnership with external stakeholders to design and implement new approaches.
•  Work with the appointed agency to develop a regular giving proposition that delivers a strong sense of community across supporters; valuing those who function as custodians of the nation and each other.
•  Work with organisational processes and develop strong project governance to launch supporter acquisition activities across our product range, including but not limited to; Direct Mail, email, telemarketing, social & digital activity and events.  
•  Manage the Supporter Acquisition budget, ensuring income and expenditure budgets and forecasts are achieved with any critical variances being reported promptly.
•  Working with the Supporter Engagement team develop and implement a cross-channel programme of regular impact stewardship for new donors designed to engage, retain and inspire future support, with a focus on payroll and direct debit donors.
•  Work with the Supporter Engagement team to implement key cross-sell opportunities to our current donors through insight-driven customer journeys. 
•  Manage and grow the Charity’s payroll giving programme and represent the Charity as needed in key sector forums on payroll giving.
•  Manage the Donor Acquisition Officer to continue to expand our lottery programme as well as introduce new methods of engagement.

Person Specification: 

•  Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful donor acquisition programmes across a range of marketing channels.
•  Understanding of digital platforms and how to maximise them for the benefits of fundraising and supporter engagement.
•  Understanding of fundraising performance metrics and KPIs, with experience of interpreting campaign analysis and supporter insight to drive continuous improvement.
•  Understanding and experience of payroll giving and working with with Professional Fundraising Organisations and Payroll Giving Agencies.
•  Understanding of audience segmentation and its application for campaign targeting.
•  Experience of creating and delivering an effective case for support for potential donors, with demonstrable results.

We’re looking for someone with experience in political influencing, campaigning, or public affairs. You’ll need to be organised, creative, and confident representing our organisation in public-facing spaces. 

Your responsibilities

1. Campaigns (50% of time)

· Develop strategic campaign goals and deliver inclusive, impactful campaigns, rooted in lived experience, in collaboration with colleagues and Transport for All members

· Use a range of techniques, including e-campaigning, direct action, and events, to engage and mobilise members and alliies

· Lead on using an online campaigning tool (e.g. Action Network), supporting and growing our campaigning members, while ensuring that accessible, offline actions are given equal weighting

· Work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to ensure campaign content is timely, accessible, and effective

· Build partnerships with other Disabled People’s Organisations and charities to amplify campaign efforts

· Monitor and report on campaign impact and key performance indicators (KPIs)

2. Public Affairs (40% of time)

· Communicate Transport for All’s policy positions to MPs, civil servants, mayors, local authorities, and other key stakeholders

· Represent Transport for All at external meetings, conferences, and events

· Monitor and respond to political developments, identifying timely opportunities for influence

· Collaborate with the Policy and Public Affairs Officer to ensure consistent and coordinated external messaging

· Work closely with the Policy and Public Affairs Officer to align public affairs and campaign activity with our co-designed policy positions

This is a part-time position (three days per week, with flexible hours to be agreed) offering a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 per annum (£50,000-£60,000 pro rata). The role is well-suited to remote working, with regular visits to the cemeteries required.

About the Secular Clergy Common Fund

The Fund was established around 1701 and is a charity providing grants to support sick and retired Catholic priests in the South-East of England, who are the members of the Fund. The Fund also looks after two Victorian Catholic cemeteries in London. The six Administrators of the Fund are elected by the members and act as Trustees of the charity.

Key Responsibilities

1. To provide leadership for and line management of the Fund and its cemeteries, in line with strategies and policies developed in partnership with the Administrators.

2. Together with the Chief Administrator, to enable the Administrators to fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity and to ensure that they receive timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.

3. To administer the grant making and membership activities of the Secular Clergy Common fund, in line with the rules of the Fund and in the light of the decisions of the Administrators.

Key Tasks

1. Governance

· To act as the clerk and executive officer for the Administrators of the Fund.

o To clerk meetings of the Administrators (3 or 4 per year).

o Liaison with Auditors, Investment Managers, Bankers, Solicitors, Health and Safety Adviser, Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and others as directed or agreed with the Administrators.

o To report significant matters in a timely manner to the Chief Administrator.

· To assist the Administrators in review of their operational and strategic risks and the implementation and monitoring of measures arising from this.

· To advise the Administrators on the strategic development of the charity.

· To ensure that the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities

o To periodically review the charity’s arrangements for Employment, GDPR and Health and Safety other significant areas and present recommendations to the Administrators to bring them up to date.

2. Secular Clergy Common Fund (‘The Fund’)

· To maintain records of members, including correspondence for admission of new members and receipt of subscriptions.

· To liaise with the Administrators for the making of grants.

· To make payments of grants and other dues on behalf of the Fund.

· To receive donations and legacies on behalf of the Administrators.

· To maintain financial records for the Fund

o Including of investment portfolio transactions as advised by Investment Managers (HSBC Private Bank).

· To arrange the AGM and dinner.

3. St Mary’s & St Patrick’s Cemeteries

· To act as line manager for the two cemeteries and work closely with the Cemetery Manager.

· To assist the Administrators in developing a medium- to long-term strategy for the cemeteries.

· To manage the strategic development of the cemeteries as financially sustainable ‘places of rest and hope, comfort to the living, signs of their hope for unending life’.

· To assist the Cemetery Manager in development of action plans for the cemeteries, agree them with the Administrators and support their implementation.

· To ensure that all policies and procedures for the cemeteries are up to date and compliant with all relevant areas of legislation and regulation, and reflective of good practice, reviewing and developing them as appropriate and agreeing key policies with the Administrators.

· To assist with accounting and finance for the cemeteries, possibly including accounting, payments and payroll.

· To address issues concerning the cemeteries which the Cemetery Manager has been unable to resolve.

Young People Support Workers

About the Role

As part-time Young People Support Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

In accommodation based services you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.
